Levant Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

A hidden gem away just moments away from the busy streets of London, I visited this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion and it was perfect! The food is delicious and service is wonderful.

It's really beautiful to share the culture and traditions of other nations as in the end we are all human . But to take evrything moroccan and say it's middle eastern is a biiig no . This is cultural theft you who came to morocco multiple times and enjoyed your visit and our hospitality .should be embarrassed.

I am writing here after three visits and every time I say that the service today is better, but unfortunately it has gone from worse to worse. Al-Shawam is known for its warm reception, fast and elegant service, and cleanliness You do not have any of these people I'm sorry that I write like this. But I hope it will motivate you to improve your work

There website issues you bookings and yet the restaurant has closed months ago. Please don't book online with this restaurant.

CLOSED - Booked on line, received email confirmation. Turned up, restaurant firmly closed up. Phoned the number and picked up by their sister restaurant Kenza near Liverpool Street. Had a great night there but do not book at Levant!!

What an amazing evening celebrated for my Birthday, Thankyou to the Levant Staff and chefs. Very impressed with the atmosphere, dancers and food especially. Would recommend this venue for anyone with a group of friends looking to enter a food coma. Delicious, my buttons were bursting! Two Hours is definitely a good amount of time to eat and socialise.

Always love Levant! Such a great night of amazing food, great music and a beautiful ambiance! Highly recommend for vegetarians too, lots of yummy mezze options! My favourites are muhammarah, batata harrah, grilled halloumi and fattoush salad :) we go back so regularly!

Good food and a great atmosphere

Probably the best lamb shoulder I’ve ever had and that’s what pulls this review up the ranks,, The service is great , ambience is also great and generally starters were good despite being over priced... This place looses a star for their insane pricing on soft drinks and virgin cocktails which were appalling if I’m honest, abit of flavoured syrup ice and some mint leaves for £7 and it would be acceptable If it tasted good and there was enough to have a few sips ... Overall this place is good I would recommend visiting but i probably would go again for there muhamara lamb shoulder it’s says for 2 but can feed 3/4 easily

Hemos venido a Levante para el cumpleaños de uno de nuestros amigos por segundo año. . . Desafortunadamente, no será una tercera. No estoy seguro de si ha habido un cambio en la administración, pero el servicio fue terrible. Por ejemplo, compramos una botella de brandy por 150, imagino que un restaurante de moda en Mayfair serviría las batidoras en una bonita jarra / jarrón. . . . sin embargo, nos sirvieron 8 latas de coca cola como si tuviéramos una 9. 99 parrillada mixta en Hounslow Lahori Karahi! La comida no estaba caliente. . las alas, por ejemplo, salieron y 15 minutos después las ollas de salsa de ajo / salsa de chile. . el camarero no tenía idea y fue muy desagradable. 6 de nosotros 500 bill. . . me temo que una mala experiencia culinaria.

Beautiful atmosphere and great food

The good point atomsphere and friendly staff but food was small portion and not really tasty . Grill was to dry and rice wasn't cook . I paied 90£ . I didn't enjoy . To expensive for this food . 10£ for service not fair for this food . I wouldn't recommend . You can have better than and cheaper than in some where alse .

Overpriced restaurant, paid 60£ for 2 chicken taouk and tabouleh with standard quality. Only good point: the atmosphere and decor. You will find many Lebanese restaurant much better in London and cheaper.

I have been there on Fridays and saturdays mainly, the food is a must try, me and my friend went there for drinks first and then we realised they had good food and tried everything, the staff now knows us, they play good music sometimes but sometimes the DJ changes songs too often making it hard to keep dancing for a long time, love the atmosphere, the staff are great and the place is 110%.

Visitamos a mitad de semana, vacía abajo, así que tuvimos a las dos bailarinas del vientre prácticamente en nuestra propia mesa, lo cual fue una risa cuando nos unimos.En cuanto a la comida sólida. Tradicional libanés. La parrillada mixta es más que suficiente para dos, con sabrosas carnes bien marinadas. Todos los demás entrantes y platos principales estaban bien.Ambiente oscuro con mesas ligeramente inferiores a las habituales.Asegúrate de dirigirte a Jason Court (fuera de Wigmore Street) o nunca encontrarás la entrada. This place has been amazing when I've been previously but this time round it was disappointing. Went before the evening rush and the starters were great but the mains lacked a punch, the soft drink was flat too. Good but not great

Celebrated my birthday last Saturday here! Music so good with deferent backgrounds! Security was polite and professional! Food was lovely! Definitely will go back again!!

Still sitting here at the restaurant having ordered some baby chicken. Based on my experience as a cook, It was obvious that the chicken was off. I PASS my concern to the female waiter who served me . Her response was that she did want to argue with me but the chicken was fresh . I mention once again that it was off and she should inform the kitchen staff for health and safety reasons. .. I lost my appetite and feel like that the whole experience on dining in such a beautiful restaurant is ruined.

Tasty food, but terrible, rude service and extortionate prices

This place offers a good variety of very tasty, eastern food. The fattoush salad was one of the best I ate so far in London. All the dishes have been nicely prepared and decorated. The serving time was adequate and the staff nice. Prices are slightly expensive since the amount of food you get is less than expected. Apart from that, it is a great place to enjoy amazing food in a nice location.

The decor is beautiful! I think the menu is a bit limited and it seems a bit pricey, but nonetheless, the food was very tasty + filling. Very friendly staff. It's very nice to walk into, the back street would never allow you to assume something so beautiful is hidden inside. Literally like a cave of wonders!

Pedimos una colección de entrantes y todos fueron fantásticos. Una gran variedad de alimentos que combinados, te hacen sentir muy lleno y satisfecho (¡tan lleno que optamos por un delicioso té de menta rosa en lugar de postre!). Muy buen entretenimiento con bailarinas del vientre también. Probamos un par de cócteles que también eran muy sabrosos. Gran velada.

This place was buzzing after 9PM. Very impressed with the food. The chicken just came off the bone! A mixture of different songs were played which made the night very fun!

The only attraction is Belly Dancers. Food and service are forgettable. Pricey too given the area. There many good Lebanese restaurants in the area, try those.

Definitely overpriced,food is good Service can be improved The menu does not specified minimum 2 people only in some parts of the menu but they will give you a choice to order a la carte and menu minimum for 2 people according to them which I think is not acceptable if the menu doesn’t say minimum 2 people. We went there for the Christmas Party Dinner from work. I enjoyed there much everything: the ambience , food , service and the beautiful belly dancers .

Great restaurant with excellent atmosphere. Belly dancers and DJ providing entertainment. We went as a group and had the set menu. Food was tasty and plentiful. Staff are friendly and attentive. Would recommend a visit. Note the entrance to the restaurant is off Wigmore street opposite Costa coffee.

The interior of the place was stunning. The service was okay. However, the food was tasteless. It was not flavoursome at all. Tried my friends dishes and again, very tasteless. Drinks were good.

Terrible service. Poor communication, we are expected to get set menu for 3 people (they told us ONCE we gave a non refundable deposit. Apart from poor communication, trying to force us to get set menu - place is nice and food is nice. BIG shame about the service. You need to improve on your service. Been here 2 times now and it's always the same thing. Disappointment.

Bread was not fresh. Starters were frozen and bland. Meat was stale and not well spiced with soggy sides. Maybe they should pay more attention to the food rather than the naff decor.

Made a reservation at 9.30 pm for 4 people. By the phone they made me preorder the menus. Everything was overpriced. We were hoping to enjoy a nice, chill dinner with a Lebanese atmosphere. But the music at this place is way to loud, you can't have a conversation. And the selection of music is horrible. In the middle of the dinner 2 woman start dancing Samba. Food is OK, but I have tried other places with better quality and cheaper. Not a Lebanese experience. Very disappointed. I won't come back

I visited last night with my wife. We were very kind and polite with them, basically in a very nice mood. We were given a small lovely 2 seat table at the edge of the restaurant. 1. The hostess informed us that the Tagine was better than the tagines from Agadir in Morocco. We actually had visited a great little authentic place in a village outside of Agadir which was absolutely delicious, so although we were a little skeptical her confidence made us very excited and looking forward to ordering tagines. The waitress was very cheerful and friendly. 2. The menu was different to the menus which they have on both the Internet and their own website. Still, we ordered lamb tagine, and lamb shank (the fish tagine was not available). 3. LAMB TAGINE: absolutely disgusting. The 2 prunes and some almonds would suggest a certain flavour of dish, however the bland lamb (apart from the over peppering which choked and lingered in the throat) sitting in a puddle of water drowned everything away. It tasted like water was poured onto the dish moments before serving. 4. LAMB SHANK: this was half decent. over spiced though. The lentils in the dish were like an Indian dish, so if you want a middle eastern lamb shank mixed with lentils from an Indian restaurant then you may like. 5. We arrived at 7:30pm. At 8:40pm, after the waitress offered to bring over the deserts menu and while she was getting it, the waiter gave us our bill and shoved the card machine in my face. At that moment the restaurant was half full (or empty!), however he instructed us to pay as they apparently had a booking. It seemed that despite the restaurant having ample empty tables, they needed our small 2 seater table-which was beside 2 other (empty!) 2 seater tables. I informed him that the waitress is expecting us to order desert, yet he didn’t seem to care and just wanted us gone. Even though my wife was less than half way through finishing her drink. The waitress arrived with our deserts menu, which the waiter didn’t seem to care. * NOTE: They add a 12.5% service charge to the bill. This is optional for the customer, however they casually include it when punching in the bill amount in the machine. 6. We took our half finished drink to the bar as the waitress told us to have our desert and tea there. Sadly the whole bar area smells of the toilet which is nearby. So while we were deciding to sit away from the toilet, the hostess approached us and very rudely told us to quickly decide and sit down. I am so glad I decided to leave. Their bad service, terrible food, and smelly bar fortunately didn’t ruin our day. We continued our night in the west end laughing about this experience. Swearing to never eat there ever again. But skeptical and gobsmacked about some of Levant and Kenza’s (same restaurant, different name and location) positive reviews. Hope this review helps people to avoid wasting their money. Ps. £3.95 for a small glass of flat, watered down coke!

Food portions were very good! Went for a birthday and there were 7 of us so had set menus and there was belly dancing which was fun. For the price amazing 😊

Came here for a bday dinner, had a good meal, full to the brim! Easy to find, greeted really warmly - staff were really friendly and helpful, always had a smile on their face, happy to answer questions and suggest cocktails based on what we liked.Food was great and plentiful! Atmosphere was fun. I went on a Thursday evening, they have belly dancers every night, for approx 10 mins, was fun to watch, the ladies are gorgeous, but don't appear to be having loads of fun....I guess if you are doing that day in and day out then its not the best fun! Cocktails are good - London prices though, so the meal does add up in cost! Would I go back? Yes, Ive also recommended others to go there for a fun night with good food! I would like to go back on a Fri or Sat evening when they have a band definitely pre-book this place, I can foresee it getting very busy.

Amazing restaurant with great decorations. The food has been spectacular, we have eaten many dishes of Arabic, Lebanese and Moroccan influences, with intense and very tasty textures and flavors. Overated and boring food. Only the starters were worthy of the price. The belly dancers also felt annoying at time, as I was trying to eat and they kept trying to make me dance. Maybe im just a boring old grandad. But for £45 the food was not worthy.

Went to celebrate a birthday and this went from bad to worse.

Disappointed really, food was OK, but what made it worse was the lack of service at the front desk in particular. Lambshank was OK, but lacked flavour. Levant used to be one of the unique places around, but they now have stiff competition and haven't adapted. Decent enough atmosphere and still a good set up generally but given their prices you really need more. There really is no excuse for poor service at reception. I probably wouldn't go again.

Nice authentic place tucked away on Wigmore Street, food is delicious with a good selection to choose from for Vegetarians. I would say if you want the whole Middle Eastern atmosphere stick around for the belly dancers to arrive. Only issue i would say is we were given 2 hours to eat in the restaurant side on saturday night as they had another booking so we felt rushed but we had known about this before we arrived as someone called me to inform me, but if you wanted to spend more time you can move to the bar area and relax there but its not the same hence the reason for 4 stars.

Great restaurant with nice belly dancers

I went last Sunday to Levant. The atmosphere was good with a belly dancer. The food is average at best and the Batata Hara was not hot. The two Levant virgin cocktails priced at almost £10 each, was basically seven up with a dash of syrup filled 80% with ice, so after 3 sips the drink was empty. Mezza's for two plus two virgin cocktails cost £80.

Sono stata qui su consiglio di un amico e devo dire che merita. Il locale è molto curato, la musica in sottofondo fantastica e il cibo gustoso e abbondante. Alla fine ci hanno servito il té alla menta: buonissimo e digestivo! Resta in una vietata laterale, fuori dal mainstream ma vale la pena cerarlo!
