We've been to Lotus Leaf Stratford a few times. The food is very nice and plentiful. A little overpriced. We've not had any issues with service before until our most recent visit. The server made a mistake with our order and we didn't realise until we went to collect. We spoke to the lady who was giving out the food that a mistake had been made. She said "you want more food, you get back in the queue and you order more food!".

Big portions…of tasteless mush. The plain rice had more flavour than the chicken dish I paid for. Next time I’ll get a better experience by asking someone in Tescos to have a go at me, while I eat a £3 microwave version.

Both of my children wanted to try the food here, my youngest (9yo), is vegetarian and really, really wanted the vegetable dumplings, when we went to order we were told they hadn't got dumplings (what they meant was vegetable dumblings), turns out they didn't have much of the vegetarian selection in stock so the smallest abandoned hope and went elsewhere. My eldest (13yo) ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Noodles and a diet coke, guess what, no diet coke. Despite ordering from this outlet first it was the last of four meals to be ready, not sure why as it clearly wasn't fresh! The noodles were absolutely full of large bits of onion, far, far to much and greasy and the Kung Pao chicken was clearly reheated and gelatinous.... inedible. To top it all they didn't provide chopsticks/cutlery, at first we thought they'd forgotten but when th 13yo went up to ask for some she was told they didn't have any, it took a third trip to the counter with a parent to finally get some... Terrible attitude.

Stopped here for a lunch of stir fry noodles and ordered a portion of chicken dumplings to go with it Was really enjoying our food until we came to eat our dumplings and found there to be steamed flies attached to them. Took the dumplings back and was offered replacement dumplings, needless to say I requested a refund. A very poor apology was given, like the man couldn't really care less. Flies in dumplings are certainly not something I would expect to find at an eatery at Westfield. Would not recommend this place.

Treated myself to lunch out. Couldn’t come back when buzzer goes due to the case I had with me so I waited at the counter and am glad I did as will NOT be eating here again! I saw the cook put my chicken in the microwave and then dump another plate on top of my food!! So the bottom of the other person’s plate that had been sitting on the counter was actually sat in/on my food!!! This was after a 10 minute wait too. I complained to the manager and he brought me another plate of food, yet again microwaved and hot on the edges of the plate but the rest of the chicken in the centre was barely warm. Running out of lunch break I decided to eat the rice instead only to find that hard on the outside and cold, only hot in the middle where it had also been microwaved. The edges of the rice were so hard I have possibly damaged a tooth. Disgusting food not even up to ‘Spoons standards and appalling hygiene. I can well believe the reviewer on google who said they got food poisoning! This food is NOT fresh or even fit to eat!

So unlike the other restaurants at the food court the price you see in the menu isn’t the price you get billed as there is an additional VAT amount so don’t think it’s cheaper! As it may seem that way. The food is standard- good dim sum. I would’ve expected more filling in bbq chicken buns as there less than half a teaspoon perhaps and just the doughy bun which I dipped in sauce to finish it. Malaysian curry was really nice with the noodles loved it Great food !

I was visiting Westfield today & wanted to have late small I explained I didn’t want curry & rice too much big portion I chose prawns new dish with sweet chilli sauce £4.99 He said have small- egg fried rice & drink £11.25 total When food was done - !!! ?? The prawns were so small portion only 4-minute with little tiny bowl sweet chilli sauce The rice was bowl & all dry, I told the girl waitress collecting I can’t eat dry!! So had to order another dish which has gravy & sauce.. £7:95 includes bottle of water I came to lotus leaf with my husband on May- 31st 2021!! This time the food was awful too salty black-bean sauce filled with dark soy sauce and too watery runny Only thing I enjoyed was the prawns starter - I wouldn’t mind paying extra for more prawns The staff are not working to help customers- the girl when I told her that her college wasn’t helpful for my order and I ended up paying nearly £20 for 1-person lunch - fast food, instead of empathy for customer… she started getting defensive saying there is nothing for £10 with drink I told her I understand- you had offer before, I don’t mind paying £11 or £12 but now £20 nearly & I will waste some!! It’s not overly busy today - 31/5/21 was more busier I find customers service training should be given - how to explain and interact with customers- who don’t come often and be helpful to explain the dishes Next to them is indigo which I should of opted for The staff were eager for my custom- but I love Chinese so when to lotus leaf!!! Due to today’s experience…. Will decide to give it a miss next time I come to Westfield Stratford. The food and staff not value for money or pleasant experience, especially today 20/8/21

We have had food here a couple of times in the past. Sometimes the food was really good sometimes it was just good enough. We unfortunately had experienced an extreme low on our last visit where my duck noodles were overcooked to the degree of melting in the mouth no texture or whatsoever. Also, for some reason the duck was accompanied with the skin which made up of about 70% of the "meat" and it was just terrible. on top of all this both my partner and my dish were greasy beyond redemption. I was hungry so i had most of mine but felt sick for hours afterwards. I can liken the experience of drinking a couple of shots of veg oil in quick succession... my partner had the prawns out of the egg fried rice but nothing else apart from it.

Good food, but this is situated in the centre of a food court so finding a table can be tricky in the Westfield shopping centre at busy times (e.g. especially on a Saturday afternoon when West Ham are playing at home). My special deal was a large portion of special fried rice and a can of drink at £10 (for cash only). Really good and freshly cooked. My wife had Sweet and Sour chicken (with a large bowl of rice). A bottle of sparkling water for £1.95 seemed to be taking advantage of customers. You queue to order and pay, receive your drinks and you are given a table buzzer which flashes and vibrates when the food is ready. It took about 20 minutes from queing to order to receiving the food.In summary, good and freshly cooked authentic food, but seating and soft drink prices were disappointing.

I ordered Roast Duck with Jasmine rice yesterday and was very disappointed with the following: 1) The duck tasted cold, like an old meal cooked a few days ago. In fact, it did not have the taste, quality and aroma of a genuine Chinese roast duck! It was tasteless and tough. 2) The meat portion was very small (only 5 tiny pieces of duck). What they lack with the meat was compensated with another tasteless, boiled, pak choi no one even bothered seasoning 3) They claim they are serving Jasmine rice but I can guarantee anyone what was served to me was not Jasmine rice. It was just a plain, white rice. Overall experience was very poor. They need to raise standard, improve the quality and taste of the food they serve.

Eaten here several times. This time the food was very, very disappointing. Prawn bread not edible, hard on the outside, mushy in the middle. Duck and pancake sauce too strong and quite thick. A poor meal, we will go elsewhere next time.

Had the roast duck noodles. Tender and juicy in the inside and skin was really delicious. The shanghainese dumplings were also tasty. The staff behind the counter were really quick and friendly too. Would return.

the place looks nice but the roast duck is very bad. You can't eat it because it is full of bones (small ones) and it really bothers you when eating... a single bite can hurt you whole mouth, like you were eating small, spiked stones.will not come back

I went to visit the restaurant with my friend today. We were in the queue when we noticed that two member of staff were tasting the rice by their hands without gloves in front of the costumers. We were absolutely shocked. It was very disgusting, thats why we had to chose noodles instead of rice. While we were eating the noodles we also noticed that one of the member of staff was touching the cooked noodles without gloves too. This should not be allowed because of Hygiene. We will not go back anymore we were really disappointed.

I have also considered Lotus Leaf as one of the best places among the ones at the Westfield food court. Its shredded duck fried rice has always been tasty. However, today I have ordered the shredded duck noodles paying them almost £9 and I have been really disappointed. In the noodles there was almost no duck meat and a lot pf fat skin. Moreover, even of it was supposed to be boneless, I found two little and sharp bones in the food. If you would like to eat here avoid the noodles and opt for the rice...

The staff were polite, professional and looked like they wanted to be there. We ordered two portions of the roast duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce and one of the vegetable noodles. For a start the roast duck is completely different from anything I've ever had before, be it from a restaurant or takeaway - 99% of the time the duck is still swimming in its own fat or deep fried to hell and back but the duck here was juicy and succulent. The portion that you get is slightly smaller than that of most Chinese takeaways but it's a worthy trade off. The plate of noodles was a bit on the salty side but very tasty and filling even when shared between two people. They do charge £3.25 or something close for a glass of coconut juice (with chunks). Watching the lady pour something you can buy yourself for around £1/2 out of its original packaging and into a glass and then charge you more is kinda painful BUT it's your choice. It was tasty though. If you come here I'm sure you'll enjoy the food as much as I did. I'm Vietnamese and a bit of Chinese so I'm highly critical of any foods from these countries. The only gripe was that the food court needs more staff to clear tables but that's nothing to do with Lotus Leaf. I'll be back!!

We had dinner here after we visited the Olympic Park. The food was great - We both had Szechuan chicken with noodles and the amount of spice was perfect! It is situated in a food court in the shopping centre so great for grabbing a quick meal but you probably wouldn't want to come here for a special occasion.

Located in a food court area. Food looked good. Easy ordering system. Crispy duck - very small portion and NOT crispy. Stir fried noodles with vegetables - tasty. Very expensive for what it is though...

We had dinner there when we visited the shopping mall. The food was served quickly and looked nice. The price wasnt too much either. However the taste was average nothing highly impressive. It certainly wasn't the best Chinese food we had.

Was pleased with the food from Lotus. The meat and dumplings were spectacular. The Kung pow sauce was pretty spicy and decent as well. Was a little over priced. But for all food it was top notch.

The service is fast and the food looks great, but the signature duck dish has a lot of bones. Dumplings are nice, but I bit into something hard and that always ruins it for me. There are way better fast foods in Westfield. Sorry.

Seen some poor reviews, but it looked busy so thought it must have improved and decided to give it a go - bad decision! Food was served up quickly, and the portion sizes were generous. But I couldn't eat any of it as it tasted of nothing but grease. Won't be going back.

Went there couple of years ago and they really messed up the food (In Stratford)So I thought I will give it another try, waited 10 to 15 mins for the food went there and they have given my food to someone else. I did not get an apology from them so I decided I want my money back as they clearly haven't improved on their service but they say to me I can't get my money back without a receipt but I just ordered over 10 mins ago. I would NEVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. from the start to the finish the customer service was horrendous.

I went here with my wife, nephew & nieces after a bit of a shop in Westfield. This place can be found in the food court on the top floor. Really good and quick service. We tried the chicken dumplings which everyone enjoyed and we all ordered an individual main. We all enjoyed are food and would definitely go back. I had the duck with rice, other mains chosen were egg fried rice with duck, scheuzuan chicken with rice, noodles with prawns and another fried rice dish. We had free tap water with our food. I really like the setup, just order and pay for the food, go find a seat anywhere and once your buzzer rings go pick up the food and enjoy.

Ordered veggie gyoza and chicken schezuan. The gyoza tasted mostly of the pastry and no flavour to the filling. Served with a strong malt-like vinegar on the side which is not what I'd expect. For the schezuan I was expecting a nice fresh dish with fresh chilli instead it was like a spicy version of sweet and sour dish; very sweet and sugary. I was also unimpressed that I ordered water and the girl who gave me my meal tray couldn't give me the water, rather I had to walk around to the other side of the counter to collect it. This is not the best approach for the customer especially if you are juggling shopping bags etc.Overall fairly disappointing and I would recommend the other restaurants in the food hall.
