LEON - Farringdon in Islington

Never been to a Leon restaurant before – and will never go again! The girl behind the counter was beyond disinterested and didn't even have the most basic customer service instinct. I tried to ask how the ordering works, whether there was a menu I could look at, or...It wasn't clear, because the digital displays above the serving counter were on a rotation, showing different meals. I merely wanted to get an idea of what was on offer. She looked at me like I had just arrived from Mars and just pointed at the menu that was on the counter. I had a look, chose a chicken and rice dish and placed my order. At least I think I did, as the girl didn't make any eye contact with me and shouted something to someone standing behind me. Turns out there was someone waiting for their food, so they came to the counter to pick it up. I then turned back at the girl and she was staring at me and asked "and?"... After a second or so of hesitation I repeated that I'd like the chicken dish. To which she rolled her eyes and said "yes, and anything else"? At this point I thought her rudeness was amusing, so I smiled to myself and asked for a can of coke. She then pointed at the card machine infront of me. I paid and by the time I had put the card back in my wallet the food was infront of me – great stuff. At least it was quick! There didn't seem to be any utensils, though, so as I was putting my wallet back in my pocket I asked whether I could get a fork. The girl, wrapping something up, didn't look up nor say anything, but merely pointed to a spot somewhere behind me. Turns out they keep the wooden cutlery next to the door. Once I sat down and opened the box, it was clear that the food had been sitting under the heated lights for a long time. It was soggy and stuck in the paper placed inside the box. The taste wasn't great either. Had the food been freshly prepared, it might have been ok. But the rudeness and utter inability of the staff to perform even the most basic of customer service functions was a joke. Please, Leon. Train your staff.

1 star experience. Dry cold and nothing like the picture. Staff are rude and food is sitting there under heaters which isn’t very fresh. My friend is always complaining about Leon so I thought I would try it. Was supposed to be a hot box chicken aioli. Barely any aioli and 4-5 pomegranates when the picture is covered in them. The rice was hard like grain. Would not recommend going here and especially not the ‘rice’ hot boxes. I wish I had of got a picture of my meal as it was horrible I threw it in the bin.

Only just reopened and can't even get the order right. it was a quiet lunchtime, I ordered a chilli chicken rice box and a diet coke. Got back to the office and they given me aoli chicken which was bland and luke warm. The diet coke was a rip off £1.70 as well! Won't be returning as plenty of other great eateries in the area. made sure all my office are aware to avoid.

Recently spent a bit of time working out of my companies London office and LEON is a fan favourite with a lot of the office. I opted for the vegan burger and it was outstanding. Not the cheapest fast food burger but I’m a cheap northerner so don’t listen to me. Very tastey! Had it in my hand about ten seconds after ordering it as well so it’s really efficient service come dinner time.

A long wait for a soggy muffin and a cold cup of coffee! Every time I've been in here the food is super quick and then they mess up my coffee order. Not impressed...

Making our way to Farringdon Station each morning we passed Leon numerous times but the times they opened didn't suit us at the weekend so, on a Monday morning we gave it a go and were pleasantly surprised. There is plenty on offer from a full breakfast in a tub to porridge and both are a welcome change to the usual fayre on offer elsewhere. The coffee and tea are also acceptable. For anyone who is pressed for time these places are a godsend. No frills,the food is paid for in advance and is an acceptable quality. You can be fed and watered in no time and on your way to start your day. We would have no hesitation in going back again.

We have stopped for curiosity, but I glad we did the vegan love burger is delicious and hummus and baked chips are amazing, the highlight for me was gluten free bun. Service is excellent I highly recommend place

If you want a quick ready meal bite with a good variety cone to this place it’s quick ticks the box and the quality was good .

I stopped by for a quick meal hoping that one of the rice concoctions would appeal to me. But I had a poor experience with one of their curries, which didn't have any sauce, so went with the chicken burger. Best burger in a long time. The chicken was very juicy, the bun was fresh and a nice garlic mayonnaise sauce, sloppy the way I prefer. The fries were warmish, not quite cool, and not so appealing. But the burger was worth the £6 it cost, total £8.40 I like the jugs of water and mint and lemon that is available, as I prefer this with fast food over sugar drinks. Puzzlingly, it's £2 cheaper to carry out, despite eating on a paper bag in the restaurant.

A good place to stop for breakfast on the go. They even have a “full English” in a cup! We had breakfast buns. Be careful when you bite into that egg, it’s soft fried! Very good but can be messy if you’re not prepared

Although the server looked stunnd when i smiled and thanked her, and another was just a bit surly, the food here is fabulous. I stopped in for dinner the first night and had the mezze platter, which was super. Love the kale! Next day coming back from a conference i ran in for a late lunch/ early dinner, and had the chicken satay box w a side of their amazing hummus. Really good. The satay was perfectly spiced! Decor is nothing to brag about but it is clean, healthy and relatively cheap so i am not complaining. Much.

I ordered a salmon muffin and latte for breakfast, it was completely cold and I'm not sure if it had been sitting for a while as this was around 8:00 in the morning so they were pretty busy unless I'm the only person that eats these for breakfast. The salmon had lots of the fat grey layers around the edges as well, I know they are safe to eat but it personally makes me feel a bit sick to swallow these so overall it was a terrible experience.

Usually I don’t enjoy a lot the food in London. Was looking for a quick meal that would go with my healthy diet and i found leon. I tried only the kale ceasars salad and it was great. I am sure that am going to visit this place more often. Prices are very reasonable.

León is my wife's favourite quick food restaurant. This Leon is very clean and tidy, the service we received today was great and the food as usual very good. I usually have the green Thai curry, which is lovely.

First time visiting a Leon, was very pleasantly surprised! All the food on the menu looked delicious, and fairly well priced. Good pace during a busy period of the day and friendly staff

Healthy, tasty eats, quickly served in a pretty crowded place. The good side is that the turnover is quick and getting a seat is not a problem.

This was a life saver. Leon serves good fast food late into the evening when a lot of other places had closed. A few moments wait for healthy veggie or meat lovers wraps and chips. Really tasty food.

Went for a quick bite. Ordered the Thai chicken green curry. Sadly, there was hardly any chicken at all in the dish which was essentially all rice. Fairly tasteless. Very disappointing and poor value for money. Won't be going again.

The service was fast, very efficient although a little impatient as I didn't know what I wanted immediately. There are so many choices, it's hard to decide. Aside from that a good option for lunch. I would recommend the black bean - very tasty!!

Good opportunity to have fast lunch, but not fast food :). Queueing is okay, in line with standard waiting time at Farringdon restaurants. Good choice of wraps and salads.

Popped in here when i was in the area for a meeting and nice and different for a change. Had a chicken tagine with rice in a box, and all was very nice and hot etc, just enough for a bit for lunch. Nice service...

Friendly staff, fresh wholesome food, well priced. The only problem is that you HAVE to take away. The balance on the sound system thuds like your next door but one neighbours having a great party.

Good coffee, great breakfasts, and it's even healthy. I'm sorry to say, I've become a bit of a regular. Walk the extra few paces past Starbucks and ignore the people queuing out of the door - they're quick once you're inside.

I love Leon's brownies- delicious orangey taste and wonderful with their hot chocolates. Good selection of other foods too with a nice area to dine in

Had a quick coffee and sausage muffin here and was quite impressed. Not sure what I was expecting but what I had was probably better than the equivalent at say McDonalds

The manager was charming and helpful however the food was dull and bland. Despite the place being very noisy with a lunchtime crowd there was very oppressive piped music with a distorted bass. Altogether an uncomfortable experience with a disappointing meal.
