Since moving to the area we've been spoilt for choice with such a great selection of pubs, had a great meal and the service was top notch

Had one of the best Sunday Roasts in a very long time, great service, fab location and a really lovely meal. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later, thank you x

Garden room celebration , we booked the newly renovated garden room for my sister’s 70th birthday celebration, she traveled from the Cotswold area with her husband and was joined by our Essex/Suffolk family to enjoy a memorable afternoon, Angie and her team were attentive and friendly nothing was to much trouble, my brother in law was very impressed, he and my sister are world wide experience travellers, he and the family had a great time many thanks leather bottle team

Sadly after 8km walk with dog, we arrived at 1.20pm and was told there was already a 20 min wate BEFORE orders would be processed and thete were no spare menus at that point anyway. I was really looking forward to a nice lunch there but not to be. Had a cheeky pint with me dog and left to eat elsewhere. I suspect reputation has ramped demand past ability to service customers which is a real shame as area great for walks and its a dog friendly gaff. Nevermind

We went for lunch as a group of 5. The menu quite varied and service was great . All of us had starters, main courses and desserts. Each of us had great meals, it's not very often you can say that, there's usually at least one person that one of their courses wasn't up to par but not in the case lunch today at The Leather Bottle. We will definitely return.

Visited with a colleague for lunch earlier this month. I asked for a plain chicken fillet burger with nothing on it. It was absolutely delicious and juicy. Fries were great and the service and surroundings amazing. Love this place and will be visiting again soon. Thanks…

This is a lovely, cozy pub tucked away in the Essex countryside. This was maybe the sixth time I've eaten here and the food, drink and atmosphere has been excellent every single time. The last couple of times I had the pork belly so this time I told myself to try something new. As it happens the pork belly wasn't even on the menu. One item jumped out at me though. I love ribs. I love Southern Fried chicken. I love Cajun fries. I love onion rings and I love coleslaw. And there they all were in one dish! The ribs were tender in a rich bbq sauce, the chicken was moist in the middle and crunchy on the outside, the fries were roasting hot and crisp, the onion rings were also hot and crisp and the coleslaw was , well, coleslaw. It was a HUGE portion and well worth the £28 as it even supplied me with lunch the next day after I'd even shared some chicken and a rib with my wife. For dessert I had an Eton Mess sundae which was also huge and very tasty. I had a pint of really good Mighy Oak ale and a glass of oaky red wine. My only complaint is that they need to do more research on how to make a good (or even an average) Old Fashioned. The first one came awash with soda water and I sent it back. The replacement was better but too bitter because they didn't put any syrup in it to balance the Angostura. My wife and her friend enjoyed their minute steak and the other person in the group demolished his burger and the great fries. Our waitress, Kelly, was a consumate pro. She is knowledgeable about everything on the menu, efficient and funny with it. We will definitely be back.

Most welcoming cosy atmosphere. We all had the most scrumptious fish pie served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly & helpful. Would definitely go back there & thoroughly recommend it.

Visited with my wife for a Sunday lunch. Drinks order taken and arrived in a timely manner. We both ordered the Turkey roast dinner. When they came up both were only mildly warm so we had to send them back. When they returned I asked the waitress what they had done and she said they had redone the dishes, this was a blatant lie as I had already cut into my Turkey and there was the cut so they had obviously microwaved them. I sent them back again. When new plates arrived they were hot. However the roast potatoes were soggy and not crisp when I questioned the waitress she said 'that's how we serve them' Needless to say I was none too impressed. Won't be going back there again.

Been to this lovely pub quite a few times and only had a good experiences so thought I'd was fair to give them a shout out, we recently went to the leather bottle for a Sunday roast, for my dads birthday, we preordered as there was quite a lot of us. The food, service and ambience was amazing from start to finish, roast potatoes and parsnips to die for honestly so many pubs get this wrong (would love to know what potato you use?). Desserts on point. They were even kind enough to put together a takeaway dinner for one of the little ones after service had finished. Excellent, easily the best Sunday lunch in the area. Lovely pub with great decor. Had lunch which was served fresh and very tasty. All the members of staff we came in contact with were friendly and professional, will definitely be returning.

We had dinner here as a couple. The food was sublime and beautifully presented. The staff provided great and friendly service. Kelly was especially wonderful ! The decor created a warm and lovely atmosphere. We will return very soon !

I have recently moved to Ongar in Essex and my family came up to visit yesterday. I was searching for a pub that wouldn't mind us bringing our dogs since my sister wanted to bring her dog up with her.. We visited The Leather Bottle for lunch and my family was so impressed with the place. My Mum said it's the nicest pub lunch she has ever had. My sister who works in the food industry couldn't believe how fresh and lovely the food was. It was all delicious. Needless to say my family and I will definitely be coming back here for lunch/dinner again and again.

This is a must go place the service was excellent (Melanie and Nicky) the food very tasty and reasonably priced. Great conversation with Angie and Lyn the management.

This was our first visit to this restaurant, we visited this restaurant midweek (without a booking) and was really impressed with the service, food and everything about our experience. We had Camembert and taco starters followed by the leather burger and the honey and soy salmon and it was all amazing. The burger was a ‘proper’ homemade burger and we both cleared our plates. We also got a kids meal for our little one and that was delicious too. Also the decor is really funky which helped to keep our littles ones entertained. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Excellent service, friendly, charming, efficient and knowledgeable of menu, supportive of all dietary needs. Food was best we have all experienced in a long time. Meals eaten were butternut squash risotto ( so creamy!) , fish n chips.. delicious, chips were perfection! Sausage mash and peas..everything cooked to perfection! Starters, soup of day potato and leek , mushrooms on sourdough, garlic bread and Tempura prawns...all amazingly tasty start to the freshly cooked main meals that followed! And all in clean and attractive setting, in picturesque Blackmoor...what more could we want?! Highly recommended Fish time here, definitely not our last. Kathy Hutton.

Went for brunch as it was my daughter’s birthday and honestly couldn’t fault a thing. We sat outside in the marquee which looked inviting with round tables, cushions and patio heaters if needed.Laura our friendly waitress was very attentive throughout and seemed genuinely interested when she asked my daughter her plans for the day.Food was fantastic, beautifully presented and portions were generous. Lovely little touch at the end when Laura presented her with a black slate platter spelling happy birthday in cream, decorated with fruit and pancakes. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back. ❤️

I want to say a huge thank you to the Leather Bottle and Lin for my birthday drinks a couple of weeks ago. We hired the garden room with waitress service. I had such a lovely time, the service was amazing, always there to ask if anyone wanted drinks. We also had pizzas and fries which again was beautiful. All different flavours, goats cheese and caramelised onion was my fav! We was allowed to put our own music on and it was a chilled evening with friends. Thanks so much xx

First lunch since lockdown. What a fantastic place this is. Great food, lovely staff all within a lovely setting. They didn’t hike up their prices or chargecovid fees. A great experience and we’ll be back as we had such a great time. Thanks to all the team.

We had a party in the garden room with a waitress just for us! Service was good, drinks were high quality, the food was just what I asked for and beyond. Everyone complimented how beautiful the garden room was decorated. Would recommend the garden room for any event. All events catered for perfectly. There’s speakers to connect to and a feature wall for the insta worthy pictures

I just want to say a huge thank you to The leather bottle in Blackmore. I just moved to the area and I'm in love with this restaurant. Your food is incredible and the pub has such a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you Kelly for being so warm and attentive- you made our night super special. Our daughter stayed with us this weekend and we booked a table for dinner in the LB for Friday night. We were warmly greeted on arrival by the same lady who looked after us all night, Kelly. She showed us to our table and took drinks orders straight away. We ordered starters and mains, we had two garlic bread starters and a buffalo cauliflower, all of which were excellent followed by the largest piece of Haddock I have even seen, it covered half the plate. Our daughter had the Cajun chicken burger and my wife had the Salmon. The food came up quickly, steaming hot and was 5 star quality. Kelly checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed, it's refreshing to have such great service on top of quality food. Highly recommended, I also hope the chef and his team get to read this is they deserve the highest of praise as well.

So good to be back inside (woo hoo) eating these delicious specials, Just WOW. The beef Wellington and monkfish curry was amazing, big shout out to the kitchen staff. Thank you as always to Kelly, Hannah, Lexi and the rest of the amazing team for looking after us! Great Staff, Great Food, couldn’t ask for more. To say it’s good to be back is an understatement. ❤️

Beautiful meal tonight! Table of 4, sat inside - however outside seating is ample and covered. Blood orange gin was gorgeous, beer/cider on tap more than adequate. Olives and bread to start - followed by:Halloumi and cous cous salad - tasty Salmon fillet - fresh and well presented Haddock and chips - HUGE!!!!Jerk chicken burger - well received 3 hours, not rushed, cafetière coffee to finish, friendly welcoming service - Kelly was great at keeping our table happy! Will be returning again - great atmosphere - food even better than before lockdown - Thank you.

Enjoyed an absolutely faultless meal here this evening. We all opted for starters as frankly they were too good to turn down, opting for the calamari, potted crab and the ribs. The fish dishes were light, fresh, and seasoned to perfection, and the ribs fell off the bone. Moving onto mains the steak was cooked to perfection, no steak knife was needed as it was melt in the mouth. The salmon was equally delicious, we swapped the new potatoes for the triple cooked chips which were as good as they sound! The jerk chicken burger was incredibly fresh and non greasy. We weren’t sure if we had took for desserts but could resist sharing the trip of desserts platter which really topped off the meal beautifully. Added to the above the staff were incredibly attentive and really made the atmosphere special. This is a great relaxed venue that would be perfect for a drink but equally the food is some of the best I’ve had locally. Couldn’t fault it at all and can’t wait to return.

The Leather Bottle is our favourite place to eat but finally tried their breakfast this morning and was so good. Food and service was amazing, lovely welcome from staff and the smashed Avocado was so good. Even a lovely birthday surprise with a waffle! Definitely will be coming back for the breakfast!

What a fantastic meal, I haven’t reviewed many restaurants recently as got out the habit. I have to say I couldn’t fault anything from the amazing service from Chris yo the amazing food. Wow is all I can say. Vegans and vegetarians are so well catered for too. Please if you haven’t tried it recently. New Chef ‍ is fantastic and I am hard to please.

Booked a table undercover for early Saturday night with friends.Very welcoming and helpful staffFood was great, good portions and tasty.Also had great heaters so was warm, didn’t have to keep coat on.Only negative comment is there never seems to be any specials left? Maybe do more portions ? This happened last visit last year before 2nd lockdown, this time booking 6pm and a few dishes already sold out.Look forward to another visit very soon, would like to try breakfast as they look fantastic

The Leather bottle always go above and beyond to accommodate.We dined during the ‘outdoor dining’ only time. The open sided cover had heat on each table and the food did not disappoint in the slightest.The smoked salmon and prawn starter was amazing. Really fresh tasting and my favourite thing on the menu by far. All courses were cooked well and staff were attentive. 5/5 as always and glad to see it back open! Booked in again already.

Great roast, plenty of flavour exceptional presentation, great customer service and top notch ingredients, tender meat, crunchy vegetables and lots of gravy that is creamy and savoury... Lovely creamed cabbage, lovely large potatoes with not one but 2 large Yorkshire puddings roasted to perfection, stuffing was nicely cooked with herbs and sausage meat, the crackling from the pork was 100% edible and beautifully roasted and the large pig in blanket was a lovely bonus to a fabulous roast and the sauces were a plenty and all meats cooked to perfection,,, 10/10 thank you leather bottle and compliments to the chefs and kitchen staff and also to the bar staff

Fantastic family brunch, with friendly service. I had a very satisfying full English. The others assured me that their American pancakes and the smashed avocado on toast were equally good. Great coffee as well.

We had breakfast here with some friends. Great choice of food and when it came it was very tasty. Nice outdoor patio with cover and heaters. Nice friendly service from Kelly and the other staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I visited today for a bite to eat with a friend. We hadn’t booked and took the gamble there’d be somewhere available. Luckily we were able to sit in a sunny spot of the garden. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who promptly took our drinks order and came back for our meal choices. I was pleasantly surprised at the wide range of meals available to cater for all. Lots of light bites as well as mains. The food was cooked quickly and came out piping hot and fresh. I’ve never had onion rings like it! I’ll definitely be returning without a car to sample the extensive gins on offer!

Visited here today. Such lovely food and really nice, smiley staff. Loads of tables outdoors in the garden area, some undercover with heaters too. Could not recommend this place enough.

I have visited The Leather Bottles on a few occasions, but went there today on my birthday!The food was AMAZING, the hospitality was 5 star service, everyone was on the ball! Such friendly staff, and such a warm feeling on arrival! Highly recommend!

We had a really lovely meal for my Father in law’s 75th birthday. The food was delicious, portions generous and reasonably priced. No one had any complaints at all. My restrictive dietary requirements meant I had to preorder my food and the pub was helpful and more than accommodating. They bought specific ingredients for me and made the whole process pain free. Our waitress was called Kelly who was friendly, knowledgeable and made a tier 2 experience enjoyable for everyone.

Well it will be another Friday takeaway it’s so easy to order over the phone exact time given for collection . ..always piping hot. The packaging excellent ,staff friendly and helpful .’Now for the food it’s perfectly cooked tasty reasonably priced .... all the family highly recommend .

It was the first time we’d eaten from there since the refurbishment and we weren’t disappointed. The roast turkey was excellent, tasty large portions, and lots of gravy. It was still warm when we got home too. Definitely recommended.

What a fantastic meal we had. Sampled the new menu which I couldn’t chose as so many options. I went with the pate to start and then the ‘proper pie mash’ for main. OMG!!!!! Mash, then a steak pie, topped with beef medallions and a king prawn on top!! It was amazing. Can’t wait to try something else in there. It all looks so good.Excellent service, they are all so friendly.

We had dinner in this fantastic country pub last night. The food was amazing!!! My husband had the mushroom soup for starters, I had the prawn and smoked salmon pillow...both were really tasty!!. For mains my husband had the Buffalo Chicken burger, I had the muscles. I must say we thought they were both fantastic...really didnt want the meal to end!. Mustn't forget the brilliant service....Kelly looked after us really well. This pub is a must to visit to try their excellent food and service. They are also open for breakfast...9:00 - 11;30 am every day!!...This isnt our first visit for food. We have had the Sunday Roast which is huge!!!!! you wont leave hungry!!. They also do home made pizzas which is a plus for the kids if the normal menu isnt to their liking. Musn't forget the specials board!....Thank you al!!!

Delicious pan cooked haddock and perfectly poached eggs. Chef was pleased to tailor the food on his menu to suit our diet, the waitress was jolly and looked smart. Excellent food and speedy service, perfect for a quick lunch.

Had a really nice lunch with my son. He had a hamburger and I had a chicken burger. Hamburger was fantastic and the chicken was fresh chicken fillets in a lovely brioche bun. Garden really nice and in aide and staff great too. Definitely recommend for lunch and dinner.

After reading all good reviews booked for lunch whilst in Essex staying with family. The 3 waiting staff were all very friendly and polite. Social distancing precautions were all in place with tables well spaced. The food was very nice. Ploughman's could have had a bit more selection and salad on. Would recommend as a very clean, friendly pub

Hidden little gem, lovely garden with comfortable furniture. The dressed crab was very tasty and the sandwiches are generously deep filled. It was all very enjoyable and would return another time.

My wife and I frequently visit the Leather Bottle in Blackmore and have had many pleasant lunches and in the past drink with friends however Sunday lunch this week was exceptional. We booked in for 3 O'clock and observed the current legal requirements as we entered an took our seats in the glorious garden room which is the perfect spot to have lunch or to book a family get together, our waitress was polite and very 'on the ball', checking us every ten minutes or so to see if we needed further drinks or anything else. We both ordered the dressed crab for starters and I can honestly say this was the best dressed crab I have ever tried, no comparison whatsoever, definitely will be having that again. We then had the Bottle burger and the Harissa chicken burger, which were promptly served, we were both extremely satisfied and after our meal sat and had a further couple of drinks in this lovely environment. 5 stars for our lovely Sunday afternoon, great service, good food and a very comfortable and safe environment, well done LB.

Kelly and her busy team gave us an excellent meal. The necessary restrictions were in place but there was still a buzzy and joyful atmosphere. We sat inside but there has been a lot of work done in the garden to provide outdoor dining. The food was tasty and well timed. Thank you.

We had the tapas takeaway last night and it was phenomenal. The chilli prawns were fantastic and the chorizo was brilliant. Great value for money and social distancing rules followed. Definitely would order again.

Had the most beautiful Roast Beef Sunday lunch take-away from the Leather Bottle last weekend. I've been dying for a roast, I live alone so can never be bothered to cook a roast just for myself! The beef was so beautiful it literally melted in my mouth, crispy roast potatoes and lovely fresh veg. Also came with a cute little pot of horseradish sauce and a huge pot of gravy on the side. VERY IMPRESSED and will be ordering a lovely take-away Sunday lunch again this week

A birthday lunch for 5 people across 3 generations, enjoyed by all. Service was quick and attentive, food lovely. I was perhaps a tad ambitious to go for a starter followed by the triple roast, but that's just me.

Went for Sunday roast with our two young children. Had a lovely meal, the food was lovely. It was busy (but service still very good) and quite noisy (purely from being so busy) but that suited us perfectly as any noise our children made didn’t seem out of place. Great for family get together or meals. Food was lovely, only minor point was the roast chicken had pepper on which I found lovely but my (albeit fussy) five year old did not like.

We have heard great things about The Leather Bottle, we have wanted to go for ages & finally had an opportunity to go today. We booked a table in the bar, took a seat got no service so I went to the bar to ask for menu’s & to get us a drink but the woman behind the bar (older shorter lady with short hair) did everything possible to avoid making eye contact with me & speaking to me. I gave up & my husband tried - same thing zero help zero service, she just came across as miserable & intentionally unhelpful. We went into the restaurant and a lovely lady said someone will be with us shortly. She came over & took our drink orders - I asked for a large house red, my husband got a beer. I was then presented with a glass of white wine, I said sorry I asked for red. That started a mini chat of frustration in the bar - which I heard, the waitress said I asked for white. Let me just clarify, I haven’t had a glass of white wine in over 10 years, I only drink red - so there’s no way I would have said white by accident. Our food came it was very average, but we had to wait for ages for someone to come over for us to ask for out bill (bear in mind we have an 8 month old baby with us). We finally got the bill and guess what ? They charged me for the most expensive red wine (to make up for the white wine incident of course) when I asked for the house red which is £3 cheaper, it was pretty shameless really. I caught the unhelpful lady behind the bar look at me when she heard us work out what they’d done. Luckily there was a different lady at the till who amended the bill & only charged me for the house red. My hippie side would say the place has “bad vibes” , we definitely won’t be going back there again - it’s extremely overrated.

Have visited a couple of times recently for an early evening drinks. Good selection of beers yet to eat in the restaurant.

Myself and my family had Sunday lunch this evening- it was absolutely fantastic. The scotch egg is to die for and the beef was cooked to perfection. The staff are knowledgeable about the food and very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

And a black pudding scotch egg! Lovely little pub in a cute village location! Decor was beautiful! Definitely will be returning!

Based on the response given to the last review, I think you should not only consider training your front of house staff on customer service but also to the management who respond on here. It says a lot about an establishment and how they respond to negative feedback and your attitude has proved really disappointing, which is a real shame.

Visited this Sunday lunchtime. Everyone couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and food was second to none. Beef and pork were excellent and Brie starters also superb. Great setting as well. Lovely pub in a nice village. Great pub, great staff and great food. 5 stars. Will be back

My fiance and I thought to try this restaurant as heard lots of good thing so we booked a table for 4pm on a Sunday and looked forward to our visit.Restaurant was easy to find and parking was no problem.As soon as we walked into the restaurant area we were met by a member of staff. My fiance gave the booking name and the staff member pointed to our table but asked us "would you mind ordering quickly please as the kitchen shuts soon". Unfortunately from that moment we felt quite rushed from then on. The staff were friendly enough but we did feel a bit like we were putting them out a bit and so it spoilt the experience unfortunately.If the kitchen closes at 5pm and you're still accepting bookings up until near that time then I don't think it's wise to ask customers to hurry up ordering. It can come across a little rude and unwelcoming. Like us, it placed a negative on our visit despite the food being amazing. Unfortunately we won't be returning and feel the restaurant should work on this.

Spent NYE in the Leather Bottle. Food was very good and great value. The pub was busy but not packed and the atmosphere was really friendly. We enjoyed the interesting selection of songs the band played as well. All in all a really nice night which far exceeded our expectations. Thank you all.

I’ve had several meals in this lovely restaurant however last nights meal was the best! I invited 5 of my friends who live in Hornchurch to have our “Christmas do!” in the Leather Bottle. Not only was the service good....Julie looked after us all night!!.....the food was amazing! As we were eating from the Christmas menu at a set price we ordered our food in advance. We were not disappointed! My friends, who all had the Christmas dinner, couldn’t eat all their main course as there was far too much! They all want to come back for a lunch in the New Year which I also recommend. Can’t wait to eat here again!

We called here for lunch a couple of days ago and were very pleased with the meal, drinks and service. The welcome was warm and the service very personable from the obviously very hard working team member. The food was well presented and plentiful for the price and of course it was also delicious.

Had a good lunch here today but was spoiled by being stuck on a table in a draughty corner of the busy bar area. We had pre-booked (in the week) but weren't told this. We asked to be moved and the manager moved us to a small table at the end of a large family group despite there being other tables free. It was also cold. No heating! The temperature today was 6degrees! We won't be returning which is a shame as the roast dinner was delicious.

Looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday night with freinds. This place was recommended to us, excellent!! Food, service, location, menu all very good. Well worth a visit for a quiet, enjoyable evening.

Lovely Sunday lunch in beautiful setting. Menu choices were amazing and food delicious. Had a lovely table overlooking the garden.

Stopped here for a visit with family. I've been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Lovely staff, happy to adjust your meal to just how you like it. We can be an awkward family, but nothing is ever too much for these guys. We'll be back

A lovely, clean, spacious pub. Throughly enjoyed our meal. Food was fresh, well presented and really tasty. Staff are friendly and attentive without being disruptive. Looking forward to returning!

Called in ad hoc and was nicely surprised. The food was nicely cooked with a reasonable choice on the menu. Have to say the staff were very attentive and pleasant.

So happy to have visited today for my mother's 90th birthday. Staff were wonderful and food excellent. Really couldn't fault anything.

Another wonderful experience in this beautiful country village pub for my partner and I.

Our friend was visiting from Australia and she wanted to experience a typical English Village, so we took her into Blackmore for the afternoon. We walked around the Historical Church, viewed the old Priory, along Blacksmiths Alley, onto the Green and alongside the Duck Pond, we then took her for Sunday Lunch at the Leather Bottle. This was by far the best bit of her English Village experience, we all had starters and mains and the food was exemplary, swiftly served and well presented. The two ladies who served us were attentive and delighful to speak with and it didn't cost the Earth. Our Antipodean friend went home to Oz thinking that all Village Pubs are like this one, well done LB for topping off her experience so well.

Fantastic lunch, husband had the mixed grill, it was presented beautifully, and plenty of it. I had traditional scampi, again beautifully presented and plenty of it. Lovely surroundings and staff always friendly and helpful, well worth a visit ❤️

Called in quite late with 5 friends. Excellent choice of real ales and we all ordered food. That was served hot and well cooked. Not a gourmet menu at the time we arrived but what we ordered was very good. Waiting staff pleasant and cheerful!

This is a lovely restaurant with friendly staff, really good food which is cooked freshly for each individual. The atmosphere is relaxing and it is definitely worth a visit. I have been back several times and no disappointments!!

The staff are very attentive and the venue very thoughtfully and tastefully laid out. We went for a slightly early lunch. The menu was rather limited and we did slightly struggle to find something that we both could eat but decided to go for fish and chips and scampi and chips basic stuff. The staff as I say were lovely and we had a simple starter and dessert. It was very filling and very good value for money. The rating is really the limited menu and that my scampi really looked like Birdseye scampi and tasted the same. Would I go again .. umm possibly but possibly not..

First visit here, for an evening meal.

Wow we couldn’t decide whether to eat out or cook. The wife refused to cook so we had Sunday lunch at The Leather Bottle.

The other half spotted this place on a cycle ride so we waited for a decent summers day and drove to the pub. Set in a small village next to a tea room, it is fairly modern yet contemporary in style (like most pubs these days) but had a real local charm.

Not been here in years and its certainly changed. Despite a 2 page menu the mains are just half a dozen items, mostly pub standards although Pie & Mash was somewhat different. Wife had the excellent Haddock & chips while i went for a starter and the cheese & biscuits. The cheese choice included a Goats cheese, which was to die for. Friendly stall supplied me with the details and i went home & bought some on the internet (bloody expensive!!!). They lost a star because of the small mains menu and the lack of a strong ale despite having 4 others on offer.

I used to live in Blackmore as a kid so thought I’d pop in here as was visiting. Wow!! How it’s changed. Is now a nice restaurant with lovely decor. Food was good and the service was brilliant. Definitely a change for the better!
