Lo Lounge in Cardiff

The Christmas lights switch-on event at Lo Lounge was magical. The lights set the perfect holiday mood, while the Christmas stalls offered unique gifts and treats. We indulged in tasty hot chocolates and fantastic food, making for a great evening. The friendly staff created a warm, welcoming atmosphere all wearing their Christmas Jumpers and the big screen showing Home Alone inside added a nostalgic and cozy touch.

First time at lo lounge today to see the Christmas light switch on, very cosy vibe and christmassy atmosphere, had a nose at the Christmas stalls and purchased some lovely unusual gifts. Also great food from wing stack and plenty of it for a reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff nothing is too much trouble for them. Drinks were well presented and fairly priced.Overall had an amazing day and even got to meet the grinch! Defo be back

Went for the Christmas light switch on. Abit speechless tbh not in a good way. Don't know what I was expecting but maybe a bit more than a Christmas tree. Food I thought was a bit overpriced. Hot chocolate was the best bit... Banging

I had an amazing time at lo lounge christmas light switch on today i would defo come back again!! For a free event this was fantastic, the whole venue was decorated head to toe and want to say the staff are very friendly and also came dressed in the christmas spirit and they must of put in a lot of hard work to put up the decorations . food was delicious and reasonable price. we all sat inside and watched the whole of home alone our favourite film. can’t thank lo lounge enough!!!

Went for the fireworks tonight and honestly it was amazing, fire dancers, amazing tunes and delicious food ended with an awesome fireworks show!! Great night, thank you Lo Lounge!

Booked tickets last Sunday for today 3rd November. I could only get the remaining last tables which Lo Lounge charge extra for. I paid £100 for the table for 6 of us. They also charge extra for last remaining tickets for the “normal” entry. Turned up at 6pm, was allocated to our table which was sheltered and had a very small heater above. We assumed we would have a table out in the open where we can see the fireworks. We sat around with a child until 8.35pm, when the display started. 5 MINUTES of fireworks. My little one was very upset. List of tears. Seems they just want to try and make as much money on everything else. Absolutely DISAPPOINTING

Went there with my daughter to watch the fireworks on 2nd November. Really poor show and our location, outside near the mini golf, had lots of hot ash falling from the sky which burned us when it landed. A lot of people moved away as a result, but one poor girl had hot ash land in her eye. Also, despite a fence, we were positioned approx 10m from where the fireworks were being ignited. I posted this onto the Lo Lounge Facebook page and my comment and I were blocked. Tickets - 1 x adult and 1 x child cost over £45. Whilst there we each had a very underwhelming chicken burger and chips which cost £12.50 each! My 13 year old daughter was surprised at the low quality v high price. Including drinks, I spent nearly £90 to watch what I, and others there, felt were supermarket fireworks!! Lesson learnt.

What an amazing night absolutely loved and enjoyed the show that was put on by lo lounge , the fire girls show was brilliant and the fireworks were fab and the dj blasting out the tunes! Hench burger and wing stack were really tasty and sorayas desserts were delicious 😋! Definitely worth the money for 2 hrs of entertainment! Thankyou so much

Visited a few days ago and have always loved lo lounge, but have to say this place really is in need of a desperate deep clean especially in corners and windows and all conservatory’s and storage rooms, seats and all outside areas covered in spiders with nests and networks of them everywhere, it’s a spider nightmare at the moment and in the end I couldn’t settle for checking everywhere we sat for them. Will still return but hope it’s cleared out soon please

Friendly staff, very helpful and present, but the physical place looks tired. Toilets are not particularly pleasant. We went to Tiger next door to toilet and food.

I came to Lo lounge for fixate a couple of times 2/3 years ago and loved it, loved the place and the vibe. We bought tickets for the family BBQ and fun day last weekend and were shocked how much it had gone downhill. We paid £32 to get in and the 'family games day' consisted of a few worn out old board games, a makeshift Jenga with all random sized blocks, an ancient dodgy Wii console in black and white and a small bouncy castle (this saved it slightly). The crazy golf is literally a few wooden blocks with holes dotted about on the floor next to people eating. The place looked really worn and run down. The staff were nice, and we had a nice couple of hours but mostly because it was so bad it was comical! Hope they can inject some money and life back into the place

Lovely view, gonna be amazing in summer time. I had a lovely cocktail there. The quality of the drinks are really good and the staff are nice. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing afternoon having a Super Mario family brunch. Such a great place with lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

Had a walk around the bay today and thought I'd stop off for a nibble. Menu really restricted with not much choice. Pretty much just chips with a topping available for about £9. I bought myself, partner the dirty fries, and my daughter plain fries. Plus 2 cans of pop and it came to almost £30. It's just felt really expensive. Won't come back in a rush given the limited menu choices but the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Booked this for a private function. Staff went above and beyond to help set up the duchess suite in advance. Was very happy and would definitely recommend x

We held a 40th birthday at Lo Lounge and it was an amazing venue. It was a beautiful day so looking over Cardiff Bay on the viewing deck was such a fantastic setting. Staff were great, especially Jo, who worked with us from planning to the night itself. Would highly recommend.

I came here for a laser show in 2023 and I enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely come back here.

Didn't have food spent new year eve there wicked night

A cool place but looks a bit tacky unfortunately. The blue paint and fake grass flooring don't do the place much justice. Lush views though so it's worth going for that. A cool 'sun room' style area with heaters and a roof to enjoy the views uninterrupted. The inside is quite dark. But they have board games free to use which is cool too

Went here for the Christmas experience. Was great. Friendly staff, a great atmosphere and good food. The views across the bay are amazing. My new favourite place to go in Cardiff.

Don’t book bottomless brunch with them so unorganised, waiting forever for drinks and when made they was giving our to other people. We had complained twice about ordering our food and about not receiving it. It was served in tin trays lol chips was dry, they was store bought as we saw them bringing them inside in bags. Table was wobbly. Just took almost 2 hours for 2 round of drinks and food. Entertainment was alright (magic Mike) we left an hour early

I wrote a review on the Facebook page last year and it got deleted by the organisers, so I will leave my review here regarding the fireworks night as I believe people should be warned. Safe to say I will not be attending in 2023. "Frustratingly my family and I just left after 8.30pm. I booked this back in September because it was marketed as a family event. Got there at 6.30pm only to que for 30 minutes as names were slowly crossed off a list, my partner collected the pre-paid hot chocolates which were cold, then we sat around for well over an hour only for the DJ to keep saying the fireworks would be coming shortly but never came. Ques for facilities like toilets far too long particularly especially for people with young children who are sitting static outside in the cold far past their bed times because despite the event beng marketed at 7pm we never saw fireworks and gave up because the 5yo daughter was exhausted and freezing, Not to mention there was seemingly no smoking area, as people were lighting up around us. I never complain about events and work in a job where i roll my eyes at all sorts of infated complaints, but i am very unhappy about this event, why market it as a family event and have fireworks way past 8.30pm and then gaslight attendees to wait a little bit longer every 15 minutes." I cannot remember how much I spent on tickets but it must have been about £50 plus for cold drinks and to sit in the cold for 2 hours.

Food Banging! Drinks very expensive! Went to a summer party and it was dead! It was a lovely hot day too! Sure it would have been better if it was busy! One of the Staff members was the rudest I have ever come across.

Arrived on a cold windy Saturday afternoon and sat in one of the porter cabins. We were asked to either pay £10 as there was a function starting of sit outside in another area As it was very cold I ask the bar staff could I have a blanket he said he would ask his manager. He returned and said they had no blankets and he would have had to charge me a deposit for a blanket. I said I would have been happy to pay a deposit. (I also felt that he implied that I could not be trusted with the blanket. Later a young person sat next to me that had been in a function inside and I was telling him how cold I was and about the blanket. He then went inside went behind the bar and was allowed to take a blanket (obviously without paying a deposit and evidently the staff lied about the blankets The cocktails were not as advertised and every time the substitute for the cocktails came out although we had ordered the same they were different colours. We were not allowed to buy cocktails at the bar but had table service (this also rings alarm bells when not being able to see them being made) yet I could buy a cider at the bar. By the time we left there were only 5 people for the function and the porta cabins were still empty. This place was virtually empty but I believe with the right management and customer service could do so much better. It appears the staff including management are being paid not matter what so why should they bother putting any effort into the business. I am not some low life that would steal a blanket and resent the way we were treated by staff, management and promotional staff that day. There is no excuse from bad customer service. they were not busy

Had a great summer party here with work! Didn't even know the place existed but it is a brilliant bar with a great view across the bay! Atmosphere is great and the staff are lovely! Food was also spot on! Will definitely come back again!

What an absolute joke, I'm still trying to understand why we paid £25per ticket (9of us) first hour was dire DJ playing then Abba Duo 2 young girls running around singing Abba songs not what we were expecting,rude staff when a friend went and asked at 3.30 where was the Abba music to be told we have until 6pm why ask people to dress up,toilets full of people complaining it was just a bar playing music ... definitely won't be going again and will make sure everyone knows it's not what's advertised 😞

Really disappointed.......paid £20 for a 90's event yesterday, definitely not worth £20, for that all we had was 90's music & 2 girls singing 90's songs!!! We were charged different prices on almost every round of drinks. Friends arrived without previously buying tickets were only charged £10, left after an hour because it was poor & were refunded there £10!!! Definitely won't be booking anything there again!!!

Spend a few hours here for my friends 50th birthday . Lovely atmosphere, good music and fab views over the bay . Didn't have any food but it all smelled delicious! We will definitely be back!

If you want good food, a good selection of wines and beer, an amazing view of the Bay then look no further. Perfect in the summer, great venue for private hire.

We have been meaning to try this place out when in Cardiff(we are from Birmingham) and we loved it, was only a few people in there when we arrived so couldn't really say anything about the atmosphere, but very good background music, Staff was very very friendly and polite and friendly, reasonably priced for drinks and lovely views of Cardiff Bay, we will be back 😀

The bar was understaffed, tge dj was repetitive, for a family event they were vague about when the fireworks happened which was 8.35pm and a 10min display from behind tge fencing next to the bathrooms. Not worth more than £5 for the fireworks and maybe another £5 for the view over the bay. I paid &£6 for a 30min display with a clear start time in Penarth the night before. Telling me that to get a seat turn up at 6.30pm and then wait till nearly the end of the whole evening was poor for a family event

I am shocked about what they call "fireworks" it was a 2 hour wait for a less than 5 minute show, and the worst part was that it was £24 per person and an extra £15 for a small hot chocolate and a small portion of chips, AND there is no health and safety, the fire works were actually hitting your head.

We toke the children at Lo Lounge for the halloween ghost hunt. We had such great time, children loved it, was very fun even for us adults. Staff was brilliant, great food, great atmosphere, beautiful surrounding, great views of Cardiff Bay. Is a beautiful bar, great for dog walkers to stop by for a coffee break, great for booking private events. We will book for the fire works also. Definately we are coming back, the staff is very friendly and nothing is too much. I reccomend to anyone to go for any occasion. Had such an amazing time with children at the Halloween Ghost hunt. I want thank the staff for their patience with our children and other children too. We will be back definately for the fire work event. Thank you for such an amazing evening.

Can't believe how much this place has gone downhill. Americano was really tasteless and cup only 2/3rds full. Tiny piece of chocolate cake for £2.95, it tasted nothing like chocolate, very odd. Still great views but so dissapointing how they've ruined such a nice place.

We went to a lot of trouble to get there and at 2pm on Tuesday....it was closed...I mean the gate was padlocked, so maybe open times need adjusting. Very disappointing

I ordered a flat white it it was served way too hot in a takeaway cup and the flavour had been steamed out of it. For £3 I would expect a nice ceramic cup and the coffee temp to be correct. Tbh I wish I had gone to Greg's at half the price

Terrible service, 45 minutes to make a bacon sandwich, no apologies, no communication... Coffee home by then.... Not good enough.. price is irrelevant

A lovely place, very special ambiance at night and a great place to sit and watch the world go by during the day. I highly recommend the Sunday roast!

Came here on a Sunday morning. Found the staff to be rude, breakfast had watery scrambled egg that appeared to be made from powder, the mushrooms were well over cooked and the general quality of the food was poor.

Went for a very late breakfast on a windy and rainy day. It's a great location but let down by everything else. It was just a bit grim and dirty and the food wasn't great, but not cheap enough to justify. Weird eggs and poor coffee. Might try again later in the year and hope the food is better.

Thought we'd pop in for a coffee being as it was open when we passed and as we approached, we could hear and see a group of people seated outside. However, I'm not sure if the place was actually open (early lunchtime Friday). Couldn't see or find any staff at all or get in anywhere to look for service. The group at the table ignored us, so I'm assuming they were customers waiting for service. We tried ringing the bell where there was a sign saying "Ring for service" but no one came at all. So, we gave up and left. An odd and disappointing experience really as it all seemed promising.

Food ok. Customer service in dealing with issues? Zero for "duty manager*. Shame as could have easily have resolved issue satisfactory but duty manager would clearly benefit from development opportunities.

Glad we found this place ,after being turned away from different cafes and restaurants, because we could not pay by credit card ,asked first if we could pay by cash ,not a problem, the waitress was so polite and helpful, could not fault the pulled pork roll and chunky chips ,great coffee, the view was amazing ,would highly recommend .

Great views! It’s ok for cocktails, no draft beers/ciders though. Definitely not worth going for food. Small sizes, low quality and they charge by default a 10% service fee.

We popped in here after a lovely walk from the Barrage. It was a great find. Great atmosphere and great views. There is plenty of space outside on a nice day. I only popped inside on route to the toilets. These were no e and clean. Staff were friendly and I noticed on of them making sure a dog was given water and he also gave them treats. Nice touch. We ordered drinks from the bar and they were reasonably priced for the area. At the table you will find a few menus for drinks and food. It can get confusing as the one we ordered from was for the food shack that's we walked passed by the bike rental place. Italian hot filled pastries (panzerrotto) I believe. He will actually bring them to your table after you have ordered from the app. It's nice the venue allows this, not sure how they are affiliated with each other. But it's great to have that option. I believe they have wedding guests sectioned off outside. We were treated to a duet of opera singers. Very nice. Overall a great experience.

Best beer garden and view in Cardiff Bay

Below is my review before this place was taken over, for which it got five stars. Now I'm afraid the location is still the same, but there is only bottled beer and the staff are no longer friendly. And there was no food on when we went there. The whole direction of the place has changed, and no one under 35 seems welcome. =========================================================== Brilliant location. Nice beer. Friendly staff. No eaten here so can't comment on the food. Have now eaten in the Lookout and the food is great for the price. And it's dog friendly

This place is in the most glorious location with the best view of the bay looking towards Mermaid Quays. Unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy it yesterday lunch time as the service from a particular staff member was abysmal & shockingly rude. Despite saying we wanted to order we continued being ignored and in the end we left. I think drinks could be ordered from the app however food from LO kitchen (not the street food vendor outside) had to be ordered by staff. We ended up over in one of the other well known eating establishments in Mermaid Quay where the service was friendly & respectful. I’ve waitressed myself so know how challenging it can be but maybe some staff training here on how to treat customers would be beneficial.

An excellent little cafe overlooking the bay. The food is great and reasonably priced. Be warned though it is a catch free establishment so make sure you bring your cash/credit card with you.
