The food quality is poor processed chicken in curry sauce, weak satay sauce not impressed Service was quick and polite. Definitely not as good as it used to be

I've been going to this take away for over 40 years. I called and ordered the usual meals. To be fair the meat in the specials was really good curry was a bit bland. Spent over £24 so got free salt and pepper chips. They were mushy and again were just bland. Threw them away. I know all businesses are struggling now and I really wanted the food to be as good as before. Sadly it wasn't. Won't be going back.

We absolutely love Lotus. Although it is more on the pricey side, it’s definitely worth it! The portion sizes are huge and everything is cooked brilliantly. The pancake rolls are crispy and full of meat and prawns! The chicken in OK sauce is a huge hit. We usually ask for some dishes to be ‘extra spicy’ and we are never disappointed! They know how to add heat using fresh green chillies. The salt and pepper chips are amazing. The pork satay is also very tasty. There is no option for delivery but when you go in to collect the food is always ready. Brilliant customer service and free extras when you spend over a certain amount!

Worst take-away we've had for years, I mean how do you make a hot n sour soup so tasteless? Duck in plum used to be a fresh duck breast, now its some microwaved rubbery tasteless blob. Bland overpriced food. Avoid, you have been warned!

The Lotus has been a favourite Chinese takeaway in Guiseley for many years and it is easy to see why it is so popular, the food is always first class if slightly more expensive than other outlets, the portion sizes are very generous though which I feel more than makes up for it, we have used the Lotus on numerous occasions over the years and don't recall ever having a sub standard meal. The only drawback is that they do not offer a delivery service but this is only a minor inconvenience and it is well worth the effort to to collect a great meal, will continue to use and recommend in the future.

this take away has now changed hands and the food is now very poor and over priced. I ordered salt and pepper ribs cost @ £6.70 i Recieved about 7-8 ribs. This takeaway back in the day sold the best salt and pepper ribs. Disappointing.

So glad we didn't give up on Lotus - fat chips are back. So enjoyed our curries with the usual fat chips. Will keep us going back.

Been coming here for years - always look forward to staying in Guiseley. Disappointingly no fat chips with my curry. Outrageous - hope they've changed them back by the time we visit again

Been coming her for 30 years now, says it all, but of late big fat lovely chips have gone, taken over by frozen, then after loads of complaints now says fresh, but not the home made they use,d to do, when asked they said the older sister was now too old to do it, so cone on younger sister, learn from your sibling, until you do I'm going elsewhere

Used to be good but ! Now frozen chips and poor salty food Would not recommend totally waste of money

Have been coming here for years, in fact every time we visit family. Good value for money, quick service and always friendly. Just wish they would go back to doing fat chips, so much nicer with the curry sauce

Sorry to say that this take away has now changed hands after a few decades, and the food is now sub standard, tried it twice just to give a chance, but will no longer be going there, shame, as I have been eating the food from here since about 1980

Have been coming here for many years, every time we visit family and look forward to curry and chips. Was just disappointed that the chips weren't as fat as usual, a little scrappy but the curry was the usual standard. Will keep coming back

Being driving to this Chinese from Otley for well over 20 years but over the last month the food has defiantly changed .. And not for the better ! Different chip , chicken curry not the same , also the special fried rice all different .. I asked about this in the take away and was told it was the same and same chef !! I'm gutted and won't be back :(

First let me say that I think the review by hlv92 must be about somewhere else as it stakes checking out a new Chinese, but Lotus has been in the same place and in the same family since the seventies. I find the staff friendly and the food superb, this is by far the best Chinese take away in Guiseley. I would give it five stars except they offer no delivery service, which is a shame as this means we sometimes order from elsewhere not quite as good but not having to leave the house.

I went here to test a new Chinese and it was absolutely vile. The salt and pepper chips were rubbish the chips tasted oily and greasy. They were supposed to be salt and pepper chips they had no onions, peppers in them just a couple of chillies. The chicken chow mein tasted of grease and had no flavour. I was so disappointed. Even though it was a Saturday night, it's no excuse. I most definitely won't be off back here. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Every time we visit locally we always have a meal from here - in fact have lost count of the amount of times we have been here over the years, always a treat. Pleasant staff, quick service and great food. What more can you ask?
