Link48 Bar & Restaurant in Derry

Excellent food and the service from the floor and the bar staff was out of this world. Entertainment was not as expected and tickets were bought for it and not checked, increasing the disappointment. However I don't think it's a reflection on link 48 as its out of their control and as I wish to reiterate food and staff were excellent

Food and drink was fantastic. Friendly staff and the Duck Cooked 3 ways was outstanding. Staff couldn't do enough, quick service and great atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable. Will be back x

We visited this beautiful restaurant for my birthday and what a wonderful time myself and my fiance had. From the moment we entered, we were looked after by Lisa and Corey, two of the nicest people we have ever met and can do their job so professionally and with ease. After getting our drinks promptly, we ordered the chicken burger and salt and chilli chicken mains. Both dishes were stunning.. they were mouthwatering. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and we were in heaven. After our beautiful mains, we proceeded to order the warm chocolate brownie with crushed pistachio on top and ice cream.. a lovely touch with Happy Birthday written in gooey chocolate sauce. We sat a while to digest, looking out over the beautiful setting of the golf course. All in all, this birthday dinner date was a big success and we were attended to so well throughout. Thankyou again Lisa and Corey and also the ever talented Marty Getty and brigade. We can't wait to come back.

I had organised a hen party followed by a surprise 30th birthday party in link 48 last week. I could not recommend the staff especially Lisa who helped everything from start to finish run so smoothly. Nothing was a bother & all the staff were so friendly. We had a buffet for both events & the food was outstanding, everyone was saying how lovely it was! I will definitely be using link 48 for future events. Can’t thank them all enough!

We booked tickets for the St Patrick’s Day event £11.25 incl booking fee. Upon arrival there were no free tables or chairs. I asked one of the waiting staff were there any tables, he shrugged his shoulders and walked the other way. I then asked bar staff and a kind staff member went looking for a table. There was a staff jacket held on one small table which wasn’t actually being used. As it was a smaller table half of us had to stand or sit on the steps! This wasn’t ideal when eating our food. After an hour or so a lady came over and offered extra chairs. The food from the buffet was lovely, really tasty and everyone enjoyed it. It was advertised that they were showing the parade on the big screen - my daughter was eager to watch as she had friends participating in the parade. I asked about this 15 minutes prior to the parade starting and I was told it would be shown. I ended up asking several times and it wasn’t shown, my daughter was hysterical and rightly so. We ended up having to leave the event and drive her into town and by this point the parade was over. I would not recommend this event again, it was clearly an event that was oversubscribed in terms of tickets sold to seats available and total chaos!

First visit to Link 48 on Saturday night. I took family members,(who travelled quite a distance and were hungry) for dinner here. We were glad to get this late booking, but were surprised at the amount of empty tables when we arrived. We ordered drinks including a quarter bottle,but was served a glass of unchilled wine. Starter arrived quickly. Nachos consisted of very little and, bland chilli beef. The wings were fine. We waited ages for mains. Very disappointed when they finally came. The chicken in a 'hunters sauce' was a very small dry fillet in flavourless gravy, on cold mash. Steak was hard and cold. The chips were undercooked. The rump steak sandwich was not hot, although due to long wait and a hungry diner, most of it was eaten. The waitress apologised and took away the steak and mash when we reluctantly complained. Less than 5 minutes later reappeared with 'another' steak and mash. This steak seemed to have been precooked, dry, and hard. The mash again was not hot, The Owner arrived at the table. I mentioned that we don't normally have reason to complain in restaurants, but felt she might appreciate constructive feedback. She seemed quite unconcerned, and was less than pleasant in manner, but offered dessert on the house. We politely declined. The owner then said " I will not charge for the steak" adding ( in an unprofessional way) "what else do you want me to do"? As one of us had eaten 'some' of the food I agreed to pay the bil. We will not be returning or recommending Link 48.

On friends recommendation we decided to go to Link48. The menu was nothing special to be honest. Starters arrived promptly nachos had no salsa sauce and quite bland. Chicken wings were really good. We waited ages for main course I ordered rump steak it was cold and so was the mash potatoes I sent it back to kitchen. I must commend the floor staff they were excellent and very efficient. A new meal came out very quickly unfortunately it was very tough and tasteless and dry potatoes were just warm. I ordered steak med to well done. I was so disappointed and hungry. I was unable to eat it. The other meals was Chicken in hunter sauce was slightly pink chips was hard. Steak sandwich was just ok it was not hot in my opinion but it was an open sandwich . There was no atmosphere just a TV with football on. It wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. The manager/ owner arrived to our table firstly the smell of cigarette wasn't pleasant saying we asked to speak to her which we didn't. But her attitude wasn't pleasant. My meal wasn't changed for and rightly so as I didn't eat it. Wine wasn't cold. But bar is separate we were informed. Kitchen staff kept looking out at our table and seemed very young. Before we left one of Kitchen staff came out behind bar putting his hands through his hair then proceeded to clean his face in his apron.

Was out for a bite to eat with my daughter and granddaughter but I like a few drinks first 😊. Had a lovely time, menu short but food was yummy! Service great, lovely being in the green room. Good luck and deff going to make it our go to. Thanks to Molly for her service 😊

Wasnin for carvery lunch today andnit didn't dissapoint. 3 meats with 3 veg and 2 potatoes and the flavour and quality was second to none. Pipingnhot and well presented. Starters and desserts were excellent. I had the Seafood chowder WOW. Floor staff couldn't do enough for us they were so welcoming and friendly. And it was all reasonablenpriced. We will he back

Was in tonight for Sunday dinner, service was so slow to start with 20 mins before drinks arrived. Soup was more like stew and there was no flavour at all, only 3 out of 4 had mains as food was that bad, they ran out of turkey and ham and only had chicken and beef to which you barely got any, chicken had a burnt taste and mash potatoes where hard and lumpy, the chef on service had long hair and a beard no hair net in sight, as someone who manages restaurants this is unacceptable. Will not be back

Excellent food , great selection of food. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, plenty of room for my husband's wheelchair.

Booked a table for Father’s Day. Music was so loud you couldn’t have a conversation. We went outside to get away from the noise only to discover there was a DJ playing outside, talk about overkill on the entertainment!! Food was awful, carvery, which we were not expecting. My husband got chicken which was inedible as it was as tough as old boots. We had one course each and left. There appeared to be very few staff and The staff that we did encountered were run off their feet. Will never go back and would not recommend this venue to anyone.

We were a party of 5 , one in a wheelchair. The staff are so attentive they work brilliantly together . The food was amazing we went for the two course early bird for £14.95 what a cracking deal. I forgot to take pics of our main course but I got pics of our deserts .. main course and deserts were all delicious.. Credit to the management your staff are fantastic

Worse meal I've ever had in my 21 years on this planet. I don't even think they would serve prisoners this quality of food. Between no food options, slow service, no food that we ordered being on the premises and a long black hair embedded into our portion of tobacco onions and being forced to pay full for the meal. I would actually suggest you eat of a bin than come here

Beautiful surroundings. Friendly and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious. The vegetarian/celiac options were as wide as the options in the carvery selection. Would definitely recommend.

Recently visited Link 48 with a group of friends for a meal. Unfortunately it was not good on several aspects. The staff are friendly but the food and certain aspects of service let it down badly especially the food. The servers stretched across everyone to had out our side dishes instead of actually serving individually to each person, there was plenty of room around the table to access individual serving. Steaks where ordered 1 medium rare and 1 medium to well both where given to the wrong recipient they weren't even asked who the medium to rare was for so both people started eating to find they where given the wrong meals. The Chicken Goujons where we'll and truly over cooked and bone dry they had a soapy taste. The restaurant manager did come to the table and asked was there a problem with the goujons to which I replied yes and explained they where over cooked and totally dry. She said we all tried them in the kitchen. This is my second visit to this place with a group of friends. On the previous occasion the Pavlova was so over cooked none of us could get the spoon though it. Again the female restaurant manager actually lifted one of them and started to press it between her fingers disintegrating it and said its fine to me, not very professional at all, Customer Service is sadly lacking in this establishment on several aspects. There is something fundamentally wrong when a manager can not genuinely address a customer complaint. She clearly needs customer service training and the staff need guidance on delivery of service at a table. This was not one mistake it was a serious of mistakes and bad food, our first party of 10 people at the first event and 6 in the second. At a current rate of non returning customers the survival of this restaurant is most definitely in question. A real shame because business is tough enough in this climate, the previous establishment owners were consistently good. That really is key in returning customers and the survival of any business. Trying to make a spectacul of a customers complaint is most definitely not acceptable nor does it fall within the realms of good customer service. On the basis of both these experiences I nor my friends would not return for a meal here at all. And would most definitely not recommend it to others. That in total is 16 customers not recommending this place and in fact actually telling others not to go there for the above reasons. I have been in customer service for many many years and this was most definitely among the worst.

The food wasn't at all good, I got the 50/50 and asked for medium rare steak, my steak was medium well and the chicken was a piece of chorizo chicken I assume was thrown o my plate because it was there! The tomatoes were like dried prunes, it was tasteless and absolutely no care taken with my order whatsoever. We had to ask to have the table wiped, and we had to ask for cutlery....all in all it wasn't a nice experience and very disappointing. We won't dune in their establishments again.

Booked by family to celebrate 2 birthdays as they had eaten here before. Service Prompt and mostly efficient ( they forgot my drink and my food arrived later than everyone else’s) but apart from that attentive staff. Food Most had starters ranging from garlic bread ( weird serving it on salad?!) to chicken wings and all were happy with them. Mains came, served on warm plates ( hooray), I had a hearty portion of baked salmon, chicken burger pronounced as good, salt and chilli cod was enjoyed.No desserts as too full. Venue This is where they loose out, we were seated in the bar ‘ Amelia’s’ whereas some of the party had sat in an adjacent room before which they said was lovely. They had a singer performing- don’t get me wrong he was good, but it meant you were having to raise your voice to be heard plus a very loud birthday party who were enjoying copious amounts of alcohol meant it was a really noisy evening. Difficult to hear the servers when they were wearing masks over all this. Also someone vaping at the bar!!!! If I go out to a bar for a drink I’m happy to listen to music but not while I’m enjoying a family meal and seeing folks I haven’t seen for a couple of years.

First of all it is good to see this place open after a major fire destroyed the kitchen and seating area. We were in the function room. Everything was fine with staff, surrounding area etc. Menu was very basic. and service was good. We ordered food and to be fair most of it was good, but, a few of us had garlic ciabatta as a starter and to be honest everyone that had it said the same thing that the bread was dried out and stale. The main problem was after the meal going up to the bar to get the bill. I was standing there for over 5 minutes whilst standing there people came along side me and was getting served before me getting drinks. I eventually got the bill and had to query it again. I was charged for starters that we did not get and there was the problem with a dessert a child got, the lady serving the childs dessert said the portion was at least half the size that normally is served and as such would not charge, Okay, fair enough, as I always give a decent tip I thought that was decent until I seen the bill and they only took off 70 pence for this. I was very disappointed on this trip especially when my family come here almost weekly and I am talking of at least 5 people. This is not the first occasion that this has happened especially when being billed for food that you have not ordered
