Great menu with some interesting dishes.

Love the spicy foods. And the staff can speak Cantonese.

If you like spicy food, don’t miss it. The stir-fried pork sausage is very delicious. The boiled fish is very delicious and goes well with rice. It is really spicy. There are also non-spicy ones in the store, but the Dongpo pork is slightly sweet and the seafood tofu pot is average.

The wild food is passable, but I personally feel that the fried rice is not good, the fried rice noodles are not bad, and the hot and sour soup is good. The D disc was very good, and I kept picking it up all the way. The price of dinner was a little more expensive than in nearby restaurants.

Verry disappointed I Ordered a king prawn curry, this dark brown wishy washy water thing came out .I asked the waitress if this was curry , she said it was . Never have I seen a dark brown water chinese curry before. I completed but got nowhere. Disgusted Alec

Stumbled in after a few shandies, we both ordered far too much food ( which is delicious by the way), staff were more than happy to box up for us to take home for warmup following day. Highly recommend this place, one of the nicest Chinese restaurants I've eaten at/ from in absolutely ages. Will be out new go-to for certain.

Authentic Chinese restaurant with great prices and food.

Very friendly service, gave us a new cup of water because we dropped chicken in the original cup of water. And gave us tissue to blow nose. Other than that, food was great.

I come here with my family every Friday! Absolutely amazing quality of food, value for money. The service is 1st class, this is the BEST Chinese i’ve ever been to hands down!

I only can recommend them, lovely family business with original taste and quality of the Chinese cuisine. I say this to everyone, if you go DINE IN your portion huge and gives you a great atmosphere. They have plenty comfortable tables with privacy and the service quick smooth, if you feel got lost in their menu because of the hundreds of options just ask some recommendations from the waiters/waitress and they will be able to give you the best for your taste.

I’ve been to Lucky a few times and it is definitely the most authentic Cantonese restaurant I’ve been to in the UK. I have yet to find any others that prove me wrong!! Keep up the magic, the food is amazing! ✨

Had previously rated this place well, however very rude staff today over the phone and so adjusting my review. Wouldn’t listen and talked over an order resulting in allergies being misunderstood and cancelling order

孩子在诺丁汉求学，经常在这里用餐，今天一家人来集会用餐，五个人点了京都鸭、麻婆豆腐、东坡肉和清炒空心菜，食物份量大，价格非常优惠，难怪会经常满座。我们因为交通问题而迟到，所以需要等一段时间。服务员会非常忙碌，可是都会尽力配合。例如我们要求加白开水，即刻送上来。问题是店面太小，挤了一点，不过还是可以接受。

Vary classic, strongly recommend

The food is usually very good but the takeaway service is not exactly stellar. We ordered and had to phone back after 40 minutes only to discover it would be another 90 minutes. Not sure why the order was even accepted in the first place.

Booked a table for 15 at 8:30 pm on a Saturday night for a birthday - service was excellent and prompt and all the meals were delicious. We're looking forward to coming again.

Good price, can deliver, a good variety of food (not just the usual Chinese takeaway menu, but also some classic Chinese dishes), but some dishes are just so so.

Lucky Cantonese is by far one of the best Chinese Restaurants in Beeston! The food is exceptionally tasty, there is amazing choice of dishes and the food is fresh. I highly recommend it!

There’s always lots of people but very good good with fair price. The environment is a little narrow but it’s acceptable. Staffs are always busy and it’s hard to speak to them to get help. You might need to go to the counter directly to request something. Overall, its really good for the food.

One of the top choice Chinese place we go to when we are in Beeston. Reasonable price and fairly authentic food.

Had lovely meal had 2 lunchtime specials they came with rice and veg and they were to big to eat so brought a doggy box x 2 home.

Charged £16 for a £3-£4 bottle of wine. Laughable. Avoid like the plague.

Great Chinese restaurant. Some of dishes was tasty 😋 and the staff were friendly

salted chilly squid was good, could have been cut in smaller chunks, but the taste was good . seafood udon could also have more variety, only had 4 prawns, 2 crabsticks and 2 small pieces of squid, was a little bit too greasy , however again the taste was decent. will come back, as it is a popular local venue, but next time might try different dishes, perhaps following chefs recommendstions

Yummy Chinese food with competitive price

Nice meal but surprised us by asking for cash when offering card though the sign said cash only for lunch and takeaway but not for dinner. Very accommodating when it came to adapting the menu to requests.

Lucky has a staggeringly large menu but you'll want to plum the depths of the traditional Chinese speciality dishes. Many of which are amazingly tasty.

Lucky is one of the best Chinese restaurant In Nottingham. I always come back every time I’m in the area. The food is always fresh and a amazing atmosphere. Staff are always super welcoming and super friendly. I would highly recommend.

I actually really love the food in Luckys and the service is really good too. However, the last few times I have been there the part-time employee were always scolded even with our presence and it made us felt really bad for him. I later came to know a few of my other friends from chatting that they too felt the same. Surely good food and service towards customer are important but I think scolding your employee right in front of everyone in the restaurant isnt really nice and respectful.

straight up delicious - their salt and pepper spare ribs, aubergine with minced pork and mapo tofu have been propping me up throughout medical school (and I'm about to graduate, so they are doing a decent job at giving me life!). only downside - the cash only thing. they should get a card machine like all other businesses in the area!

Hands down the best Chinese I've ever had. I visit time and time again as the food is just so great. The staff are also friendly and I love the atmosphere. Deliveries are pretty much always on time and the food is fresh and hot.

If I was rating the food it would be a five star but everything else involved drags the score down to 2 , from the initial attempt at getting the order right to the constant late deliveries or wrong orders or food missing this place is now a joke which is such a shame as the lady who used to run it was such a hard working person who always greeted you with a smile when we would eat in. If you could only improve the order taking and delivery issues this would be 5 star again

visited again on Tuesday night 21st Dec 2021 , the dishes that we ordered were delicious. no sitting during tier 3 of covid-19 pandemic, takeaway only we have ordered four dishes at lunch and ate them at nearby park. all four dishes are tasty.

Tried on a recommendation when visiting on business. Pretty good authentic chinese food, tastes like being back in China. It’s not posh but it’s the real deal.

Had beef chow main. Very strong taste of Oxo cube and the noodles were very very thin 😏 Only went with them because our usual, Oriental Inn, was shut.

First visit, over the moon to spot chkn in yellowbean, and ma po tofu, neither is common, both are awesome. Service was a little slow, but very polite. This was a lunchtime visit, and there were about 12 customers eating - all were Chinese, now that's a good sign, I say. I will definitely be going back here, food very good. So, four years later, we have been back many times. Still awesome. So what if you have to wait a while, its not actually that long - if you are really in a hurry you would be at McDs! But you won't get food like this. If I could id move in!

We accidentally ordered something with meat in when the rest of our order was vegetarian, they gave gs a call to double check and suggested great alternatives. Really lovely that they spotted this and let us know really great customer care ! Also the food is soooo tasty

Froday night during lockdown so it was busy and late. Despite this, it was the nicest chinese takeaway we have had. Absolutely beautiful! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be ordering again! DELICIOUS!

As always, the food was delicious. I ordered and waited to take away and it took no time at all, perhaps 5 minutes and the food was ready. Always been a friendly place with a warm welcome whether you are dining in or taking away. Top notch!

1star only for the nice customer service from the driver. Food was absolutely terrible, how come people say a nice stuff about this restaurant. Maybe I was unlucky but my food was that bad that I haven't eaten at all. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with rice and vegetarian spring rolls with crispy seaweed and this cost me £17. With the chicken was definitely something wrong, I'm more then sure it was not fresh. From the look everything was ok, however when I have tried chicken I have noticed something really stinks. I felt sick. Everyone know how chicken can stink if you leave it for too long in your fridge. And this is exactly how it smells. Vegetarian spring rolls were born see on the attached pic. It really put me off when chefs do not care about food quality. Good chefs will only use fresh food and if something go wrong like today with the spring rolls they will do it again.

Really authentic Chinese food, a cosy restaurant with friendly staff. Sometimes it will be busy and they won’t be able to take orders. The pricing is affordable and worth the portions.

If you would like to experience mainland Chinese cooking this is the place to eat. This is mandarin cooking from people from mainland China not modified Cantonese which is what prevails in most Chinese restaurants in the UK Try the spicy cumin lamb.

Very authentic and tasty Chinese food, good service and if you're feeling adventurous they have a very traditional menu too. I tried the pigs trotters

Worst experience ever. Won’t recommend foreigners to order food as the lady who picked up the phone call gave us misleading info and made us ordered wrong food. We’ve ordered a Kungpo chicken but it’s as sweet as cantonese dishes. Phoned for resolution but the Chinese lady picked up the call is without decent telephone manner, not listening and her language so rude and uncivilised. We were being blamed as well. Very happy about the service even it was resolved at last.

Sorry but how this chinese restaurant has many star,, went there, the food Worst quality, the rice came almost cold,, like less than warm,, the girl in the cashier told to me take the money in the cash machine over there near the shop,, but she HAS THE MACHINE,, WHY? THE DEEP KING PRAWS CAME WITH TO MUCH FLOUR FRIED ON THE PRAWS,, REALY SORRY ,, WHEN I get inside I saw only chinese guys,, Thats why the restaurant has many 4 ou 5 stars,,

I've eaten food from here a couple of times and it's very average. This evening I wanted to give it a last try so placed an order only to have it cancelled. I called them and asked why and apparently I live "too far away". I live less than 1 mile away so I offered to come and collect them she said that they were too busy. They were rude, basically. Talk to people nicely and you get good reviews. Talk to them like these people did and you get terrible reviews.

Mediocre food and slow delivery

The 5 stars is purely for the food. I can look past the service, but honestly it can be really chaotic when they are busy with a full restaurant and many take away orders. In terms of food it is definitely one of the best around the area.

Great selection of food to cater for everyone but the waiting time for delivery and eating in is LONG on the weekends (especially in the evening). They always seemed to be under staffed or in some sort of unorganised chaos. Food is worth the wait, but if you are really hungry maybe try somewhere else!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would food turned up 2 hours late and we were given a bowl of onions in curry sauce (chicken curry) a bowl of lettuce with a bit of duck mediocre egg fried rice... Will never eat here again absolutely disgusting and owners lying about delivery times... Avoid this restaurant 3 hours later, gone to papa johns as still hungry after all that lettuce

DO NOT ORDER!! Awful customer service, food arrived HOURS late even after 2 phone calls. Food was cheap and abysmal, Chicken dish was just onion, duck dish was 90% lettuce. Do not reccommed. Wouldn't give this to a pig.

Sadly I had to wait for over 2hrs for my food and when it finally turned up, the food was very sparce and found tons of lettice under the duck dish the chicken did not taste great either. Very disappointed and when we phoned to ask where the food was, they had no idea what was going on. I will never order from here again. Poor customer service and not very nice food either. Very poor customer service and not good quality food at all.

DISGUSTING SERVICE. I ordered and waiting 2 hours just to be told my food was ‘still cooking’. It wasn’t even a big order... I cancelled my order went elsewhere and was eating my food within half an hour. Never ever choosing this restaurant

What a cracking little chinese restaurant, great food, a very homely feel. All be it a little compact shall we say but that adds to the atmosphere. I have had nicer chinese food but can't complain about the choice and quality offered here. Give it a go I doubt you'll be disappointed.

For me, best chinese restaurant in beeston. They have 'real' chinese menu, not english-chinese menu. We love their fish dishes. Kind people and they are quite good at english.

Really good restaurant with a very large menu from simple dishes to complicated specialities...the owner is very nice and they have delivery aswell...but its not very fast

Ordered no 28, it says it’s a special, hardly any meat, only 2 prawns, and absolutely full of green peppers, would not use this Chinese again.

Their dishes have quite satisfying amound of food (at least for me, they do) and the taste was good too. Definitely gonna visit again when I'm sill in Nottingham lol.

Welcomed very warmly, the menu has a very wide variety of choice and example pictures to match numbers which was helpful with choosing dishes. The honey spring rolls were a lovely golden crisp and nicely filled, the flavours complimented each other very well. The satay king prawn and lucky special fried rice had a good ratio of meat to vegetables to rice. The satay in particular was the best I've ever eaten. Perfectly balanced between the earthy peanut to sweet ponapple with chunky onions. The green peppers I usually avoid due to bitterness but these ones were delicious. All in all a very nice filling meal, will be back to try many more of their menu.
