Llandudno merry moon restaurant in Conwy

Saturday opening times are wrong - I went at midday and was told they open at 5pm Editing this to address the bitter reply from the business. I went here another day at 5pm - checked the opening times on the door - it said open at 5pm. I found the door closed and the employees having their meal for at least 10 minutes. Left soon after. I'm sure your food is good but with that nasty attitude my advice to other customers is to definitely NOT go here since the staff are so emotionally mature. Well done for showing off online as you say 🙂

Great find, as a lot of places I've found in Llandudno, from the outside it could be easily missed but after a quick Google search we found it and I'm glad we did, all food was great the service was friendly and we had a great evening.

Best food in Llandudno - our family’s favourite.

Called in following recommendations, everything from food to service was excellent. the owners should be proud of how the front of house (son and daughter) interacted with the guest making it an enjoyable experience. The food was fresh cooked and and met all expectations.fully recommend any one to try.

Really unhelpful and unwelcoming. We came in and sat down, being told they had vegetarian dishes for us. My 4 year old daughter wanted noodles so we asked for the kids noodle dish, told there was beef broth in it - no other veg dish for kids. Asked politely for a small veg stir fry (it's on the adult menu) but wanted a kids portion. We were just told "no". High chair for our baby also didn't fit the table so I don't know how she would eat either. We left disappointed. Prices are very high compared to Viet food in the city too. I would recommend expanding on your vegetarian dishes, or maybe you don't think there is need. We won't be visiting again.

We over the food here. The pho was delicious. Pretty close to the taste we're used to in the US. If we get a chance to come back to North Wales, we will definitely come back here. Thank you for the great meal!

Seems like the only choice of Viet food in town, but not worth it at all. Small portion, expensive, bad service But anyhow, choice is yours (0.5/10), 0.5 for the ok decent decorations

London price + extra payment charge + one third of portion + 100% MSG 1. Price - food are much more expensive than all the best Vietnamese restaurants I have had in London, costs £16.95 for pho with minimal ingredients 2. Extra charge - they do charge a fixed £1.2 per bill if you use a bank card or 5% if its an international card. We did pay a £1.2 using AE card, but they later blamed us for not informing them that it’s an AE card and demanded an extra 5% charge on top of everything, which is ridiculous. 3. Quality - we had pho and it left us very thirsty as it’s 100% full of MSG, and you could tell from the bland noodle that soup and noodle were cooked separately and unprofessionally. The few tiny slices of beef brisket were just absurd, and the generous amount of coriander as you can see from the picture. 4. Wooden chopsticks - we were only expecting a moderate expectations on quality given a very high price of food, however we were only served with wooden chopsticks that used in takeaways, not even proper cutlery. 5. Service - the staff seemed to have difficulty in accommodating 5 people and rejected us at first, and refused to combine a 3 +2 tables which was only one metre apart with no reason, not really an issue but it’s didn’t seem to be very welcoming. If I could leave it a zero stars or negative I would. I’m giving two stars just to hope that the feedback doesn’t look too irrational that could be skipped by readers. Honestly this is the worst dine-in experience I have ever had in the uk, where you don’t feel welcomed, and served with a reasonable quality of food that could justify its price, and most importantly, being charged extra, and being blamed for paying AE, and being asked to pay further more. Honestly it made us feel robbed.

Gorgeous little place in Llandudno, recommend a visit if you like Vietnamese food! Food is spicy but very delicious! Portions of the pho are large, I took the rest home with me! Taro bubble tea also really nice

Fantastic meal here, and so authentic. Vietnamese rolls were great. The pho was really yummy, warming and tasty! Perfect level of spice. Curry was very tasty, lots of flavour, spicy but balanced. Also my child had a chicken noodle soup and loved it even though they had never had pho before! Highly recommended and lovely smiley service!

My friends and me were just searching a nice restaurant to have some dinner, we wanted totry vietnami food.Place was good nice decorated, but staff were rude very bad service,food was not served properly and we left out very disappointed

Really nice setting - they've done a brilliant job making it feel like a place with a lot of character despite being relatively small. Nice atmosphere with loads of great decoration. Really enjoyed the food and the Pho portion was very generous. Very friendly, warm, genuine service. They looked slightly overwhelmed at peak time but certainly nothing that put us out Would recommend for a chilled out but quality meal out

We are veteran Vietnamese food goers and we were looking forward to have a nice Vietnamese meal before we go home the next day. We were left disappointed. First we found staff seem to have difficulty understanding us. Two orders were missing until we chased. Food was generally ok but portion is definitely on the small side. We had a few kids meals ordered but they were more like portions for infants than children, despite labeling as half portion (to adult). Soft drinks were served in large glass but only 3/4 full (just use smaller glass please). Finally, we found a fly in the pickled garlic jar (see photo) and we notified the staff, who took it away and asked us if we want another one. I guess you know how we felt at that point. Some of us adults were disappointed but the kids seemed to enjoyed themselves.

Very accommodating, friendly, efficient staff, and a very different menu from other cuisine - a nice change.

Walked in for a quick lunch when I visited Llandudno. All the dishes we ordered taste alright though the stir fried noodles were a bit salty.

Recent review July 2024: After really enjoying a date with my husband here, we brought the family on our recommendation for lunch. It's a small restaurant but the lady waiting was lovely in accommodating us and shifting the tables to seat our party of 7. They have updated the menu since we last visited, so it was great to see more veggie-friendly options. And the kids menu to have the half portion was good. We each ordered different dishes: Phở, calamari, rice, noodles, stir fry and curry. Everything was incredible, we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I was so excited to eat here I booked months ago for 3 people. When we arrived we were sat on a table for 2, the table behind us were so close the man’s elbows were in my husbands back. We asked to be moved to a bigger table and were told this was the table reserved for us. The frustrating thing was there were so many couples sat at tables for 4. We ended up leaving without eating which was very disappointing! The restaurants response below is incorrect We had ordered our drinks but told the waitress quickly as we did not want her to pour them and we explained the table was far too small. We made this very clear this was the reason. We certainly did not leave without paying for drinks. The waitress had only just walked behind the counter. If your comment was true and we had left and you made the waitress pay for the drinks you sound like a terrible employer, I would be ashamed to post that comment! If it was true!

By far the best food I've had in Llandudno. Me and my partner are on holiday here and honestly we've been a bit underwhelmed by a lot of the restaurants in town. What I didn't expect was to have one of the tastiest meals I've ever had at Merry Moon. My noodle soup was beautifully seasoned and delicious, the staff where attentive and very friendly and we had a great experience eating there. It was so good that we came back the next day! I would definitely recommend that you eat here.

Waiting staff very unprofessional. I tried to walk in, stood at door for a long time before anyone came to me, all the 3 staffs looked at me and then they kept doing their things. Finally one staff told me they would put me on the waiting list because they were busy, When I asked them about the last order time, she didn't even know what that was, and just say they close at 10 p.m but maybe close early. I still leave number to them Half hour later they called me but when the call was connected, they said nothing and hung up the phone after 20 seconds .

Food was very nice we had a take out fresh stir fry prawn noodles .food was very tasty but very small portion for the price I would not recommend as way too expensive for what we had £17.75 for one little tub of noodles 😳 and then to add to the insult a charge for using your card to pay 🙄😳

Let me start by saying the soup dishes here seem to be the thing to have. I got the thing I always have in a Vietnamese which is a pork Bún and it wasn't very good. The pork was a weird orange colour and for a restaurant claiming to be authentic my dish had salad in it that you would not find in Vietnam. My second issue here was the service. The waitress seemed to be waiting for you to finish your starter before the main was brought even though I had requested both my starter and main be brought at the same time. I like to eat the spring rolls I ordered with the Bún so I kept them aside until the main arrived which it never did so I was forced to eat them just so it would trigger the delivery of my main. Very annoying. The biggest issue I have with this restaurant is the insistence that people pay in cash. There are signs on the door, on the walls and it's even mentioned by staff when you try to pay by card. Is there an incentive to do this? A discount for paying in cash perhaps? No. It's an inconvenience and for a town in North Wales the prices here were shockingly more expensive than London so I found it rude that this was reiterated so much. I'm sure there is a legit reason for requesting this other than avoiding card fees (maybe not) but I found this to be a huge turn off and for that reason alone I would not visit here again.

This is an amazing find! Love all the hanging plants, guitars on the walls and shells in the tables but make no mistake this place is about the food! I had the pork stew and believe it’s the best thing I’ve eaten in years! Not to be missed (if you can get a table!) 😊

Pho was delicious, starters were very poor, microvaved?! We were very aware that the dumplings had been microwaved, we asked about this and we're told it was normal to microwave? I really don't think it is standard/ normal to microwave something that should be steamed? It feels like a bit of a half hearted attempt to bring food food to Llandudno

My British boyfriend loved his food when we ate at this restaurant. I loved it being an asian who has been to Vietnam. They really managed to make authentic vietnamese food!

Lovely kind caring staff. Food excellent....lemon roulade with raspberry coulis, home made, was truly the best I have had. Atmosphere at Merry Moon was beautiful . I did think that the 4 screens were not needed. Plants and other authentic items were great.

A small local place, serving some pretty good food. They did add a 5% charge to our bill for paying by card rather than cash, which I didn't think was legal any more though. Regardless, we'd go back here next time as the food was good, and we'd recommend you try it too.

A lovely place to eat, beautiful, piping hot food, well presented; attentive staff, informal atmosphere, attractive decor, extensive menu which also caters for vegetarians and vegans. We will be eating there again soon.

I went there for my 4 year anniversary we had a great time and ordered 3 starters 2 BIG mains and 4 drinks all for only £68 so £34pp ! All the food was amazing, very fresh and lovely and you could tell it was all homemade. I really enjoyed the Vietnamese style salad it was sweet and spicy but really good. The Pho was also amazing, it was comforting and great for a cold rainy day, the meat melts in your mouth and the soup was fantastic. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant is a work of art and everyone was chatting and laughing. I hope to go back in the future and try different dishes I also hope to see some traditional Vietnamese Desserts on the menu at some point as I would love to try some. Sadly I didn’t get any photos but it was truly fantastic, Thank you for an amazing night!

Just visited last Sunday. I was looking for a dog friendly place and ended up there by accident. What an happy accident it was! The place is very nice full of plants (real) giving a very welcoming and homely atmosphere. The food is excellent, Vietnamese cuisine is one of my favourite and this ticked all the boxes. We were asked how spicy we would liked our food (nice touch most places do not ask). The staff was really nice, they gave treat to our dog. If I wasn’t living on the other side of Wales I be there more often.

So so so good!!! This was genuinely the best Vietnamese food I've had outside of Vietnam! It was also the best meal I've eaten in Llandudno. Well worth a visit, but be aware it's genuinely authentic Vietnamese food, so go with an empty belly and an open mind and you will be in for a real treat. I genuinely couldn't recommend it more.

Beautiful place, lovely staff and excellent food. Me and my three friends visited and enjoyed all of our dishes. We had never tried vietnamese food before and we were all very impressed. The waitresses were very kind and attentative. We are looking forward to coming back next time and trying something new :) .

Called in here early on a weekday. Was the only one there, hence not a lot of atmosphere. However, the welcome, the service and the food was superb, so will definitely call again at this treasure of a place.

We visited back in May and found this restaurant by chance. Loved the small cosy atmosphere and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing and would definitely come again when we are near Llandudno.

This is a hidden gem! If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food, with friendly staff, then you must go here. We had the stir fry noodles, one chicken, 2 beef, with pancakes, and the food was exquisite 👌 full of flavour with fresh ingredients. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks.

Great Food, we loved the Pho and chicken wings starters. It's a nice cozy atmosphere restaurant, book before 6 and it nice and quiet. A great place to Celebrate our 4th Anniversary.

Lovely little restaurant, authentic food and delicate decorations. I accidentally left my leather jacket there when on trip, the owner has kindly offer to post it back to where I live and even willing to cover the cost. I was really impressed with the kindness and professional service shared. Highly recommend this restaurant, not only for the food but also the good vibe and trust it built up.

I have ate in many Vietnamese restaurants and had lots of excellent chef made food. Merry Moon gives there food a home made feel in a family run cafe vibe. A lovely experience way better than the rest of the microwave factory food chain restaurants otherwise available. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend this place if your looking for somewhere decent to eat. We liked it so much we visited again. They could do with some blinds to block out the sun, as it was far too warm, to note the venue is pretty small but has cute decor and amazing plants.

Very tasty food. Papaya salad was spicy, but highly aromatic, as well as the non spicy vietnamese curry.

Love the interior decorations: green plants, sea shells and charismatic guitars on the wall. We ordered a papaya salad, pork stew, spring rolls and a classic rice noodle soup. Every dish is so flavourful, tastes like they all have got a heart. It’s a surprise for me to come cross such a beautiful Vietnamese restaurant here in Llandudno. Definitely recommend ♥️

Top - Notch food experience. We stayed in Llandudno for 3 days and all 3 days we visited Merry moon for dinner. Very friendly staff and so welcoming. Do try their Vietnamese curry, that's the best. Even stir fry noodles and noodles soup were very tasty . For starters, meat ball and prawn dumplings. We will surely visit again.
