Good food. Friendly and polite service. As regards atmosphere, it's a takeaway. I suppose if a giant panda gave you a massage while you waited among beautiful hanging gardens it would improve the experience somewhat but it's just a good Chinese takeaway. Recommended.

Been going for years every week, never had issues New person behind counter, twice had order wrong now wont go back Should have know its gone down hill when drivers were coming back with wrong orders aswell

We discovered Lotus Garden a few years ago. The food has always been excellent. Credit where credit is due, I previously posted a well deserved excellent review. It has been a little while since we have bought a meal from there, so, tonight I placed an order. Special Fried Rice, a portion of Bamboo Shoots with Water Chestnuts and a carton of Curry Sauce. Please tell me, have they got a new chef. The rice was so overcooked it was dry and clumpy. The king prawns in the rice, again was way overcooked they were inedible. The pork was full of gristle and the Curry sauce was so so watery. What a blooming waste of money with most of it ending in the bin. Never again people, time for a change me thinks.

Chicken curry not as nice as it used to be it was cold chips were awful staff forgot to order sweet and sour sauce my husband stated. Very disappointed not worth £17 will not visit again

I ordered vegetable chow mein in sauce for my daughter. They gave me prawn chow mein (special chow mein) but my daughter is vegetarian/vegan and won't eat it. I took it back and asked for what we ordered but the 'manager' said it was our mistake and refused to change it. So I won't be going back. It's a pity because the food is pretty good and I'd been a regular for many years. To be honest the grasp of English is not good and when ordering you often have to say things several times. I'd be grateful if others would not use this takeaway until we receive an apology for what was their error. You can go to the New Red Lantern in the centre of town which is pretty good too. They are friendly and you probably won't have these problems. Thank you.

No offense, but food was beyond terrible. Chicken wings were not marinated. Fried rice was pale. Chicken balls were equally bad. Hot chilli& sweet sauce tasted like sweet jam. Ribs, noodles and fries were okay but too oily. Overall, for the late night dinner and the paper currency notes they didn't accept for which I had to go to an ATM; Definitely was an extremely off putting experience. I genuinely think they should work on their food quality. Customer service was okay. Hope they take this as a constructive criticism.

For the first time we tried a meal from the Lotus Garden. Our choice was based on our love of Chinese cuisine, plus the many brilliant reviews regarding this takeaway. We were greeted by very friendly staff who assisted with our choice of meal. Can I say we were not disappointed, everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. We ordered from here tonight for the second time. Food delivered by a lovely friendly man spot on time. We ordered a portion of chicken and sweetcorn soup which was deffo the best we have ever tasted, salt and pepper ribs - delicious, and a prawn curry with rice. The food was amazing and portions enough to serve 2of us. Good prices, good service we will be back. Thank you

Wow all I can say, first time buyers as staying local in Lambton Worm and looking for a Saturday night treat, got set meal for 2 and it was excellent, curry great, beef great. ribs great, balls and rolls great, staff great wish we had the same back in Billingham xx
