Le Marmiton Bistro in Redbridge

One of our favourite go to places in Wanstead. The food's always reliably good and the service is always friendly and efficient. we feel lucky to have such a great place on our doorstep!!

Fabulous food in lovely surroundings with exceptional service. Little gem on our High Street. Highly recommend will visit again soon.

Overall a good experience. Tasty tartiflette- outstanding Sunday roast trio of pork belly / duck leg / sirloin with all the trimmings. Good chocolate mousse and wines, came in at £70. I’d asked for some Brie but said could they wait and they agreed, then they came back and said they’d run out so I was mildly irritated. But the service was sweet natured so I wouldn’t hold it against them. Recommended.

4th visit & Le Marmiton delivered the Valentines Dinner to perfection! The menu was just perfect, the ambience was a wonderful night for couples. Staff were very attentive and you were not rushed for a second seating, it was just one sitting. Well done can’t wait to come back!

Do you like fancy food accompanied by 15 minute explanations by the waiter about how the puddle on your plate was extracted form the metaphysical fabric of the universe? Maybe you like chilli with everything so that you can't taste the food on your plate? If the answer to either of those questions is"no" and instead you like proper French food, then this is the place for you. My third visit was as good as the others. I began with a super scrummy tartiflette and my wife enjoyed delicious scallops. She followed with a perfectly judged flat iron steak and I had a sumptuous pork belly with proper crackling. And a memorable gratin dauphinoise . We both enjoyed a lovely pear and almond tart All food is fresh and is freshly cooked so you will have to wait a bit after ordering. It is absolutely worth it. The is plenty of it too. You wont go hungry, far from it Wine is reasonably priced and the service excellent. Tables are well spaced. Shut your eyes and close your ears and you could be in Montmartre. Love this place and will return often

Went with a group of nurses who enjoy good food and we were not disappointed. Good welcome, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere . I had the prawns which probably would have been better in the shells but we’re nice , everyone enjoyed their starters. I then had the most delicious, magnificent piece of slow cooked boneless lamb shoulder with spinach and mashed potatoes in the most delicious sauce. A generous portion too. We all had different mains which were well recieved especially the cassoulet. I then had good quality vanilla ice cream but others had the chocolate mouses described as divine and the burnet Basque cheesecake which was equally well recieved Altogether a wonderful evening . They also are dog friendly which was an added bonus!

Went here for the first time and had the set menu. Salmon pate with toasted bread and steak, chips and mushroom sauce. The service was good and the food very good. The steak was cooked how I asked for it and had been partially cut up, it wasn't tough. Chips very crisp. I thought good value. A very good evening out.

Absolutely love this restaurant - it’s our go to place as the food is exceptional and the staff and ambience are simply the best! Cosy interior, good quality food and wine (at the correct temperature) and not the usual rip off. It was our first visit and we will be back.

Fantastic service and food and very reasonably priced. The owner is a nice guy and has a lovely restaurant here. At a time of cost of living squeeze the prices are more than reasonable. Very much recommend.

Popped in on a Wednesday to try out the new 3 course set menu. As ever the service was polite and friendly and all the dishes were delicious. At £19.50 it really is a bargain. I am sure we will be back again soon

Second time visiting here and what a pleasure. Went for the set menu had goats cheese salad, sea bass and chocolate mousse all courses were delicious. They do an outstanding roast too. Great atmosphere, staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. Good service. I would highly recommend. So lucky to have such a fab restaurant on my doorstep.
