Just a bit meh. Reasonable quality food but £70 for a meal for 2 is much more expensive that it should be. Near empty restaurant with no music meant it was almost devoid of atmosphere. Staff are attentive but look bored as it's empty. We paid and rushed out. It's the only Italian for miles. It should be great but it's not. The menu, staff, vibe all feels tired. Would benefit from a revamp

I have known this restaurant for over 20yrs, hadn't been there for awhile so visited in May (no problem) and again yesterday Sunday at 2:45pm (horrible service) When me and my friend entered there were just 2 other people eating, the waitress understandably directed us to a choice of tables for 2. When we sat down the seats were not very comfortable so knowing that the restaurant was empty we asked if we could move to the next table which seated 4 people but had comfy chairs. The lovely waitress asked what appeared to be her manager if this would be OK and he seemed hesitant and not pleased but said yes. I then asked the waitress for a meal that I knew was no longer on the menu but available which I had on my previous visit in May. It was a very simple dish, breast of chicken with veg and potatoes. The waitress asked her manager who came over and said 'what's happening, first you want to change your table, now you want to change the menu, are you going to ask me to find you a man as well" I was astonished, he wasn't smiling so I knew he was not joking. I proceeded to explain that an older gentleman who served me previously was OK with that and his response was "well he will be here at 4pm" I should have walked at that point! In the end we got what we ordered which was lovely. After our meal, the rude manager came over to try and make small talk to repair the damage but quite frankly was too late. I discovered he works nights at a club then works in the day, clearly burning the candle at both ends is not advisable if it impacts your ability to provide polite customer service. By the way service charge was added to the bill! This experience has left a nasty taste in my mouth

Good food, the service was ok, we are alone there and we were so comfy. The best for me was the chocolate mouse.

Such a horrible experience. Just now (5.10pm Saturday) me and my friend walked in to have some drinks and asked for a table for two. We were told by the waiter at the entrance they are not accepting customers. However, there were already people inside the restaurant being served and many tables were empty which we could see from outside. We are two south Asian women - we were denied because we dont look like them?

It has been a long time coming which I left this review. I was completely disappointed with the service I got from the two women who served me one late evening. This has been a restaurant that I’ve gone to for years and with my arrival from the beginning, they were not accommodating for my friend who is disabled not only that but The more mature lad decided to plan to give me tapwater I saw when they were planning to do this which they were speaking in their language and things seemed very peculiar. I had realised that they went along with their plan and served me bottled water. I am infuriated by this and have been since I had been there and have wanted to make this complaint for the longest, hope they treat all customers with care and keep the standards which they had had from. I was a young child when going there with my family.

Had lunch here with my family before going to Battersea park. We were the first customers and the place is nice and cosy. My partner had the ravioli which was tasty with great texture. My son enjoyed his spaghetti bolognese and calamari. I had their lasagne which was very tasty so good! Service was great and you can tell this place is a local gem. We will be returning again...thank you guys!

Hadn't been for over a decade - Beautiful setting, clean & presentable. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was heavenly - they have a weekly 'specials' board. I opted for lasagna, others got steak, gorgonzola, veal Milanese and Calves Liver. Value for money. Have missed this place!

We popped out for lunch with our granddaughter and literally stumbled into this charming little restaurant! The Kiddo had a full size Spaghetti Bolognaise, Grandpa had Linguine Sicilian and I had Parma ham with Burrata. The seafood pasta was so fresh and delicious and Bolognese sauce was excellent very meaty and tasty. Everything was so fresh including the Parma ham. What a find this place is, we will definitely be back to do some serious dining! The waiter was charming too!

Delicious, down-to-earth Italian food with a lovely atmosphere and just around the corner from me. Excellent, friendly service from the staff, fresh, good quality ingredients and excellent portion sizes - particularly the tiramisu!

Small Italian eatery, small portions, despite having 3 courses left still hungry. No bread available (in an Italian restaurant!), disgraceful to add a "service charge" in my opinion when there was little in the way of service other than delivering food and collecting the plates, starters were delivered incorrectly and we had an £8 bottle of prosecco and paid £29.95 for it. Food was tasty. Wouldn't visit again.

Food wasn't bad. Service was terrible. After been greeted at the door the lady just started walking down to what I assume was the kitchen. I followed only to be told I couldn't go down there. After that my starter was cleared away before I finished then me and another table (older ladies) were practically kicked out because they wanted to close. Rude and rushed. Happy to give nice reviews for nice experiences. Don't habe people in 40 mins before close if you gonna treat them this way. Just close earlier.

Food taste good and good customer service

Lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of Battersea. The food is delicious, very well flavoured and reasonably priced. My father had the calves liver with butter and sage. Despite a kitchen mishap resulting in a wrong order, his correct one was brought out in minutes by apologetic staff. I had the prawn risotto - beautifully cooked and delicious. The staff were so warm and friendly, very welcoming. A delicious Aperol Spritz never goes amiss either! Can’t recommend enough. A great local small business.

I'm afraid I agree with the earlier recent review. We have been going here for over 30 years. It has unfortunately gone downhill perhaps as a result of a change of management. It was previously exceptional and very consistent.

Absolutely exquisite dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance is charming and cozy, perfect for a romantic dinner or a family gathering. The menu boasts a delightful selection of authentic Italian dishes, each prepared with precision and bursting with flavor. The pasta dishes were cooked to perfection, and the sauces were rich and savory. We couldn't resist indulging in their delectable tiramisu for dessert, which was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive. We left feeling satisfied and already planning our next visit.

Hate to leave a negative review but this place is really average. Apparently it’s changed management. I went with some friends who have been a number of times before and they have said it has really gone downhill. We got the mushroom risotto, veal, and prawn pasta. All quite bland and basic, and tasted like something you could buy from the supermarket. Our server also seemed very grumpy and was stood watching us the entire time we were there.

Incredible couldn't recommend enough

My mother in law and I went out to what we hoped would be a lovely lunch at our local Italian restaurant, which I hadn’t been to in years. As soon as we stepped in the door, I knew we’d made a mistake! The waiter made no effort at all to welcome us and his poor demeanor throughout our lunch. The beef carpaccio and fried zuchinni were good, although the basket of bread we also asked for was stale and inedible. Our lunch culminated in our waiter telling us that he was closing in 5 minutes, so we quickly sipped our coffee and left at 2:30 pm……

The owner seems nice but the waitress was rude. The tables are too close together. Wouldn’t go here again.

Great food and prompt service. Really love the food. But unhappy about added service charge without asking us... I'm not sure if this is normal practice in London. Never experienced it earlier...

Very disappointed with this restaurant since the new management has come in, we’ve used this place for many years for birthdays and a Friday I had a table booked for 11 people when we arrived I gave in my sons birthday cake to be told they wanted to charge me £15 to light it, this I found absolutely terrible never in the whole time we’ve used it have they asked for this, the couple who always run the restaurant were there and I felt they looked very upset, the new manager was very rude telling me I had to pay for the cake to be lit as we are using there plates and cutlery I’ve never heard this in any restaurant and told him I will not be staying he then tried to say he won’t charge me this time but next time we have to pay so i decided to take my 11 guest else where and we all left. The new Managerment is awful and I would NOT recommend anyone go with large groups to celebrate any birthday with your own cake as they want to charge you on top of the large amount that the bill would of been. Very upset and fell very sorry for the couple who run this restaurant as they will loose so many regular customers.

Such a beautiful place, I visited for my birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my day was extra special. The food is delicious and the staff are polite and welcoming.

Went for the first time last night, and the welcome was friendly. The staff were wonderful, and the food was served fresh, clean and hot. The food tasted lovely and the place was very clean. Definitely go there again.

Always amazing food and service here, we have been coming for maybe 25 years, and it has never failed us. Nice recently modernization, but still same friendly staff and excellent food and wine menu. Highly recommended

Always a warm welcome. Very popular restaurant and it's recommended you book in advance to get a favourite table or area in which to eat. A typical Italian menu with exciting Specials that are shown on the blackboards. Freshly cooked and always a delight to behold. Friendly staff and easy going atmosphere

Delicious food, efficient and friendly service, we will definitely be back. Goat’s cheese salad starter and spinach and ricotta ravioli were excellent, chicken milanese was ok but could be improved.

My boyfriend and I found this restaurant by accident and it was a success! We really enjoyed the pasta, mine with shrimp was 10/10. The prices are democratic, and the service is very pleasant. The spirit of Italy is here.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good atmosphere. The issues on this occasion were with the food. My linguine was slightly undercooked (not al dente) and was a little bit dry, squid was rubbery and 3 of the shellfish in the dish did not open during the cooking process which isn't ideal. It was still edible but loads of room for improvement. They were also out of bread and a few desserts on the menu which on a Friday evening at 8pm not great. The zucchini fritti was a very good side dish. Good portion. Overall though it was an enjoyable visit and would give them another try to see if other dishes can be redeeming.

I just been on my first date (22/03) with girl who I met online. We ordered two lasagnas, and it’s was delicious. In the end we decided to split the bill. However, waitress who served us decided that I should pay the full bill (her quote was : this restaurant no women should pay bill) which I find it bizarre! I have no issue of paying, but it made me very uncomfortable not knowing our circumstances. Please do not do this again to any other customers who visit your restaurant. because it’s very unprofessional.

We’ve just moved the local area and can’t believe our luck. This restaurant is everything you want for a perfect dinner setting. Food was delicious and staff were lovely. Will be returning! If I could change one thing I would love some authentic Italian music in the background x

Enjoyed the pasta dish. Bruschetta with tomatoes was inedible as tomatoes were VERY salty. The real surprise was paying £1 for a glass of tap water which appeared on the bill as misc drinks!!! Who charges for tap water?! I will not be going back.

We had crab arancini, charcuterie board and monkfish rigatoni. Absolutely delicious food, friendly attentive service and an amazing coffee to finish. The tomato sauce on the rigatoni in particular was spectacular and addictive though its so simple.

I’ve to this restaurant more than 5 times in less than a year - which is quite a lote for me tbh. They are always super friendly and so warm! Even when they’re busy, the service is always great, food arrives pretty quickly, and more importantly SO SO delicious! I would *HIGHLY* recommend and, as mentioned above, I am definitely coming back

Obviously they wanted to finish the day and started to collect plates rude and noisy. They asked us to pay a bill of nearly £100 in cash. That was ridiculous.

This is a very nice Italian restaurant, it makes you feel you are not in London (which I like a lot). The food is tasty and the restaurant is very cozy and beautiful. Definitely worth the time and every penny.

I was in this restaurant with my wife last night and this middle aged woman who works there was so rude too me and my wife slamming a bottle of water on our table and was very cheeky , she shouldn’t have a job working in a place like that , very nasty and horrible woman

Went in the restaurant and left virtually immediately because of a waitresse's attitude. She was so abrupt and rude, slammed a bottle of water on the table and made me feel totally unwelcome. I got up and left immediately, I will never go to this restaurant again as the customer service was horrific.

Great food and friendly service

A tiny gorgeous Italian place that you could easily miss among traffic on Battersea Park Road. However, it's worth it for its welcoming atmosphere that takes your imagination to places like the picturesque Sorrento. I will spare a commentary on taste of food as Italian cannot easily go wrong if you know the art – so for a great majority of people it will be tasty and satisfactory – and the selection covers both the North and the South of the country. But what I liked the most was actually the way things work there: Come my iner child excitement when receiving a heavy sprinkle of parmigiano reggiano, or pepper. The hearty approach to serving by the (I suppose?) owners. The subtle light-jade tiling with imperfections that makes you feel like sitting outdoors on a sunkissed piazza. And, on top of this, the dessert menu with a variety of salivating classics. I guess if you're like me, you dine out for experience – and this I have found here, hence 5 stars from me.

It’s one of those places you would not notice especially if walking past, but everything they do, they do very well. You can go to many many more expensive places and not have better pasta then they make here
