Dropped in here to get some local produce for some chums (Pretty good shop), but I stopped in the coffee shop / cafe for a quick bite.It was just after the main kitchen close, so had coffee and a Scone. Very tasty.Staff are taking Covid Precautions very seriously, so a few minor delayes and inconveniences, but overall ... great. Can't think of any reason to mark them down. Keep up the good work.

What a lovely place for lunch! Tucked at the back of the very well stocked shop, the cafe has lots of seating both inside and out. Lovely menu with daily specials all cooked to order from local ingredients. We had the chicken and asparagus soup, which was hot, thick and very tasty. Served with fresh bread baked on site.Staff were welcoming, attentive and efficient.

Soo glad I’d found a link to local produce and shopping in the visit Scotland website as this farm shop / cafe in Beeswing was mentioned so we headed there after Sweethart Abbey and glad we did. Had to wait 10 mins for table which wasn’t an issue as we could watch the birds in the garden. Nice menu, homemade and fresh and unlike some places that say that this food definitely was. Menu option and specials, most produce local and made in the village etc. Anyway 2 teas, 2 fentimans drinks, 1 large soup n sandwich, 1 special mince round, 1 charcuterie and 1 special blue cheese salad = £41. Shame we didn’t have room for the fresh baked cakes. Afterwards a stroll around the farm shop and a few purchases made. Glad we found out about it, we even saw red kites en route.

We were warmly welcomed on a wet and chilly day, service was polite, efficient and friendly throughout our visit. Covid guidelines are taken very seriously and appear to have become second nature. We both opted for savoury scones which were delicious and served with a small side salad, then shared a cake with coffee, all the food was very good. If we lived nearby this would certainly be a regular place to visit, the farm shop attached is also exceptional.

The first time we went I had a hummus sandwich with soup, the second time I had the hummus sandwich. Their GD & DF bread is delicious. We took a couple of loaves away and my husband who eats everything scoffed it too. The staff were really kind and welcoming - a flavour of their ethos. They are coping well with the C-19 restrictions. Support them please. I want to go back next year :)

This cafe and shop sells wonderful largely organic produce. It is well organised and you are made to feel safe with the arrangements that they have in place for reducing the risk of spread of the virus. The menu us supplemented by the daily specials. I would highly recommend the pies, baked in a lovely light pastry and coming with a salad they make for a hearty lunch. The cakes are wonderful so remember to leave room for a slice! The shop is a treasure trove of healthy foods, both vegetables and other essential items of food including freshly baked bread. A great experience and worth making a detour for.

I dropped in here recently for a tea and some cake with my elderly mother. There are several parking spaces for less able customers close to the entrance so that was welcome and I know from a previous visit that the disabled toilet is spacious and easy to access. This was our first use of any hospitality since Covid-19 measures were introduced and I was quite impressed by how well it was organised. The cafe entrance is now separate from the shop and a suitable path has been laid around the outside of the building leading to the garden. There is hand sanitiser to apply and benches and tables are well spaced in the grounds. It was a very sunny day so quite pleasant to sit outside and many were doing so. Each bench/table has a number and you just provide that to staff when ordering inside (mask required). There were a few guests indoors, although again well distanced. Contactless payment. The order was delivered to our bench and we were asked just to leave the dishes on the tray when we finished and it would be collected.Nice pot of tea each and we shared a delicious slice of orange sponge.Staff pleasant and peaceful setting to enjoy our short break.

We love this place. We were coming on holiday to Galloway and I'd seen it as a possible farm shop for supplies. But it was also suggested by the people running our holiday cottage. So we made a point of stopping before we got to the cottage to pick up some pre-ordered meat and other supplies. We stayed for coffee. Then came back for another lot of supplies the following Friday for our second week. Coffee again. Then came a third time to get some goodies to take home as well as have breakfast on our last day. It's a fantastic charitable enterprise but the produce from the farm shop is really excellent. Very high quality, largely free range and/or organic. The cheeses are a superb choice with lots of Scottish options including their own amazing farmhouse cheese. Lots of other great produce including veg, much of it from their own farm. Plus they have an arrangement with a fishmonger who is there on Fridays. The cafe is a lovely spot. No dogs indoors but a lovely garden and some sheltered tables if it's raining. It's clearly very popular with locals as well as visitors. And they obviously think highly of their staff and customers with some first class Covid procedures. We loved it so much we made a donation to their charity for the great work they do.

First - Well done for your covid 19 - a nice system in place.Food wise - Poor to say the least. Beef sandwich - the beef was cut so thin it was nearly transparent and a poor serving for the price. I have been coming 3 to 4 times a year (since you opened there) when in the area and the food and service seems to be going slowly down hill. Invisible to the staff today after we had been seated. People came in after us and got served we had to signal for service. Wouldn't have minded if busy. Thought we were sitting under Harry Potters invisibility cloak at one stage. Feel like I have spent a lot of money on very little. Looking forward to my tea now as still very hungry.

I was at a loose end one sunny morning, and decided to venture out for a coffee. Juts my second outing since lockdown easing, so I chose somewhere I already knew was nice. The new arrangements seemed well thought out. I ordered at the door before sitting outside. Sanitising stations and masks were available. The cheese scone (and doggy bag for the uneaten half) and macchiato were lovely. I was there just after 10, and it wasn't yet busy. I also visited the shop, to purchase excellent veg, meat and flour. Overall, it was great little outing.

We went here as my husband had been here before and said it was great.Incidentally it was our wedding anniversary.Firstly the positives-the staff were friendly and the tables were clean. We were seated as soon as a table became available and they took our order-so far so good. The food was not good-we had chicken and sweetcorn soup which was basically water with no sign of any chicken and one kernel of sweetcorn.I then had a roast beef sandwich which was very fatty. It also had gherkins on which was bizarre, especially as it had no mustard and none was offered.Trying to get the attention of a waitress to order dessert and coffee was very difficult. After 15 minutes we managed to flag one down and ordered. Then she totally forgot about us so 20 minutes later my husband asked about our order and she hadn't even put it through as they were busy!By this time i had had enough,I am in a half leg cast and could no longer bear to sit and wait so we just went without. At the checkout we voiced our complaints and they gave us a couple of complimentary biscuits as if that would make up for the fiasco. We won't be returning.

Very Christian philosophy here....so loveliest people you could hope to meet. Pity they haven't read the bible's comments on mammon.....eye wateringly expensive! They make an effort to source from ethical sources..and label extremely well...but why are vegetables grown in their own garden four times the price of the local supermarket? (Maybe someone has to pay for the fancy new building!) (I say "average" because, unfortunately, this philosophy seems to have become the norm with farm shops. Whatever happened to "cut out the middle man" drive down prices? )

I know the title for my review sounds exaggerated, but I assure you it's not. Today, my wife and I had some tea and one of their pudding offerings -- the Double Chocolate and Almond Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream (It's Gluten Free). Now, I like chocolate, and almonds, but this pudding was so good! You know when something is so good you want to stuff it all in your mouth at once? It was much better than that! It was so good I resisted stuffing it in my mouth all at once, but made myself savor each and every bite of it knowing it might be a while before I was out there when they had it again. Both of us felt the same about it. We regularly shop at the Farm Shop, and sometimes have lunch or a wee snack in the cafe, and love their offerings in the Farm Shop and Cafe, but I have never loved anything I have gotten there as much as this, and that's saying something because none of their food is bad, by any stretch of the imagination!

When you are in the Dumfries area heading in the Dalbeattie direction and you are stuck for somewhere nice to have your lunch then the place that I am about to review is the place for you, and that place is Loch Arthur Creamery and Café located at Beeswing just West of the town, I visited Loch Arthur today with my mum and gran for lunch and had a really delicious lunch which consisted of their very delicious cheese platter with some of their winning artisan cheeses, chutney and oatcakes which was absolutely delicious followed by really scrummy wee waffles with Cream cheese which was divine and which I would recommend washed down with some refreshing apple juice which I would recommend, plus the place is clean, the welcome is warm and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this place

We love the cheeses on offer in the shop and often combine our cheese shopping with lunch or coffee stop. On this occasion we were on a journey and decided to stop for lunch. All the staff are excellent. There is plenty to choose from on the menu and the food has never been a disappointment. Much of the produce used is grown on the farm nearby. The shop and restaurant are kept very clean and there are seats outside for those who wish to enjoy the fresh air.

For years I’ve driven past the road end just outside of Beeswing and noted the sign to Loch Arthur. I’ve read about it, seen it has one awards, but never been.

Visit here regularly as in addition to the cafe, they also sell organic and fair trade veggies, cheese and other larder goodies. The cafe if light and airy, looking out onto a pond and wildlife area, where there are also tables and chairs set out. The food is gorgeous and as standard they have lots of vegan friendly things on the menu, from soups and breads to main courses and even cakes. They also sell lots of vegan goods in the shop and have an Ecover refill station. Staff are lovely - friendly and helpful. Situated 7 miles outside Dumfries in a picturesque spot in the village of Beeswing.

Loch Arthur Farmhouse cafe and shop is in a lovely and accessible location. The ambience is very welcoming. The farmshop provides a wide range of food of high quality as well as interesting and attractive craftware and books. The cafe serves delicious food in an extremely pleasant environment overlooking a pond.

We just dropped in for coffee and cake following a disappointing meal elsewhere. The contrast couldn't have been more obvious. Warm welcome from smiling, friendly staff and bright, clean surroundings for starters.

We visited fairly early in the day and noticed “breakfast scones” among the delicious food. We both had one, one bacon and cheese and one salmon, both delicious, served with salad and a little dish of wonderful cheese and dill dressing.

Well signed and a short distance off the A711, the building is grey and not particularly inviting. Inside it is a joy, lovely locally produced foods or sourced close by. The home cooked cakes and biscuits are splendid and outside the norm. Breakfast Scones are a great idea, each hiding bacon, perhaps smoked salmon, with cream cheese. The restaurant are is pleasant and the staff cheerful and keen to please.

Lunches here are freshly prepared with seasonal and largely local produce. They are substantial and tasty. Coffee is very good too. Be prepared to wait a while as this isn't 'fast food' - but it's well worth it. Not had a cake here recently but I have fond memories of ones enjoyed previously, and they still look gorgeous.
