Go and treat yourself to the tasting menu, you won’t be disappointed! The atmosphere is fab too as the restaurant only has a few covers making it feel extra special!

Review below from my first visit 3 years ago. Just been for my second visit. This is still the best food I have eaten ever, anywhere. Absolutely amazing. This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It is some of the best food I have ever eaten, on a par with Gordon Ramsey and Ottolenghi. It is not good despite being vegan, or because it is vegan, it is just in absolute terms delicious. The restaurant is small and the two chefs can be seen cooking away at the back of the dining room. The food is served in beautiful Nouvelle Cuisine style and explained by two very knowledgeable waitresses. We also went with the wine pairings for each course which were excellent choices. If all veggie food tasted this good getting people to reduce their meat consumption would be a doddle. These guys need write a book, be training young chefs and get famous! If I had one suggestion for improvement it would be to offer an option for the wine pairings where you only have 100ml or even 70ml per glass. 125ml per course is more than some people would want.

The atmosphere feels cosy as the place is quite small, decoration is quite simple but it fits well the theme and looks sophisticated. The service is impeccable. As for the food, we tried their set menu. It’s definitely a worthwhile experience but I wasn’t swept off my feet by everything. The desserts were a faux-pas for me. Overall I would definitely recommend it for the experience still.

As a chef and meat eater for over many yrs I was surprised and impressed with the chefs dishes and restaurant service. Every serious chef and foodie must try it once ! K Davies

The food was excellent and very good value for money, with the wine pairing working perfectly—definitely worth a visit in that regard. However, a couple of things could be improved. First, please consider adding a curtain around the entrance, as the cold air hits you every time the door opens. This is common practice across Europe and would make a big difference. Secondly, and most disappointing, was being rushed out after the meal. I was enjoying a digestif and relaxing after a great meal, but we were hurried out to make room for the next seating. This wasn't just us—everyone seemed to be rushed. It would be much better to adjust the course timings instead of simply apologising and saying another group is coming in. Lastly, the space felt a bit cramped with two or three too many tables, which made the atmosphere feel less personal. Despite these points, the meal itself was fantastic.

I came here for a surprise dinner with my boyfriend. I was blown away by how delicious the food was. We paired our meal with tasting wines which complimented the food amazingly. Our waiter Nick was lovely and looked after us so well. All the staff were incredible. I am looking forward to returning. Even my boyfriend is not vegan can not wait to return. :)

An intimate restaurant that serves only plant-based foods. We had the tasting menu with paired cocktails, which were wonderful. They also do wine and non-alcoholic cocktail pairings. The service was top class and the views of the kitchen were great. A perfect restaurant for a special occasion in central Birmingham.

I’ve been here three times now and it gets better each time. Really delicious, thoughtful menus that vegans and meat eaters would enjoy equally. The staff are very attentive and explain what each dish is. The price is cheaper than other similar places in Birmingham and as a vegetarian I enjoy Land much more. A real treat to come here, highly recommend.

I’m a carnivore. I’ve had some wonderful meals in my life, but very rarely does a meat- or dairy-based meal amaze me. To sample any tasting menu where every dish astounds and delights is impressive. That every one was vegan is remarkable. Add to that great service and stunning value for money, and you have something very special. There was only one tiny mis-step, and I’m not even going to say what it was, as my co-diners thought the dish was great.

What an incredible experience… The tasting menu was as good as any anywhere… Jay Rayner was right when he referred to the food and experience as thrilling. The wine pairing was awesome and the wonderful female sommelier really knew her stuff. Chris our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Brilliant. 🤩

What a lovely evening out at this restaurant, very intimate and relaxed atmosphere, wanted to try it although we are not vegan or vegetarian as I find it is inspiring, How tasty you can make these dishes without meat. Next time we will possibly try the wine pairing also .

Very impressed with the amazing food as a meat eater but I went with an open mind to the plant based menu. Portions for the tasting menu were just right. The service was absolutely brilliant, serving the ladies first never leaning over the table, explaining each dish as it was served. Definitely will be returning for the new menu.

Experience exquisite flavours in a calm, quaint, and relaxed environment. Land offered us a beautiful 6 course VEGAN menu which was always going to attract new. As my first Michelin restaurant, Land changed my culinary experience forever. For my birthday, I was treated to Land to be a new experience. You have a choice of 6 or 4 courses. If you're used to a Prezzo or Nandos' then this seemed very odd. How can I fit 4 courses in? And why does it take 3.5 hours? Each course is but a few bites, bought out in perfect timing. Each course features an incredibly flavour rich food that demands attention. To top this off, cocktails and mocktails are offered that are designed to compliment the courses - which they certainly did To conclude, Land was my first venture to true high dining. Dishes that trigger different tastes with each bite and service that was meticulously refined and pleasant. This was a very successful experience that I now crave

Land make the most incredible vegan food. I can understand someone's hesitation if they've never had a tasting menu before but I'd advise everyone to give it a go, it's always an adventure for your palette.

Visited Land Restaurant Birmingham May 2024 I'd been excited to visit Land Restaurant for a while, but had always struggled to find a suitable date and time with the limited opening hours. Food quality is excellent. All natural food makes for a delightful experience. Good choice of drinks too. We went for the tasting menu which had a good mix of foods and styles. Overall a very good experience and a lot better than other top rated high end restaurants in Birmingham which offer vegan tasting menus. What I would say is make sure you don't have a time limit if you go for the tasting menu as we were there for a few hours, but it wasn't an issue as it only helped provide more time to make our way through the cocktail menu. Highly rated for an experience.

My husband and I ate dinner here last week. The experience was not great as we had expected. The portion for all courses were extremely small and not worth that price. We were on the short menu with four courses. The drinks were overpriced and did not really make sense. Just one mocktail (non-alcoholic) is 16 pound as I have not seen this price anywhere and it was like mango juice. Additionally, you have to do a prepayment for the full menu and service charge which is odd. How can you pay a service charge beforehand without being served anything? So I do not recommend this place.

Third time attending Land. Went for an anniversary meal this time and booked and ate 4 courses. Unfortunately was rushed throughout the meal as a table was booked after us. Not what you expect at an establishment like Land. Generally the food was good with a few courses which were fantastic and a few which were below par. Take home message - do not book the 4 course because you'll be rushed throughout and not enjoy it.

I really wonderful experience. We had the shorter chefs menu and a fabulous cocktail to start with. The sauces, textures and ingredients were amazing. The service was fabulous and very informative and friendly Is it?

I enjoyed the experience, it lasted around 2 hours so we didn't feel rushed at all. The food was all done perfectly although i felt the sourdough is a bit overcooked.There was two 'snacks' at the start and also petit fours at the end. The cocktail pairings were creative and i enjoyed all of them. Staff were very attentive

The customer service is outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff. Don't be deterred by the need to pre-book; it's a testament to their popularity. Definitely worth a visit for anyone seeking a memorable plant-based meal in Birmingham!

Outstandingly good cooking, delicate and delicious.

10/10 dinner. Reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food we were given. Staff were brilliant and very intuitive throughout the evening. Menu was really special and each course was something new, fresh, delicious and lovely portions as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves food and trying new things. Wine was delicious as well. Staff were also helpful to give us more detailed allergy advice and any info regarding the food we’ve asked.

Amazing from start to finish. Staff know their stuff from pairing wine with each course and explaining all about it's origin and how it's made. The food was next level.

Highly recommended by friends. We went for a special birthday and it was fantastic. The staff were incredibly attentive. We didn't want to go for the wine pairing menu so asked what bottle they'd recommend to go for to pair with the menu as a whole and their suggestion of the Brunia Semillon was excellent. The food was excellent as you'd expect from a tasting menu. The potato course (essentially gnocchi) was our favourite with the wild garlic and mushrooms.

Sublime food and drinks accompanied with attentive service. The whole experience was an utter delight!

The food was amazing, the service was pleasant and special. A highly recommended vegetarian fine dining experience in a small, cosy restaurant. The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable. They explained the dishes in detail and were able to answer any questions. Not to mention the amazing wine selection.... My only criticism (and therefore 4 stars) is the burnt bread. I don't understand it at all. If you want to serve a slightly bitter bread, find one with a thicker crust, or a dark rye bread, but why burn it? It seems like a gimmick that adds nothing to the flavour.

Flavoursome dining experience and attentive/kind staff. We really enjoyed our evening here, the food from start to finish was spectacular with interesting flavours and immaculate presentation! We ended up spending 2.5 hours in the restaurant, leaving with a huge smile on our face… worth the £.

Absolutely delightful dining experience. Visited here as a birthday treat and was blown away by the food. 8 course tasting meal with an extra little sweet treat at the end. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I thoroughly enjoyed each course, nothing I didn’t enjoy. Each course was explained by the waiter and it was also very interesting to learn that they produce very minimal waste here as they use every little bit in some way whether added into a sauce or used as a glaze. I’ve been vegan for 2 years and vegetarian for many many years and this is honestly some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Will definitely visit again. I also thought £55 for the meal was more than reasonable for the quality of food. Nice little touch to have a birthday card for me on the table too.

I visited LAND on January 13th with my husband, we both had an absolutely stunning experience from start to finish from people who clearly care about every aspect of what they do. From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the friendly, engaging and knowledgable staff who promptly take your belongings and seat you. The environment created is very relaxed; earthy decor in an intimate setting where you are aware you are having an elevated fine dining experience. We were celebrating an anniversary too which the team very kindly placed a card on our table from the staff - a thoughtful touch. We were guided through a set a menu with a few delicious surprises along the way. We were never kept waiting and as one course finished another timely began. The waiting staff and restaurant staff all working together to create what felt like a seamless experience. I am not a person who takes pictures or grabs my phone readily, however I could not resist on this occasion. The food was absolutely stunning. Every single element had been considered from texture to flavour profiles - with each dish visually being plated with the same care as it was created. There was an incredible balance across the food that was so fine at times; some elements occasionally became challenging for me in a couple of dishes, but it was new and creative - it felt exciting to keep digging in and embracing that experience. The quality of ingredients and flavour profiles were absolutely amazing, we could not wait for the next dish at each turn. My husband and I both had a pairing; myself the wine and my husband the non-alcoholic. The wines were beautiful and complimented the food perfectly, I even have something new to have at home! The real surprise was the non-alcoholic pairing though, I tried each one of my husbands and wow - absolutely fabulous. We could tell the same level and thought had gone into creating this experience as any other part of our experience which is not something we have come across. My husband has not had alcohol in 7 years and often does not get a full experience as it is rarely considered, but this was not only thought about, it was done so with knowledge and care - it was genuinely a highlight for us. I have been vegan almost 8 years now and I have began to lose my love for food in the most recent, finding it difficult to have experiences where the same level of care and passion is put into the things I want to eat as those also usually sat at the table or around me. LAND has truly ignited that love again and I cannot wait to experience the next menu. Surely a star is on the horizon? Thank you for a fantastic evening and experience.

What a lovely little place. It's definitely worth a visit!

We came to Land for a special meal after planning to visit here for quite a while, and was sadly very disappointed. The courses varied between not good and quite unpleasant. A lot of things were extremely greasy, not much had a lot of flavour and what flavour there was was not very good. Things described as ‘crisp’ instead felt soft and stale. One course tasted exclusively of onion, one of off brand pot noodle, etc. Though the dishes were presented nicely. When a member of staff asked if I was enjoying it and I said I wasn’t keen they completely belittled me with comments to the effect that I obviously didn’t understand what I was eating and it could be challenging for people not used to the kind of different flavours and textures to be expected at higher end dining. I may not be a critic, but I have eaten at multiple Michelin starred, Michelin guide and other great restaurants. I know what kind of experience to expect of the food and overall, and this fell far short. I felt very embarrassed and upset and stayed quiet for the rest of the evening. My partner ate a lot of my food as I did not like it. He did not like it much either but did not want to waste any due to the cost of it. The restaurant was very cold. I had to keep my coat on and was uncomfortable through the evening. We felt rushed, they obviously wanted the tables back quickly. The bathroom facilities were not good. We left still hungry and disappointed. We would not recommend this restaurant at all. It is not to a Michelin guide standard and there are far better vegan friendly restaurants in the area that have much more interesting tastes, textures and a more enjoyable environment.

The food was great and very good value for money and wine pairing really worked so no complaints on that front and well worth a visit. Second and most disappointing please don’t rush me out the door when I’m having my digestive. I’ve enjoyed a good meal I’m relaxing and I want to end my meal comfortably. This was not just us but everyone was rushed out to make way for the second siting . Adjust your course timings don’t simply say sorry we have our next sitting coming. And finally 2 to 3 tables too many in this small restaurant making it a little more cramped and less personal than I would have liked . Still a great meal though.

The food was creative and tasted fantastic. Everything was vegan too. Every course brought to our table was more delicious than the previous one. The staff were friendly and thoroughly explained each dish brought to our table. The interior of the restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe. I highly recommend this place for a date night or celebration. I’m not sure if they have earned any Michelin Stars, but they deserve one if not!

Second time we've visited Land, the first time was sublime and we've been really looking forward to getting back here to sample the new dishes that are changed with each season and it certainly didn't disappoint. Highly recommend

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to - and I'm not even vegan! This was the third time visiting Land and it never dissapoints! I can't wait until I come back again. Really delicious food was accompanied with the most amazing service. The door to the restaurant kept being not shut completely every time someone left, letting the cold draught in but the staff were so attentive and they closed the door every time fully which really was thoughtful as we were sat close to the door. Food usually costs £50-60 pp. We ordered a South African Pet Nat which was £60 for the bottle. Would highly recommend!

Unbelievably delicious. Every dish was tasty, creative and incredibly well matched with the wine pairing. I’m a meat eater and I loved every mouthful here. It’s really invigorated my joy for plant based food. Great service and a really interesting wine list on top - a five star dining experience.

Beautiful food - some of this dishes were spectacular, all were interesting. Service was lovely and friendly as well: But the lighting is really harsh and bright and takes away from the pleasure of dining. It’s certainly doesn’t lend itself to a romantic dinner. Hopefully they will soften the lightening as the food is amazing and the place really nice

Surprisingly amazing! I'm not vegan, nor am I veggie but this was great. Lots of skill and attention in every dish, lovely staff and pleasant surroundings.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a Vegan tasting menu. Too often I have experienced vegan chefs trying to make vegetables appear as if meat. Land doesn't do that. The chefs here celebrate plants for being plants. So many different flavours, textures and colours, each course presented with care and served with panache by the staff. Though I am not vegan, I would be persuaded to eat less meat were all vegan food as good as this. Well worth the price and worth visiting more than once; as the seasons change, the fare reflects what is available. An excellent experience!

Awesome venue, amazing food all vegan and the non alcoholic drinks package was more than worth it.

We ate there on Saturday and it was fabulous! We always go for a special occasion as for us, it never disappoints. Our favourite dish this time was the onion dashi but everything was delicious. The team are excellent and always so welcoming. We can’t wait to return.

What an excellent experience! We had the 8 course dining experience and it was just phenomenal. We’ve been vegan for 8 years now and have never eaten such imaginative, creative and delicious food before. This is another level of genius. We also enjoyed the wine pairing, which was a delightful accompaniment to each course. Would highly recommend to all so you can experience the extensive range of what can be done with just plants!! Our minds were left blown.

If you haven’t been, then you’re missing out, the food was delicious, the tantalising flavours, don’t be fooled by the small portions as you will leave there full and content! Would 100% recommend, waiters are very attentive and very provide you with the best service.

Second time dining at Land now, great to try a different menu each time depending on the season. Food is incredible, very reasonably priced for the quality and the front of house staff are attentive but not intrusive. Checked in advance, and before dining about my girlfriend’s allergy.

Edit: the restaurant called to apologise for the conversation we had on the phone. We appreciate this so thank you. ——- Didn’t make it as far as making it to the restaurant. Me and my wife wanted to have an anniversary lunch but knew we would have an 8 week old baby who she would be breastfeeding so they would need to come with us. Called to check if there would be space for a pram, only to be told that they don’t allow children in the restaurant on Saturdays?? The person on the phone was rude and abrupt (hung up without even saying bye) and said that babies and children ruin the experience for other guests. We have been to fancy restaurants before where there have been children and babies. Thank goodness we didn’t book and pay (you have to pay in advance) as they would have turned us away! Wish they’d at least been polite about it on the phone. Not good customer service at all.

Although I'm a dedicated carnivore, my visit to this vegan restaurant was a delightful surprise. I didn't miss meat at all, and the dishes served were absolutely delicious. Spending three hours there felt like a true escape from reality. I'll definitely be returning!

Not really for us! We were keen to try a vegan menu and were delighted to book Land on our recent visit to B'ham. Turned up at a pleasant, but quite laid back, venue at the 'Arcade' for a tasting menu. The dishes were wonderfully presented however many were very salty and some of the flavours & textures didn't really 'float our boat'! There was quite a gap between courses so the evening's experience was over 3 hrs, a bit unnecessarily long. I commend the technical skill of the chefs, however this wasn't really for us.

Had the 8 course tasting menu and it was incredible. I would’ve happily paid double the price (£55) as the service was faultless and the food itself was amazing. My girlfriend and I have had vegan tasting menus from Michelin star restaurants and both the service and food at Land was better! We will 100% be returning.

Visited Land for a special dinner. Only to witness one of the chefs stir a dish, then lick the spoon (whole spoon in the mouth) then carry on using the same spoon to stir and plate the food for guests. Needless to say I was disgusted. Not only is this gross, but unhygienic as well. When we shared this information with the manager we received no indication that the chef would be spoken to or anything would be done. Definitely never coming back.

The food is always incredible! We've been here several times and it always amazes us! Last time, they had a non-alcoholic pairing for the menu that we really enjoyed! One of the most consistent vegan restaurants around!

Amazing food, the tastes were superb. Staff knowledgeable and friendly even if they did speak quietly so I had to strain to hear what they said. Set 8 course tasting menu and after each one we were excited for the next and what it would taste like. Whole experience was over about 2m5 hrs.

This is a lovely small restaurant located in the great western arcade. The good: The food is amazing, unique and very tasty (big compliments to the chefs). The bad: The service was very poor, to be honest when I went there was no service at all and when you factor in the price of the food it's a little disappointing. Regardless I'd recommend you try the place out. Also portion sizes are on the smaller side and id have liked some bread to go along with some of the saucy dishes.

This restaurant exceeds all expectations, staff are so professional and warm and the food is probably the best vegan food I have ever tasted. We had the 8 course tasting menu at around £45 and my friend also has the wine flight for £45. Reasonable prices compared to some tasting menus. With the wine flight she received 6 glasses of wine (the last being a dessert wine). Wine portions were generous as she left quite tipsy haha!! My favourite has to be the sweet potato course, I have never tasted anything as good. Will definitely be back, 10/10 just amazing
