Lotus House in Harlow

First time using tonight. Great service from the lady who served me. Good portions on the chinese. The chow main is jawdropping, I can't see anyone doing it better. The only thing I would say is the sweet and sour sauce is very sweet, but they do put it in a separate container. If they changed thier sauce this would be unstoppable!

Chips were very nice, flavour and texture wise but I asked for extra salt and vinegar and they still seemed to be lacking it. The portion (ordered large) was also pretty small not even big enough for 2 people

My local, and I have friends who come from the other side of the town to buy food from here. We have been going here since the mid 1970s.

First time tryed this Chinese was greeted with big smiles 2 lovely friendly Chinese girls helped me to the car with my order super friendly food was nice too they chucked in free drinks for my order everyone was happy with there food good job! See you again soon

Food is not bad but sometimes there is hardly any chicken in the chicken Charmaine

Not sure if this place has been taken over or has a new chef but things aren’t quite the same anymore . The last few times, I’ve been very disappointed . Does anyone know what’s happened ?

Great Nostalgic Chinese Takeaway! The food is always tasty and it's reasonably priced. I am extremely impressed with my food being done on time considering how ram packed the shop was for valentine's.

Quick turnaround from order to collection but the food was just rubbish. Ordered a chicken curry, crispy chilli beef, chicken chow mein and egg fried rice. Chilli beef was bland as anything and had not a hint of chilli, seemed to have been tossed in a dab of sweet and sour sauce and that's it. The curry sauce was unlike any I've ever had from a Chinese before and was also bland with not a hint of spice to it. Chicken was just odd. The whole lot was just tasteless except for a really weird taste in the chow mein. Ended up chucking it in the bin. Maybe I've just caught them on a bad day as there seems to be some pretty good reviews, but I wouldn't chance trying again to find out, sorry.

Staff were super friendly, however the food was bland and the sweet and sour dish, had an awful tangy taste to it, the chilli beef was a big miss for me as well, this is not authentic Chinese TAKEAWAY food.

I love this local eatery. The people are so friendly and the food is delicious! I have introduced this place to a few family members who love it also. The only reason I have rated it as 4 for atmosphere is that sometimes the local people can be so rowdy that it disturbs the easy going and friendly vibe in the takeaway.

Much better Chinese in Harlow. Give the sweet and sour chicken Peking style a miss.

Proper Chinese. Great owners/staff. Super friendly. Good tasted REALLY good and not at all over priced! First time there and they gave us free prawn crackers and served with a BIG smile! Food tasted really good! Like a proper Chinese. No seating but meh that's fine! What more could you ask for? Definitely worth a try!

Lotus house is with out doubt the best tastiest Chinese in Harlow I'm John with little black bulldog who eats there regularly I have lived all over Harlow and never eaten better Chinese staff are polite friendly well mannered and trust worthy they are a credit to all Chinese restaurants food is more then top class its Chinese food from the God's

Ordered King Prawn curry with egg fried rice. I didnt know they put carrots in a curry so was surprised to find some in my curry. I dont like carrots so had to remove them. The prawns were huge and lots of lovely onions too. A very generous portion of egg fried rice and the whole meal was complete. Really enjoyed it. Fair price too.

Ordered Singapore rice noodles but got maggi noodles...! Fish and chips and Chinese in a same place bit confusing and alarming..! Not going to order again

Friendly family run business. You can buy Fish and chips, old Fashion style Chinese (tasty and full of flavour), pie and chips, saveloy's or sausage in batter. There's something for everyone. And the food is always good quality and portions.

This place is one of the best Chinese take aways I have ever known. Just try the Singapore noodles that's all saying and the chicken curry is amazing. Really good value and they are good people.

It was nice. Ordered special chow mein, Singapore fried rice and Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken. Cost around £14 first time trying here and I've had better elsewhere but would still buy again.

I enjoyed my order and I will definitely be going back. Amazing and tasty. Loved every bit of it. Xxx Hannah

Been coming here for quite a few years. Friendly staff, clean premises, never had a bad meal. Particularly like their chicken foo yung, salt n pepper squid and singapore noodles.

Cheap and delicious food-always fresh, friendly staff, could do with card payments though.

Great chip shop I think best Chinese in Harlow! Shame it doesn't do delivery but worth the drive for good food👍 staff always friendly and and quick plus make the effort to remember u and give my daughter a fortune cookie when she comes with me 👍 I know they don't cost them much but it's a kind thing to do and my little girl always appreciates it .

Got to be the best Chinese takeaway in Harlow. We've tried loads just because they deliver but this ones worth going to collect.

Salt and Pepper Prawns :-) And any chow mien. Cheap, cheerful and good hygiene rating. Started using again after some ten years. Still a great takeaway
