Lanika Restaurant in Calderdale

If I could give them a zero I would. Honestly I do not even know where to start. The customer service was terrible. The food was raw and the cleanliness was horrid. I found a hair in my food and the told one of the staff member who said "omds these people". Honestly that comment was the last straw. So, me and my family paid and left. I go out quite often however this is THE worst experience I've had in a while. If you what good food is this is not the place. I do not know how people come here.

Different prices depending on day of the week and age of children. Plenty of choice of food and ice cream. They only do bottled water, not tap, which I’m not sure is legal. Soft drinks are available and you can bring your own alcohol. Food was decent.

Look this place is not what it seems they give you 5 star reviews but the food is disgusting and cold I'm saying this with a stomach ache

Been to lanika first time today with family everything was perfect really enjoyed 10/10!!

Food was very delicious and was freshly cooked. The lamb chops, seekh kebabs were to die for. The mains were tasty as well. Was pleasantly surprised by the mushroom curry, simply wow. The atmosphere within the restaurant was pleasant with friendly staff who greeted us with a smile. Extremely kid friendly. Will definitely be coming again

My Mehndi night was held here and everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing. They took care of every detail, took all the pressure off us and were very accommodating. Hashim was very helpful and easily reachable throughout the planning process and was personally present throughout to assist with the smooth running of the event. The food was delicious and served piping hot. The service was very efficient by all the staff on the day. The venue itself is very beautiful and spacious and perfect for events. Would 100% consider Lanikas to hold further events!!

I had my Mehndi at Lanika not so long ago and I am very impressed. The food was 10/10 was and the staff there are very kind. Would 100% recommend if anyone is finding a place to have a birthday party or wedding, even if you’re just looking for a place to eat then Lanika is the best place for this. I also wanted to say a big thank you to the manager he has been very helpful and kind.

Credit where it's due, best buffet I've been to and I've been to a few. Selection is more limited compared to others but the quality here is on a different level . Thumbs up from me

Great food. I tried almost everything and it was cooked to perfection. Normally the food items in buffet style service go a bit soggy. But it wasn’t the case here. The food was fresh. Tasted really good. Especially the lamb chops were too good. I think the staff needs a bit of more training. Also, the the guy at the reception looked like he was asked to sit there as a punishment. A little politeness would be nice.

I'm not usually a buffet kind of guy but I've been here twice now and it's terrific. Food is so tasty and fresh (ok one of the times I went at 5pm and the other 7:30 I think). Good options for kids too and the Asian style Pizza was a good surprise!

Just been here tonight family of 4. The food was lovely and tasty aswell. A vast selection and desserts were nice also. Overall a nice evening and staff are always on hand. PS. the mango & coconut ice cream was spot on !! ** 4/5

Can’t fault them! Travelled up to Halifax, found this place on Google maps, and glad I did, food was delicious, staff were great, friendly and all round great customer service! Highly recommended!!

Lovely little place in Halifax. Food was excellent! Friendly and attentive staff. Great atmosphere. Car park a but small but plenty of on street free parking nearby. Will definitely return again!

Best restaurant I’ve ever seen or been to large buffet perfect

I am absolutely appalled by the service of this establishment! The boss’s son has no manners what so and has no regard for the care and the safety of its customers! He was rude to me and my whole family!! Didn’t apologise for ruining our meal and his racist comments were very disturbing! Would not recommend for anyone to visit this place!!

Lanika's was a great experience for me and my family, the food were brilliant and the service was amazing. I was helped by a lovely young lad called Zavyaar, he was extremely polite and extremely helpful. He helped my kids choose between the variety of food options available and he was just very polite as a whole. Would definitely recommend and will definitely come again!

Came to the restaurant today from out of town as a friend had recommended it there. The food was lovely and the customer service could not be faulted. Was waitered by a young man called zavyaar who ensured me and my family were satisfied at all times. The food and the service in particular made for a very pleasant experience I will be sure to visit again soon.

Absolutely lovely day out today. Had a great service from a waiter by the name Zavyaar. Very polite lad and made sure me and my whole family was checked up on every so often. Served us with kindness and care making sure the customers got the best possible service he could offer. Food was also great would definitely recommend there lamb chops. The food was brilliant! And the service was very good aswell. A young man called Zavyar was serving me. He was very polite and friendly. He took my order and was keen to make sure I had everything I needed. The best waiter I’ve seen!

Very small selection of food, the food we did have was under average. 5 choices of curry not worth £22 a person. Ice cream was the nicest part.

Staff were great. Not the best selection of food. Disabled access is a joke had to wait outside in rain for 10mins for someone with a key to arrive

So... when i arrived at 4:45 i was told the buffet wouldnt be ready for atleast 25 mins. When it was ready i was dissapointed at the variety for the price as ive heard a lot about this place. But the starters where decent enough choice of curries was a let down but the over all taste was quiet nice. Also most of the starters was just warm. The chops was the coldest ive eaten but nice flavour chicken rice was nice but the overall experience was a bit of a let down i probably wont be back in a hurry

Would never dine here again… had the worst experience ever at this buffet how can you call yourself a buffet but don’t have any food out? Not just me but multiple other customers waiting with plates in our hands for food that’s not there surely as a buffet you would expect it to be constantly topped up unfortunately this was not the case as not just myself but many other people were asking and complaining about the same issue… This message is directly for the waiter IMRAN I just want to say if you stand there with a dog face on whenever someone asks your for something and then walk away ignorantly without giving a response then maybe you should evaluate whether you are in the right job or not. I had asked 3 times to Imran about the food and each time he looked at me and gave me a dirty facial expression and then proceeded to walk away how rude! I will never be coming back here again and I don’t recommend anyone else coming here either so long as the customer service is atrocious here you will keep losing customers. Please avoid this place at all costs.

Very nice buffet style venue for private gatherings. They have a nice sized upstairs for parties. Food is a good selection. Mashallah

We were invited by a group of friends for some gathering and dinner at this place. The service was to slow and the food was of very normal quality and as this is a buffet only restaurant the variety of food is bare minimum and I found the dishes of food were mainly empty and there was cold food served plus you need to ask them to refill the food items on the buffet menu so a very show service overall. Not impressed by their service or good overall. I wouldn’t recommend or suggest this place so save your time and money and avoid this place.

When a friend and I walked in, we were pleasantly greeted and were seated. It turns out the gentleman with the impressive moustache was the manager. In summary the food is excellent. Like home cooked food. All classics of the Punjabi Indian/ Pakistani cooking. There were several starter options. Honestly, I could easily just get full on the starters. I had some mains (chicken pilau rice, chicken curry and a couple of nan). I had to leave space for pudding. The cake and custard was amazing! I was too busy eating to take photos and I didn't get to sample most of the main dishes. No doubt I'll be back for more! Highly recommended for the filling, quality food with excellent homely hospitality. Ask for the 7up & J2O mix... You can thank me now.

I'm from duncaster and heard a lot about Lanica restaurant , the food here is amazing and the price is reasonable, I will tell people to give it a try.

No Service at all. Had to ask for drinks, no menu either. Food- starters were good till I had some chicken tikka and it wasn't cooked inside. Mains, if you like chicken this is the place for you. Plenty of chicken but that's about it. Almost all the currys were on the bone. (Not for me) rice well done. Dessert- Nice selection of ice creams. Not worth £22. Such a shame as I had high hopes for this place.

Great buffet restaurant food is always warm and fresh multiple starters and mains and dessert options available also they do birthday bookings and wedding bookings aswell so if you're looking for a dine in or take away or you're booking a birthday party or wedding function they can accommodate and you won't be disappointed

First time I've been and really enjoyed it. Not the biggest selection I've seen at a buffet but the quality was really good. I actually prefer that they don't have a ton of each dish sitting out so its generally only fresh when it's available. Price is slightly on the high side at the weekend but i think that's reflected in the food. Lamb chops are fantastic.

We really enjoyed dining at the buffet as all the food was so tasty. I can’t really fault any of the food, the lamb chops, fish and lamb Karahi were the best items on the menu. Hashim provided excellent service, checking on us regularly to see if we needed anything.

Nice authentic pakistani food and great service.

Starting off with the service and atmosphere it was great. The parking is free and very safe aswell. The food was very nice especially the lamb chops and seekh kebab also the chicken korma handi was very nice as it was sweet and juicy. The lamb chops were tasty succulent and tender and bite after bite they were doing the WEE WOO WEE WOO AHAHA 😂 The only reason this place is getting an overall 4* is because the desert option was not worth the price as there was no gulab jamun kheer or ras Malai etc. They only had gajar halwa and custard cake. Ice cream menu is great as they have a lot of flavours. One thing I would like the restaurant to do is to make a bigger variety in the desert section other than that 👍🙂

So we had an event at lanikas and got a stage done on one side the owners of the place had moved it to the other side so they were able to serve properly. The services was rubbish and the stage was ruined. The owner has too much arrogance.

Can’t understand some of these negative reviews on here, people need to try for themselves.. the food and service are quality for the price you’re paying. Places like this are brilliant at be cause they’re not hyped up, just good honest food 👍🏻

Myself & one other member went on Wednesday May 31st 2023 and we were not disappointed. The food was very tasty and there was a wide choice of dishes & sweets. The staff were friendly & helpful. We will be returning in the not too distant future.

Had really bad experience over here, not worth the money, avoid at all costs.

First visit, found the kids prices a bit high given they hardly ate anything. However, the food and staff were really nice and we’ll definitely be calling again, maybe without the kids😆
