Lakeside Lounge and Restaurant in Castlereagh

Stayed in let’s go hydro and had some planned to go out somewhere for food, hadn’t realised there was a restaurant on the site so was really handy. My partner had pizza and I had lasagna both were lovely but what made it was the staff were really attentive and genuine, a great addition to the site and we will definitely be back!

We phoned the restaurant at around 1730 and were told that it would be a good time to come up. We arrived at 1750 walked into the reception area. My wife and 6 year old granddaughter were with me.There were 2 couples standing inside so we stood behind them there was a girl in the kitchen area to the left. A girl pouring and putting some drinks on a tray. Seated just to our right was a guy in a Hydro t shirt talking to a couple who were seated in front of him. No one spoke to us. Another man can in asked the 4 people in front of us what they were in for 2 said the spa and he took them away. We said food and he said go on in. We went into the restaurant one table had a family of 5 at it. They had drinks and were waiting for food.The girl who was putting drinks on a tray came in spoke to this family and went out again. She neither acknowledged our presence or said anything. I got up after 5 more minutes and got menus from the reception area.. This girl was behind the bar again. I took them back to my table. At no time did any speak to us in the restaurant. At 1820 we got up and left the restaurant. As I was going out the door the guy in the Hydro tee shirt asked if we were going. I asked if they were short staffed as the service was terrible. He did start to explain something, but I wasn't interested in listening as there was no excuse for not being spoken to. As I was about to get into my car he came to the carpark. Said about getting a table etc. Made the point that the restaurant had nothing to do with Hydro and didn't want us to leave with a bad experience. If anyone had at least engaged us in conversation. Good evening. Can I get you a menu. Would you like a drink? It was really disappointing as 2 of the 3 reviews I had read were 5 star. Great food atmosphere etc. My experience was 0 stars. But the review makes me put down 1 star minimum. Won't be back.

3rd time back and it gets better and better! Not really experimental regarding food but tried the Steak & Chutney pizza, genuinely the best I've had anywhere in NI and extremely reasonable. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and so affordable, will be back again and again! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s

Had the best lasagne, kids had pizzas, food was lovely and reasonably priced, staff were friendly, lovely atmosphere, definitely be back!

One if the best spots to go to along Carryduff the manager/owner Dyllan was very welcoming. The pizza (creamy chicken is what I got) is probably one of the best ones I’ve had in ages the missus got a pepperoni again said it was incredible!!! We also got a few small plates the breaded chicken with sweet chilli and garlic Mayo and of course had to try the wings, raging we couldn’t finish it all but sure done well for a lovely lunch the next day!! Will 100000% be back again

Stayed in the pods at let’s go hydro and this restaurant is right next door and it did not disappoint!!. It’s a great spot and has a great atmosphere and the drinks promos and the pizza’s they do are hard to beat. Will 100% be returning
