Disappointing experience. We were drawn in by the prix fixe menu which made it look like you got a salad starter then a choice of steak or mussels and frites with extras and sides but nothing else was included apart from the mussels or steak and frites, not even the salad so not sure why it would be termed a prix fixe menu. My wife had a dozen mussels that were not open. I had the 4 tapas style dishes for £21 which portion wise were good but only the calamari and garlic bread were enjoyable for me. For a Friday night there were only 4 tables occupied but the food still took 40 mins to arrive.

Service was great and atmosphere was lovely however, I think some improvements can be made to the cauliflower steak. £19 for a boiled, flavourless cauliflower and a couple of carrots is a bit disappointing. The rest of the party ordered steaks and really enjoyed them mind.

OMG never thought i would find somewhere that impressed me as much as Marco Pierre Whites steakhouse but i was wrong. The steak here was just beautiful, full of flavour and right on par with what i previously considered to be the best. I found Prohibition on Google while we were staying in anglesey and really liked the look of the place and the sound of the menu so we decided to pop in on the off-chance we'd get a table. We were greeted as soon as we entered by a really friendly gentleman who seated us straight away and explained all the offers and options available on the menu. I felt the place had a real new orleans style atmosphere with music to match. It all really suits the menu. We didn't have a long wait for food and were not disappointed with what we were served. Everything was cooked to perfection, with plenty of flavour and good sized portions. We are coming back to Anglesey in summer and will be dining here when we return. Beautiful!

Had the steak and fries lovely piece of steak cooked perfectly with a very generous posrtion of fries. Had to have one of their fab cocktails as usual. Prompt service and friendly staff

Newly rebranded to Prohibition, we had a table for 4 booked at 19:30, turned up a little early and were sat by a friendly young woman, unfortunately this was the last positive experiance at the restaurant. We waited 45 mins with no drinks or food and left. 2 people in our party had been to the bar to try and order drinks, they were ignored on all 3 attempts to speak to the barman. Eventually the waiter did take our drinks order and food order, but no drinks ever turned up to the table. Meanwhile a table of 2 who came in after us had their drinks. Can't comment on the food as we had enough of the lack of service and left. I might have been able to understand if the restaurant was packed and staff were doing their best, but it wasn't, the restaurant was barely half full and the staffs attitude was appalling. Avoid, plenty nicer places to eat nearby.

Absolutely delicious. Beautifully cooked steak, delicious sauce, dressed salad and amazing desserts.

Just lovely staff, were extremely helpful with everything

Beautiful venue, food average at a push. We visited on a quiet Saturday night - a few of the dishes were unavailable (once the orders had been taken to the kitchen!!) Some food was cold (Albondigas x1 piping hot x1 Luke warm, tasteless (Boi Buns). Two of our dishes simply didn’t turn up! Really poor, over priced and unapologetic staff. Would not recommend.

Awful chicken wings Visited around February and had the most amazing plates of chicken wings. Large and juicy filled the plate (Korean and buffalo?). We returned in July having been raving about this restaurant to all our family and friends. The wings arrived and were tiny. Also an insipid white fatty colour. Looked like had been boiled. Tiny bits of chicken between skin and bone - so disappointed! Totally different experience. Could never have again. So had to reverse all my recommendations. The saving grace are the drinks. Cocktails made to order and mixed on site.

Excellent service, lovely friendly staff. Very relaxed atmosphere. The food was amazing, loved the dishes we ordered. Chicken wings and Patata bravis are my favourite

Amazing food but awful service. Only one waiter working when we arrived and only one other table in the restaurant. Even when 5 other waitresses arrived the service was extremely slow. They missed a dish on our order which we didn’t mind as it is tapas and just asked them to bring it out when it’s ready but the young girl who thinks she owns the place made a big fuss. Then no one came to check on the table for 45 minutes. We had to go up to the waitresses twice to ask for one glass of water. The food is amazing there but the service is awful. The one who I’m guessing was in charge of the evening was rude and the others looked like they didn’t know what they were doing. Clearly lacking training. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all.

Was a quiet evening there, went for my sons birthday. Good tunes, food was lovely and the staff very efficient and friendly

We went for the Tapas night not disappointed. Recommend 3 dishes per person, we tried to finish 4 each but there was just too much (not complaining, my eyes were bigger than my belly) I wanted to keep trying the dishes as they were so good. The best being King prawn, trust me. Clean restaurant. Pleasant and attentive waiting staff. Lovely food. I felt the price was a quite high. However Anglesey seems quite an expensive place so it's probably averaged price here. Prices are clearly displayed and the food was excellent. Thank you.

It was my daughters birthday and she loves tapas. We were not disappointed. The food was all excellent, even my fussy husband enjoyed it. The staff were on point. Only issue was I couldn't leave a tip on my card and we had no cash. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. I had one of the special cocktails it was yum! We ordered 3 tapas each and a cheesy garlic bread to share between 2 and it was more than enough food. Some dishes had more in terms of portion size than others. Really well priced for what you get. Really friendly staff too who answered any questions we had

The food was really nice and had good service. We have been before and will be going again with friends. Marked atmosphere down as we were only people in but was early Friday afternoon.

Really tasty Tapas in a smart building, comfortable environment and helpful staff. Some great dishes - try the Peeking Pig (stet) and many other great dishes to share.

The food was nice (albeit small portions) and the service could have been quicker. Pricey bar. All round, a nice upmarket restaurant but pricey.

Recently visited the Libertine and there was a good, bustling atmosphere. Even though it was busy, staff were attentive. Food was delicious. Will certainly return!

Staff were lovely very attentive but some of the food was not good at all, the fish cake was tasteless and the Mac cheese was stodgy with no taste of cheese they must have noticed in the kitchen there were only two mouthfuls eaten from it so won't be back.

10 family members traveled from Bedfordshire to Bangor to go to Zip World. We took a gamble and booked Libertine, we had no reviews so wasn’t sure if it was good or not. Well I’m glad we did take the gamble. Such lovely helpful staff and great food. They serve Tapas but with a bit of a twist. We all loved the dishes we ordered. We don't live local but If we did we would definitely go back Thank you.

Fabulous tapas food with friendly service. We loved our meal, generous sized portions and lovely flavour to everything! Would totally recommend going.

This used to be my favourite restaurant in Menai Bridge but on this occasion it’s changed dramatically. Service extremely poor for a sat night, no staff? apart from one young blonde lady who was lovely. Good cocktails although waited half an hour for them. Menu too busy and expensive. With the rise of costs restaurants also need to deliver and not disappoint.

we visited on the 12th of august for my friends birthday meal and had a lovely time, the food was incredible and service was lovely. big shout out to nathan who very kindly took the time to put a tick or a cross next to every dish on the menu for me to show me which dishes I could and couldn’t eat with my nut and seed allergy. I was so grateful, what a kind guy! he deserves a raise! thanks very much to all the lovely staff for making the meal so special, cant wait to visit again soon!

As regular visitors to The Midland, thought we’d try Libertine. Glad we did! Great food, great service. Couldn’t fault it.

Well what a night, we visit Anglesey every year and by luck came across Libertine, the food was outstanding, the service was great even with them being short staffed and what a lovely environment to eat in! We will be back!

Very eclectic menu and poor beer but service was spot on and very nice inside.

I was surprised to see the menu change, I was there in April and thought the food and service was good. The menu for me now is confusing, tapas from all different countries which is fine if there was enough of the same type of tapas grouping but you find yourself mixing flavours and it just doesn’t work. Service was also really poor. I’m sad to give this restaurant this review as it was always been a good recommendation..

Very disappointing! It wasn't our first visit and we previously had a good experience but unfortunately after today we wont be back and would not recommend this restaurant. We had booked a table for two online and received a call advised us that we would be sitting at the Bar which we were happy with. Sadly as we arrived we were given a table with barstools by the toilet ,behind a partition which i can only imagine was put up to hide the toilets. As the restaurant was busy there was a frequent flow of people passing by using the restrooms, each passing with an apologetic smile. When we told the staff of our disappointment they were in agreement that the table should not be sold but management was of different opinion. Working in hospitality myself I am aware of the struggles the industry is facing in the wake of covid and with ever rising costs. I appreciate that businesses have to be creative to maximise revenues and sacrifices have to be made … BUT it is an insult to me as a customer and a clear lack of respect if a business is clearly not thinking of the customer experience. Very short sighted and in my eyes a strategy that can only fail!

Sat for 45minutes before our food order was taken, otherwise a nice night, food was lovely, came out in random order and unfortunately they'd run out of chips.

Shocking. My wife booked us a table and she was sure she booked it without it being near a window, as she knew you would end up on one of the stools. They originally put us on a table on the far side of the restaurant which we were happy with. Then another customer had come in and we were asked to move as they said we booked a seat near a window. We didn’t question it at the time as we don’t like to make a fuss. They proceeded to move us to the entrance of the restaurant saying they made a mistake and this is our seat. Strange how on their computer it shows us on one side of the room first then we are moved to the complete opposite side. We asked to be moved twice but were refused saying they were fully booked. Even though during our time there we saw two tables available with no one there. The seat we were given was a total disrespect for any paying customer. We had two stools near the front door. When anyone came in to the restaurant they were stood by my shoulder waiting to be seated. Not only that but you had to eat off a basic window sill. I mean basic because there was no over hang over your legs so we could sit properly to eat. We had to sit on an angle and twist your body to eat. Seriously who thinks eating off a window sill near the front door is a good idea? I get you may be trying to make as much money off people as possible during covid times but they basically ignored the covid situation with us by seating us at the front door where people were brushing past us to get out of the front door. No social distancing there!

Food was really nice but the attitude of the waiting staff and table service was terrible.

Food was incredible, and the service was good. There was a mistake with our order, but the staff sorted it and gave us a free dish on the house. Very satisfied

Very disappointed 😞food was lovely bit lapsidasy arriving in dribs and drabs waited 25 minutes for some water had the bill mentioned to the lady serving us the wine was as if it was de corked bits were floating in the glass and the carafe the server said ye that's happened before went to the till talked about the situation to her supervisor and another 3 members off staff who all turned and looked at me felt embarrassed was given no explanation from the supervisor on shift I even asked to speak to the manager and was told the supervisor was on shift I wasn't happy to speak to her because she was one of the ladies talking about me Very disappointed will not be going back in a hurry spent £70 on a special occasion waste of money

We stumbled across Libertine by accident and, as we are both fans of tapas, decided to return later that evening. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent, and the price not at all expensive. We've had a lot worse and paid a lot more. A big plus, for me, is that Libertine have Somersby cider on draught. A lot of restaurants have awful bottled ciders like Magners, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Overall, we couldn't fault anything about Libertine from the moment we walk in, until when we left. I highly recommend calling in if you're passing through Menai.

Delicious - probably the best meal I’ve ever had in Menai Bridge. Tasty little plates and good wine to wash it down, staff were friendly too.

Libertine was fantastic. We came in a group of 6 and ordered 4 small plates each, (3 would probably have been enough) The quality was great, the selection was awesome a good mixture of meat, fish, sides and more.

We booked online 4 weeks prior and included a note about one persons nut allergies 2 hours before our booking we got a voicemail - which we can upload if anyone’s interested, saying they couldn’t accommodate us We rang the restaurant and tbh they couldn’t be any less interested. By the way, the booking was to celebrate an engagement so pretty special. We found somewhere else locally as 2 hours notice that could cater for allergies and we had a lovely evening We left an honest Google review - see above The owner replied with a nice review basically saying sorry, we could have done better. ALL GOOD Then bizarrely they edited their response and blamed us for not specifying which nut allergy was the issue. LOL So basically be ready to have your NHS app open if you have any dietary requirements and would like to book at Libertines. Which ironically means freedom or something … 😩

Absolute garbage. Booked 4 weeks ago. Advised of one parties nut allergy. Left an answer message 2 hours before we were due to go to say they can’t guarantee that dishes won’t contain nuts. Just arrived in wales booked this as we were Celebrating daughter’s engagement. Rang them. Didn’t really care. 1 star as not allowed to put zero. As an update to the owner . I know you changed your reply now. Actually I still have the message left by your staff on the answerphone Your staff did not make any attempt other than to tell us they couldn’t cater for a nut allergy so they would have to cancel the booking. The message is quite clear. Disappointing you now feel the need to edit what you originally posted. Sad you don’t just accept your staff got it wrong. Cancelling a 5 week old booking 2 hours before we were due to come with the explanation your staff left. Wow really. You got it wrong. Just accept it. Poor response.

IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES - AVOID THIS RESTAURANT! If I could put 0 I would!!! Booked around 4 weeks prior to the date for a special family meal - celebrating mine and my partner’s engagement. Advised the restaurant of my partner’s nut allergy when booking. Member of staff left an answer phone message 2 hours before we were due to go to say they can’t guarantee that dishes won’t contain nuts and that we couldn’t attend. My dad rang the restaurant and they showed next to no care. Fortunately we found somewhere else to eat who didn’t discriminate against people with allergies!! Sadly, the owner has felt the need to change his original response to my dad’s review, but we do have the voicemail to prove that this was absolutely not the case. Please let me know where to forward the voicemail on so you can better educate your staff members in future rather than discriminating against people with allergies.

Incredibly delicious! The best meal we've had in a long, long time! Fantastic staff, food faultless, lovely atmosphere, really clean and sharp décor, great range of quality drinks. We had an extremely excellent leisurely lunch.

First time I've visited Libertine and it was amazing. Comfortable and safe dining. Staff very pleasant, smart and helpful. Food delicious and well presented. Definitely will return,soon I hope.

Amazing food! Very polite staff and we really enjoyed it!

Calamari and beetroot dishes fine but burger overcooked and string fries greasy. Coffee machine broken so couldn't have a cappuccino.

Not enough staff, to long to order, over 30minutes to serve a jug of water and a bottle of wine when patrons seated after us had received drinks and food. Given out of date menus that then were changed when we ordered dishes no longer available. Another delay. When the food came it was very good. But some dishes on the order had been missed and after questioning they were re ordered and served after everything else was eaten. The manager apologised and blamed staff shortages.

Visited last week. Delicious meals all round. Everyone happy.

Place not busy and waited 4 to 5 minutes to be seated, portion sizes small relative to prices.
