Lemongrass is my new favourite place to go for good freshly made Thai food. We visited the place on Thursday night and place was quite busy. We had a lovely starters , prawn toast and veg spring rolls followed by Sweet and sour chicken and Thai Green curry with chicken with egg rice which I had 3 times this week:) It’s great place to eat or simply just call on the way back from work and food will be waiting for your:) We will definitely come back to dine in:)

We had the Massaman Lamb curry and the Chef's Special, Duck Paradise plus Seasonal Vegetables. Can thoroughly recommend all three. Excellent meals and very good service. We'll be back!!

Really great food and excellent service. Very reasonable prices too. All eight of us really enjoyed our meals. The tempura prawn starter and green curry I had were perfect.

Virtually empty and only one member of staff on duty. The service was dire at best but mainly just embarrassing. The food was good however but I can't think that more people would come if the service was better.

Stayed in an airbnb nearby and decided to have a take away from Lemongrass. The 10% discount was nice but the food was quite disappointing. Too salty, greasy and with no recognisable flavours one would expect from Thai food. Not a dog friendly place either.

Ate here last night and was disappointed. Eat at a lot of Thai restaraunts and usually leave satisfied. Ordered vegetable Pad Thai and Beef Gra Pao. The Pad Thai was very good, lovely big chunks of fresh vegetables and a deep, tasty tamarind sauce. The beef in the Gra Pao was really tender, but the dish had been made with Thai sweet basil and not Holy basil so tasted nothing like a Gra Pao, and was actually a little weird. Was going to make a comment, and ask someone, but staff weren't to be seen and nobody came to ask if I was enjoying the meal. Was starving and didn't want it to go cold so ate it - then sat there for 10 min thinking someone may come and clear the plates and offer dessert. Nobody came and so ended up going to the bar to pay the bill - which came with an added 10% "optional" service charge added. When I asked for this to be removed I got a blank look, as I did when I complained the Gra Pao had the wrong basil in it - the guy argued it was holy basil. Can see lots of good reviews so may have picked the wrong dish - although it is probably the most authentic Thai dish we can get in the UK and really should be made right. Also to note it's quite expensive compare other good Thai places but a bit of a captive market in this small village. Wouldn't recommend personally unless you are stuck here.

It’s the 5th time we have visited Lemongrass in Cranleigh. The restaurant was busy and Sam was an excellent host . We were celebrating our 4 year anniversary and Sam and his staff wanted to do everything to make our evening special. We enjoyed some Prawn Tempura, with some lovely light batter and a Chicken Satay. Followed by a King Prawn Pad Thai and King Prawns in Oyster sauce with veg. The king prawns were large, sweet and juicy. The banana fritters were light and crisp accompanied with a delicious serving of vanilla ice cream and a large brandy! I couldn’t recommend Lemongrass enough, the atmosphere was lively for a weekday evening. The beers cold and the service was attentive and friendly. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Save yourself the time of reading to the end of this review and just go to Lemongrass...you won't regret it. Although this was my first visit today, I will definitely be back. The food was excellent with a menu of the classics as well as many unique dishes. Presentation was excellent and all the portions were large. Sam and the team were all excellent with their customer service and friendliness and were more than happy to alter the spice levels of a dish that I adore but it normally a little too much for me. Outstanding.

Love this restaurant- the food is always absolutely spot on and so delicious. Every single dish we have had and we have been here many times. We were a table of 10 last Night for my other half’s birthday and when bringing the cake out they sang and even played a guitar! The service can sometimes be a little slow but other than that it really is the best restaurant in Cranleigh id say!

Our food was scrummy, just shame about the slow service! We visited on a Saturday night they weren’t too busy but the service was very slow. I think this was due to the kitchen rather than the serving staffs fault.Everything we ate was very nice and I would recommend trying the vegetarian sharing platter. Overall a nice meal and we are likely to visit again.

We have used lemongrass many times over the years but hadn't had one for a few months and decided to have one tonight. On arrival to collect the takeaway the price was higher than we had worked out even with their 10% collection discount. We took the receipt home and a new menu and compared the prices to see where we may have gone wrong . We hadn't they have charged us more on every item than what the menu said (photo attached ) .None of the prices make any sense they are just random amounts one should be £6.50 yet we were charged £7.95. The food had also changed for the worse , no chillies in the fried squid dish , no spice in the pad prik and very bland tasting as if some soya sauce had just been chucked onto it and tasted as if it was not cooked properly. The pannag also was smaller than it used to be with hardly any chicken.

Visited with some friends to “enjoy” a pleasant evening meal in convivial surroundings, only to be confronted by a screaming group of out of control children in a family group!The place is ok but acoustics make it very difficult to have a relaxed conversation and hear and be heard.Service is ok at the beginning but becomes pedestrian even “reverse” by the time coffee is ordered and delivered.The food is ok but nothing special that you can’t find at other Thais.Value for money it isn’t ....£33 per head for something you could make at home for less than £10 incl drink .Tried, tested but not endorsed .

we went here with my son who is a vegetarian and to be honest, the veggie options were very good and if I had known I might have had the same.as it was I had a nice prawn dish and my wife had duck both of which were very good.very reasonable price and a nice ambiance and staff.

We were trading at the Wings & Wheels event at Dunsfold so we googled nearby restaurants to go to for our evening meal, we love thai food so when Lemongrass came up we were pleased. We just turned up and thankfully got a table easily as it was quiet.The food is superb! We ordered the Mixed Platter starter followed by a prawn stir fry dish and a sea bass dish.All were flavoursome and very tasty, presented beautifully too.Our waiter was certainly a character too. A very enjoyable evening. We enjoyed the food that much we went back the next evening (Saturday) it was a lot busier and this definitely took its toll on the staff. We were fortunate enough to receive good service and food however we did notice a few other tables seemed to be waiting a very long time to be served. Overall our experience was very positive just a shame its so far from where we live (Manchester)

Visited on 7th June with friends. Were shown to our table and promptly left there unattended for at least 45mins before even receiving a menu. We choice the set meals. The staff didn't understand our questions about the food. Ordered a glass of wine and received the whole bottle. A long wait till food arrived and the quality was very poor. This was not authentic Thai food, and the quality was poor. Tasted more like Chinese takeaway food.

I visited the Cranleigh Lemongrass in May with a group of friends. The service was friendly and the food (we ate) was superb - 100% delicious!

Given the Thai restaurants in Godalming and Compton have now closed I was really looking forward to this outing but despite being in the restaurant from 7pm, by 8.45 the two of us had sadly still not received our main courses ......

After a truly awful experience in another restaurant in the town (see another review) I found this gem. Even on a Wednesday it was quite busy. Very attentive, understated service. No Chang beer, but offered a large Tiger beer instead, even though this wasn’t on the menu. Tasty Chicken Satay to start(pictured) which came with a pleasant white dressing as well as a peanut and a spicy sauce. The coriander was a nice touch. Then onto prawn pad Thai, succulent prawns, everything well cooked with a hint of ginger (also pictured). It feels to be family run, even if it isn’t. Deserves to succeed.

We popped in for an evening meal not knowing what to expect as we don’t live in the area. The staff were very friendly, service excellent and food very good. It was a very enjoyable meal and would recommend Lemongrass to anyone passing their front door. The only thing to note is that it’s the opposite end of the High Street to what is shown on the map on TripAdvisor.

Came here for dinner with the wife, what a fantastic place to eat, the food was delicious and hot, the staff were super friendly and very attentive, my wife is vegan and was very very happy with the choices, we will be returning 100%

Having read some of the recent reviews we weren’t sure what to expect on a Friday evening. We weren’t disappointed. The service was very good - attentive, without being over the top. We both had three courses and my husband preferred my choices on each! Not the best Thai food that we’ve ever had but it was tasty and reasonably priced. Good to know that it’s on our doorstep!

Not a good experience all round. Went for collection and waited nearly an hour for our food. It wasn’t just the takeaway that was suffering. Heard a customer politely complaining that he and his party had been there for 45 minutes and hadn’t even been able to make a drink order. Feels really chaotic and poorly run. Front of house did give us one free bottle of beer to make up for it (which is a strange gift as we don’t drink and there were two of us).

Last Monday 18th March myself and my husband decided to go to the Lemongrass for dinner as a late birthday treat for me. The waiter behind the bar/reception (which is located immediately inside the door)did not even look up to greet me. He had his head bent down and seemed to be processing some paperwork. I stood waiting for him to acknowledge my presence and when I felt so uncomfortable being blatantly ignored, I said "Excuse me, could I have a table for two". With his head still bent down he barked "WAIT" at me! I was so taken aback I replied "Oh would you like me to take my custom elsewhere as you are so busy?" to which he replied "YES GO GO". I now wanted to make a formal complaint so I asked to speak to the manager.He said there was no manager and kept telling me to "GO GO" so I asked him for his own name. He refused to give me his name and turned away to serve the only table of 6. He then suddenly turned back to be and said "I KNOW you YOU live in Cranleigh". Immediately I felt very threatened and so I left knowing we were going to take this further. To that end I put a letter through the door of the restaurant and sent an email with the letter attached giving the manager/owner 48 hours to explain why we were treated this way otherwise I would post it on Tripadvisor/Nextdoor Networking (2,300 members) and Cranleigh Community Board. Needless to say I have had no response. I pass by this restaurant many times and have never seen it full. I wonder why?

Hi i took my family to the lemongrass for a celebration meal out. We ordered set menu A . The starter arrived but the prawn toast was raw and cold, which i raised with the staff who quickly supplied newly cooked prawn toasts- no problem.

Very busy Saturday evening, staff were run off their feet but coped well.
