Lunar Café York in York

I needed a cup of coffee and spotted a sign for LUNAR Cafe. The entrance is upstairs, through an LGBT bookshop. We were greeted by Rachel, upon entering the cafe, who was very friendly and welcoming. The cafe was small, but bright and colourful, with an interesting chalk board. Having already had lunch I just wanted coffee and my Husband a tea. I was happy there was oat milk and cow's milk available. We declined cake, as we had recently eaten lunch. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was another table of happy, chatting, people when we arrived. The service was fairly quick. We had time to sit and relax and look at the decor, which was nice, after walking around York. My coffee was delicious and I had a nice chat to Rachel about coffee before we left. I would recommend this cafe for hot drinks and would like to go back and try some cake!

This café is amazing, it’s a lovely safe space and Nelli’s a wonderful owner. They always have time for a chat and are really passionate about the place. I can easily say going out in York was so much easier before I had fully come-out because of this café and now I have, I can just enjoy it all the more! I have made so many friends here it’s wonderful and the coffee and cake are amazing as well. The fact that there’s even a bookshop downstairs that sells LGBT books is just even better!

Lunar Café York is my safe space. It's a place I feel I can always go to, and somewhere where I'll always have such fantastic conversations. Nelli, the owner, is fantastic and they - along with the rest of the staff - do such a fantastic job of running the cafe and providing an incredible, warm atmosphere for customers. Highly recommend - definitely visit if you haven't already! 🏳‍🌈🌈🏳️‍⚧️❤

Walk into a welcoming space , Their cakes are just out of this world .They have cakes for vegans to. Also the space has a great vibe to socialize, meet new people, chill, a quick lunch break treat maybe.
