In the past 12 months there has only been 2 films where subtitles have been made available (Star Wars - Force Awakens and Rogue One). The Imax say that it's because the distributors don't supply them for the films. Whilst this may be true I find it very poor that the largest Imax in Europe doesn't have any influence on the distributors to provide more subtitling. Come on Odeon, you're a huge company, surely you can do better and get the Imax showing every film with regular subtitling ?

Visited earlier on today - Sun 4.12.16 to watch Fantastic Beasts in 3D From the moment we arrived all 3 of us were suitably impressed - Daisy who served us was cheerful, helpful and engaging. The location was clean and tidy (inc the toilets) well organized and offered all that you might require whilst at the cinema. It was busy!!! But the quality of service wasn't affected in ANY way. Movie started on time and what we particularly liked was the little chat just before the movie started by a member of staff explaining a few things. It was packed and the audience was of a mixed age range as you can probably imagine, the standard of behaviour was VERY high!! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!!!Keep up the good work Everyone!!!

I have been to the IMAX on two occasions now and can say that without doubt it's the best cinema in London. The screen is massive and the sound is amazing. I watched Dark Knight a few years ago and Fantastic Beasts last night. The cinema is a 5 minute walk from Waterloo station and you cannot miss it. The subway towards it was well lit so felt quite safe. The venue provides popcorn, hotdogs and nachos along with the usual beverage and also alcoholic drinks. The popcorn tasted great, fresh and crunchy. The nachos were my favourite they come with a choice of four sauces but you can only pick 3 out of 4. I chose guacamole, cheese and salsa and gave the sour cream a miss this time. The nachos also come with jalapeños. The venue provides 3D glasses for free but considering ticket prices I think this is only right. The seats we chose were premium which is well worth paying as you get an excellent view of the screen and the seats are wider than standard with a nice amount of leg room. If your over 6 foot then definitely go for these seats.Whether your a tourist here for a few days or a die hard film fanatic you will love IMAX. Also if your in London for Christmas then it's worth checking out the Southbank xmas market and then hopping on the tube or bus down to winter wonderland at Hyde Park after the movie. Free entry to both.

Visited last night to see Suicide Squad and the IMAX is perfect for this type of movie. We sat in the middle of row H which was great. I would recommend this row or higher. Recently took my children to see the BFG here for the first time. Amazing experience. Screen is huge and facilities are really good. Would recommended sitting further back though as the 3D effects can make you feel a bit sick and so better to sit further back so that you don't have to tip your head slightly to see the screen. Loved the fact the start of the film was announced by a lady on a microphone just made it all the more special. Special effects on the larger screen looked so good. Would definitely go again!!!!!!!

Well worth a visit at any time you want to watch a film with great special effects. The huge screen size, good resolution and amazing sound means you can extract the best out of any film. The 3D extra, is icing on the cake. If just visiting London, go take in that movie at the IMAX. Book on line for best choice and try to grab seats higher than row H and keep to the middle block. I have sat as close as row E and still consider it to be good. Premium seats at the rear are okay, but I consider reduce the screen size experience; you trade comfort with appreciation of screen size. Enjoy super size screen entertainment in a great, comfortable, venue.

We booked to see Spectre and found accessing our tickets easy. The staff work hard servicing people with hot dogs, popcorn, sweets, in fact we found them particularly friendly and helpful. Although I had book to see this film about a month in advance there are very limited premium seats. The standard ones are ok, but as it was my birthday it would have been nice to upgrade. We were in row G and quite frankly if I go again I would move further back from the screen. Some of the action gets a little blurry the closer you get to it. The way the seats are graduated you won't have anyone spoiling the view.

I bought my ticket in advance, but even if you decide to buy yours tickets there, there are totem machines where you can buy or collect it without queueing. There are coffee shops for you to have lunch prior to the movie and also a candy shop upstairs to buy popcorn and candies or whatever you want. Went along to this Imax to see some props that are going to be auctioned at the end of the month. Over 450 iconic lots of original props, costumes and rare production material will be sold on the 23rd of September at the BFI IMAX. The spectacular live auction will also be live-streamed online with an interactive webcast for fans to track the bidding. They had props from James Bond to Labyrinth. The cinema itself which I went to a few years back is also very good. Screen massive, bright and sound quality the best of its kind. The seats very comfy. As this is listed as the restaurant review section, I'm only going to talk about the food on offer here. The BFI IMAX (to give this place it's official title) has a standard Costa Coffee concession which is exactly as you would expect it, and a "YOG" frozen yoghurt concession, with a regular cinema food and drink (popcorn, fizzy drinks, ice cream) available in the foyer upstairs before entering the screening room. The "YOG" concession is what it's all about here. It's served in a cup from a "Mr Whippy" style vending machine and although it's way more expensive than frozen yoghurt in a tub, it's so much nicer that tub frozen yoghurts will be ruined for good once you've eaten here. Theres a good number of sofas and tables shared between the Costa and Yog customers, so theres always somewhere to sit and enjoy. Its definitely worth getting here a bit earlier just for a nice yoghurt.

The price of tickets can't be described as cheap but it's well worth it. The screen size has to be seen to be believed and in my experience, each seat I've been in has been a great view. Yes, even the ones near the front. I've also found that the Costa in the foyer area (or the bar would do!) is a brilliant place to do some quiet writing whilst the world zooms by above you. It's a great location in a very central part of London but because it's underground on the roundabout, it's rarely busy in the afternoons. IMAX is an expensive treat. I wouldn't go all the time, but especially if it's a film made for IMAX screens or to impress friends and family. Would happily return!

Always wanted to go the the IMAX to see a 3D film and we chose Spiderman 2. The tickets were very pricey but I suppose that's to be expected in the centre of London, especially considering the screen etc. The special effects were really great and the sound was great, seats were comfortable and drinks and snacks etc. were the usual highly inflated price you pay at cinemas everywhere.Would I go again? I only rate this average because I did not understand the hype, in all honesty. My friend and I saw Iron Man 3D. The cost of the seats was horrifying. We got basic seats WITH a student discount, and the cost was at least double the cost of IMAX in Canada (for a 3D movie). The design of the theater is awesome, I love the idea of the semi circle seating. I also love the fact that the movies play late, I believe ours started at 12 something and ended at 3? We were able to have a nap before seeing our movie. The food was the same as you would expect anywhere else. Basic popcorn. Very expensive as usual haha.As for the screen itself, which seems to be the key point, it was large - but I was not in awe. Perhaps it's not far off from other screens I've seen. The sound was excellent. I feel as though I did get the full experience. Also, we sat near the back and after the movie realized we were right beside the exit everyone was told to leave from (involving descent down many flights of stairs). So we were able to make a quick exit. Not sure if they always do this, but if you want to beat the after movie rush - maybe sit near the back row?Maybe would go again to a cheaper movie. Won't make or break your trip though :)

Greatest cinema in the world, hands down. Worth every extra penny compared to other West End cinemas (that are generally very small and cramped). We went to see The Hobbit here in 3D and the picture was incredible, perfect for this type of movie where you can really appreciate the cinematography and the landscapes. The only downfall is that you have to book up early to get a good seat as soon as the film comes out. The IMAX is in an excellent location for going out to eat afterwards or for a walk along the South Bank and to save money, pop to the Sainsbury's opposite Waterloo station for your drinks and snacks.

I've been going to this IMAX for years. It's the largest screen in the UK and really does deliver. However, recently I have felt very let down. We went to watch The Dark Knight Rises. There were 8 of us in total. I stayed up till 4am booking the tickets, and we were all obviously excited. A few of the people had never been to the IMAX before.During the movie, the air conditioning was switched off. It was HOT in there to the point that I and others were sweating! Are they trying to save money? Then, we could smell gas / smoke! Everyone had to evacuate!!! The fire alarm was pathetic and could not be heard! After standing outside for 20 minutes and not being told anything, we asked staff what was going on. They said there has been a fire somewhere and we don't know where. So I asked "what happens now" and they told me that we would be compensated and receive a refund! We spent £158 + travel for 8 people + time off work. We waited a few days for the refund, it never came! So I emailed them and it's been over a week now with no reply. I called them and was hung up on!When did these people turn in to con artists??? Not happy at all. It's a good thing one of us works in legal services, I think we'll be writing to their head office to see if they actually care about paying customers!

Management at the Odeon has recently changed and things have notably changed for the worst. Two weeks ago we went to see the Dark Knight Rises and halfway through the film the the projector blew and the film was cancelled. This week we decided to go again and the lines to get into the cinema were incredibly long. Why did they not open the doors to the cinema earlier?? Also, I wanted to try and buy still water at the bar on the groundfloor but was told that I could only buy it on the first floor.I really hope these are temporary glitches. The IMAX used to be one of the best cinema, let's hope that it remains that.

I love cinema and I think IMAX is great fun. I particularly like the way they give you a little introductory talk at the start of each film. You can make a trip to this IMAX into quite an event as there is a small restaurant and a bar. I would highly recommend this as a cinematic experience *but* I would like to see the management address the following:1. Not enough seating in the upstairs bar/lobby. Even some more standing tables would have been good - doesn't have to all be sofas.2. Queueing system - it was a bit of a melee with one person trying to take tickets and everyone bundling in. Putting some tensabarriers in place a couple on minutes before opening the doors, and having a couple of extra attendants there would help.3. Hygiene. I usually have antiseptic hand-cleaner with me to clean 3D glasses at cinemas as they are always grubby. This time I didn't and I ended up with conjunctivitis. YUK!

I travel from my home town of Shoreham by Sea in West Sussex to come to London’s iMax because it turns a movie into a serious event. Avatar was so good here it felt like you were part of the movie, and most recently Prometheus felt similar, although the movie wasn’t as good. The clarity of the screen is bettered only by its size and the sound is stunning too. The 3D effects made you feel part of the action and the 3D glasses are very lightweight and won’t annoy you after a while. I would say that you need to avoid seats too close to the front – I honestly don’t know how much you’d be able to take in sat here. So go for rear seats. Also, they are sloped so steeply you won’t have Marge Simpson in front of you spoiling the view!!As regards eating here don't bother unless desperate. it's just cinema food - need I say more?!
