Los Banditos in Lichfield

I have to be honest - I’ve ordered from Toluca tonight. Half the order didn’t show up. They didn’t pick up the phone. They called back said sorry ask for a refund but they weren’t interested in delivering the food. That’s all we wanted. Never ordering again!

We have used this place before for delivery and its been good quality food. We ordered via delivery app and I'm so disapointed. The food was cold when we received it. That's more an issue for the delivery. However the quality of the gyros was so poor. We ordered chicken and halloumi gyros. The menu says there is seasoned fries in it.. there wasn't.. there was hardly any chicken and hardly any halloumi. It was mainly a lettuce wrap with very little flavour. We also had a portion of loaded fries. They were nice and the nachos we ordered were perfect. It'll be a while before we give them another go though.

Overall a very clean, modern place. Average customer service, slightly long wait time, but this might’ve been due to the number of large parties being served when we visited. Since it’s in such an enclosed space, it can get really loud, really quickly. I will say it was VERY overpriced. The meals are mediocre and come in small portions considering most are priced at £15-20. I would’ve been happy to pay it if the food at least tasted interesting, but the flavours were so bland. I wouldn’t say it was close to Mexican-style food at all. I did enjoy the nachos, although that was also a very small portion for the price.

Below average food, service and atmosphere. Extremely noisy venue with live music thrown so impossible to have any sort of conversation! Service pretty awful and food very average. Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend

My partner suggested Toluca for our next night out. I'd walked past Los Banditos here before - unsure if it's run by the same folks but in any case, we were happy to find that Lichfield still had a Mexican place. It was super easy to book over the phone, and we visited during the week so while the restaurant was busy, it was an enjoyable vibe and not packed. The restaurant design is modern: wood panelling, neon signs and large tables. We skipped starters so that we could have churros for dessert (naturally). I went for a halloumi and pulled-chicken taco, and my partner had the beef burrito. The flavours were fantastic and the portion sizes were perfect; I was a bit worried when I read that it came with both side-salad and fries but the meal was nicely plated up with just the right amount of food. The meals were just shy of £20 each which is a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but Toluca pride themselves on using fresh produce and what we ate was worth every penny. Next time I'd love to try the minted lamb gyro now that I have a better idea of the portion sizes and what to expect. The churros were also delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive, especially our waitress Isabelle, but they were also happy to leave you alone a while to make your selections from the menu and let your food settle, etc. and not rush you. Everything is prepped fresh but we weren't kept waiting ages for food to come out, either. All in all, I'd be very happy to suggest Toluca, especially for groups of pals or work nights out - they do platters on the menu and the food in general lends itself very well to sharing etc. and there's a great casual vibe. I'd really like to come again during a night where there's live music to add to the atmosphere. Would recommend!

I have been to Toluca many times and have always enjoyed the food and it has been full of flavour and portions were great. However, I went recently and the food was VERY bland and on the smaller side. You could tell that it was cooked by a white girl that’s allergic to seasoning. Lack of flavour is a massive issue for a Mexican restaurant and I suggest they take a look at their kitchen staff and get rid of whoever’s allergic to flavour and seasoning before they rapidly lose business.

Been hear a couple of times good value for money and tasty food available, good selection of drinks 2-4-1 cocktails are very good and have a very good range. The burrito sharer is really good and would recommend.

A group of us had an early evening meal after a theatre trip. The food and service were pleasant but not special. We did find it unbearably noisy particularly due to the group of loud drunk women near us but mainly because the walls floor and ceiling are all concrete and reflect all the noise back at you which ramps up the volume. Even when the drunk women had left the noise stayed at levels that made conversation difficult. Probably won't be returning

A really really disappointing visit which unfortunately ended with us leaving and getting a take-away. We have been previously and had an enjoyable time, food was good and service was fine. However this time things look to have taken a nose dive. Each time we were served aside from drinks took an age. The restaurant wasn’t full, so unclear why. Other diners also didn’t appear to be getting meals. We had booked in advance so no indication of over booking and it didn’t appear overly full. Our starters came and were warm not hot, but we carried on thinking this was a one off. It then took circa 40 minutes before the meals started to arrive piecemeal, all cold. We returned them and they came back warmed up piecemeal or not at all. The quality also looked poor. Nacho Burger was a Nacho on a burger and salad £18… We chased the waitress and colleagues who all appeared under pressure and one girl was almost visibly upset. No Manager on site, no support and or guidance which has been mentioned in a previous review. The staff took the drinks and uneaten / not arrived food off the bill and we left, hungry and off to the Chinese!!! We won’t be returning which is a real shame but we just don’t want to risk the same thing happening again, and to be fair wish we had been more firm on paying for less given the overall experience.

Had our Christmas Meal at tolucas last night, such a great night, great food great atmosphere, would definitely recommend

First off, this review is for Toluca - same address, same theme, different name. Food was great, not cheap but not silly expensive. Very enjoyable. However service not so. I think 3 were serving and all kids. I’ve nothing against kids but they certainly lacked any customer service skills. I’m not saying rude or anything like that but they were just ‘gormless’. I think lady behind bar was the ‘leading’ kid of the (Sunday) night and least she held door and thanked us when we left. Food came without plates, then without cutlery. Even paying was hard work, I had to get MY calculator out as they could not comprehend, part cash, part card and ironically tip! Before letting the loose on their own, give them some mentorship. You are only as good as the staff you employ !

Nice clean restaurant. Excellent service. Really good value for money. Big portions for the set price lunch menu. The food is fresh, authentic and delicious!!!! The toilets are immaculate. Would be lovely in the evening for dinner with cocktails. Highly recommended.

Amazing experience. Staff are lovely and really helpful, the food was amazing! I had the Cajun Spiced Cod and my wife had the Minted Lamb Gyro and they were both delicious! I'd love to know how you make your pesto as it was the best I've ever had. The staff were all lovely and very attentive, my wife found the Tutti Fruity cocktail a bit too sweet (just her taste) and this was taken away and remade to her taste, which was really nice. The live singer was great, and the atmosphere was too. Will definitely be back soon.

Unfortunately most of the dishes were just not that great. The chips with shredded chicken were ok. The mozzarella sticks had SO much salt on they were entirely inedible. The sweetcorn fritters were more onion and pepper fritters - neither of which we like, so had we known, we would not have ordered. The corn on the cobs were watery and bland - certainly not a chilli heat to them. The cauliflower bites were ok in flavour but greasy and soggy

As lovers of Mexican food we were really looking forward to this meal at the restaurant now called Toluca. We visited on a weekday evening and the restaurant was quite busy. We still received friendly and efficient service and soon ordered our food and cocktails. We started with a selection tapas style dishes and they were all delicious, especially the belly pork. The disappointment was the main courses, we ordered three different dishes that involved tortillas and the fillings were lovely. Unfortunately the tortillas were too thick, and made the dishes far less appetising. We were also disappointed with the salad garnish - hardly Mexican style salad. Overall it was perfectly acceptable but it could have been a lot better. I make fresh tortillas myself and it isn't difficult to roll them out thinly - perhaps this was a blip on the day.

We visited Los Banditas on a Saturday lunchtime having found it hidden away down a modern shopping walkway in Lichfield. These days we have to check menus for gluten free options - sigh - and there were lots of options available. We were seated quickly and attended promptly by a very friendly waitress. The food was excellent - we had 4 different tapas dishes. You could tell it was home prepared when the hummus arrived. The different, but equally friendly waitress who cleared our table, confirmed the food is prepared in house. Apparently the restuarant is due to be renamed in April 2022 so we hope the positive reviews carry forwards. You know what, the only itsy bitsy complaint is the use of single use plastic straws in the cocktails.

This is our second visit here and we would 100% recommend. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you feel welcomed and enjoy your duration with them. Liv particularly was amazing - excellent service. The food - wow! Exceptional!! Just wish we had one closer to home here in Wales! Keep up the great work guys! A hidden gem for sure!

Over an hour after ordering, we chased up our starters to find it had been served to someone else. We finally got our starters after nearly 90 minutes. By 9pm, two hours after arriving, we had not got the main course and with no idea when due, we came home. Staff did apologies for the poor service and reduced the bill, however I still ended up paying for drinks that we only consumed because we expected an evening meal out.

We booked a table of 10 to arrive at 8:30 for food and drinks. On arrival the table wasn't ready, so we had to wait outside the restaurant for 5 minutes. When seated it took half an hour for us to get a first round...

Excellent food, drinks and service. Los Banditos is always a hit with our family. The cod was very tasty and the kids loved their milkshakes.

Just got home after a visit here. Well, what a disappointment!!! Ordered the fajita that you build yourself, but where? Needed a large plate but no, everything was separate. The chicken was so overcooked and had obviously been kept warm that I couldn’t cut it....

I went to this place to have a cocktail what a mistake. We ordered a Margarita and a pina colada within 5 mins of being in there the fire alarm went off and no real reaction from the staff. Which caused me some serious concern....

I know it is very difficult to find authentic Mexican food in this country, but there are a few restaurants. The Banditos is not one of them. They have a good approximation to Tex-Mex. On the positive side, the food is well served and tasty....

Visited here on a day out in Lichfield and was so happy we chose here for our lunch. The food was amazing and the staff were great. Very reasonable prices and generous portions.

Can’t praise the staff enough for being accommodating, friendly and efficient. I think it was the manager who went above and beyond when one person in our group became unwell (not covid! Heat stroke!). Great food, fairly quick service but definitely worth the short wait....

Ordered a large takeaway for my family. The food was incredible, even my fussy children were happy! We had a selection from across the menu, the jalapeño poppers were particularly tasty and the chilli was obviously homemade. The order arrived within the allocated delivery slot and was siltill hot. Will definitely be ordering from there again. Oh and my delivery driver wore a mask and followed my request of a doorstep delivery ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We have eaten at Los Banditos a number of times and ordered takeaway from them during lockdown. The food is nice and the restaurant/phone service is lovely, but please don't send a delivery guy to my door who can't be bothered to cover his face and stands too close to me - I've had Covid-19 and I don't want to catch it again!

Tried to order a Delivery this Evening- realise we are just outside their delivery area but there would have been 3 or maybe 4 diff families orderingTried to compromise and meet in the next village where they were already delivering to tomorrow evening but no they were already delivering 2 or 3 meals to that village!Why not make it 6 or 7? Bad management - I thought restaraunts were struggling!!

I had the Jackfruit Burrito and my partner had the Beef Enchiladas, such nice food, tastes authentic and decent portions. Only slight criticism would be the chips, they don't seem to travel very well but other than that a perfect takeaway. Looking forward to lockdown being over and being able to visit the new restaurant.

We've ordered from here a few times since lockdown and it's always perfect. Had a takeaway Christmas Eve treat tonight with tacos, gyro, brownie and churros and all amazing. Delivery was five minutes late which we didn't mind at all but they sent us a free cocktail and the delivery driver was so lovely. Can't wait to visit the new restaurant when lockdown is over.

We had a takeaway from los bandits, this is the first time eating from there but definitely won't be the last! We have already recommended it to local friends. We had Nacho's to share, they were delicious, plenty portion wise. We also ordered the mixed kebab wrap, the meat was so tender and the flavors were fantastic. I struggled to eat it all but as it was so nice I couldn't leave any!

We were greeted by such friendly staff who were extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome! And gave us extra fries just because one portion was on the small side, without request - really kind staff! However it’s just a shame the food doesn’t match... the people cooking your food seem to know nothing about Mexican food. We’re all vegetarian, and there were great options, however it was so incredibly bland - I’ve had better Mexican food from my local pub chain (for much cheaper). We all tried different things and all were equally as disappointing. It’s a shame and I really do hope changes are made because it’s a lovely environment with lovely staff!

AMAZING SERVICE & FOOD Me and my husband ordered for the first time from Los Banditos last night. We were unsure if they covered our area (Clayhanger, Brownhills) The very helpful young lady I spoke to on the phone advised us of the delivery slots for our area (rather surprised as it’s a good 6 miles) our food was delivered at the agreed time and the young lad that delivered our food was very friendly. We will certainly be ordering again, thank you for the great food and friendly service.

Ordered a delivery takeaway, simply fabulous. They chatted out our choices on the phone, and the result didn’t disappoint. I sited in person numerous times and the takeaway was equally as fabulous.

Had a fantastic take away this evening. It started with the lovely friendly service from the lady over the phone who took their time to answer our queries and note adjustments to a meal as one of our daughters isn’t keen on spice. The food arrived only shortly after the agreed time and was delivered with a smile and a pleasant “enjoy your meal” We all really enjoyed our meals. 3 of us chose the chefs specials and others ate of the regular off the regular menu. They were very tasty, full of flavour. Good portion sizes. And not too expensive. Leaving us full and content . Nice to share a different take away together. Will definitely order again and looking forward to the restaurant reopening so can come and enjoy a meal...... maybe without the teenagers though!!!

First time trying Los Banditios went very well. We absolutely love Mexican food but it is so hard to find places that serve it! The food was outstanding and the cocktails were even better. Great atmosphere, friendly service and good Covid measures in place. Will definitely be returning!

This was our first time in the new restaurant, but have visited the old premises many times. Also used the delivery service throughout lockdown. Didn’t disappoint! Scott is the best waiter and host out there! The rest of the team were attentive and friendly too. Totally enjoyed every minute and the food was incredible as always. There was a hiccup with one of our orders but it was dealt with professionally - no problems. They really couldn’t have done any more to make our evening any better. And the cocktails - well, impossible to stop at one. Well done everyone - see you soon.

Impromptu trip to this restaurant yesterday due to a number of bars within the Lichfield area being fully booked for groups of six. What can I say? Fabulous service, great food and drink and the added benefit of a live musician playing in the background. The owner Ross couldn’t have been more accommodating to us and the wider guests. Place has a really good vibe which is sadly lacking at a number of other venues in Lichfield. Already booked to go back next Saturday. Definitely worth a trip if you like great Mexican good in a lively setting.

We have had quite a few takeaways from here over the last few months and really happy that now we can get delivery! Food is always great, i recommend the bravas, wings meatballs and nachos.. not a massive fan of the chicken quesadilla... it’s nice but there’s just so much chicken in it! Looking forward to our next meal!

Wow! Just tried Los Banditos for the first time since we moved to Lichfield - so glad we have this place on our doorstep. Food was sooooo good, really tasty, good portions...can’t wait to have another one. We had a bit of a mix - quesadilla, enchilada and tacos ...all great. Had a couple of cocktails too which were super tasty. All good value too. Highly recommended.

We had home delivery as a birthday treat, delivery was prompt. We ordered some lemongrass and lime chicken for the kids, beef nachos, two burgers and a quesadilla, with chips and dirty fries. All very good, all extremely flavoursome. The bread on the burgers was a pretzel-style bun which was lovely. Nachos were fantastic. Will definitely use this place again but hopefully eat in next time once it's up and running as a restaurant following all of this lockdown chaos.

Chicken Burrito was excellent and so were the fries. Service prompt, waitress ladies were friendly. Decor a bit more for the young market but good enough for a lunchtime bite. Prices reasonable. Take away available too.

Ordered an amazing feast of various foods. We had the chicken enchiladas, house nachos, tapas items and some desserts! The food was exceptional - very tasty! Delivery service was very efficient too and food arrived hot. Well done Los Banditos Lichfield, I will be highly recommending you to friends. Looking forward to when you reopen your new extended restaurant as we will definitely be paying you a visit.

We’ve been to Los Banditos a few times and enjoyed it, so were delighted to find they were delivering during the lockdown. We ordered beef burrito, chicken quesadilla, dirty rice, fries and nachos. We have visited the restaurant a couple of times prior to lockdown so decided to have a takeaway with current circumstances not permitting us to eat in. We were not disappointed!!Safely delivered, food was hot and everything just as good as when we ate at the restaurant. The amount of food you get for your money is brilliant. The burritos are particularly jam packed and one of my favourites. It’s fresh, very tasty and the nachos are amazing Yes cocktails come in takeaway cups as mentioned by someone but honestly it really doesn’t take much effort to poor it into a glass at home (unless possibly your not sophisticated enough to own any) ‍♀️Highly recommend!!

I can’t give these guys a high enough review. The food was absolutely amazing !!! Value for money, delivered on time, tasty and the portions generous. The staff are so friendly and the delivery safe. This place is a MUST for takeaways and I can’t wait till the Restuarant re opens !

Ordered a takeaway last week, food was great, delivered on time and still nice and hot. Washed down nicely with some lovely cocktails.

Take away for four. It took an hour & 15 mins to arrive. We would have better going to Iceland’s frozen party section. Cocktails arrived in coffee cups... were cheap pre mixed & full of ice... (la reve we’re much better!) Churros came with a drip of a dip & the lettuce was mouldy. Just rubbish.

I agree with the last review. We had high hope's for a first 'lockdown' takeaway but were left very disappointed. The restaurant is opposite Iceland supermarket in the town centre and I fully believe this is where they get their food...I have nothing against Iceland or its frozen party food but I do feel aggrieved that I paid £50 to have it deep fried and left on my doorstep.

Ordered a delivery last night, ordered over the phone very easily and food arrived exactly on time. We ordered the tacos with sweet potato fries, margarita cocktails and churros for dessert. Everything was amazing! The food was delicious and fresh and the cocktail was amazing. Especially recommend the churros. I’ve also eaten in here a few times prior to lockdown and have never been disappointed! Highly recommend this place!

Amazing dinner delivered tonight for the whole family, complete with fantastic margarita cocktails! All delivered on time and hot. Great food, great value and great service during these difficult times! I will definitely use this place regularly during lock down and much more when the restaurant is back open!

Due to Covid-19 issues we ordered a take out. We’ve been a few times for a sit down meal and we’ve always had a lovely meal. The service was quick and friendly over the phone and we had delicious chicken burritos, sweet potato fries and cheesy nachos delivered within 40 minutes. Would definitely recommend and will be using again!

A group of 11 of us recently went to Los Banditos to celebrate a friends birthday. The staff were so wonderfully accommodating, prepared the table beautifully for us and the service was fantastic. Delicious food too! Will definitely visit again. Thank you Josh, Emily and Charlotte for waiting on all of us so well.

Came here for a family lunch recently. We absolutely loved our meal here! The decor is so fresh and modern and really ties in with the Mexican theme! The food was beautiful and the lunch menu was so moderately priced! All of the staff we encountered were super friendly and the food came out quickly! Exactly what you need if you are on a quick lunch break!

4 of us went to eat at Los Banditos last week, prior to an event at St. Mary's Hub. As we were early the restaurant wasn't busy, and we were in time to eat off the lunch menu. We had 4 different starters and tried 3 different main courses and all of the food was freshly prepared and well received. The portion sizes for a lunch menu were more than sufficient and no-one left hungry. Whilst we were there the restaurant started to fill up and had a lively atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly, so all in all just the job.

Went for lunch, it was very cold. Food was very greasy and bland, service was slow, one overworked and unfriendly waitress and 2 behing bar chatting and laughing. £30 for lunch and we left hungry.

Saw this restaurant while out shopping, booked a table for 2, the whole meal was worth every penny cocktails were amazing really enjoyed all our food and drinks. The staff were very nice and not a bad price for what we wanted

This was our first visit. Nice venue and friendly staff. Sadly the food was a little disappointing. My chicken had clearly been sat under the lamp for a while and was like chewing on a tyre. Churros portion was small for the price, and my son left his ice cream - which is unheard of. Too much sauce and sprinkles made it too sickly for him! The other half of our party did enjoy their food though. This could be a great restaurant and I think it has a lot to offer. Just need to get the heating on - we sat in our coats most of the night.

Having seen that a previous reviewer wasn’t happy about the wait for the food, I would say that we were warned that the food would take a while as it was cooked from scratch, but when it arrived it was fresh and delicious! It is nice to have a different type of cuisine in Lichfield, and if you like Mexican food this is definitely worth a visit, as long as you don’t want fast food. Good beer too!!

Well what can I say excellent food freshly cooked so not worried about waiting.This is a nice little restaurant with reasonable prices and excellent friendly staff.We will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

We planned to have a quick light lunch here, but the service was so slow that I had to go out mid-way in pouring rain to buy another parking ticket for the Bird Street car park. We waited half an hour for our starters, and when we enquired how long we might wait for our main course, the server said it was “being prepared” and offered to package it to take away with us! I’m not clear how she thought this would solve the problem – we came out for lunch, not for a takeaway! I don’t know whether she thought we might eat it in the car – the temperature was 4°C – or whether we would eat it cold at home after an 8-mile drive! The main course arrived exactly an hour after we entered the restaurant, and there was no explanation or apology for the delay.

The food was excellent, some of the best tapas and churros I've tasted.

We visited midweek and had the lunchtime menu. There was a large choice of starters and mains. For starters my husband had chicken wings which were huge and he said very tasty. I had grilled halloumi, which came with a salad. Our burrito and quesadilla mains were delicious too, with fresh salad and dips. It was a perfect size for a lunch menu. The service was good and our waitress was friendly. We would return again, a great little independent restaurant.

Having never been to a Mexican restaurant before, I didn't know what to expect, but I was delighted by the service and the quality of the food, the staff made us really welcome, and made this a great experience, we will definitely be returning.

Previously visited your boldmere branch and loved it so , on a recent visit to Lichfield , my mom and I decided to call in for lunch . Just as expected lovely food and a wonderful atmosphere . Our waitress , Paula, went above and beyond and is a fantastic asset to your company .will reccomend and return . Fabulous
