While staff are great. Foid lovely would have given 5 stars but the door was open as it was a hot day and the smokers who sit outside may as well have been inside as their smoke was wafting into the cafe. Revolting

The stew! Oh the their famous beef stew is amazing! A must if you come here. The chocolate brownie is naughty but it’s definitely worth ordering even if you share one! The propertier is very welcoming and runs a great ship! We will be back.

Had a really nice Salt Beef Reuben Sandwich 🥪 here, very tasty and great customer service from Steph.

The menu choices here are excellent. In the past, I've had the deliciously succulent Reubens Salt Beef sandwich, the light and fluffy American Pancakes but today I opted for simple Easy Limes breakfast. The bacon was of exceptional quality. My teenage son was disinterested until his Oreo cookie arrived...We'll come again, he whispered. The staff here are fabulous and very courteous. Great start to a Bank Holiday weekend.

Tucked away in the heart of Winchmore Hill, Limes Café is an absolute gem. I popped in for a quick brunch and ended up discovering my new favourite local spot. The flat white was spot on—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. But the real star was the smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, feta, confit tomatoes, and crispy bacon. The eggs were perfection—that elusive jammy, gooey centre with fully set whites. It’s a small detail, but it shows real skill in the kitchen, and they absolutely nailed it. The combination of creamy avo, salty feta, sweet burst-from-the-vine tomatoes, and smoky bacon on hearty sourdough was just heavenly. Every bite was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and bursting with flavour. Service was warm and welcoming, and the whole place has that lovely neighbourhood café feel that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Can’t wait to come back—this place is the real deal.

Delicious poached eggs with spinach and mushrooms. Proper pots of tea. Super friendly staff. Bike racks available straight outside and they can lend you bike locks too. Great!

Lovely traditional cafe set in Winchmore Hill in North London. The owners have revamped the place but kept the traditional look from the 30s. Coffee is great, the service is excellent, and the food is nicely varied for a cafe from breakfast to good hearty lunches. Highly recommended for those who want to eat well without breaking the bank. I highly recommend the salt beef sandwich - it's excellent.

Amazing and proper American-style pancakes - freshly made in house! Not microwaved or flat as commonly found in other cafés, so this is a real gem. Service is also friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is also great - background music is not too loud which makes conversation easy and relaxing. Thank you, too, to Leo who was very welcoming. We will be sure to return!

This place had the best bacon I’ve ever eaten and the eggs Benedict is a must, the coffee and the service were super great and I would highly recommend if you are in the area! Good family business.

Best Cafe in North London! Hands down! No brainer! The whole family love it! This Cafe has been passed down to our next generation for a reason. Food is awesome! Atmosphere feels like home. There is a reason it was established in 1936 and is still thriving! If you haven't been - just go! 10 out of 10!

We visit limes cafe regularly and are always impressed with the quality of the food and service. Leo, Michelle and the whole team are friendly and welcoming and the food we’ve tried has all been delicious. Can highly recommend the breakfast muffin, Reuben sandwich, pancakes, omelette and both the eggs benny and eggs royale.

Everything was lovely, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with warm, natural light pouring through the windows and a friendly, attentive staff that makes you feel right at home. The menu is a perfect mix of classic brunch favourites and creative twists. I went for their breakfast muffin which was delicious 100000/10! What really stood out to me was the overall vibe of the place. It’s relaxed but not rushed, perfect for a lazy Sunday morning. I’ll definitely be coming back soon and recommending it to everyone I know. If you’re looking for a spot that serves delicious food with a side of great service, Limes Cafe is a must!

Their famous beef stew with mash potato and veg is mama mia… absolutely delicious and at a great price. I’ve had breakfasts there and they 👌 great too! I would highly recommend!

I recently visited Limes Cafe and was greeted promptly upon arrival, which started the experience on a positive note. I ordered the Lime Loaded Breakfast and a cappuccino. The cafe was full and busy, which is understandable given its popularity, but the overall experience was disappointing. It took more than 30 minutes for the breakfast to arrive, and by that time, my coffee had gone cold, making it hard to fully enjoy the meal. The bacon was overly salty, and the toast was brought out well before the main dish, meaning it had gone cold by the time I got to eat it. While the staff was friendly, the service felt average and could use improvement. It would have been helpful if the team had been more attentive and kept me informed about the delay. Overall, the potential for a great experience is there, but the service and timing need to be better coordinated to ensure guests can enjoy their meals as intended.
