LeWinters in Ards

Four of us were there last night, 14.10.24. We all chose different meals. I had the lamb and can say it was the best I've had when eating out. I would give it 5 stars. Hazel =)

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I would give zero stars if I could. Firstly, the waiter spilled a drink on my autistic brother, it was replaced and he was apologetic but a nightmare start. Our order was then taken but after sitting waiting around 25 minutes we called on a waiter to ask what was happening. The waiter then informed us that the order had "disappeared", we couldn’t believe it and were in shock. I will give this waiter credit, he was very apologetic and actually managed to take our order correctly, he was attentive and checked in on us to make sure all was good. We were told after by the manager that the order had “disappeared into the ether". Ridiculous and unprofessional. If they were busy we would understand but it was pretty empty I thought for a Saturday night. We got our food soon after and it was decent enough but not as nice as when I had previously ordered from home, the beef on them occasions was melt in your mouth stuff and it was perfect. Also felt I got more value for money back then as there was mash included with the silverside but wasn’t on this night. Previously it was £17 for a roast and now it’s £21 so you’re paying more for less. In all honesty though the initial woeful service took so much away from it and ruined my meal. A discount was rightly given but it has put me off coming back.

Had another excellent meal at La Winters..there were a lot of empty tables which is a surprise as it used to be always busy..Don't know why as the menu is varied and very reasonably priced..

Food was devine, daniel was spot on good service, as for holly amazing service so attentive and fast service 5 stars for her, anything we needed she helped straight away what a lovely lady xx

LeWinters is great for a night out or just staying for a night or 2. Very clean and lovely food and drink.

Good food good atmosphere but can be quite expensive

Wasn't very impressed. Most of the staff are very pleasant but the restaurant manager was very grumpy. I think it's overpriced for some of their dishes. Very disappointing so we won't be going back again.

I had a roast beef dinner my daughter had scampi the food was amazing. Staff were really friendly.

My wife and I had dinner this evening, both roast absolutely delicious, the only thing missing was an addition of Yorkshire to roast lamb, otherwise great food , service and ambience.

Service was very friendly and despite running out of chicken wings, we chose something else which was equally as good. I had the Salt and Pepper Chicken and Brie Fritters, both of which were good sized portions, and both hot and tasty. My dad had the Prawn Cocktail and the Pate, he enjoyed both, although I thought the toast the pate came with was a bit overdone. We also had wine and coffee, again the drinks and service was good. The restaurant is a little dark, but you get used to it, however this might not bother some. Parking is available to the rear of the hotel and is free.

It's amazing to find a restaurant open on New Year's Day evening. Usually, my birthday tea is a takeaway, but this year after watching Wonka, we struct it lucky. No booking necessary.

Very nicely cooked steak! A little on the expensive side for some meals which could be reduced in price but all in all lovely. GF options for myself which was nice and it was cooked to my preferred rare.

Great place for a night out or just a beer after work! Darren always chatty and up for a laugh would hightly recommend

Absolutely fantastic service, we came for an overnight stay and to see Fusion, me + 3 friends, we were told it would be extremely busy however Darren went out of his way to get us a reserved table and the customer service was impeccable and will definitely be returning to try the food and another overnight stay :)

Le Winters never disappoints. Great food and service is excellent.

We called at Le Winters without a reservation but the staff accommodated us right away on a busy Friday evening. The service and the food was excellent. The menu was wide ranging and suited all tastes. The young waiters were so diligent and polite. We will definitely be back again.

I had my aunts 90th birthday celebrations there on 29th July 2023. There where about 21 of us including 4 children. The staff, the Manager and the food was exceptionally. The staff went above and beyond. One of best restaurants I have been to in a long time. The young staff and the pregnant lady were friendly, courteous and they went above and beyond for us. Definitely worth every penny we spend there. I can’t sing your praises enough. Thank you for a wonderful experience and thank you to your staff for making all my families day xxx

Just want to thank your chef for the tastiest, hottest and spiciest curry I had last night (2/6/23) even though it brought tears to my eyes I enjoyed it

The e glass at reception was streaker than god nos what man behind it grump then food which prices are up obviously with cost living but not putting air con on cldnt injoy ur meal the manager sitting at bar with her face tripping her young staff no clue served by middle age women who was so friendly and welcoming..... Place has went down hill BIG STYLE. 👎👎👎👎👎 😂😂😂Look the reviews now going to the dogs😂

Took my son for a meal for his birthday. The food was the best I have tasted in any hotel. And the service was great.

Place was dark and felt unwelcoming even though the staff were nice the ambiance is dour during the day. The food was ok.. nothing special and a little tasteless in part

Gave the food a low score because of the steak. I love my steaks, cook them over flame, in a hot pan, or under a grill. The steak I got was tough and low quality. It's not a good steak. The pepper sauce was great, chips and desert too. But the steak was a huge big 👎 The service was great. Very friendly.

Called in for the pensioners offer must be ordered before 6 no exceptions! Ordered fish goujons came with 2 under cooked fish 10 chips and 8 peas. Ice-cream £20. Supposed to be giving older people a bargain. Could of put it on a tea cup plate.

Was at the night time event. Found the uniforms were outdated and ill fitting. Understand this is a Hotel, but during the night its more a nightclub, so the attire should suit. Took a long time to get a drink 10-15 mins.

We found ourselves back home in Bangor at the same time...something that hadn't happened since we all left to follow our dreams. We had a family dinner together in LeWinters...and there were no complaints...we each had something different, possible because the menu is so varied! Great place, great service and great prices! Highly recommend!

Absolutely dreadful experience doesnt even deserve the star, ordered a burger I asked would it be garnished and Told it would be to receive a brioche bap a burger and lettuce no sauce or condiments, no other form of garnish for 15.95, to then be told by the manager that this is correct and it's the way it's stated on the menu althought the menu said lettuce and tomato I would of expected some sort of sauce or condiment as you would with any big standard burger, this very unprofessional manager seemed to want an argument instead of fixing the problem while I just wanted to have dinner with my daughter, used to be nice for for food absolutely disgusted to be told me having an issue with my burger was "not the way it works" this kid should not be a manger having worked in the catering industry myself, terrible food service was worse

Me and my granny and grandad went to LeWinters before we went to see a show in the Grand Opera House the food was not the best the service was ok and the atmosphere but there was other people sitting at another table making a lot of noise and they have really put up there prices would not recommend not posh puffey From Newtownards and Belfast's Celebrity Micah Alderdice

Great place if your going for dinner but there's no lunch items, sandwiches and or things like that available.

i had a horrible experience my food had a hair in it and nothing was done about the waiters hands where disgusting and fork and knives had old food on them never again

We had the best little Christmas party at Le Winters! We were made to feel so welcome and the food was delicious!! Every course was beautifully presented and the beef stood out as it was so tender. The manager went above and beyond to ensure our every wish was catered for - an absolute gem!

Was at a 60th birthday party on Saturday night,to say I was disappointed is an understatement, poor service and rude bar staff,could have been better organised for a party of 24 people,have eaten many times at le winters but this was a disappointing meal.

Had a nice family meal on a Sunday evening and the food was very good. Felt like it was a bit overpriced, but an enjoyable meal nonetheless. They had a bouncy castle set up for the kids to play on and gave us colouring in sheets and crayons to keep the kids occupied while we were waiting for our food.

Went for our anniversary dinner and was very disappointed. Manager greeted us but very loud and self assured, "ordered" a staff member to find us a table whilst he was inhe middle of doing something else. Starter was OK. We both ordered fish and chips as our main....chips were hard and greasy, fish was wafer thin inside greasy batter/crumb coating. Totally disgusting.....Will not be back

Nice staff comfortable and feel very safe during post pandemic opening.

Regulars at Le Winters love the food complements to the chef. We have all our celebrations here and are never disappointed. Darren is a 1st class manager who treats the staff with respect which is lovely to see. We would recommend Le Winters for all occasions.

Went for our family boxing day/ Anniversary dinner for 11 ppl, as usual busy with a good service food was absolutely fantastic loved by all not one complaint. we weren't rushed and the service from course to course was really good and as always the staff well these guys give up their Christmas so we can enjoy ours so 👏👏👏 excellent service Thank you. We had booked an Christmas Dinner here this month for a large party, as the night went on a drink was brought to the table that had floaters through the drink, we asked for a new drink and the owner who was very aggressive shouting and cursing said that we mixed it, which lead to an argument. Anyways long story short the abuse that was handed out by the owner was disgusting and when I phoned the next day to straighten out what happened I was told by the manager that I was lieing! After spending nearly £1000.00 in the place I will not be back and I to the owners thank you for the abusive conversation, all was needed was an apology but sadly no costumer service was provided. reading through the reviews I can see that costumer service is not the heart of this establishment. Will not be back.

Very welcoming staff as always. Food absolutely amazing. Catering for kids, on arrival gave my two grandkids crayons and pics to colour. Also interacted with them too. The strawberry ice cream kept them happy - thank you. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, thank you.

Took my wife here for her birthday dinner and so glad she chose LeWinters. From start to finish….absolutely superb food. Great choices, fantastic quality and quantity. The best roast beef dinner we’ve ever had in any restaurant that we have dined in. Staff attentive and polite, comfortable surroundings…just 1st class in every respect.

Just here on the day of restrictions easing on 24th May. Food was alright but the quantities have been reduced and for the price being charged for the meals being the same, the prices are unjustifiable. Dissapointed. Not to mention staff didn't handle the situation well one member of staff (a manager) showed clear favouritism towards one table and didn't serve any other. Dissapointed with my visit and won't be back any time soon.

Food is always 10/10, got a collection order today and it was ready at the time we selected and the food was still piping hot. Excellent service every time I’ve had food from Le Winters
