My uncle had my shroom risotto which he said was amazing . I had seafood linguine and all I can say is heaven ❤️ Without a doubt the best I have ever eaten.

Sunday night so quiet but food was superb. Fresh and cooked to order. I had the salmon and prawn starter which was so tasty will certainly have it again. Followed by the penne Arribiata which was excellent. Better than I had in Italy. Limited menu but the quality of the food superb. Will definately be eating there again, if my waistline can take the extra inches.

Great food, lovely selection of fresh fish and seafood, pasta and risotto. Service was excellent, very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend (only just up the road from village hotel if you're staying there and want some amazing Italian food.)

As always, fantastic food and service. We could not have hoped for more to make my mother's 90th birthday special. Luciano and his staff could not have been more accommodating. Luciano created a vegetarian meal for my sister, based on what ingredients she wanted, which I thought was exceptional service and delighted my sister. Luciano remembered my mother and her palate, who also showed how much she enjoyed the meal by how much she ate (normally, very little). We have eaten at the restaurant several times and never had a poor experience, from coffee outside in the summer to lunchtime meals. My sister ate with her friends in the evening and had a great time. We could not recommend this delightful restaurant more highly.

An odd encounter. Sunday a trip to Hessle for an appointment and needed lunch. Not a fan of carvery happened on this place. A little unassuming. Don't think that! The usual stuff was excellent. What stood out was the service the food and the wine. I have never eaten such amazing seafood linguine the prawns were huge. This is the prawn starter.

I am a regular customer here with my partner, and always have an excellent experience. The authentic italian food is always excellent, with a characterful host and chef. There is always quite a community feel, and although the location is not overly fancy, it is our favourite date spot.

We took advantage of the lunchtime special menu from 12 - 5pm.. £10 for a main course and glass of wine. We all had tortellini and a glass of wine and it was fabulous…the food is cooked from scratch and it was piping hot and full of flavour. We enjoyed the wine that much that we shared a bottle too and topped it off with a tiramisu each! Super little place to meet friends and a very welcome atmosphere..

We had a brilliant time at the mad Italian, the owner and his partner sat with us at the end of our meal and shared some fascinating stories. The food is perfectly cooked and the wine kept flowing. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Italian is my favourite and honestly this is the best restaurant I have tried. It is so true Italian, with Ettore (the owner) cooking everything fresh. The food is AMAZING… lobster linguine and sirloin steak being my favourite dishes. Portions are huge and great price. You feel like you’re in a small restaurant on a holiday in Italy. Lovely atmosphere and the owner himself is so friendly and welcoming. My favourite date night. Always a pleasure.

If you want a truly authentic Italian and that covers both the food and the atmosphere, there is nothing close

Really first rate trattoria. It looks unprepossessing from the outside and it's in a quiet part of town, but inside it's got a nice atmosphere. The food is excellent. Not fancy but simply excellent fresh ingredients prepared well. The a la carte menu looks quite expensive, but we thought it was good value, such is the quality and quantity. For instance my seafood salad consisted of some fresh nicely dressed salad leaves with a very generous portion of fresh seafood; 2 large shell-on prawns, 4 or 5 scallops and lots of smaller shelled prawns and mussels. The service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.
