Luciano's By Luciano Marco Pierre White in Woking

If I could leave a 0 star review then I would! We rushed to get there for our table at 6pm as we only get a measly 5 minute grace period and had theatre tickets, only to get there and find the whole place was in darkness and not open. I have a text confirming my booking the day before which I did! No communication, nothing. No one answered the phone when I tried to ring saying we were running late, just says, number out of service. And their website when you google “Luciano’s Woking” comes up with a different Lucianos, based in Dorchester in Dorset!

So this is a sort of post-mortem review as I went here several times but it was always dead inside. It was a nice enough place but they never played to their strengths. They had a really nice truffle dish that everyone was talking about for ages, which they then stopped doing, but all the meat dishes were a little disappointing. There was nothing wrong with them, but there was certainly nothing exciting about them. Like someone had gone to immense effort to make a textbook, unremarkable spaghetti bolognese. Who cares about technical accuracy when the result is so un-memorable. I never once experienced a burst of flavour in any dish, and I tried many of them. Above average, but flat, no downs but also no ups.

Had a confirmed pre theatre booking for last night Thursday 26th October. Restaurant in darkness. No note on the door as to why it was closed or an email to say it was closed. Very disappointing.

We had a confirmed reservation for pre theatre dinner at 6pm on Wednesday 4th October b1ut when we arrived 10 minutes before) the restaurant was in darkness with chairs all stacked up. We waited around outside until 6.05 but no-one came so we had to go to a nearby restaurant to eat. It was still closed when we went passed at 7.15pm. Has anyone got any idea of what has happened.

Beautiful ambience, really easy access and a great menu. Family enjoyed it and good live music. Highly recommended

Very disappointed with the whole experience.. Staff were uninterested and gave us no time to read the menu before dashing over to get our order. The chips were not the best and the chicken in the burger was not as good as in other placed we have eaten in. The desserts were also a disappointment. It was all edible but nothing outstanding. Very disappointing food and service in what could be a great restaurant. We came in after theatre and only one other table was taken so plenty of room. But waited ages for menu and then for drinks. No interaction at all with staff (only 2 on) and no warmth or greeting. Was expecting food to be amazing but it wasn't sadly. I could cook nicer dishes. I asked for gluten free carbonara as a rich treat but when it came it was in an oily sauce and no bacon or ham in it at all. And chewy penne pasta. Small portion too. I ate it as I was very hungry having not eaten for 6 hours. Came with parmesan already grated on it (never seen that before) and think it was to hide the fact I basically had a bowl of plain pasta. My friends had lasagne (dry) and burger which was apparently lovely. We then waited about 20 mins from finishing our meal, and had to call over for someone to bring us a dessert menu. We decided due to the very slow service not to order desert so we ordered decaf cappuccino x 2, and a tea. When the cappuccino came they were very milky, served in a glass, and had no hint of coffee. Just warm frothy milk. I asked if this was latte and was told no it's cappuccino. I said it didn't look or taste like cappuccino, and was told that's what they are like here. The waitress argued with us. In the end she offered to bring another shot of coffee and told me as it's decaf it won't have much taste and that's what I asked for!!! Astonished with the lack of any sort of customer service or trying to sort out the drinks. They were horrible and we both left them and didn't pay for them. Also didn't like 12.5% service being added as we had very bad service and very slow despite the very quiet restaurant. Really wanted this place to be great but would not go back. Extremely disappointed. I now feel annoyed with myself for not sending my bland bowl of dry pasta back but the waitress was so unfriendly I just didn't want to cause a fuss.

We ate at Luciano in Woking 2 months ago and the food was pleasant. However, our experience on 25/07/23 was far from satisfactory. The calamari starters we ordered were so thin and dry and were over-salted. We ordered 4 Aberdeen Angus Sirloin steaks and they were terrible. The steaks tasted like they were past their sell by dates. The steaks were extremely dark brown in colour and did not taste fresh, juicy nor succulent as they should be! We are foodie fans and had never expected such poor standards at a 'Luciano/Marco Pierre White' 's establishment!! Do you think your customers are ignorant of quality food? To serve such horrible steaks to us were really an insult! We were in a rush and had a meeting to go to hence we did not bother to complain to the waiter or had the time to send the food back. What a big disappointment it was and a total waste of our time and money. We never anticipated such poor quality food at a supposedly reputable restaurant like Luciano! Total waste of money and our precious time!!

Arrived at 12:30 to find the place fairly busy but with only 2 people serving it took a while to be seated. Again took a while for orders to be taken, one of the younger members of the group isn’t a fan of chips so asked of these could be swapped for mashed potato and was given a blunt “No, nothing can be swapped reply”. I appreciate if you’re asking for multiple things to be removed or swapped it’s time consuming, but a simple swap of one form of potato for another shouldn’t be an issue especially as they are both the same price on the menu. When the drink order arrived they gave one of the children an alcoholic Bellini instead of the virgin junior Bellini we had ordered which was luckily picked up on before it was drank. Food was ok, nothing special and small portions for the price so won’t be visiting again, much better food and service from Gordon Ramsay’s next door.

A very disappointing experience. We had booked for 5:15 and on arrival the restaurant wasn't very busy. Key factors that spoilt our meal at this restaurant - Everything seemed to be hurried throughout our meal, including main courses which were served before starters had been finished; - Waitress hovering over us whilst we were looking at the dessert menu, despite us asking for some time to consider what we wanted; - The quality of the food was ordinary to say the least; and - We were dissatisfied with the level of service received to the extent that we did not initially pay the discretionary service charge which had been added to the bill. However, we were informed by the waitress that the service charge was a requirement and was not discretionary. The restaurant menu states the service charge is discretionary. We subsequently emailed the restaurant complaining about our experience to give them an opportunity to respond about the issues we raised. To date we are still awaiting a response.

Popped in for a £10 meal, lovely waiting staff, but a shame about everything else - ended up having to sue them to get my meal delivered.

Wasn’t great ! Went here for lunch and ordered the pasta which is on the menu as “freshly cooked” ….. I question this ! I actually think o could have cooked a tastier and fresher dish myself ( and I’m no cook !!!!) I’m certain the food wasn’t fresh - it was bland and boring and stodgy . We went here for a family meal there was no atmosphere and the kitchen was quiet I believe the food is already prepared and then warmed up, I had the steak which was so tough I couldn’t chew it, my daughters was the same I think it was straight out of the freezer, if this still has something to do with Marco then they should be embarrassed, the main waiter was polite and couldn't apologise enough and took the Steaks off the bill, if this restaurant is still there in six months then I will be surprised.

This was a couple of weeks ago now but just to say we had a terrible experience here. After booking a table, we had to wait so long first to be served at all, then for the food to arrive. When it did the pork dish had to be sent back as too salty and not wishing to wait for another opted for steak, which was fine but the side dish ordered was by now cold. Other dish was a vegetarian lasagne which was so average it was unbelievable. Literally served in the dish it was cooked in, itself put on a plate, because dish would have been too hot to handle. No accompaniments not even a sprig of parsley. We were not the only table having problems. One table of 4 also complained about how long their food had taken and the table of 4 next to us left before their food arrived as they had to go to the theatre and were running out of time. I have to say the poor waitresses were doing their best. It seems they were let down by one if not two chefs that evening. OK. These things happen but just be honest and tell the customers there is a wait for food so they can make a judgement on whether to stay or not, but perhaps more importantly do not accept walk ins or at least limit them. The kitchen just could not cope with the orders arriving. We will not return. I hope there is an improvement soon. This is a very big restaurant inside and with outside seating too. It wasnt full inside but was outside. We eat out a lot and this is the first time we have asked for the service charge to be removed. Oh, that wasnt easy either, but done.

Came here with my sister on Saturday evening for dinner. Elisa, our Italian waitress was lovely, We were hugely impressed with the delicious food and timely service , our food was very yummy and perfectly cooked, we would definitely eat here again.
