Wow just ordered a roast from here it was the best roast I've ever had . waited a while for delivery but it is Sunday and they must get busy amazing

The Cheese and Bacon smash burger was the best burger that I've had in a long time! Tonight was my first time ordering from here and I loved the food. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

Ordered from here twice now ans omg the food is amazing, if u like chilli con carne or roast dinners this place is for u, the beef in all dishes was cooked beautifully. The lady that delivered was also really friendly, really nice and helpful 5* recommended

Beautiful BEAUTIFUL food no other overpriced fast food chain can top. Fresh ingredients, ACTUALLY WARM FOOD, a good variety of different burgers, ROASY DINNERS??? banging. This food gives me life and I don’t think I’ll ever experience something as good as this ever again. 10/10.

Good food Shame about the service, had ordered previously and waited far longer than you would expect but the food kind of made up for it. Ordered a second time, hour and a half before it turned up (after phoning asking how long it would be ) only for the order to be missing a dish, then for the remaining order to turn up 40 minutes later stone cold. A half arsed apology and walking away at a customers door maybe in shame or the fact they couldn’t really give a toss…

The quality of the food is second to none. The burgers are the best in the UK and it's so fresh! The kebabs are just brilliant. The bread is filled with flavours your mouth won't be expecting. The chef really finds a way to bring out the best in his food and it's well worth a trip to pick some up!! But don't forget the halloumi fries! Just amazing! If service is your thing, legend deli has it in abundance, always greeted with a smile and nothing is too much effort! Thanks for the hard work guys, I can taste it :) If it's a Sunday. Don't do the work yourself, get a roast delivered by these guys!!! Honest to god it's just amazing and I was so hungover I couldn't be bothered, turns up ready and you just have to fill your pie hole with this magic

I ordered food for collection through their app which is great and easy to use (with the bonus of 10% off your first order 👍🏻). I had a very short wait when I arrived to collect, as the food was still being prepared. Which was great as it meant my food was fresh and hot. The lady who served me was lovely. We had one of their family sharing platters which was utterly delicious🤤. An all-round great experience from ordering to eating. I look forward to eating from here again.

Great food delivered piping hot, best fries I've had for a long time, MASSIVE portions, great sauces, spot on jollof with peas (black beans) and all cooked to perfection. I struggle to find take aways who offer non meat proteins besides cheese, so it's great that they have a really good soya chaap option for the gyros and jollof boxes too, which works perfectly. Can't recommend enough 👌

Ordered two Jollof Rice n pea boxes with southern fried chicken and was very disappointed to find that the rice was not Jollof Rice at all. It was plain boiled rice with beans, absolutely no flavour whatsoever which should not be the case with Jollof style rice, it should be full of flavour and spice. I’ve had Jollof many times. The chicken was ok, nothing special.. it didn’t have much flavour. The description also said the dish is served with fried onions and tomatoes.. they were not fried. Unfortunately I don’t like beans so couldn’t eat the rice as there was so many of them that it was impossible to eat around/pick them out. My partner contacted the restaurant to query if this was indeed ‘Jollof rice’ that we have been sent and was told that it is Jollof rice and in the Caribbean they call beans ‘peas’… I’m leaving a review as I think they should edit their menu to give a better and more clear description… that this is not the traditional African Jollof but there own version… which unfortunately is definitely not great at all and ‘pea’ is infact beans, not green peas like you would naturally assume.Gave two stars as delivery was quick, but due to not eating much of the meal I’ve had to order from somewhere else. I ordered a roast from here a few weeks ago and the meat was lovely but unfortunately I didn’t get the extra veg I paid for.. I didn’t bother to call about it as know sometimes things are missed and it was probably a one-off but after this meal I can say that I won’t be ordering from here again.

Their sunday roasts are just like your nans 11/10 totally banging, unless you were very unlucky and yours didn't know how to cook haha. The staff here are also very nice, helpful and really polite too. Definitely the best place in town to eat. Thank you.

Ordered today for first time I ordered at 2 and my eta was 6/7 as busy but can fully see why ordered the platter and a kids meal got plenty left over only bad thing I could say if I was being picky potato's seem like were pre cooked skin was a bit rubbery but they were still good but that is just being picky will definitely be going back superb food

Legend Deli is always a great shout for a takeaway over the weekend. I managed to have a takeaway on Saturday and mothers day roast on Sunday! Both were perfect the pesto lance burgers were delicious and the gyros was succulent. Then the roast on Sunday was simply immense the mums were overjoyed! Always recommend and you never disappoint! Thanks guys!

1st time with the roast dinners,nice and hot the beef was the best then chicken ,pork last, potatoes and Yorkshire puds knockout the gravy was great ( bit thicker next time ). Quality food and service.

Ordered a day in advance for delivery at 7.30pm the next night. Courtesy call received at 7.35 to say they had been inundated with orders and that they were running a bit behind. Fine. Phoned restaurant at 20.50 to ask for an update and was told 20-30 mins tops. Food did not arrive until nearly 10pm. Quality was good and food was hot but it was NOT worth that kind of wait. If the orders came in in the afternoon either they were put ahead of our order from the previous night or they were delivering peoples dinners into the early hours of the morning. All in all, very disappointed. I doubt very much we will order here again.

We had a roast delivered and it was amazing. First of all it was bang on time,piping hot and there was so much of it . So happy with it .

Omg...a diamond in the rough. The food is amazing, I recommend the slow cooked lamb. It's a small place tucked away a bit ...not to be missed. It doesn't look great from outside , but give it a go not to be missed

Visited as they opened Saturday, with visiting family for Brunch. Was not disappointed, another table was served before us and we were apologised to, however, we were having sausages ! and to get a decent sausage cooked fresh! the short wait was understandable. Good choice of menu, which was previously accessed online before we decided to try. We were happy with our visit, food and service, and it seems like a place that would get very busy at times.

Food was over priced and the owner and his partner were very rude seemed like a chore to serve us The owner is very intimidating will not be back !!!!! Get some manners

Amazing place I've been recommended by multiple people. Gf is vegan so it can be tricky to find a place for us to both confortably eat and also have good, tasty food. Vegan menu is very detailed and unique and with a good few choices. The regular menu even more so, I ordered the buttermilk chicken strips and some cheese and bacon croquettes. The breadcrumb of the chicken was such a unique and great taste. Gave me a flavour trip of nastalgia, still can't think where I have tasted it before. Very satisfying and the portion sizes were fantastic. I highly recommend this place, the staff were friendly and even wrapped my leftovers up as I wanted to take it home!

The service is terrible. Pop in the store and staff rudely told that we had to wait half hour for our food because there were very busy. I looked around and found there were few customers sitting on the table and some of them obviously finished their food. We decided to left the restaurant with smile.

Great food always excellent. The portions size will leave your eyes popping out when they bring the food to table. Not the biggest place to eat inside, but they do also have outdoor seating area. Staff are friendly and helpful, however they do seem slightly understaffed. This however didn't diminish our visit to this lovely hidden gem in Southend.

I gave an honest review on TripAdvisor June 7th 2018 stating that on our recent revisit the 'vegan' food was not up to the standard as we had tasted previously. The owner responded with an over the top aggressive response and shows he did not read my review accurately. The Owner states that my review was 'Malicious'/Obstinate/Awkward' that I lied by stating that after eating the chicken salad which was really nice at the start afterwards I honestly had just a greasy taste in my mouth. My friend ordered a vegan satay burger ( i accidentally called it cajun in my review) which was sent back as it was not edible absolute no taste and very very greasy . The owner states that 1 star should not be given for the apparent ' free food ' a inedible burger that had one bite from it!! that is not free food ,if the burger was inedible then it was not free food ? We did not pay for the burger ( we were offered replacement food but why when the first was indelible)? . The waitress told us that the chef /herself and another staff had tasted the returned 'vegan' burger and the only explanation they could give was that the chef had been cooking a lot that day and the oil could not be changed ' mid serving' and hence the greasy taste. We paid for the chicken salad and 2 waters which if I recall correctly was about £13.20 AND we tipped the waitress £2.50 BUT the owner states we did not pay for any of our food, its worth noting this place only takes cash so no proof that we ate here. We tipped the waitress as we felt sorry for her as she stated after our arrival she took sometime to serve us as she ' she wanted to leave a space between the last order as she had given the chef 7 orders in one go and he was a bit frustrated she did not make clear if it was the same day or a previous day but thanked us for our patience. It was lunch time and the place had 3-4 people outside and 2-3 people inside. Our previous visit we all (4 of us ) had vegan burgers tempeh and jackfruit cooked by a female chef the food was tasty and the waitress very nice. If a customer after a genuine review is insulated by the owner then this is not a good establishment. Its also worth noting surprisingly a few days later 5 star reviews appears which states ''Reading through Sara C's review and can only assume she's got the place mixed up with somewhere else as the description she gives isn't a bit like how we found it or she's has an ulterior motive. Just look at all the other reviews'' Its quite obvious that this is staged review as I have never seen another TripAdvisor reviewer making a personal accusation stating another review 'has ulterior motives'. As a restaurant owner you may not like some reviews BUT you do not accuse your customers of lying and being ''internally awkward and obstinate'' !!! calling their review malicious. You as a professional owner of an establishment should take on board what the customer says ( yes in some instances of customer service the customer is not always right and people can be very picky and over the top in any complaint) BUT this is not me or my colleague. When you review your customer comments ' be honest with yourself and make changes where you can or just admit your food on this occasion was NOT up to the previous standard... .its that simple really. This owner seems to display anger issues and very unprofessional over the top bully in his approach to true comments about the food he cooked and served on a particular occasion that unfortunately was in no way edible and not up to the previous standard of vegan food that we had tasted. don't you think we feel disappointed? traveling from London, deciding to revisit your establishment have an unfortunate experience with your food, give an honest review, and then to read such an aggressive and accusatory response.

Legend Deli's fairly generous vegan menu was a pleasant surprise, but their inclusive food options was unfortunately the only good thing about the place. They're clearly understaffed, serve overpriced, mediocre to bad food, in a not very flattering environment. We tried the Turkish Tempeh Halep and Satay Tempeh Burger, and got a decent sauce with tempeh bits in it, and a 'burger' made out of a hash brown and a very dry puck of too fried tempeh, served between two pieces of dry, crusty, bread. The only thing that's saving this review from a single star is the hard-working waiter that served us.

We have been meaning to go here for sometime now, after seeing all the positive reviews online. We went on Saturday at 12:30 and had a table booked, which turns out was a smart move! Even with outside seating people were turned away because the place was full! I had a special jerk chicken burger and the misses a saltbeef bap thing, plus we split a side of prawn & battered pork belly. The food was great and the service friendly but not overly familiar. For the food you get (freshly prepared) the price is more than fair. Pros - Good food - Good price - nice staff - independent local business Cons - small establishment (not an issue if you book like we did)
