Los Amigos in Tameside

Had passed this restaurant on my travels and decided last moment to visit, did not make a booking, if they were full there a few places nearby where we could eat. In the restaurant we were given a table and the full back row was held for birthday party, the menu’s were explained to us in great detail and informed all dishes could be changed to suit out taste. Dishes started to arrive and we enjoyed the different tastes, at the same time more people arrived for party behind us, a gent came over to apologise and offer us a drink, we declined this as none of it was impacting our enjoyment. We could not fault, any of dishes we got, all were enjoyable. All had unique tastes and non-fell below expectations. In all it was worth the 20 minutes, taxi drive to reach the restaurant, will be visiting in the very near future.

I'm really surprised there are a few reviews here not happy with the food/service - we had a wonderful meal for the 6th time and as always the food & service was excellent - the portions are really good compared to Manchester City Centre tapas restautants and the house white was superb - keep the good work up team and thank you - we will be retuning

We ordered 5 dishes & 2 drinks. I think the taste of food was mostly nice (one dish was frozen inside) however the portion sizes and prices did not match. Unless you’re planning on spending £100 on dinner for 2, I wouldn’t recommend. We’re on our way to get a kebab to compensate.

Busy Saturday night , was nice , staff lovely although would prefer garlic dips rather than garlic mayo ... and sangria tasted watered down .. would go again .

First time in this beautiful restaurant , family meal celebrating our grandson's exam results, the food was delicious, drinks and cocktails amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond for 1st class service, will definitely be going back 🤗thank-you for a lovely evening 😊

Food was terrible server wasn’t very warming or nice won’t be back eat out a lot and this has got to be the worst in a while

Went to Los Amigos Sunday tea time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a lovely meal served by very pleasant and efficient staff. We had, jumbo wings, barbecue pork ribs, meat balls, chicken skewers, patatas bravas and a feta salad and they were all brilliant. Although we were quite full after that feast, we forced ourselves to have a dessert and shared a lovely tiramisu and ice cream. Couple of pints of San Miguel for me and a couple of white wines for the boss which she topped off with a Kahlua coffee. A very wonderful evening!!

Seafood paella omg out of this world am a chef and no one ever makes my dinner and it was truly amazing all of it starters , well done chef really good food nice change its been a while thank you

We found this place recently . We love Tapas and have struggled to find a nice one locally Decor is modern. Venue is very clean Lovely welcome. Fast efficient service. Food is gorgeous and reasonably priced We will visit again

Had a good family meal, a nice intro to Spanish food, though not the most authentic, however, that said everything was tasty, well presented and good portion size. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. But please, get rid of the frozen mushrooms.

Very hard working staff on a busy Thursday evening food was very tasty we had vegetarian by choice lovely dishes well presented friendly efficient staff whilst working under staffed.

booked a table for two recently, place looked very clean and staff very nice but they did look a little under staffed? the staff waiting on were very busy all the time but did a great job. we ordered quite a few dishes maybe one too may to finish and enjoyed everything we had thanks to all the staff.

We visited Los Amigos with friends on a Saturday night. Food was lovely, very tasty, we all enjoyed each of the Tapas we ordered. Loved the friendly staff who enjoyed some banter with us, all in all a very friendly relaxed evening with lovely food.

We were recommended to come here by our son and we were not disappointed. We had five different tapas and enjoyed them all. We are frequent visitors to Spain where we often have tapas. I must say that the patatas bravas here were the best we have ever had. I am planning another visit be t week and will bring my girl friends this time.

Visited tonight for the first time. Really nice restaurant. Great food. Had 5 dishes plus the bread basket. Food brought out quickly and Great quality. Recommend the meatballs & patata bravas. Only negative really was the lack of music to drown out the really loud family sat behind us! Otherwise great service

First family meal we've had since lockdown and had a lovely time! The staff were wearing masks and tables were fairly spread out which made us feel really safe. The food was amazing as usual! All round lovely night!

1st visit last night.. very nice pleasant staff,place was clean. Food is expensive but it is quality produce. I couldn't visit every week because its pricey but definitely for special occasions. My only issue was over busy.i don't feel social distancing was adhered to when having to walk past the tables to the loo.. my opinion is some tables need to be removed as it does get busy. But overall a great experience and I will definitely return

went on a monday night,all covid regs adhered to,and social distancing,waited a while to be served but waiter very apologetic and gave us drinks on the house,chose 5 tapas and all were very tasty and portion size was more than ample will definetley return

Couldn't fault the restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, clean and modern. As usual, ordered yoo much, so asked for takeaway for supper tomorrow. Would definitely go again and recommend it xxx

The food was amazing, there was 9 of us, food came out in excellent time, and the service was brilliant. Hadn’t been to the restaurant for a few months and everything was as good as ever

After seeing good reviews about this place I thought I would give it a try with my work colleagues. I was wrong. We ordered two bread baskets, only one turned up at first, followed by a bunch of random mains, which were more or less thrown at us, then the second bread basket followed. One of the girls ordered muscles which weren’t even open when they were brought to the table, we brought this to the attention of the waitress and we were told ‘that’s how the chefs cooks them’. The rest of the food was luke warm when brought to us. Overall the staff were rude, especially when the waitress came over and said ‘I can’t be at your table all night’ and even thought we had a jug of sangria left and we had empty glasses the waitress thought it was a good idea to take our glasses away before we stopped her and said we’ve still got some drink left. I will not be returning here.

Fast service and the food was good. We were made to fèel welcome,and we both enjoyed our visit. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for

I am very disappointed with my visit mist with the service and how We were treated ! Our waitress hasn’t got idea about menu and what it is served including wine . She has to ask another colleague to help her ! Manger was very unfriendly and never smiled .Very disappointed with my visit and probably never come back there !

I would just like to say went to the restaurant last night with some friends, not been before, it was lovely embiance was very relaxing, decor for nice the food was amazing, i would say one of the best tapas iv had, and iv had tapas all over the world, the young man serving us was very professional he knew exactly what he was doing, gave us recommendations of dishes, he was very tentative good customer service, a credit to the business.

Good choice on menu food & wine.( wish it & opening times were on website). However hot & tasty, with polite, freindly service. A true taste of the Mediterranean. Sit back , relax & enjoy.

Disappointed!We thought we would give this restaurant another try as last time we dined we really enjoyed the food, but the service was dismal. The waiters at the time expressed their manager had just quit & thats why there were so many issues.Understanding their difficulties & hoping for a better evening, we booked in for valentines. When we arrived the atmosphere was really lovely, they had decorated the restaurant nicely & the owner shown us to our table. Upon seating we were a little confused, our table had a bottle of Prosecco & two glasses on it, (which we hadn’t ordered in advance) and had been left to go warm. No one explained why they were on the table & we didnt fancy a warm glass of proescco so we decided not to open it & instead had a look at the drinks menu and decided to get a cocktail whilst we picked our food. (Thank god! No-one should pay £24 for a bottle of warm Prosecco)Much to out dismay the waiting staff never came to take our drinks order, after half hour and several attempts to call a waiter over someone came to our table and asked if we were ready to order out food! I asked if we could order some drinks first, a g&t and a pint (£8 for a single gin, £5 for a pint)The waiter came quickly back again with the drinks to ask if we were now ready to order. Feeling rushes we settled on a mix of dishes: olives ,brie , muscles, prawns, paella & chicken wings. The food came out reasonably fast, and overall was nice, however for the price it could have been much better!Unfortunately the brie was cold and had started to re-solidify, the muscles were ok ( the sauce is amazing! ) But me & my partner both had an “off” tasting muscle each, very fishy and rubbery & one was closed shut! To pay £8 for 12 muscles and half of them were inedible was very disappointing!With our food we ordered a bottle of malbec (£19.50ish) a lovely Argentinian wine, this was nice until my boyfriend ended up with lots of dreggs in his glass which the waiter had poured for him. ‍♀️ We decided to share a dessert & order another large wine each, we had the chocolate orange cake- definitely not home made, but it tastes good! No soon after i had put down my fork a waitress came to clear the plate and ask if we wanted to the bill, she hadnt even gotten back to kitchen before the owner came with the bill & told us he needed the table so would we like to pay cash or card! I still had a full glass of wine to drink!Feeling like i had been kicked out of the restaurant we left without tipping (something i never do!) For us to book a 7pm table, not get a drink until 7:30 & then be told to finish up at 9 was disgusting! Obviously on such a busy evening on valentines you expect to have a limit on tables, but you should not rush paying customers because your staff took forever to even offer them a drink! After another awful nights service My boyfriend is adamant we wont be coming back! Such a shame as we love tapas and its great not to have to go into town, but with terrible service, food quality declining & high prices we would rather go elsewhere!

Visited with a large group of friends and shared a variety of dishes. Plenty of traditional Spanish tapas dishes to choose from, food came quickly and was very nice. Nice for a special occasion however some offers would be good to tempt me back.

The decor is very nice, the waiters were very attentive and the food was delicious. The reason for my 3 star rating is that the price of the food is very expensive for the quantity you get. We were not expecting the prices to be so high for a restaurant in Denton. The food also came very quickly and it felt like we were being rushed.If the prices were reduced to a reasonable level I would return.

Came on our works night out and started off at Los Amigos.Chose approx 18 dishes between 7 of us, a variety of meat, fish, rice and veg options,All the food was very good a really tasty.The price of food seemed a little steep and the beer at £4.90 pint.Agree it would be nice to see a January promotion or other offers to give it another try.

I cam here on a winter saturday evening with 7 of us in total, it is a lovely spanish tapas bar and the staff were welcoming at the door and the place was busy.we chose around 17 different dishes including mixed bread, meatballs, chicken paella and lamb paella, ribs, whitebait, patatas bravas, chicken strips in a sauce,calamari,chicken wings.The beer was £4.90 for a pint, the food was lovely and there was plenty of the paella, a few of our party said it was nice and one of them said it would be nice to visit here again.The restaurant is in a great central location and nice big windows at the front, there are a few pubs nearby and a new cocktail/wine bar a few minutes walk away.The food did seem a bit pricey and be good to see some offers or a January deal on.I think this would be a great place for family,friends or even a date and be interesting to to revisit this place in the future

We had high hopes for this restaurant and when we arrived we were initially impressed with the decor, ambiance and friendly staff but unfortunately the food was dreadful. The Spanish omelette was greasy, the patatas bravas were rubbery and the meatballs were burnt. Two out of the 6 tapas were actually very nice but the rest were inedible and I suspect they had been reheated. We did complain when asked about the quality of our food and in fairness the manager knocked the cost of the 4 inedible meals off the bill. It is such a shame as we were really excited when this restaurant opened and had hoped it would become a regular haunt.

After an afternoon wandering through the Xmas maein Manchester, decided to visit as not been for a while.

It’s a nice place and the service was good. I’d recommend booking a table in advance as it can get busy especially at weekends.

I came here a few weekends ago with a group of my friends and it was amazing! The food was so tasty, the staff were prompt and incredibly helpfulTwo of the young staff members who I believe were called Hollie and Grace cleared our plates and a tall chap who's name i didn't catch also made our night special bringing out a birthday cake . We were the last in the restaurant because we were to busy trying all the gin !

We ate here on a Tuesday evening for a friend’s birthday. There were 15 of us and had a fab evening. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. We tried the pornstar martini and Sangria and both were very very good. The food was all extremely delicious and huge portions we found it very good value for money. Will definitely be returning.

Restaurant is cold, cramped & noisy. Nobody gave us a menu, i had to ask if i could use the people who were sat next to us. No one asked if we wanted to order a drink, we had to get the waiters attention. We ordered several dishes, but the potato bravas arrived first on their own. 10-15 minutes later 2 other dishes arrived, i asked if we could have them arrive at the start & the waitress said " its tapas & thats the way its meant to be served "... its a shame because the food is actually quite nice but the shoddy service means i would never ever return.

This restaurant was booked last month for a colleagues leaving do. The food was incredible! Absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully decorated restaurant! Reasonably priced, definitely will be returning & recommending to friends in the future!

Meal lovely but few staff on shift had to go to bar for our drinks and wine order and coffee would of expected table service asked for table to be cleared several times

Celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday with family here. Everyone enjoyed their food, the atmosphere is lovely and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The only bug-bear I have is that there is only one option for me, as a vegan - which I've had both times I've been. It's a nice veggie paella but I would like to try something different!

I visited Los Amigos yesterday with my twin brother for our birthday lunch. It was amazing. Food was perfect. So tasty. Excellent service. Thanks so much. It is such a lovely restaurant and I can’t believe I haven’t been before. My new favourite. Here’s to lots more visits!

Wonderful decor and a great host this ace is a gem. We ate here twice in a week and on both occasions the food was superb.The paella is a meal on its own but meatballs and the chorizo dishes were devine. The sweets are superb, beautifully presented and a reasonable cost. Large portions, plenty of choice and good value is all you can wish for. Staff pleasant and busy even on week days says it all. A great find.

This is a nice little place - I think our visit was ruined by a huge group of people sat next to us who were extremely loud and the people on the other side of us left because of this. We did ask to be moved though and the staff were very accommodating. I would have liked to have seen paprika chicken on the menu which is traditionally a tapas dish. Not the best food ever; but I think that’s just more maybe down to personal preference as I’ve been to a lot of tapas restaurants in Manchester and in comparison this food just didn’t live up to my expectations; but my family enjoyed their sea food dishes. The staff were really polite and attentive and the sangria was great so that made up for it.

Nice welcome, service was good. We mainly ordered vegetarian options, two of which came out very quickly, me being a ex chef knew the two deep fried dishes were from freezer to fryer, mushrooms and filo parcels, not worth the money at all. We also ordered the vegetable paella, which when arrived was one bowl full of stodge, made with frozen vegetables and in the main over cooked, we didn’t eat that dish and complained about it, which they did supply tortilla for free, but had to ask for the paella to be taken off the bill. Overall thought was over priced

The venue looks lovely and the staff very friendly and smiley. We absolutely love Spanish tapas, its like a explosion of tastes usually but here despite a great sounding menu the food was pretty bland. The dishes are larger than average but so are the prices, especially for Denton, i would say £7-8 on average. the most expensive we had was the seafood paella £10 and this was the best dish of 7 in terms of taste and did have plenty of seafood in. The rest weren't bad they just weren't anything exciting. Sadly although we like to support local businesses we won't be returning. There is also no baby changing facility which is surprising.

Very fast service, very nice food, very nice cocktails :) we had 5 dishes and 3 cocktails each so it is very reasonable priced

Myself and my family had a lovely meal today. Food excellent, service excellent the restaurant itself is immaculate thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone was so friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

The food was really nice although you do receive it in dribs and drabs which I feel like you should be told about when you order. The service on the other hand was awful. Waiter didn’t have a clue what he was doing and then he was taking away dishes and drinks which were not finished. I would rather him take the plate and dishes away once we had finished eating instead of someone leaning over my food. Staff training is seriously needed.

We had such a lovely evening in Los Amigos. the food was spectacular and service was warm and genuine. Huge portions and fresh food, which we had to take home in some cases made this a real treat of a night out.

Came with family who were visiting from america. Service was great, food was exceptional. No issues whatsoever. We love coming to Los Amigos and recommend it to anyone who asks. Will undoubtedly be visiting again.

Visited on a Saturday evening, quite busy. Bar service was quite slow but at table service was excellent. Purchased a total of 10 tapas dishes between us and all were excellent. No rush at all, reasonably priced and completely delicious. Will certainly be returning.

We booked Los Amigos for my birthday in May and what a fantastic afternoon we had the food was absolutely lovely and atmosphere was nice we ordered virtually everything on the menu there was that much food we ended up on two tables the restaurant is spotless and the staff was very friendly to us. I have been to many restaurants around Denton and there are only a few I would recommended this being one of them I would definitely eat here again in fact we have booked to go in a weeks time for my daughters birthday. I hope it keeps its reputation up.

2nd visit on Saturday celebrating sisters birthday. 4 of us dined. Huge portions of food. Ordered mixed bread with oil and balsamic dip-bread warm and freshx 2 . Patatas bravas with cheese. Ribs. Pork belly in bbq sauce(to die for). Chicken paella..chicken chorizo and halloumi skewers x 2 (best chicken ever. Lamb slow cooked x 2. Garlic mushrooms. 6 x beers and 2 large wines. £111..not an everyday treat but the decor and ambience and food makes for a special night. You can see from the photo how big the portions are..

1st time visiting here. The girls who served us were great, very friendly and chatty, also the manager was a pleasure to deal with. Even gave my wife a free desert for her birthday. The food was outstanding, we had a number of dishes between a group of us and there wasn’t a single complaint. I will be visiting again!

I’ve visited Los Amigos twice in two weeks due to it being so amazing!! The food is stunning and the place is decorated lovely and so clean.. the staff are very nice and always welcoming. I would certainly recommend to anyone and will be returning very soon.

Booked a table a few days in advance for my husbands birthday. We all arrived to be told the table had been given to someone else claiming to be me. ....Really?? what planet does this manager think we are on?? !! He told us that the wait would be approx 40 mins - an hour for a table that I had booked?! The manager of this restaurant didn’t care that it was appalling service. We told him it wasn’t acceptable to be treated this way & his response was okay! ....Okay?? No it isn’t!!! The restaurant was extremely busy & the tables were all squashed in to maximise their profit. Over crowded & will never set foot in this restaurant again. If you want to sit in a big room all crammed together with shocking customer service then this is the place for you. If not AVOID !!!!

There was nothing we did not like about our meal here.between the three of is we had olives (half of which we took home in a doggy bag!) and 6 tapas which was more than enough. We had seafood, lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes amongst them, all were very tasty and for all this and one glass of wine it was under £40! Will definitely go back.

Came here Easter weekend. 9 people. 4 adults, 4 children and a baby! Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, food was the best we have had. Just a note the portions were bigger than any previous we have been too! The staff did suggest 4/5 dishes each was too much so we opted for 4 and we ended up taking 3 dishes home!

I visited this tapas with friends, the service is shocking, we ordered a lot of different dishes, the potatoes landed on our table with no other dishes , we waited at least 20 min then had to ask for other dishes , it’s no good sharing one small bowl of potatoes between 5 people, the other dishes arrived eventually, but one dish we ordered never arrived . We also ordered drinks they would bring 2 then forget about the other drinks . We had to constantly ask the staff for our food and drinks , although we didn’t have to ask for the bill, that was at our table prompt . All in all food was nice , but wouldn’t visit again .

Our first visit to Los Amigos, but it won’t be the last.

This is a fast food tapas bar. Feed them and get them out as quick as possible. Because of this most of the food is reasonable but not much more and the noice is worse than being in a Franky and Benny's when there are half a dozen kids birthdays on.The deep fat frier is obviously in full use, as is the trolley shop to the local supermarkets for frozen food. The fish platter is something akin to what you would buy in Aldi at xmas but not as nice. Service is good but if you want a nice quality tapas in a place where you can actually have a conversation then the Orange Tree round the corner is far superior. They say you should try everything once and we did but not sure we would go again.

Went for "on the spur" lunch with my husband Thursday 4th April, excellent food and service, friendly helpful staff, especially Yilmaz who made us feel very welcome - but be aware big portions, we had 5 dishes between us including bread, (as suggested), whereas we'd normally have 6 dishes plus bread at other tapas restaurants. They were right, plenty to eat, we were only sorry we couldn't try more dishes. Will be going again, hopefully soon.

1st visit here and won't be the last. Portions huge so really good value. Mixed breads served hot with balsamic oil and the most delicious garlic mayo. Meatballs huge and 3 of them. Pork belly in bbq sauce lovely and crispy. Chicken skewers which weren't skewers 3 huge chunks of chicken chargrilled with chorizo. lamb chunks chargrilled. Patatas bravas. We couldn't finish it. Large glass of wine and 2 pints of draught estrella beer. £52. Nicely decorated and lovely attentive but not mither some service.

Booked a week in advance and told on arrival no booking made , was then advised 30 minute wait bad customer service and will not step foot in this place again

We ate here on a Sunday evening which wasn't too busy, food and service were both great. Tapas selection was not massive but there was a good choice and everything we had tasted great.

Food was flavoursome with ample portions. Service efficient and friendly. Would recommend. Don’t over order as the portion size is very good

1st visit was a girly night out for food and cocktails, we enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The staff are friendly and the food was delicious I loved it that much I booked again to take my husband, this has become my new favourite local restaurant I would highly recommend and will be back soon :)

Ambience: Nicely done out place, comfortable seating and well adjusted lighting. Shame the blinds aren't tilted a bit because the view of the people waiting at the bus stop right outside detracts from the experience somewhat.

Out for the Gf birthday with the family we booked a table for 6 on a Sunday with no problems. For tapas the portions were so big so we over ordered food but we did not care it tasted so amazing, the paella for the price is the best thing on the menu. Gf ordered a pollo a La creme and said it the best tasting dish she has ever eaten. Would reccomened this place to anyone and will definitely be back with it being so close to home.

I've already been here three times and it only opened in November!! Every time I have been - as a couple, with female friends and with two couples - everything we ordered has been amazing although I haven't tried any desserts yet as I've been too full!

Lovely restaurant, we called in without booking and were found a table, waitresses very friendly, food served lovely and hot, portions large so value for money. Lovely little hidden gem, only draw back is no parking.

We booked a table of 10 people for a birthday party for the 12th January. My husband called before Xmas to book the table and was told to call back the next day as the call had been reverted to the owners mobile and he didn't have the diary in front of him. My husband therefore called the next day and booked a table for 10 people at 7.00pm. On the evening of the 12th January he rang ahead to inform them that he would be going a bit earlier to bring the cake and balloons etc... only to be told by the lady that answered the phone that they didn't have his booking!!! They were extremely unhelpful and just said we haven't got a booking and did you pay a deposit??. We ended up going to another restaurant (Curry cottage) who managed to squeeze us in at very short notice and were extremely accommodating. After this very disappointing experience we will never go or indeed recommend this place to any of our family or friends.

We visited the restaurant with family, we arrived early around 4.30 and there were already tables taken. We ordered 3 tapas each and a couple of extras but as someone else has mentioned the sizes on some of the dishes are large so we didn’t manage to eat everything. The paella was really good although all of it was to be fair. The bar and interior is really nice, will definitely go back

Where to start food was fantastic but be aware portions are very generous so don’t over order. The venue it’s self was extremely well decorated and atmosphere was very good. Service from various staff was very good and we had no issues Had a fantastic two page gin menu with tonics to match. Freshly made cocktails were excellent and the draft beer not to bad at all. Bill for 8 was £238 with at least 4/5 drinks per person which we all felt was excellent value. A previous review said it was cash only but definitely not the case I actually used Apple Pay to settle whole bill but obviously any card would have done.

We were a large group there to celebrate a birthday. From arriving it didn't bide well. We were told there was no draft beers, as described on their menu. We chose a wine, and was brought a totally different one the waiter shrugged when we told him it was wrong and said 'it's from calafornia' as if that was sufficient substitue. They had no idea what of their foods contained glutton neither was the international sign to show a food was glutton free printed on their menu. So any alergens do be careful.

This place is a great addition to the area as a tapas restaurant was missing! Good food and great service We had 7 dishes between us 2 and we struggled to eat them. Good quality and large portions 100% would recommend

Went in with friends to try this new place and we were not disappointed.

1st visit after several meals at Istanbul Grill opposite and the fact that this is a venture by the same team, no surprise that the food was very good. 3 tapas each sampled, Mussels, paella, bondigas, grilled lamb, Tortilla Espanol & of course patatas bravas. All good size portion & washed down with a very good red.
