Was really looking forward to afternoon tea based upon photos I'd seen online...in particular the deserts. I was very disappointed. The bread wasn't fresh, the scones were not freshly made, just warmed up - hard on the outside. And the lovely deserts were not. A piece of plain looking sponge, a piece of brown sponge with green icing and a brownie.

We went for a birthday celebration. The actual Laura Ashley tea room was closed and we were in the Kingfisher Suite which is a glorified conference room, but it did have good views of the gardens. We had to wait about 15 minutes for someone to come and get our order. I had the gluten-free and vegan option which was mediocre and certainly not worth paying extra for. To get to the kingfisher suite we had to use the stairs; there are no lifts. They had a CS player playing a CS which was scratched; I had to get up and turn it off. All in all, there’s probably hotels that offer a better service.

I wish I had photographed this afternoon tea because it was so bad that it was actually hilarious. We received vouchers as a gift and we were really looking forward to this experience. The purchaser had paid extra for us to have vegan/vegetarian afternoon teas. On arrival we had to wait an unacceptable amount of time to be seated (over 10 minutes) and even longer to have our drinks order taken. When my coffee came the waiter had already plunged the cafetiere, obviously too quickly because the liquid was full of coffee grounds. When the waitress delivered a replacement she very provided a very condescending explaination of how to use the cafetiere thanks dear for that! Thankfully I drink my coffee black as there was no dairy free milk alternative. When our food arrived I was really disappointed and quite confused as to where the extra money had gone. The afternoon tea complrised of: layer 1: 4 finger sandwiches with a pesto filling, layer 2: two shop bought cookies and a large pot of jam, layer 3: 4 bite sized deserts 2 of which were very stale. We did question the waiter what the pot of jam was for and he was as confused as us. So apart from the food seriously underdelivering there was unnecessary food waste of the pointless jam. I won't go in to too much detail regarding the bathrooms at this establishment but honestly I have seen better hygiene standards in festival toilets. With the exception of a good humoured chap called Jake the staff clearly did not want to be there and had very little in the way of customer service skills. On the plus side the decor was tasteful, the crockery and cutlery were for the most part clean and we had a good laugh!

Booked a spa day. Didn’t expect much as it wasn’t expensive. Hotel nice enough. Reception staff friendly. Spa lady very nice and treatments were nice and enjoyable. It’s not however a spa. The only spa facilities are a hot tub and a relaxation room. The hot tub is nice enough but the area outside of it needs a good clean and a tidy up. Outside of hot tub dirty, chairs were dirty. It could be made a lovely area but just isn’t looked after. The relaxation room is a tiny room with two sofa’s so not what I would call a relaxation room. Bathrobes worn. You can make your own drinks in there but the shower is also in there so hardly relaxing if people need to shower or use the toilet. Again room needs redecorating and new furniture as it’s all tired but like I say we didn’t pay much so knew in advance it didn’t have spa facilities. On arrival I asked for some changes to afternoon tea these were not communicated to the kitchen so this caused an issued when we sat down for afternoon tea. Afternoon tea service awful and we were left feeling quite uncomfortable with the waiter just standing staring at us. The tea was undrinkable and we had to actually ask for tea bags instead. Food not the best the sandwiches were dry. I didn’t eat the cakes as didn’t enjoy them but scones were lovely. A table nearby had a roast dinner which looked lovely. Overall could be a lovely place but needs some updating.

£22 a head for the basic afternoon tea was overly expensive in a restaurant which has no discernible Laura Ashley touches apart from the name. It was ok but nothing special to make it worth the price. Compared to several other hotel afternoon teas c£15 a head which I have had, I can’t recommend this.

Had a delicious afternoon tea last week, sandwich fillings were just the right amount without being overfilled, and very tasty. Cakes and scones were lovely, our favourite was the blackcurrant cheesecake!

Lovely location in the Laura Ashley Tea Room. Great service, lovely food and gentle atmosphere. Plenty of space in the tea room, spotlessly clean. Our granddaughter really enjoyed being spoilt a little and described the hotel ‘it’s so fancy’ 😊

I recently visited this hotel with family to celebrate my sister's birthday. We had booked a table in their Laura Ashley tea room for afternoon tea as it is local to us. Myself and my sister opted for the gluten-free afternoon tea that is offered as we are both coeliacs. We were pleasantly surprised when it arrived as, to be honest, it looked even better than the normal afternoon tea! It was filled with a range of open top sandwiches, some gorgeous gluten-free scones (the best I've ever tasted) and a variety of gluten-free cakes. The setting of the room was also very nice and the staff were helpful and friendly with everything arriving promptly, in particular Jake (I didn't manage to get any other staff names). When we ate here the eat out to help out scheme was in place but I think the prices were reasonable anywayl. Only improvement I could suggest would be an improvement to the cocktail menu as it was limited or an option to have a cocktail afternoon tea similar to the prosecco afternoon tea offered. I would also suggest going later on in the afternoon for a better atmosphere.

What a delightful afternoon tea. Fresh range of sandwiches, tasty cakes, warm scones and pots of tea made the ideal afternoon tea. The newly decorated room was relaxing and spacious. Very friendly staff. The head chef and general manager were most accommodating. I will definitely be returning.

Not as good as the chippy in Astwood Bank but the chubby lad Lucas with the Jake Paul haircut is relatively pleasant in a simple kind of way. Their best worker Mandip has unfortunately left.

Usual Costa menu, freindly staff, very busy, but plenty of seating in store or outside in the shopping centre.

Cold food, I have teenagers so I’m sure they would have still ate it….however 2 coarse black hairs found in the food. Called to complain and got an extremely rude man who refused to accept we received cold food containing hair. Tried to tell me the cook had cancer so it couldn’t be from there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!
