I went this morning for a breakfast with my 2 year old. Had the best eggs Benedict that I’ve had in many years. My boy had the porridge which was so tasty, I had to finish his off as couldn’t let it go to waste. I also ordered a cappuccino which was top quality. The lad that served us was polite, attentive and the food was quick to come out. Hands down a 10/10 experience. Will be back and also recommended to friends and family.

Thank you for being so accommodating with my daughter's food allergies and my friend's. Most places do not want to take the time and effort to accommodate for allergies so it was a breathe of fresh air for us to relax and enjoy our lunch with peace of mind . Staff are friendly and welcoming to . Lovely food .we will be back again soon. Thanks again

We were excited to try this place, but it was freezing in there and spent the whole time with our coats firmly on and the food is very expensive for just a sandwich or a wrap. Much better food options elsewhere in a place that’s warm. Definitely came away disappointed and £40+ lighter. Wouldn’t return.

My friends and I ordered 3 sandwiches around £9 to £10. The Christmas type had slivers of tasty morsels in sourdough toasted bread. However, It was freezing in there with the automatic door. My sandwich had a sparce filling. Served with a well drenched mixed leaf garnish. We had to order chips to share which didn't occur last tin we met for a sandwich as we don't like to over consume. . A coffee x3 , sandwich x 3, shared one serve of chipsx was rounded up to £20 each (card only). The others at the table agreed the sandwiches were poorly filled. They thought maybe it was the coldness of the place that contributed to the desire to exit swiftly.

Great place to grab a coffee and a spot of lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my latte and chicken & bacon croque! I'd highly recommend stopping by and enjoying what they have to offer!

What a lovely find…. Was feeling peckish so popped in for a coffee and a snack. There are so many places to choose from in Southbourne but something was calling me into here. So please I went ‘with my gut’. The food was so fresh and extra-ordinary and the coffee was the best I have had. I am telling everyone about it and will be back. Can’t wait to try an evening menu.

My wife and I visited twice over the June bank holiday and were so impressed with everything about Loaf + Coal. The food was incredible and the perfect way to start the day. We both felt really good for the rest of the day and didn't need lunch. We can't wait to return to try the lunch menu. The atmosphere is lovely. There's outside seating and a garden, as well as the indoor seating. The staff are super-friendly and very attentive. We brought back a slice of cake for my mother who wasn't with us and she loved it! They also offer fresh fruit salad pots. The strawberries and cream were a lovely way to finish our breakfast.

Been here to Loaf twice & both times had lovely food. This time I had the chicken, smashed avocado, dry cured streaky bacon on sourdough bread. It was very tasty. Very nice cafe/restaurant always busy.

Visited for coffee on a Sunday afternoon. Quite busy but we got a table by the window. Nice coffee and tea. Although we did not eat, the menu looked interesting. Service was good.

Lots of places to choose from for lunch/dinner in Southbourne. Decided to give Loaf & Coal a try as it’s still quite new. Friendly staff on arrival. Order placed at counter, but served to your table We had Loaf classic & Croque Monsier both were loaded with filling and tasty. Good selection of craft style soft drinks. A good addition to foodie Southbourne.

We love love this place! Fresh bread, beautiful combination of fillings on sandwiches and toasted sandwiches! My other half things the coffee (Latte) is the best around! We run a food blog on Instagram (other half an ex head chef) and it is regularly on our feed!

Freshly prepared food that’s very fresh good quality & value. Cakes limited but delicious each time we visit. Coffee excellent - including the decaf coffee. Friendly helpful service. Cake slice wasn’t fresh one time - apology profuse & fresh new cake brought to me as alternative choice.

Three adults for late lunch, relaxed service, friendly service. Good varied, menu, with ethos of sourcing top ingredients to make fresh, tasty food. The restaurant had certainly succeeded in this. I had the nicest falafel I have had, super-fresh tasting and not dry like falafel can often be. Came in a wrap with coleslaw and chillis - the coleslaw had some mystery ingredient that gave a wonderful explosion of flavour that was unexpected, delicious and very welcome. (And yes, the chef told me his secret when I asked!) Have since seen on website that chef is Masterchef finalist so not surprised at the quality of food and menu. Thanks to all at Loaf+Coal - will definitely visit again when in the area.

Really cool little place, very stylishly decorated, and has a real buzz about the place - it all feels very authentic. The Tapas Thursday is great very and you get a great choice of dishes. The pizza nights are enjoyable to. Very friendly service and has a great Italian vibe to it all.

We worked with Charlie to organise a Bedouin tent for our anniversary and it was the highlight of the party! Really set the scene and we hand endless comments about how awesome the tent was. Charlie was such a gem throughout, was very helpful explaining everything and considerate, always passing on great advice for the party - he really cared. The tent was spectacular and put everyone in a great mood throughout the evening.
