Lara Grill in Barking and Dagenham

Amazing Food. The chicken skewers were so juicy and tender. Their Virgin Colada was the best one that I have tasted across different countries. The portion was very good for the price. The meat (chicken which is what we ordered) was perfectly cooked, tender, no foul smell or taste which usually comes in recooking the chicken. It was just absolutely tasty and fresh food. The salad was fresh, the rice was so flavored and rich. Their bread was warm and freshly baked in house, so was the garlic sauce and their tomato side that they gave along! One of the best Mediterranean cuisine in London! The ambience was great, well spacious, cosy, friendly staff, very quick with orders, their plates and cutleries were sparkling clean. There is a parking space as well with 2 hours of free parking. Situated next to a bus stop too in case of public transport.

Beautiful place inside and the food was absolutely delicious. Took our young children (5 yrs and 1 yrs) and they devoured the calamari and chicken shish with bulgur. The staff were extremely friendly, compassionate and professional. They were able to cater to my dietary need (no dairy) and the food portions were very generous. We had the pleasure of having Secil as our main waitress and she provided first-class service. Decor inside was beautiful and elegant. Spacious cheap parking is available at the side of the restaurant that extends to the back, making the restaurant very easy to access. Would definitely recommend to others and we will be returning soon.

We had a birthday party and we orderd by phone some 6 mix grill they were very quick and good comunnication by phone excellent customer service and the best and fresh food from all Dagenham!!! Very well done!

Best rice I've ever had in a Turkish restaurant. I'm Ghanaian and I love rice. Their rice is top-notch. No wonder I met more Africans there.

We celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday on 29 Mar, at our familiar & local, Lara Grill in Dagenham. Secil was amazing & couldn’t have been as wonderful without her great customer service, attention to detail and accommodating our requirements. It was so disappointing and unfortunate that other staff, (including the female manager that has worked there a long time & was on duty at 5pm) were shockingly rude. They lacked the professionalism that we are used to & expect, especially on such a big celebratory occasion. The food however, was not a disappointment & was delicious. Thank you again, Secil. We all really appreciate you.

When the food eventually came, it was very nice. We went there for iftar, unfortunately we were unable to break our fast on time as no water was available. Staff tried their best to provide service but were very clearly under staffed. Restaurant was overwhelmed and could not keep up with demand. Visit on a normal day, do not come here for iftar or on a busy night.

Really friendly staff nice food

Really fantastic dining experience we had today. We were just looking for somewhere to eat as in the area and this place really ticked all the boxes and went beyond. Our waitress, Secil was absolutely wonderful and gave great service with a lovey smile. Child friendly, comfortable seating and delicious food. I had the chicken salad, which was far from bland, as well as the king prawn starter and grilled halloumi. Absolutely brilliant experience, just a shame we live so far away!

Service was absolutely appalling. I had to wait almost a hour for drinks which I had to ask for 3 times! The food I cannot fault, one of the tastiest meals I’ve had but the service was extremely poor.

Food was good and came out really quickly, as we had just opened our fast. Lady serving us just had a bit of an attitude, for that reason we asked to remove the service charge which they did do. They charge you extra for Turkish tea, do not give out free bread of salad like most places..

I love love love Turkey food an love Lara Grill. It is my favourite restaurant to go to or order from, service is top notch sitting in and being delivered. Food is freshly cooked an very flavoursome, Lara is always my go to. There was once I was unable to get it delivered an almost had a meltdown and was willing to make the journey to collect as I love it so much.

The dinner we had was amazing everything from the drinks to dessert. Secil gave amazing and attentive service.

We are regulars here love the food have never been disappointed. But our server today Secil went above and beyond for us, she was great.

The service is amazing, food is great you are proper looked after here Always so welcoming I would highly recommend visiting this place. Lovely food no doubt ....but service charge added to the bill is not appropriate. Iv heard top end places add 12.5 % that are in posh areas . However Dagneham isn't an area with high income . So I think it's a cheek to add that onto the bill . I think owners need to pay their staff a fair wage , not down to customer paying additional 12.5 %. The staff do a great job most of time , but they are doing there job which is take the order and bring out the food . Why do they need 12.5% from customer for doing this? We came as a group of 5, so not a large group

We booked for our daughter's 18th Birthday for 12 people, the atmosphere and food was amazing. Secil our server was so lovely, she attended to all our needs and helped arrange my daughter's birthday cake so it looked amazing. Highly recommend you visit here

Best turkish food to have. We always go on special occasions birthdays etc. Staffs serving you are top-notch. No wonder we keep going back again and again.

Looks nice! Looks clean! However, food is extremely overpriced. I paid almost £20 for grilled sea bass fillets that came with very small portion of rice. If it wasn't for the nan bread they served before the food arrived (which was delicious), I would be left hungry. They just 'assume' you want ice in your drink, that then takes the space of the actual drink. We were asked straight after we finished eating if we still wanted to stay seated or if we wanted to start making our way out. Passive aggressive approach. Made us feel unwelcome. Service charge was later being added to the bill almost as if it was mandatory. In total, they added £39 service fee. Some of us refused to pay, because some didn't like the food and some didn't like the service. When the last person was going to pay, they said that there were £90 left to be paid. But we knew there was no way that person could have spent £90. We recalculated everything with them, and the amount missing was actually £66. They insisted for a while, and when they saw we were not going to fall for that, they said: "The amount missing is from the service fee that you don't want to pay. But it's OK. " What??? Is this mandatory now? How can you act like this? Never going back there, sorry. Service charge is optional. I have the right not to want to pay. Specially, if the service was not good.

Popped in for lunch after a recommendation. Went in as soon as the place opened at midday so it was empty. Loads of staff prepping food. Our waitress Secil looked after us very weak indeed. The food was excellent all washed down with a beer and coffee to follow. Top class would recommend, I bet this place is buzzing in the evening 👍🍺🍺

I have never written a complaint before but this time was just unspeakably bad!! We ordered a large table, many people. He started to bring the main dishes, it turns out that he simply forgot about the two dishes that were ordered. The waitress, instead of apologizing, began to argue and lie that we had ordered completely different dishes, but those dishes weren't ready either. Since one of the dishes was for a child, we agreed to at least prepare this dish. The waitress said it would be ready in 5 minutes. but I watched the time and the dish was not brought even after 20 minutes. Therefore, we refused this dish as well. Again the waitress didn't apologize, she just tried to put that dish in. As a customer, I have never experienced anything like this, that instead of admitting her fault, she tried to blame the customer. Very very poor place.

Today evening my family had very bad customer service at Lara Grill. We come with friends and childrens. Everyone make orders. When food was service to ourtable. My and my children not be served. But we made order first ones . Waitres come to explain what I order chicken doner with chips, but my order was chicken shih. After conversation I said to she "okay doesn't matter bring me chicken doner " because everyone was starting eat. But all my table hear before how I order chicken shis.She said okay 5 mins. and I coming with food. After 20 mins. she just walking around another tables. I ask again about my order. okay again just 5 mins. And after 10 mins.just ask cancel my order because everyone was ready order desert. I know mistakes happens we just humans. But she don't come to say simple sorry. Just leave everything like that. When we everyone was leaving she just walking around and don't look to us. My child and me leave this place hungry and very disappointed service. I don't recommend this place

Very tasty food and a very generous portion. Professional service with a smile. Couldn't fault anything. May be a little pricey for some but you get what you pay for.

Food is great here however we visited on Thursday 21 December (yep, right before Christmas). Firstly I stood for ages waiting to be seated (I'd booked!), making it quite obvious I wasn't getting a takeaway and they seemed disinterested. Finally I asked if I needed to do something to let them know I was dining, which seemed to let them know I was there to eat. They were closing at 10 and our booking was at 8:30, a platter for two and wine. Quite a lot of food to get through, at almost 10 the waitress came over and said to us "do you want a box for your food?". I think that was her way of letting us know they were closing. Except the restaurant was still quite full of diners, so what were the other people doing? Eventually, I said yes we would take a box (we also still had almost full glasses of wine). I asked for the bill and I said to her to take the service charge off - the service was awful, there had barely been service! She didn't even look surprised when I asked, like she thought I was expecting it. Won't be back as service is part of the dining experience and they have a lot to learn. Clearly they are skilled in takeaway clientele but not dining.

Quiet lovely Turkish restaurant

I had stopped ordering from them for a while, but have now started again! Food: I ordered chicken Soup and chicken Casserole x2 We were a bit too unwell to cook. The caserole was a healthier option and the soup was amazing. My kids had the soup with noodles and rice later on. The soup comes with onions, olives and they also gave me 3x nice breads which can get stale but gets back to normal it you reheat on toaster! I would suggest not to order künefe. You’d rather travel to Wood Green for a fresh one or have it in turkey.

Great gem not too far from home. Had dinner with a friend who also doesn't live too far away. We usually go Haringay for turkish food but it was good to go to somewhere a bit more local that has quality. Will return!

Safe to say I won’t be returning soon. Service: 2/5 Used to go to this place when it only started as a small cafe and had only 10 seats. But this visit was very bad. We booked a table in advance. We received our drinks 25 minutes in after eating even after I was telling them every 5 minutes. At the end I got up and started to be quite vocal about it to one of the staff members. The waitress said it was busy hence the delay with the drinks. This does not make sense as we got our food before it it was only 1 soft drink and rest were glasses of water. Food 3/5 The chops and ribs were so chewy and rather tasteless. I’ve had turkish style rice before from many restaurants but this was like sticky rice all bunched up together like a ball. I really don’t know what happened as my last visit a year ago was brilliant. They have really gone down hill with their service and food.

Food and service was good. 12.5% service charge added on to the bill. We didn't have alcohol.

Food was soooo GOOD but tbh I liked the bread and rice the most haha Lovely workers too. If you don’t finish your food they provide you with a container for it, to take home.

Seated quickly, attention was given. The server was lovely and the food delicious. You get a generous amount of food with your order. So there can be a danger of over ordering. I'm not complaining though, taking food home for the next day is fine with me.

Great looking shop. Bread was tasty and the sauce complimented it well. Ribs were not as soft as they should have been. £55 for a 2/3 person platter. Chicken wings were 7/10 and the other chicken pieces were more 5/10. Overall, a decent restaurant with reasonable pricing.
