Liban Coast in Hastings

I popped in last Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. Food was nice and service even better. The two waiters are so friendly.

We had a lovely lunch in this little St. Leonard's sea front restaurant and l believe it's well worth visiting, food is cooked fresh with good quality ingredients, service is swift, polite and very attentive and prices are extremely reasonable. I specifically wanted to recommend the meze sharing platter with one of the best falafels l ever had, moist, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is on a smaller side but perfectly proportionate with plenty of comfortable seating, they offer take away service as well if you aren't keen on eating in. We had a starter to share and an individual second course each with beer and lovely baklava and paid under £45 for everything which is a huge value for money in today's economy. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Highly recommend. The staff were extremely polite and friendly, particularly a young man, maybe 17 or 18? He was so polite and well presented, it was a pleasure to have him as our waiter. The sharing platter was amazing. Beautifully set on the plate and an abundance of different tastes. Thank you, we shall return.

I'm absolutely obsessed with the Liban Coast Restaurant! Having dined here countless times and brought visitors along on multiple occasions, I can confidently say it's a culinary gem. The food is phenomenal, service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is electric. In my book, Liban Coast stands head and shoulders above any other restaurant in St Leonards and Hastings. But what truly sets it apart is the owner - a kind-hearted, thoughtful individual who embodies exceptional customer service. His passion for delivering an outstanding experience shines through in every aspect of the restaurant. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favour and visit Liban Coast. You'll be treated like family, and the flavors will leave you wanting more. Five stars isn't enough – I'd give it ten stars if I could!

Went into Liban for lunch today. Very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. My partner and I shared the meze, which was the perfect amount for two. It was absolutely delicious. We also shared the prawns from the specials menu, which were great. While we were there, we heard people coming in asking for baklava, so I couldn't turn down the chance to try it—and I wasn't disappointed! The pistachio baklava, along with a coffee, was a perfect end to the meal. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely be back. Thank you again to the amazing staff!

We had the most amazing experience at Liban Coast in St. Leonards! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Jayden, our waiter, whose friendly and chatty nature set the tone for a fantastic evening. Shortly after, Hassan, the wonderful host and owner, also came over to greet us with a warm welcome, making us feel right at home. Throughout the evening, both Jayden and Hassan looked after us, ensuring we had everything we needed. Jayden worked tirelessly, making sure that all customers were having the same wonderful experience we were. Jayden’s enthusiasm and dedication were truly impressive. He’s an absolute asset to the team with a bright future ahead. And then there was the food…absolutely incredible! The chefs outdid themselves, creating some of the most delicious Lebanese-Syrian cuisine we’ve ever had. Every dish was bursting with flavour, and we could tell how much care and passion went into each one. A special highlight of the night was meeting Mohamad, the head chef, who took the time to come over and chat with us. His warmth and passion for his food were evident, and it was clear that his skill and dedication are at the heart of the restaurant’s success. He is truly an asset to Liban Coast, making the dining experience even more memorable. Liban Coast is a true gem in Saint Leonards, combining outstanding food with warm and genuine hospitality. It's not a restaurant or pub, is beautiful seaside with lovely landscapes and views.

We bought some of the beautiful handmade baklava for a family gathering. Presented beautifully, fresh and melt-in-the mouth gorgeous.

Food was flavourless and poor. Portions were very lacking, taste and quality not good enough. I'm tired of paying unwarranted prices for boring food. Waitress was lovely.

Lovely place, made you feel very invited instantly. Range of food was inspiring with lots of unknown dishes to try. We had a sharing platter. The egg was a bit flavourless but everyrhing else was tasty. Price is reasonable and we left with very full and satisfied tummies.

A warm and wonderful place in a grey cold February . As soon as we walked in we felt welcomed . Delicious food , (outstanding humous, felafel and chicken liver ! ) and lovely team (Jayden ) who could not have been more attentive. Thank you Liban

Had a delicious meal here at the weekend. Very tasty and freshly made veggie tagine, kibbeh and falafel and a gorgeous dessert- a traditional semolina cake. Really lovely and not too sweet. The owners and staff there were also really lovely! very welcoming and explained the menu. Thank you!

This family run restaurant provides great food at great value. The food is freshly cooked and the service is excellent. The waiter and the waitress were both attentive, friendly and really lovely. My pan fried chicken livers were perfect (the flat bread was slightly overdone) but the food overall is fantastic. My friends marinated chicken shawarma with harissa potatoes was delicious.

Outstanding Middle Eastern cuisine paired with exceptional customer service! After a fantastic experience dining in last year, we decided to try a takeaway this year, and it did not disappoint. Every single person in our group—including a vegetarian, a vegan, and even those avoiding carbs—absolutely loved the food. A huge thank you to Hassan and the incredible team for their efforts. This place has officially become a favorite for our family!

Great experience at this little restaurant along the seafront. Me and my partner dined here on New Year’s Eve and the food was amazing, very tasty. The service was also brilliant from all members of staff who served us, it is rare to find such good service when dining out. Would definitely choose to dine here again if in the Hastings area.

Amazing food, slightly disorganised with bookings and who was supposed to be sitting where but I’d give them the credit of doubt as it was so busy and a Friday evening.

We found a few interesting restaurants near our hotel, but Liban Coast stood out as an opportunity to try something really interesting and authentic. It turned out to be a great choice. A family run restaurant, producing great dishes with fabulous flavours. If we were local, it would become a regular haunt, but we are not, so we'll be back tomorrow for brunch and we certainly won't forget to visit next time we are in the area. Two particularly brilliant things to try - The grilled chicken salad. It sounds basic, but wow! Far from basic. A superb blend of ingredients and flavours. Lebanese Coffee, so different but whether your preference is normally for espresso, or just a good filter coffee, this Arabica coffee with a subtle hint of cardamom is a fantastic alternative. Family run, the service is great and very friendly. Prices are reasonable, so give it a try.

What a gem! Delicious authentic homemade food, which looks and tastes amazing. You can taste the love which has gone into preparing it. I particularly recommend the baklava - the best I've ever come across in the UK.

We're so pleased to have discovered this restaurant on our travels between Bexhill and Hastings. We booked for dinner and had the chicken shwarma and a veggie mezze platter, followed by baklava and pistachio icecream with Arabic coffees and mint tea. Everything was prepared fresh and totally delicious. We highly recommend and will make the effort to return to Liban Coast.

It has taken me too long to have visited, as I had heard great things. The welcome is friendly and the food is amazing. The owner suggested we tried his new lamb recipe as it was not on the menu, it was fabulous.

Liban Coast is an incredible restaurant located in Hastings. I came here for dinner as I was inspired by the fusion of Syrian and Lebanese food. The food was indeed mouth watering, and the set up of the restaurant is extremely cosy. What topped it all off was Hassan (the owner) and Lara (his daughter) who served us. They were so welcoming and kind which made our eating experience so much more pleasurable. It is a great spot for both lunch and dinner, takeaway and eating in. The ingredients are fresh and the recipes are bursting with authenticity. I recommend the 'Mezza platter' and the 'Chicken Main' with the 'Rose water' drink. Thank you so much!

Outstanding middle eastern food , allows BYO but does have a license now . The mixed meze starter was very generous and the chicken liver main one of the best I've had . Lovely host/friendly staff and a sea front view . Very good indeed.

My partner and I popped into the restaurant by chance during an evening walk at 2045. We must have been the last customers for dinner and we were fully prepared to be told that the kitchen was winding down. Quite the opposite - we were greeted warmly by the family and sat down immediately. We went for the shared mezze platter and a chicken shawarma. All I can say is that it was absolutely delicious. Homemade falafel to die for, creamy humus, ‘just right’ halloumi, crispy bread….do I need to go on? The chicken and potatoes were also top tier and we left stuffed and happy! Last thing to mention is the proprietors and staff. There is nothing better than patronising a restaurant which is run by a local family and clearly a focal point of the community. We were clearly lucky that Saturday night - book to avoid disappointment! We will be back very soon.

A gem of a restaurant right on the coast. You can see the sea from your seats. The food is reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Good specials menu too. The staff are friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this lovely place.

Small, casual restaurant, home made, mid priced. My Lamb Tagine was ok, flavours not differentiated enough. This was a Days Special been sitting around a bit too long. Modest sized portion that could have been stretched with a salad. Spouse's chicken WAS interesting with Harissa potatoes and a salad. Pint of lager at £6.50 nearer London prices than Hastings area. This was a small restaurant was packed, and therefore was noisy. However - we made a mistake on the order and the lady managed/owner was very keen to reverse our mistake. Impressed. Would we go back, possibly. I'll go for the chicken and skip the beer.

I arrived at Liban Coast and I use a wheelchair and one of the staff offered me help to get up the step in, all the staff were helpful and quick to find us a seat. I took my son Max with me and we had a fabulous meal, I had the Chicken Salad & Max aged 12 had the beef & chicken wrap. We also had a side of falafel & humus, the food was nicely presented, skillfully cooked & portioned correctly. The service was prompt. I think this restaurant is excellent +++ value. If you want to secure a seat BOOK IN ADVANCE.

Excellent service, delicious food. We made a last-minute booking for 15 people and they were extremely accommodating. Hassan, one of the owners, handled our booking personally and made the whole process very easy. The food was incredibly tasty (I'd personally recommend the mezze for two, and the turkish delights) and the restaurant had a lovely feel to it - they even offered to hang up our coats! Good selection of food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to keep everyone happy. Had a really lovely evening there and would highly recommend!

It would have been nice if the food was home made rather than store bought.

Had an amazing dinner here - the waiter and chef made the mezze for two vegan for us, which was really delicious. Loved the rose drink, harissa potatoes, and varieties of baklava too. Very friendly and kind service, wonderful food, great location - highly recommended especially for vegetarians and vegans.

Went here after reading reviews, I think it’s all new staff. They were very helpful and great at service. Our food arrived in a timely manor, all was ok. Some issues but dealt with very well and didn’t affect the meal…… there is room for improvement which I’m sure is forth coming. Well worth a visit as it’s a completely different style of food. The bread was great but not on the menu as an extra…a shame and it really good. Will go back later in the year. Great family owned place, reasonably priced food too.

Everything was perfect. Food was excellent, we shared the Syrian breakfast and it was just so so delicious. My Syrian partner was equally impressed. Arabic coffee and Turkish delight were also delicious. I look forward to going back.

The best food on a consistent basis … I eat here so often, they know my order before I tell them . Not sure why it’s taken me so long to leave a review. Love it !! And I recommend this place to all visiting the area.

There where eleven of us who ate in this small restaurant on Saturday evening. Some enjoyed their meals, while a few, like myself who had ordered an Egyptian steak dish as our main, didn't. We basically had no steak in what was a very small dish of rice and vegetables. One person resorted to asking for extra steak and was given a few measly chopped up pieces on the side. I don't complain though, I just don't return. So I just ate my steakless dish and paid. Even the prawns we had as starters resembled reformed prawns, rather similar to scampi. Nothing was actually as it was on the menu. Most of us were quite unimpressed with the service and very disappointed in the quality of the dishes. Cant speak for anyone else at the table, but I definitely won't be back there. It's a shame though, cos when one tries a new place, you don't appreciate being shafted. To be fair I'd much rather buy a meal deal at Tesco because at least I know what to expect.

We booked a table last week and I just phoned to say we may be a little late and was advised that our booking was not there.we were obviously disappointed and were then accused of being rude! Not a way to get future business . Such a shame !!!!

A very friendly establishment with excellent food and service. I celebrated my birthday there with relatives and they were wonderful. They don't sell alcohol but they allow you to bring your own and they supply their own glasses. They were great.

I had the steak and hummus. It was glorious. In fact everyone at our table loved their meals. We ordered additional mezze plates to share -- we were so full and satisfied by the end that we didn't order the absolutely mouthwatering deserts. Next time I will either save room or get some to go, because who doesn't love baklava? The proprietor is a friendly gentleman -- do them and yourself a favour and visit.

Nice food but you have to take your own drinks they don't serve alcohol and they charge you £6 for having a bottle of wine there which I don't think is very fair.

The food was delicious, would definitely recommend booking in advance for good service. We enjoyed the outside seating in the sunshine. Got the mezza platter for one and the chicken main to share between two. The drinks were also tasty and refreshing.

This place is a total gem. Authentic food, including the wonderful brunch meze, big choice of fresh baklava, proper Arabic coffee and fresh mint tea, fast professional friendly service in a great spot overlooking the sea. Make sure you book if you go at the weekend, it's usually full! No drinks license, but welcome to bring your own for a small charge.

Weird and dirty. 4 people working (doing nothing) there. The place was dirty, table also dirty... Which only makes you imagine the kitchen. Worsted way to greet and welcome customers.
