Amazing food the kitchen is so good. I had the chicken mendi and was so big. Loads of rice and chicken was so tender. Amazing place

Amazing shisha and food. Also, live sports! I ordered the chicken mendi and it was so big. So nice aswel the chicken was very tender.

Watched the ufc there was such a good night. Atmosphere was amazing food was great and milkshakes were so good. Open till 2 am as well which makes it great for ufc and boxing.

I have regularly visited this place since they opened couple of years ago. I simply love it. We usually order hot and cold mezzos as well as Fatayers and Lahm Ajeen. The place is neat and clean. Staff are friendly and help you chose your dishes. Service is very quick. Not expensive at all. Mainly Kebanese and Shami cuisine. They also serve you tea with cardamom or with mint in tea pits and Eastcans. Their bread and dips are awesome. The Shawerma wraps are to die for. Falafels, Kibbeh, Mana’eesh....etc. My friend have also had full hot meals and grill menus and liked it very much. We have also ordered take away which they deliver. We have ordered good to take with us while we were having dinner. I fully recommend it.

Me and my partner shared a vegan mezze board, I had a chicken shawarma with hummus and she had a lentil soup. The food was excellent, came quickly and the guy who served us was very nice and polite, we will be back soon with some friends! Very good prices too.

I've been here a few times and the food is always amazing. Portions are huge! Mansaf chicken is a highlight. Staff are great and very friendly. Highly recommend

I’d just like to say that we are very extremely critical with our options on how good and bad food is. Normally we are of the opinion nothing is good enough. We were quite skeptic About trying this place but hand on heart we were extremely impressed. For me this visit was a solid 8.8/10. Food was almost just right to my pallet. (Don’t forget I am very harsh with my rating scores so this is a massive high score for me to ever give). Many thanks. Will be returning

Visited on a Friday afternoon/evening on a work afternoon out as a large group and was not disappointed! Started with grilled halloumi cheese, no sweet chilli sauce or condiments to go with it but some lettuce salad on the side. Lovely thick pieces of halloumi cooked perfectly and a generous portion for a starter at the usual price of upwards of £3 and closer to £4. Totally worth it and with the pitta bread on the table, chucking a piece in there is a winner for the taste palette. The main event really was impressive, I opted for the £10.90 Lyalena Mixed Grill. Lamb shish, chicken shish and lamb kafta were the main components and were accompanied by rice, chips, side salad and a stunning mayo and chilli side sauce. Considering the very reasonable price, the portion size was more than impressive and realistically could have been a meal for two. If you’re a good eater and like the challenge of battling meat sweats though, it’s more than worth the effort! Located in the heart of City Road in the Welsh capital, you may struggle to find parking but a drive up and down the side streets should prove fruitful eventually. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the city centre though, so not completely off the beaten path. No alcohol is sold there either, so you’re if you’re looking for a drink with your food: it’ll be a soft drink or water. Overall, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the restaurant itself was clean and tidy, which is always a plus. It’s suitable for couples and groups and it’s worth a visit if you’re looking to try somewhere different and take in some authentic Lebanese food.

Strange lighting inside and I just didn’t feel comfortable for some reason. The food was bland, not much flavour. Especially after all the reviews I read I was expecting some really amazing food. Service was okay but nothing special. I don’t know why but the lighting inside reminds me of a clinic or hospital. I think dimmer warmer lighting would set the right feel and food needs more flavour. That building has had many restaurants open and close and wouldn’t surprise me if this one doesn’t last there.

Me and family took a visit to lyalena recently. The decoration and seating was lovely and on arrival we were greeted by friendly staff. Food arrived quick and was lovely and tasty. My lamb shank was cooked to perfection and rice was amazing. This is the 3rd time I have visited lyalena and I know at some point there will defiantly be a 4th. If your visiting the area you should defiantly check this place out.

Me and my wife had a chance to visit Cardiff on a visit, staying in a hotel nearby and came across with this great place to eat. Located on City Road, Cardiff which is sort of "Food Street", so you will come across with many places and choices to sit and eat. Finally chose this restaurant, for a nice evening meal and ordered mix grill. Great prices (Only accept Cash, no cards i am afraid). Waitress was very kind and well mannered, made us feel special. Food quantity was more than we expected so this was a plus. Quality was above than satisfactory. They had enough seating and at the same time, the restaurant was busy. If you are looking to have a great dine out (with Turkish/Lebanese cuisine) in the middle of Cardiff City, give a try to this one. Recommended !

Wanted somewhere to eat quite late in the evening. Had heard about Lyalena so gave it a try. Didn't arrive until 11.15 - no problem - warm welcome and whole menu to choose from. Lovely waitress - friendly and happy to help - food freshly cooked and well presented. The falafel; burgers had a great review as did the chicken shish; the lamb shwarma was very tasty, and more than I could manage. 5 main courses and a bill under £50 - what more can you want.

Dropped in early one evening and had a lovely meal. Excellent service, great choice and lovely food. Introduced to the concept of half and half here (it is a Welsh thing with half chips half rice). We ordered conservatively as we had been caught out with over ordering in City Road, but still took excess food home in a doggy bag. Would recommend the lamb stew with chickpeas

My wife and I ate at Lyalena tonight having paid £13 for a groupon voucher for one course each up to the value of £35 for the two meals. On arrival, staff were very pleasant and the waitress explained what part of the menu we could order from. However, the waitress explained that on certain dishes (which only cost £10-£12 anyway) we would have to pay £1 or £3 extra. We ordered the sea bass and a chicken dish, both of which were very good. On paying, the fish I was told have a £3 supplement even though the value was only £10.95. I said that the Groupon voucher gave us a value of up to £35 and our meals came to £22 - I was advised that there is an error on their groupon voucher - I suggested that this needs amending. All in all, a very nice restaurant with tasty food, it's just a pity that the Groupon deal is hardly worth purchasing.

The food at this restaurant is very nice and reasonably priced. The portions are quite generous and the staff are always friendly. The grilled chicken is especially good as is the sharwarma kebab.

The service is appalling if you're using a Groupon voucher. Almost impossible to make a booking. Yesterday after I tried for days, no one answer the phone. I decided to make a trip to the restaurant. Even though was completely empty, still the waitress said she couldn't take the voucher. They made us feel like we were asking for free food. We paid for the voucher.

Usually order a meal for delivery through Just-Eat and have not once had a bad meal, but went for a sit-in meal with the family using a groupon voucher, 2 courses for 4 people. Food quality was exceptional, and excellent portion sizes. Slight hiccup with starters coming out at the same time as the mains, but mistakes happen and the quality of the food made up for it. Good service even though it was very busy, and the waiter being very patient with an awkward table sat near by. Would absolutely go back, and continue to order online

We really enjoyed our meals at Lyalena. The food was delicious and great portion sizes - I didn't have room for dessert and that never happens! (I bought some to take home for later). They also have a good variety of soft drinks. The service was great too.

This restaurant catered for our various needs (Halal and Vegetarian) with tasty food and good service for an excellent price. Fed a group of four for just £26 and cans of Coke and Pepsi were just £1.

Was great experience! Amazing food and cardamon tea. It was also good to see that they have a vegan menue! Deffinetley will be back!

My partner and I had the same experience as the previous reviewer. Bought a groupon voucher which clearly states 'two people - two courses' (not two main meals, two courses). So it was a bit embattassing at the restaurant. Anyway had our two mains which weren't brilliant. The food wasn't cooked over hot coals which we were expecting. when I checked on 'my groupon' it does state 'two main meals'. I shall be making a complaint to Groupon.

I brought a Groupon voucher. 2 course meal for 4. I phoned them before I went telling I had a Groupon voucher. And when I presented the voucher to them they said it's only 2 main meals. How can 2 main meal feed 4 people. It clearly said 2 course meal for 4. They thought I was dumb and stupid. Then when the waitress came back after 10 minutes, she said that it's a fault of Groupon. And because we are here today we can only have 1 course meal instead. Absolutely terrible. The waitress was very nice. But the manager kept his face away and didn't want to take this up. Obviously they must have set this deal up with Groupon otherwise the deal would not be up for several weeks. On top of that The food was very bland and Boring.

Vegan food is nothing like they promise on their website, smoothie tastes like juice from carton, not homemade, and not like any smoothies.. very poor, waste of time and money, better of making sandwich at home. Vegan Cheeseburger is like sandwich with warm burger - not homemade at all, and few slices of cold cheese which is not melted at all! Again you better off staying home making cheese sandwiches and having glass of supermarket juice!

Ordered a delivery which was really quick and food was amazing. The smell and the taste was superb. Definitely recommend everyone to try it!!!!!

We went for a lunch outing with work as a few of us were doing Veganuary and were amazed at the vegan choices on the menu. I had a vegan cheeseburger with green chillies and vegan cheese. I triple checked that the cheese was vegan as it was really nice, I was assured it was. I also checked that the burger bun was vegan as it looked suspiciously like a brioche bun - which is not vegan, but again I was reassured that it was vegan. It was a really nice burger and everyone was very happy with their food, plus the service was very good. We shall return.

6.50 for this mousakka. Two pieces of aubergine...I think it speaks for itself! I was really disappointed as it was the first time I had tried this place. Always give nice reviews as people are trying their best but there was clearly no effort that went into my meal.

The food was very tasty, I did not taste food that good taste for many years and there were varied dishes and the service was excellent and the prices were right.

The food here was absolutely delicious with very generous portion sizes. Meat was succulent and not at all dry, and all the food was bursting with flavour. Service was also excellent and all the staff were very friendly. Will be coming back very soon!

Wonderful food and service, reasonably priced and definitely one of the better restaurants on City Road.

Been to most of the grill or Middle eastern food places on city road, this I believe has opened recently and what a find. To keep it simple the food is great, the portion sizes although not mammoth absolutely adequate and fulfils the platter sizes they are suppose to cater for. Finally the prices are reasonable reasonable. Couldn't help noticing that they require a few more people helping out with service since when we went in one young lady was rushed of her feet otherwise she managed it quite admirably. Definitely be back again.

First time.at this eatautant with friends. The staff were very pleasant. The food more than filled the plates Free mini doughnuts with coconut cream after. Bill was very reasonable Couldn't eat all mine so brought it home. Give it a try
