Nice cozy place, had a really lovely coffee

Didn’t like it here at all, there’s much better places to go in Seaford and spend your money. Tables and chairs were filthy with spilt milk over them. Had a cappuccino, which literally just tasted of hot milk, I went for a spinach and feta pastry. There was hardly any feta in there and the pastry was so hard. I couldn’t even cut into it, It was also extremely dry and just disgusting. I then got a sausage roll instead because I couldn’t eat the spinach and feta pastry. Then could not cut into the bottom of the sausage roll with my knife and couldn’t even bite into it. It hurt my tooth. It was so hard and so dry. Didn’t actually taste that bad, but it was just extremely hard. Left 3/4 of it and paid £20 for 2 pastries and two coffees.

Good produce and presented well.service is efficient and friendly. Will definitely use again.

Great spot for breakfast. I had a very nice full English and iced latte, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The cafe itself is very aesthetically pleasing with great interior, but unfortunately still very backward as they don’t have vegan options. It’s 2024 I get that you are based in Seaford but times have changed so maybe you should consider having an option for everyone.

Dry sandwiches with fatty bacon. Not good. Tea ok though

I came back again with my friend yesterday. We tried Egg Florentine (VG) and Soup of the Day. Both are fantastic! I love the staff, who are friendly and lovely!

Lovely place to go for brunch , or sit in on a work break! Food was great , Service was Great, All Great! Had an absolutely wonderful time, Would definitely come again, also would 100% recommend.

The lanes in a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a drink and food from their there diverse menu with different specials. All the girls in there were lovely and attentive servers. Very pleased, we definitely be coming back again very soon!!

Very rude staff. Waited nearly 10 minutes for a menu, another 10 minutes for coffees, and then an additional 30 minutes for food to arrive. Specifically asked for eggs to be fully cooked, and they came out uncooked on the inside. Upon complaining, the assistant manager just kept repeating "that's ok" without saying sorry. No sauces offered with other meal which was dry, unbutterd roll and overcooked. No apology offered upon paying, for taking 40 minutes to serve undercooked inedible eggs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

With 3 staff meandering slowly around and chatting while customers tried to get attention, we waited at our unwiped table and eventually went up to try to get menus, then up again to try to order coffee. We saw 3 separate tables get half their meals and wait a while for the rest, so we had an idea it was not going to be great. After a full 50 minutes, my meal arrived with raw egg whites in the meal, I had explicitly asked the waitress to ensure the egg was cooked through. Rather than apologise or try to rectify it, waitress Jasmine (according to our till receipt) smirked unpleasantly and said "It's OK" at it being sent back. Obviously we won't go again, we would strongly advise that anyone else avoids it too.

Everything we ordered tasted great - Welsh Rarebit and Eggs Benedict, with a side of very high quality fresh and hot chips. Relaxed atmosphere.

Waited for 1,5 hour, cause they forgot our order. The tables next to us left because their meat was raw

Disappointing visit today. Tables not clean, nether was floor. Coffee tasted as though milk was sour , cake not the best in Seaford as proclaimed! Appears to have deteriorated since previous visit. Perhaps staffing is a problem?

Lovely cafe that I began to visit before I moved to Sussex and have continued to pop in to. Delicious food prepared on site, and cakes made in their own bakery! Incredible specials such as Korean fried chicken, and Mediterranean style chicken kebabs. Great vegetarian options too. There’s something for everyone!

Super cosy spot, had a lovely morning here chatting with colleagues. Felt warm and welcoming with super drinks.

Nice cafe being here several times. The staff are always friendly and I quite like the decor especially the tamden bicycle hanging from the ceiling.

Nothing to write home about . Had 2coffees and 2 scones . Got over charged had to go back and question it

We stopped for coffee today after a blowy walk. I ordered at the service desk and waited for ages for our order of 2 coffees an 2 scones to arrive. The coffee was hot and strong and no problem there but the scones had been clearly warmed in a microwave probably because they were stale. They were crumbly and soggy. We sat in a back room where there was more space and I wondered as I sat there whether the owner of the cafe ever thought about dealing with the peeling wallpaper and dismal atmosphere. And don’t get me started on the toilet… come on - you need to put a bit of effort and care into your food and place.. not sure we shall be returning. At £11.60 I think this was not good value nor a pleasant visit.

I popped in for a cup of tea and a cake and found it a great place to visit. Friendly helpful staff. The lemon crumble was fabulous. Will definitely be returning.

Usually a lovely spot to stop but staff seemed very clueless or inexperienced, poor service, dropping things, took ages to bring cakes, sold us something that had run out. Sat for ages before order was taken, stood for ages at till before being acknowledged. A real shame compared to precious visits prior to this month.

A superb cafe with one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had.

Intimate, very busy unsurprisingly, as the food and service are very good .. we booked, the table was ready for us, so no waiting ..

Wonderful meal Saturday evening! Smoked burrata, followed by superb bream. All cooked to perfection. Very good choice of fish which can be hard to find in Seaford! Highly recommend that you give this restaurant a try one evening!

My partner and I love this cafe. We have been a few times and we have always enjoyed the experience. The staff are very friendly, the food is tasty and the portions are large.

Arty cafe tucked away just off the main road. Friendly welcoming team. Art Wave was on when we visited, amazing prints, sculptures and photographs. Very Dog friendly.

I have been going to the Lanes Cafe every week for a year now and despite recently having a massive change around in staff, I still love this cafe wholeheartedly. The food is always top notch, leaving me full and content and my coffee is always perfect. The staff are friendly and always help make sure my baby and I are well looked after. The atmosphere is wonderful and even the customers are chatty and friendly. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a bite to eat or even just a quick coffee and cake in Seaford!

We were a reasonably large group but managed to be seated together despite the heatwave crowds in the town. Food like the sausage sandwiches, was that little bit different, 'a cut above ' the normal as one of our guys put it & the pasties were homemade. Great staff and never got flustered even with our resident caffeine addict desperate for her tea. Top marks guys; we'll be back.

A very nice coffee shop, but only appearance, unfortunately. Tasty brunch and good selection but quite overpriced and portions are very tiny. 1 egg was served as 2 (divided for 2 toasts)…. English breakfast a baby size. Disappointed as in decade have not had bad experience with English breakfast anywhere across country. And on top of everything - very poor service, no further comments. Sometimes you might have not a great experience with meal as it’s up to expectations and experience but service and team always make the difference, by just being polite and make the atmosphere. Unlike in this case just ruin everything even more with its negligence and unwelcoming mood. Such a shame as it is cozy and characteristic place for a cup of coffee or a meal.

Popped in for a quick coffee and we were not disappointed. Our children enjoyed their babychinos.Quick, friendly service from the staff and large cup sizes. The food looked great and the sausage rolls were very popular. Loved the interesting decor.

Lovely giant sausage roll and a generous serving of really crispy piping hot chips . My wife had the hummus and rocket ciabatta with coleslaw and small salad . Delicious all round Coffee excellent and the pot of tea contained two teabags which gave two good strong cups of tea. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

We’ve just visited for the first time for brunch . I would highly recommend a visit . Really tasty food, nicely presented and most of its homemade . When we enquired about the whereabouts the food was sourced the manager came and and spoke to us .

It was a lovely atmosphere when we both walked in, we sat down at a table. After a couple of mins, a lady asked if we would like to order. This we did, the drinks came first and around 5 mins later then cooked food came. It was lush as my boy's used to say we couldn't fault it. What so ever. Kim had the bubble and squeak with bacon, I had the bacon roll.

Food was very good, however the service was a bit slow.

Nice cafe , with a sunny courtyard and fabulous staff , who are friendly and bubbly and very welcoming. Excellent coffee and nice sandwiches and good value. Looking forward to the roof terrace opening.

My daughter lives in Seaford and she recommended this little cafe/restaurant. The food was good (hot dog roll) and a pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely go there again.

My breakfast of fried eggs tomatoes and bubble and squeak came out and looked perfect ...but the bubble was cold so I told the waitress and she was great very apologetic at took it back to be sorted ... it came back over 5 mins later and was much hotter ..but the same eggs and tomatoes came back the eggs were like rubber and the tomatoes were cold and shriveled up ...

Enjoyed lunch here, had the bubble and squeek. Cappuccino was of good quality and tasted really nice. Atmosphere was good, nice and busy. Only niggle, portions are small for the price.

Great cafe/restaurant set back from a busy shopping centre. They make their own cakes which were really good. The coffee we had was very nice too. It was extremely full so service was a little slow but the place is nicely decorated with loads of paintings or photos to look at!!

Oh dear oh dear, what on earth has gone wrong! 20 to 25 mins just for a coffee. Several people had placed orders but left before drinks were received. Food was tasty when we did receive, do not have the Cheese on toast, firstly a long wait and then not even a complete slice of bread??? By all means, visit, take a book!

Sunday morning they were rushed off their feet, a wait for food and drinks and it was only ok when it arrived.

Came here for the first time today - such a hidden gem in Seaford with lovely food and very good pricing! The cafe had a very nice atmosphere as well and all of the servers and staff were cheerful and friendly. Will definitely be coming back for lunch/brunch/cake and coffee and am not surprised at how popular it seems to be getting!

Came across this place by chance as we didn't know that the hardware shop that used to be here had gone. We popped in for lunch, as we saw that they were dog friendly. The staff were very welcoming and we sat at the far back of the cafe. There was a nice buzz to the place and although a limited menu, the food and coffee were excellent and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

What a great find! This amazing little cafe, rammed full of home made produce, gentle background music, and the chatter of happy customers comes highly recommended by me! We came for breakfast and had a full breakfast stack with bubble, and lovely coffee. The staff are lovely.

Popped in at the midway point of a long walk and received a lovely warm welcome. Left with a couple of delicious sandwiches and pastries, as well as much needed cup of tea, all to enjoy on the nearby beach. Hoping to move to Seaford in the future, and very much looking forward to making Lanes a regular haunt!

Visited today ,lovely staff and pleasant surroundings . Dogs welcome too! enjoyed a nice lunch which was a sausage and onion ciabatta which came with a side salad . Our dog was treated to a sausage snack by the lovely young lady member of staff .looking forward to our next visit .Thankyou

Absolutely loved the feta and spinach pie! So good it was that I am sitting in their outdoor/stone garden area and writing this review. My girlfriend just said ," I want to stay here forever", as I type this. Whether we will be together in the next few years or not, I hope this place survives and gets better. I look forward to come here in another 5 years, causing a trip from India is expensive 😅. The wait was worth it. Staff was friendly as hell. Not a good comparison but yeah, that's that. P.S. The flat whites were on the house, cause the order was delayed. Cherry on the cake, I suppose.

Beautiful restaurant, I adored everything. Food was delicious and the female staff were very friendly as was the owner. Super cool that it is dog friendly too. There is a stunning sunny courtyard out the back, which is a little hidden gem. 10/10 would recommend to definitely pay a visit.

Sausage sandwich was to die for.. complemented the chef and he said they came from Kent. Great huge restaurant, and nice outdoor seating area to the rear. It's a little bit on the high side, price wise, but quality is worth it, and it ain't that expensive..

Lovely restaurant, the toilets were spotless as was the rest of the restaurant. The staff were polite and welcoming and the owner was also very friendly. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was awesome I would definitely recommend going to to the lanes I had a great experience.

Love this place! The LANES' homemade cakes are delicious, the coffee sublime. The decor is quirky (there's even a vintage tandem bike on the ceiling?!). The vibe is friendly and very chilled. The place is comfy, clean, and dog-friendly with indoor and outdoor seating (a courtyard at the back), plus they do takeaways - perfect for the beach which is a few minutes away. A most welcome new addition to Seaford town.

I would like to say that I was impressed by the decor as I entered. Very impressed by how clean all the premisses are. Our waitress was outstanding, very friendly, warm and welcoming. If the other staff were as professional, I think the cafe would be much busier. I understand that we can all have a bad day, and disagreements happen. It was unfortunate to hear two members of staff having a heated argument, which only stopped when our very professional waitress had a word. I hope these staffing issues will be smoothed out. And the tall, dark haired man, learn's some customer service skills. As the customer I was made to feel that he didn't want us there, and couldn't wait for us to leave, so the argument could resume.

I had a great time eating delicious food at your restaurant. The waitresses were committed to great service and were very friendly. The atmosphere was awesome.

Firstly the pros of this lovely looking cafe: The female waiting staff were really friendly, very hospitable and the service was extremely efficient. The cafe it’s self is really attractive, with lots of seating and bonus being that it’s dog-friendly. Toilets were spotless. Cons: We came in for breakfast at 10.30am, but left after having by only a coffee as there are no breakfast items on the menu (apart from granola yoghurt) and pasties/meatballs/cream teas were not what we would generally chose to eat before lunch. The tall dark haired chap was bickering with a Lady in the kitchen, which we overheard. His manner is curt & abrasive, when he briefly asked what we had ordered to eat (we hadn’t), his manner is very off putting. The cafe will thrive if it offers more variety on the morning menu and if the male member of staff improves his customer service skills. It’s in a brilliant setting, the dining areas are lovely, but most definitely needs some tweaks to stand out. Best of luck to you and we will come back to see if the menu has broadened.
