Nice hotel, good food, I mean breakfast, excellent location, friendly staff, I highly recommend

Croydon's location is perfect for fast trains from Gatwick to East Croydon, fast trains into the heart of London, and many destinations in the Southeast, such as Brighton, Eastbourne & Southampton. Keep in mind, if you're in a group of 3 or more, you can travel at a discounted rate, so don't buy single tickets. The Leonardo hotel feels like a hotel. Staff are friendly. I've stayed at this hotel serval times, even when it was called the Jury Inn. I think the buffet breakfast is a little pricey. I sometimes walk to the Premier Inn for breakfast. What I don't like is there's an £40 fee to check in early. I arrived at 12:15. If the rooms are free and clean, then why not let your guests check in early? There is a place where you can leave your luggage, but often you want to freshen up. I stayed in room 1112, and the air conditioning wasn't correctly. I was freezing the first night. On the 2nd night, I used the extra heater that was in the room. Trying to watch tv was a pain, as the back cover to the remote was missing, and you really had to press hard to use the tv remote.

Rasa did our check in and she was lovely, we arrived very late after 12am and she was so pleasant and professional. She also gave us a complimentary upgrade which was so nice!

Rude staff . Housekeeping comes in very early and tells you need To check out at 10am!! Also heater did not work in the hotel room. Would not stay here again.

Great location by east Croydon station but everyone I knew staying there had key card issues with their rooms. Breakfast was good but bathroom was a bit tired.

We’ve just had an excellent stay at the Croydon Leonardo, yes it’s a pain getting a train to Croydon but it’s a lot cheaper than a stay in central London. The rooms are very comfortable, we slept well, it quiet and dark. The breakfast is consistently good and the team are all very friendly. We’ll definitely stay again if we’re having a cheeky night out in London or if we’re on our way to Gatwick, the rooms and breakfast are so much better than the Premier Inn.

My new go-to hotel for Croydon! When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and was offered a free drink for the evening. I didn't catch the gentleman's name but his customer service was fantastic. The room was spacious and I love the London skyline wallpaper. The air con was easy to use and worked wonders on the humid day of my stay. Everything was clean, the staff were so polite and friendly that it put other nearby hotels to shame. Thank you Leonardo Hotel Croydon. Looking forward to staying here again soon

I stayed in one of the executive rooms which had a lovely view and a nice large warm bed. I was more glad to see that you can have a bath and shower as most hotels only have showers these days, so I was much appreciated by that and the service downstairs was absolutely phenomenal including their morning breakfast.

Michelle and Blaze in particular made my stay such a wonderful one that I cannot even imagine booking a different hotel when I come to stay in London. I honestly should say that most of the staff for the majority of the time that I was there was absolutely delightful from the kitchen. Staff welcoming me to breakfast every morning to the front and staff greeting me in the evenings as I would come back in from my excursions. I only had one experience with one particular staff member that was very rude to me and very dismissive of my concerns after an incident occurred within my room. However, later that evening I was able to voice my concerns to a more understanding member of management who rectified the situation. I do hope this member of staff receives some type of retraining, especially in the way of diversity and inclusion for the people that stay within the hotel as to not create a negative light on such a wonderful establishment.

Actually a good hotel. However, almost all the chairs in the breakfast room were stained and could be cleaned. There was a urine stain on the mattress, so you should use waterproof, washable covers. The towels were constantly changed, although we were environmentally conscious and wanted to use the towels several times so we didn't throw them on the floor.

The only issue was the couple next door (the room doors were linked and attached from one room to other and the other couple wouldn’t let u sleep with the sounds and literal shouting (sexual) noises and even after knowing on their door for about 100 times it was still the same till 5am in the morning. I would recommend hotel to please stop giving the rooms to propel which are attached and has a bypass from one room to another and if please give them the information that noises easily can be passed to other room. Apart from that the location and room long with the services was amazing. The cleaning staff is the best as they made sure the room is clean and as good as new by the time we are back and not even one thing (personal stuff) was touched and moved from one place to another. Overall good experience. 👍🏻👌🏻

It’s bad enough these days when patrons listen to their phones on full volume but then the restaurant manager/supervisor does it, instead of attending to customer and quite frankly just being a noise nuisance to those trying to converse or work it’s a sad day. That said. It’s mildly preferable to the gutter all snorting through his nose he is doing.

Arrived at midnight to book a room after an incredibly delayed flight, missed train connections, and a number of other mishaps, and the young man who runs the reception at night was a beam of light! Very grateful for his support, optimism and kindness❣️

Only good things about this hotel were that the rooms were a good size and the breakfast was good. We arrived at the hotel at 11pm and the staff at the desk were friendly but were trying to log into the system for ages which delayed us getting our room despite it already being very late at night. When we eventually got to go up to our room, we found that we had been given an accessible room which is great that they have this option for those that need it, but neither my partner nor I required this, so everything in the room such as the sink was low (not ideal for my partner who is over 6ft when trying to brush his teeth). A mere inconvenience however which we could get over. We found that the bed sheet did not cover the full mattress and there was no mattress protector which is concerning as I imagine 100+ people sleep on the bed each year. Also the pillow cases did not tuck around the pillows well so the pillows were exposed at times and we saw a big brown stain on one of them. In addition to this, the pillows were like thick cardboard and we both woke up with neck and upper back pain. The walls were very thin and so we could smell what the people in the room next door were smoking and we could also hear absolutely EVERYTHING they were doing all night (perhaps celebrating an anniversary…over and over and over again…). We could also hear a lot of their conversations. I had an exam the next morning and this was so far from ideal. The next morning, a member of staff came up to room at 11.20am to say we were late to check out (my partner was in the room whilst I was out taking my exam). My booking confirmation however showed that we had a 12pm checkout time. At this point, my partner had lost the will to even fight this and show them the confirmation. Hygiene and a good night’s sleep are the absolute minimum, and we just didn’t get this. In all honestly, I just want a refund and would not recommend staying here.

Absolutely fantastic!! The front of house staff were excellent particularly Brooke. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s immaculate. I’ll most certainly be back.

With a very clean room, qualified, kind and attentive staff and finally a more than generous breakfast, I had a wonderful stay in this hotel. I highly recommend!!!

Excellent service was provided. The hotel location is very convenient to the local station and my office. Plenty of restaurants and shops are at convenient walkable distance from the hotel. Reception staff was amazing.

If you want to feel like you're on a farm this is your hotel, they are filthier than flies and unpresentable. First night at the hotel and after being out all day we arrived at 10:30 p.m. looking forward to getting comfortable and taking a shower and a surprise! The room is not cleaned, the towels are not changed, the glasses are not changed, etc. It is almost 0:00 at night and we are still waiting for some sad clean towels, we can't even shower. Real disaster, it couldn't be more unpresentable. The worst thing is that we still have one night left in this hotel, we will see what surprises they have in store for us tomorrow

We were told that there is free parking, but the parking, as it turned out, was very far from the hotel, although it was said that it would be under the windows ((Not a bad quiet place, everything works, everywhere is clean.

Best locations and you won't be disappointed. I understood they did all remodeling and changed a new name to Leonardo. My room was clean and cosy. I danced and I loved it.

Try to order room service, phone kept on ringing. Phone reception, they said try again as they would go to make sure the call was answered. So tried again and once again the phone just kept ringing. So I just hung up and didn’t bother.

My husband and I went on a cycling trip to the alps and stayed here before and after flying from/to Gatwick Airport. The location is extremely convenient if you’re catching an early flight from London Gatwick or if you’re arriving late and need to get some rest before finishing your journey back home! The hotel is walking distance from East Croydon station and it’s just one short train ride from Gatwick Airport! The staff is not only friendly but also extremely professional and competent, providing us with the best treatment and being so welcoming! It really does feel like home away from home! 😊 The rooms are well maintained, the restaurant and foyer are beautifully decorated and the overall appearance of this hotel is just lovely - modern, casual and cheerful, just how we like it! The Food and Beverage breakfast team did an amazing job and we had a lovely breakfast! The housekeepers who serviced our rooms (we stayed here before and after our trip) did an excellent job, the rooms were really clean and well looked-after. ✨ Last, but not least, a huge thank you to the reception team for being so welcoming and friendly! A big shout out to Brooke, Nicky, Kieron, San and Sarah and everyone else who made our stays here extra special! We had the best experience! 🥰 We are looking forward to returning here soon! 🤍

Lovely place to spend a few nights in. Our room had the wallpaper of the London skyline and I loved the colours! Hotel was close to the train station and breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly too. My only complaint would be the lobby… every night we hangout there as it was close to their restaurant but there was always someone smoking by the entrance. I’m not sure if there is a no smoking sign near the entrance door but they should monitor it more as the smoke goes into the lobby which can be uncomfortable for some people.

Kenny and Sarah have been amazing. Kenny makes the best cappuccino and Sarah makes you welcome as soon as you walk in. Housekeeping is also amazing. The rooms are very clean and comfy. I appreciated the different pillow selection on the bed, soft, firm etc. English breakfast also looked very good but i opted for Kennys coffee and biscuits! Thank you for a warm stay.

We absolutely love the treat we received upon check-in. Also, the complimentary drink tickets were the highlight our stay. We weren't expecting anything except our room and it's accessories so thanks a million for that experience. The staff were so great and friendly and accommodating. The bartender was very knowledgeable. He taught us a lot about spirits...that was fun! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Based on a recent stay at Leonardo Hotels in Manchester, I already knew they do not provide flannels and since I forgot to pack flannels for this stay in Croydon...I had to pop into Primark (still an inconvenience for me). Also I was disappointed to know that they didn't provide hot chocolate so that's another item I will have to pack when staying at the Leonardo Hotels. All in all, I enjoy staying at the Leonardo Hotels and I look forward to many more stays in different cities.

If you want to waste money and sleep, then the Leonardo is a good choice. Regarding a 4 star hotel, I nearly never seen that, from the quality of the room to the employees. The girl at the reception was so unpleasant that we was planned to stay 2 nights and we just change hotel because we was feeling really not welcome at all. We travel a lot and spend between 15 to 20 days a month in hotels, and we never seen such an unpleasant person at a front desk. Rooms was not very clean, towels had holes on it (when it’s too old, just change it), heater was not working in a room, and the front desk was so annoyed by the request… We can hear everything in the corridor, or even in the room next door. This hotel just deserve to close, or be retrograded as a 2 star, then it would be quite ok, but for half the rate. Just stay away from this hotel. There is nothing good here, maybe except the bed…

In the morning while i was sleeping, the staff knocked then continued to unlock the door and tried to walk in...it caught me by surprise and frightened me a lil bit. As i was trying to get dressed,i had to jump back in the bed AC doesnt work, 3 of my mates room were the same AC not working. Dirty carpet here and there, the yellow light does hide it a lil bit
