I've visited many restaurants in Paris, Rouen, Reims and Lille over the past two years including the Moulin Rouge and other hotspots. The food here and in particular the presentation and balance of flavours was superior to many of those. The Amuse bouche was mushroom with black truffle and pepper, excellent. Starter was six succulent escargot and Autumn chicken breast for the main all washed down with a glass of cabernet sauvigon. It was so good and I savoured every mouthful over the next hour. The service was better than experienced in France where waiting on is seen as a profession and not a weekend student job. Clearly someone has provided good training to the team as they knew their job without being intrusive and enhanced the dining experience. I had picked this Establishment for the night solely because of the restaurant and I was not dissapointed. The lack of Internet connection in room 16 would be annoying for many ant the TV was very small. That aside the room was comfortable, well coordinated and furnished nicely. Very clean and tidy. All staff I met were cheerful and helpful. Watch the parking on site as its somewhat haphazard with whit lines faded and confusing the hell out of you. I parked on the main road in the end as it was much easier. So in summation, if you want an excellent astronomical experience in great surroundings then book this restaurant/ hotel. The hotel us called COTFORD Hotel. I paid £99 for one night plus the cost of the meal naturally.

We were staying in the hotel and after viewing the menu we couldn't wait to dine here. The decor and setting is fitting with the character of the surroundings and the hotel itself. The menu is not too big but provides a large choice for different tastes. Definitely French in style with locally sources ingredients and everything is made inhouse. We started with the homemade beer dough bread served with home churned unsalted and marmite butter. The butters were served on a rock salt block which was simple but effective. The salt taste slightly transferred to the unsalted butter. The bread was warm and smelt as good as it tasted. We were provided with a wild mushroom soup with black truffle in cappuccino cup and saucer as an amuse bouche - this was divine - it was faultless and full of flavour. The chicken liver and cognac parfait was silky smooth and rich in flavour with an exquisite salad and puree accompaniments. We both had the beef 2 ways for main course - Fillet superbly cooked and presented along with shin of beef tartlet. The tart was fine with a slight sweetness to it but totally complemented the beef and sauces served with the main. Vegetables were simple but delightful, charred carrots, green bean and broccoli parcel and the most tasty dauphinoise potatoes. It was one of the best main courses I have had - I could have eaten it again. The food was all amazing and complemented superbly by the 2 sauces that were full of flavour and depth Dessert we shared a chocolate and honeycomb delice - smooth tasty and rich - fresh berries freshened the palette. The overall cost of he meal was more than worth it and when we are back in the area we will most definitely return. Thanks to all involved from the kitchen brigade, waiting and bar staff - as well as the local food producers.

We like the restaurant as they create a stylish yet friendly ambience accompanied by good food. Staff are well trained , polite, cheerful, helpful and efficient. Having a small kitchen there is a limited choice for the main course but there are sufficient to satisfy most palates . Lovely amuse bouche pre dinner. Starters :- tiger prawns in basket , seafood assiette , both excellent. Mains :- lamb shank , duck. Lamb shank is a dish you rarely do at home and not many restaurants have it so really enjoyable. Dessert :- creme brulee , apple + something I have forgotten crumble . Very nice crumble. Creme brulee itself very good but served not in a bowl but on an inedible disc . You can have drinks beforehand in the lounge with nice open fire. Parking can be a problem.

This was an outstandingly good meal (food and wine) and a most enjoyable, relaxing experience. The staff were friendly and skilled. The main dining-room is very attractive with a small cascade amongst rocks a few outside one of the windows. The noise-level was low (no music) and allowed a stress-free and joyful reunion dinner for the four of us.

The dining experience was top drawer and will live long in the memory. The Head Chef Chris really knows his business, as you can tell from his bio on the hotel website. The food and portions were all just right, so tasty, so many flavours, and the wine we had was tremendous. We particularly enjoyed the pudding/sweet taster selection (where you get one of everything). We loved the relaxing atmosphere of the restaurant, and all the staff were very friendly and well trained by the lovely host Barbara. Even the views from the restaurant into their sizeable garden with water feature were charming. We will definitely book here again in the future. Their two AA Rosettes, years of being Michelin Guide listed, and many prestigious culinary awards speaks for itself. Worth every penny.

We dined at the L'amuse Bouche on Thursday evening upon arrival we were disappointed that we could not go for pre dinner drinks, nibbles in the lounge as we had always done before . The owner said they had to conform the the rules!!!! (Covid)The rules are ,,,,no limit of people can enter the restaurant but she said that thats what they are doing only overnight guests are allowed in lounge. We all found this very much a contradiction when you can be seated in the restaurant along with 18t to 20 other guests eating. So what is the difference having a few pre dinner drinks in a room which is the similar size???? When you go to a restaurant that prides it self on quality food service etc etc then we expect the full treatment.Covid is hear to stay for the foreseeable . We need to move on and live with it or go out of business Anyway moan over..The food was 10/10 the service was very good although a bit hard to understand staff who are wearing masks (There Choice i presume?)we all enjoyed the food however until things relax to a normal manner we will not be returning .This is only as we spent a lot of money and did not get what we really wanted to make the evening perfect..

Well. we had a fantastic evening, very welcoming when we arrived by Barbara who owns the hotel and restaurant with her husband Chris. A small but very luxurious setting, great restaurant and contemporary bar. The service was second to none. and great choices on the menu. My wife had the cod and prawns and I had the hereford beef fillet with crab ravioli - superb all cooked exactly right. Great wine selection to match. You need to book but we had one of best dinner experiences in the area. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was there when you needed it. Chris came out of the kitchen to speak to us and all in all we will be returning. Barbara and Chris - thank you for the experience and would recommend this restaurant without doubt. I can’t recommend the amuse Bouche highly enough. We are lucky to live local to this restaurant and use them for every occasion that we can. The staff are friendly and professional, the management go out of their way to assist in any way they can. Then there is the best bit the food is absolutely amazing, I have visited on numerous occasions and have never been let down by the food or service. Our last visit was on Friday night as a joint birthday visit for myself and my mum, I had the duck egg starter which was divine followed by the lamb which I ordered medium rare. When it came it was perfectly cooked tender and very tasty. We hope to visit again very soon and look forward to seeing Barbara and all of her staff

All round a throughly underwhelming experience. The decor is certainly something. The gaudy wall paper and the hot pink ceiling are an acquired taste, but hey, horses or courses. The starters were lovely, I had soup and my partner had the duck egg. After the starters though the service really felt slow - it then took 30 mins to get a second drink in a restaurant that wasn’t even half fullWe ordered a bottle of wine and got a different one to the one that we’d ordered, but told it was “basically the same”, and that the “new wine list was coming out tomorrow”. Regardless, the wine was tremendous. The mains came, I had lamb and my partner had duck. The lamb when it arrived was rare, but still had some completely raw fat on it. I sent it back and waited about 10 mins for a new dish to arrive. It was a little disheartening for me and my partner to essentially eat separately. Full credit to the management though they apologised profusely and didn’t charge us for either of the mains - a gesture that was very much appreciated. Overall I’d struggle to recommend l’amuse as at the prices they’re charging I expected so much more. I hope that we just caught them on an off evening. We paid £80 for starters and drinks. Had we paid for the mains it would have been north of £140 - which really would have felt absurd for the quality of food and level of service.

Such a warm and welcoming place - the co-owner Barbara welcomed us and showed us to our table. Lovely linen, sparkling glass wear and a 'feel good' ambience. The menu was varied as was the vegetarian menu (for my husband). An amuse bouche to start - we had the most delicious squash foam with toasted almonds, then a starter of prawns in a white creamy sauce all nestled in a crispy basket, then beef with steaming hot veg and potatoes followed by a strawberry dessert. It was a real treat, service was spot on and the staff were really attentive. Its not to be missed and we will most certainly eat there again

Visited the Restaurant for a Birthday Meal (June 2021). Service was rather slow (perhaps it was the relaxed atmosphere?) and a complimentary aperitif of a butternut squash whip, served in a small coffee cup, looked rather like something you find on the end of a tissue. The fillet of beef was served luke-warm, but nevertheless, it was beautifully presented. The portions (yes, this is fine dining, so you don't get much anyway) were slimmer than Victoria Beckman's legs ! Having waited over 30 minutes to eventually place an order for desert, it was easy to believe, that the staff had gone off to a local fruit farm to pick the ingredients for the tart. An experience ? Absolutely yes. One to repeat ? 100% No. Now, the Hotel was spotless and looked great, but if this is fine dining, you can keep it. If you like the snobbery of spending £4 for a potato cut into six 'thick chips' or, for the same price, half a dozen cherry tomatoes you can buy at Marks & Spencer for £1.00, warmed in a pan, then you will feel well at home here. I'm no Gordon Ramsey, but to pay such a sum for what some would regard as Michelin star food, the saying: "a fool and his money are easily parted" springs to mind ! This Restaurant gave us the feel of a Basil & Sybil style set-up from Fawlty Towers, which made light entertainment of what turned out to be a rather disappointing evening. Recommended ? No. Would we return ? No. Perhaps the owners will be grateful to read. that we would not be returning (who needs customers like us ?), but the fact remains, that this was an expensive experience, not one to be repeated (at this Restaurant anyway) and this has proven a valuable lesson. All that glitters is not gold and the Restaurant is over-rated and expensive for what is delivered. So, you pay your money, you take your choice.

We hadn’t visited L’amuse Bouche since the latest lockdown, so we had fingers crossed that standards hadn’t dropped, how silly of us to even have such concerns, the food, service and experience is as good as ever and really is quite superb. We visited with friends who we have taken before and they were desperate to go back and they, like us, weren’t disappointed. A warm welcome on arrival in a Covid safe environment, with super efficient and jovial staff who really wanted you to have an enjoyable experience. The food, as ever, was sublime, I couldn’t fault one element of the meal. Unfortunately still very average. My husband and I came to eat before after a previous lock down and found the food to be below its usual standard with fish cakes and chips on the menu, but we thought we would give it another try. Should not have bothered, the food seems to have gone down hill and really dropped in standard. Two rosettes this food is not. Front of house staff were very polite and helpful but didn’t know a great deal about the food when asked. Even the bread and butter has dropped in standard, tasteless and like a stone. Petit fours were terrible and not worth the price tag. All in all a very disappointing experience and not worth the price tag. We won’t be back anytime soon unless they decide that they are going to be doing fine dining again.

Recently had another superb meal at this brilliant restaurant. Although due to COVID-19you do not get the total experience by starting off in the delightful lounge, the food is as good as ever and the delightful waiting staff help to make it an evening to remember. Our L’amuse Bouche was out of this world and we then both had a soup starter that went down a treat along with some bread that we ordered that came with a choice of two butters, one of which was marmite. Wow, yes I love marmite, but this took it to a different level, I’m definitely trying this at home. The wife had the lamb for main course, she always has the lamb, but as she enjoys it so much, why not. I tried the fish on this occasion and it was sensational. I was for once actually too full for a pud, but did share some of the wife’s and it was gorgeous. I can’t speak too highly of this restaurant as it really is that good. If you haven’t tried it, you really must, at least when lockdown is over, you really won’t regret it.Good luck to all at the Cotford, we clearly won’t be there for the wife’s birthday New Year’s Day, but we will be back once it opens once more.

We could not travel to Prague because of the virus so we automatically chose the best restaurant in this country. The virus may be a blessing for the plastics industry but it could not affect the standards of the Cotford - welcome and service as good as ever. Menu as good as ever - I had the fillet of beef which was essentially an inverted Tournedos Rossini followed by a Tarte au Citron. My wife had the belly pork followed by a chocolate mousse. Price - acceptable for the quality of the meal. Atmosphere dampened a little by the restrictions of the day. My only complaint is that we cannot visit more often because of the distance we have to travel. Still, every mile is worth it!

Sue and I ate here whilst staying in the Cotford Hotel (which includes L'amuse Bouche as its restaurant) and had a truly wonderful meal. Quite the best my wife and I have eaten for several years. All of the dishes were beautifully prepared and presented but the cooking itself was exceptional. The Amuse Bouche itself (Salmon and Cider broth) almost stole the show (it was that good) but the Belly of Pork with Black Pudding and the side presentation of fresh vegetables were just gorgeous. The wine list was good, and we were looked after by the hotel's lovely staff who were friendly and engaging. COVID protections were smart and well thought out. L’amuse Bouche Restaurant within the Cotford Hotel is not just an amazing place to enjoy a delightful meal and excellent wines, but we now know it is a wonderful setting for afternoon tea. Our Grandchildren had bought my wife a voucher for her 60th birthday which was 1st Jan and although the voucher ran out in June, due to Covid-19 we had not been in a position to attend within the six months the voucher was valid for, but there were no quibbles over this and we were welcomed with open arms.We were attended by two delightful young ladies who were both efficient and possessed a good sense of humour, crucial at this current time. We felt completely safe at all time’s and thoroughly enjoyed our delightful afternoon tea with a good selection of sandwiches, delightful cakes and warm scones with jam and clotted cream. Yes, jam went on first My wife had coffee which she said was excellent and I enjoyed my two pots of tea. My wife couldn’t manage all her cakes and as I was rather full, the surplus were duly boxed for us and we brought them home.I just cannot fault this place, it’s not just somewhere to go and eat, it’s an experience, whether you are having a meal or as it turns out, afternoon tea. If owners Chris and Barbara ever contemplate retirement, an act of parliament needs to be brought in to stop them. If you haven’t been and are contemplating going, just book, you honestly won’t regret it.

Though we didnt stay at the hotel, we ate at the restaurant. We started in the lounge and looked at the menus adn the wine list, and after talking to the host, we chose a wonderful bottle of Italian wine, very smooth silky and full bodied. The restaurant knew that my wife was vegan and I didnt eat red meat, but there were options on the main menu that were perfect anyway. My wife had a starter with beetroot and a main with a colourful array of vegetables. I had the scallops and then the halibut, both tasty and beautifully presented. We even had dessers of creme brulee and a sorbet - on top of an amuse bouche, hot bread and butter (churned by the hotel - one with marmite which I love) another bottle of wine and a glass of port or two, we had a great meal and waddled off home happy. Very friendly place, superb food and I loved the informality of the marmite butter - even though the place looks quite posh, that, and a lot of other little touches, made it feel much more homely and welcoming. My wife already wants to go back, and stay there next time.

A group of 10 of us celebrating a number of March birthdays enjoyed an evening of the Taster Menu. From the get-go, the service was excellent. Prior to our visit, the chef made contact a number of times to discuss the food options and individual requirements (mix of meat, pescatarian and vegan diners). Nothing was too much trouble and the chef was only too happy to accommodate our requirements. On arrival we were shown into a comfortable lounge area with open fire and served drinks and nibbles. Great choice of gins with a variety of flavours! We were each given our taster menu with a teaser description of the 8 courses we were to experience before being shown into the dining area.Service was prompt, professional and friendly with the timing between courses just right. Two major highlights for me (and I think i can speak for all 10 of us):- the food: superb fine dining experience. The dishes, the flavours and the craftmanship lept off the plate.- interaction with the Chefs. Both chefs came to our table several times to introduce the course being served and give an overview of the dish, the key ingredients and the flavour combinations. The beef and chocolate + rhubarb courses were big highlights for me!So....top marks for me across all dimensions and kudos to both front of house and kitchen teams. Having lived in Malvern for 15 years, it's a bit remiss of me not to have visited before.....and i'll certainly be coming back again soon.

We tried L’amuse Bouche for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I love the whole ‘country house’ restaurant experience, and have tried several around the county over the years for Sunday lunch and this was easily in the top two, and definitely the best in the local area. Just under £30 per person for three courses was good value, with a pleasant range of options and I can’t wait for a reason to go back.

We enjoyed a super meal here last week.I suffer with a dairy allergy, and when I asked the waitress to help me with the menu she couldn't have been more helpful. She talked through the options which the chef could tweak to be dairy free and I enjoyed a wonderful celeriac salad with basil sorbet and a pork belly main with seasonal vegetables. But it really was the pudding that I was most impressed with. There was nothing on the menu that could be tweaked, so the chef made me a poached pear in a sticky ginger sauce with sorbet, fruit, toasted hazelnuts and tiny meringues. I think it's fair to say this was the best pudding I have ever eaten. The service, the atmosphere and the food was really outstanding. Thank you so much.

What a fantastic meal and setting at this love restaurant. When we got there we were seated in a living room with an open fire where we browsed the menus to pick our food and drinks. The staff then took us through into the restaurant where we ate and after the meal we were taken back into the living room to have our coffees. The staff we great and the food was fanatic I would high recommend L’amuse Bouche.

the passion and focus on quality is excellent, great food all made here from the chocolates, bread, sauces, etc. etc. some would say a bit expensive but I would disagree, its great value and will definitely be back again, it does not need a special occasion to enjoy these flavors.

This lunch was our special treat, having abandoned our family for only the second time in 38 years, and we were well and truly pampered at The Cotford from the friendly greeting on arrival by hostess Barbara to our departure feeling very well fiiled. The serving team ensured that everything was so smooth and professional - all done with charm. The ambience in the lounges and restaurants was warm and luxurious and we appreciated the special touches of superior party hats and crackers. The meal, for us, could be divided into two halves: fabulous starter and heavenly mouth cleansing sorbet followed by slightly disappointing main course and desserts. Both our starters were wonderful - beautiful presentation and delightful tastes. The grapefruit and champagne water ice with caramelised pineapple was heavenly - I could have eaten this ten times over! But we were disappointed with our mains of braised haunch of venison. The meat was overcooked, dry and stringy (though tender) and I found the sauce too sweet. There were plenty of nice accompanying vegetables, but overall this dish fell from the high standard of presentation of the previous two. Maybe we should have chosen the conventional turkey route....? Desserts were OK but again did not meet the standard of the starters, failing to deliver standout tastes. We had a very good Apassimento red wine from Puglia on Barbara’s suggestion. We finished in the lounge with coffees and petit fours to round off a very indulgent meal.

My Aunt and Uncle brought my daughter and I here for a belated birthday meal during our recent trip to visit them in Malvern. Everything about our evening was perfect. We received a warm welcome from Barbara and enjoyed a drink in the beautiful bar before dinner and then were taken to a lovely table in the dining room with views of the beautiful garden. The table had been decorated to acknowledge my special birthday. The food was fabulous with the highlight being the assiette of miniature deserts. Simply stunning. To top it all, the service was outstanding and Chris, the co owner and head chef even took time out from the kitchen to come and chat to us as we relaxed in the comfortable lounge after our meal. It doesn't get any better than this. Thank you.

Two of us went for a pre theatre meal at 6pm. I had the lamb, my friend the Dover sole. Both meals were delicious and couldn’t be faulted. An l’amuse bouche was delivered beforehand, again delicious. The dessert, crepe brûlée was superb, each mouthful a flavour bomb. The setting is beautiful, a perfect venue for a celebration meal.

We have eaten here on a number of occasions, and have always been impressed withe the greeting, the quality of the cuisine and the friendly and efficient service. Whether as a couple or a group the welcome and the offering by the staff is excellent. Booking is essential, and other than hotel guests often the reason to eat here is a family celebration or a group of friends. Highly recommended.

Another year and another birthday and another excuse to visit here which without doubt is my favourite restaurant on the island. This place never stands still and is always full of innovation and sets the bar very high for itself! As usual the food was stunning and such was the presentation I almost didn’t want to move the food to eat it! On top of this the staff are great and professional without being stuffy which some up the whole establishment really. I would like to stay at the hotel to try the breakfast but unfortunately I only live down the road! ♂️

I have run out of adjectives for describing this place, but all I will say is, that you will not get a better meal anywhere in Malvern or indeed in the County than this, it’s that good. It’s not just about the food, but the whole experience and once again, for our wedding anniversary meal, everything was just spot on. You start off in the beautiful lounge for pre meal drinks and get provided with olives and popcorn whilst you peruse the menu and then you eat in the restaurant which is delightful. For the first time in all my visits, I had the Herefordshire beef and it was cooked to perfection which came with braised shin, marrow crumble and fresh truffles as well as perfectly cooked and presented vegetables. My wife had the shank of Welsh Valleys Lamb slow braised and with a pomegranate and confit red onion crust and a sweet Burgundy and herb jus, she loved it and she’s a real fussy eater. My treacle tart pud was a delight, although if you go for the first time, try the Assiette of miniature desserts, you will not be disappointed, believe me.

We arrived at the restaurant and since we arrived prior to our dining time, we had a drink in the sitting room which was both architecturally interesting and comfortable with new views of the garden. We had informed the restaurant that we intended to visit on our anniversary and on getting to our table this had been adorned with heart shapes and happy anniversary messages. This was a very nice touch. The meal was truly superb and we compared this to the anniversary meal we'd had some years previously at The Cliff in Barbados. We both really enjoyed the tasters provided by the restaurant and our menu choices. All the courses were well presented and we had enough time between to courses to not feel rushed in any way. We adjourned back to the sitting room for coffee and there we had some petit fours on a plate with Happy Anniversary inscribed in chocolate. We couldn't fault the restaurant or what we saw of the hotel in any way. We left very contented and really appreciated how they had made our anniversary so special.
