Lazeez Grill House & Takeaway in Liverpool

Ignore the bad reviews; although this place looks like a late night snot-gobbler it's far from it!I ordered a lamb Qozy and the meal consisted of:A bowl of good dal soupTwo huge pieces of meltingly tender slow-cooked lamb which just fell off the boneA mountain of rich, buttery Byriani style rice (you can have plain rice if you prefer) A bowl of aubergine stew and a bowl of potatoes, both excellentA plate of saladA bottle of water.... All for 8 quid. We also had a huge pile of char grilled, marinated chicken wings - some of the best I've had - as well as some delicious, light, freshly baked naan bread. My companions all had 'half size' kofta; the half portion is 2 enormous skewers served on the same brilliant bread with salad. I would defy anyone to eat a 'full' portion. The flavours are Kurdish not Turkish so don't expect your average kebab. The chicken is flavoured with sumac which is zingy and citrussy and I suspect that's why one of the reviewers didn't like it. Go with an open mind and you'll love it - and show me somewhere else you can stuff your face with great food for £8!

Ordered two chicken tikka kebabs with rice for collection. Our meal was ready for collection on time but not good value at £20 for two kebabs with rice. If the meal was top notch then yes ok £20 would be cool but the chicken tasted strange and had not been freshly cooked on a grill. It tasted like left overs reheated. The salad was pathetic. Bread was nice though. The meat was the cheapest chicken thighs they could probably buy and i was expecting freshly cooked chicken over a charcoal grill. Sadly this wasn't it. Sorry but not for me.

authentic kurdish food , reasonable price , amazing taste ,good ambience , service was quick and welcoming , highly recommend a visit

Muy buena comida kurda auténtica, a un precio razonable y mucho! Fue tan bueno que no solo fuimos anoche sino que volvimos esta vez a la hora del almuerzo. . . Nada especial pero muy sabroso cordero! Y para aquellos a quienes no les gusta la comida picante caliente o no pueden comerla, no se trata de 'calor' sino de sabores encantadores. . . Y personal muy acogedor! ¡Definitivamente regresaré allí en mi próxima visita a Liverpool!

Absolutely disgusted to have found a hair in my food:o the chips were soggy and half cold and then found a hair in my kebab(which to be fair I was enjoying to that point). Cant say I would go back!

Just walking streets of Liverpool, bit hanging after last night, walked in this simple looking restaurant and had one of nicest and simplest kebab in my life thx very much guys, wish you have a shop in Belfast

DO NOT EVER USE! Not only the takeaway failed to deliver the order, but the owner was very rude and refused to arrange the required compensation!

Called in for something to eat before going to see A Christmas Carol at St George’s Hall. The food was tasty and big portions, see photos for our food choices. Service quick and friendly. Nice meal.

The service was excellent as was the food and the value for money. Not surprised it was packed when I went in there and will happily go back.

Buscando comida pre gig, está a la vuelta de la esquina de O 2 Academy. Lo probamos, parecía viejo pero estaba lleno y olían muy bien.Como han dicho otros, nos dieron un pequeño plato de sabrosa sopa de lentejas y una botella de agua mientras elegíamos el menú.Fantástica comida servida - cordero kebab, pollo tikka kebab y pollo asado con piel de curry picante. Panes naan gigantes que eran ligeros. La comida era a la parrilla y no grasa en absoluto, no me puedo quejar, estaba delicioso. Tal buen valor por dinero. Comida para tres incluyendo bebidas - 18. ¿Cómo es eso posible?Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en la ciudad.

Don’t be put off by the exterior or interior the food is seriously good best lamb I have ever had in my life! Amazing kebabs off the charcoal grill, fresh bread out of a clay oven and for under a tenner your not beating it anywhere , try the mixed quozy if your hungry . traditional Kurdish food in Liverpool you can’t beat it.

Stumbled in for pre gig bite, and with low expectations as the place is a little grotty. Lamb kebab was stunning, beautiful tender meat, lovely bread and salad, great sauces. And insanely cheap.

I had a lamb kofta for lunch. It was a poor cut of lamb that was so fatty that I threw it in the bin. The worst kofta ever. Service consisted of nods and all delivered with pan faced expressions.

We hesitated at the door (we definitely weren't local to the area) until the chap who serves dragged us in with a big smile. The place itself looks a little run down and London Road is definitely not Bond Street but the food and hospitality is just wonderful.

Really nice place a hidden gem, make you feel welcome and the food is excellent and at a great price too. Staff let you try lots of other dishes too highly recommend a visit.

We called in here because we were looking for a place to eat close to the theatre, we where running out of places and time. We passed it first nothing to look at to be truthful it's a bit grotty looking but it was full, we like kebabs etc so we went in. Sat down they brought us a bottle of water each, and a bowl of soup which we didn't order they just automatically give everyone one these when they come in they said it was lentil soup it was gorgeous tasted a little like curry beautiful. Then we ordered our food I had lamb kofte salad and nan half portion, my other half had lamb kebab salad and nan half portion too. Has you do we ordered chips and 2 cans of coke, when our food came it was big portions I hate to think what a full size portion is, mine was minced lamb beautiful taste my partners was chunks of lamb he said it was really tender. Also they brought another nan whole one, it all just about got on the table the food was exceptional well worth a try and the soup they brought out I could of just ate that all this for £16.50 if you go to Liverpool give it a try look beyond the decor of the place you won't be disappointed

This restaurant is by far the tastiest restaurant i have been to in the UK. The flavours there are sensational. The price and quantity you get is really good. Sometimes you judge a restaurant for good food but the consistency there is very good. Every time I have been there and it's always excellent. The staff there are really friendly. I eat out a lot and finally I have found the best so far. I have written about this place because it deserves every praise. At last I can eat in a restaurant that is worth every penny

unfortunately i don't have any pictures to provide however this restaurant was beautiful very authentic kurdish food it was my first time trying kurdish cusine and i have to say everything i had was fresh hot and full of flavour when i come to liverpool again this will be one of my first stops you get loads for your money and they really look after you and the soup is to die for and the sheesh kebabs and grillz yum yum

Found this place by accident, its a café that serves all types of food, its not a Michelin star place but the food is excellent, the portions are huge so make sure your hungry when you go.......when you sit down you will get a FREE bowl of soup and a bottle of water, took me by surprise lol.......very good vale for money
