I try the biryani and very delicious food.amazing staff and good customer service.

This place when it opened we went twice in its opening week and it was excellent on Christmas day had some friends from London and after food they wanted a karak chai so I decided this place will be got OMG was I so wrong & was so embarrassed in front of my friends. Tables where so dirty and greasy we politely ask the girl staff to clean she still didn't manage to clean properly it was very quite in there & very cold chairs was so wobbly not one but all of them we order 3 chai s some cake a halwa wanted kheer but they didn't have any chai came in chipped broken cups very dirty cups she did change when we asked the lotus cake was so hard & dry all of our plastic spoons broke we used hands but it was the most horrible cake we ever had but however the halwa was decent. We did mention about the cake when the took it back she just laughed so did we 😆 lol Waste of £23+ stay away from here.

Food is not that bad but customer service is really really bad especially the rude face girl. Never going back...

If you want to get food poisoning simply go to this place you will not be able to walk for minimum three days for sure

Chai Shai is a welcome addition to area. The dishes are tasty and served in a unique way. The ‘Lady Boss’ is lovely and I’ve been there a few times with friends and family and service has been great. I don’t know why others have slagged off the service but I have ZERO complaints. It’s stylish, tasty and the chai is ‘da bomb’ especially the Karak chai … I would recommend Desi breakfast - channa, paratha and omelette and take pictures in there, decor and tables make for a great photo opportunity! A very different offering than other Pakistani eateries on Stockport Road.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lahori Chai Shai, and it was a fantastic experience! Their halwa puri and anda paratha are truly exceptional, easily some of the best I’ve had. The halwa puri was a perfect start to the meal — light, fluffy puris with a subtly sweet and fragrant halwa that just melts in your mouth. The chana (chickpeas) that came with it were seasoned beautifully, striking that ideal balance of spice and flavor. The anda paratha was another highlight, perfectly flaky with just the right amount of crispiness. Overall, the flavors and quality at Lahori Chai Shai made it a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Pakistani breakfast!

This restaurant is quite good. Atmosphere is outstanding food is good overall tasty. But I would suggest to the owner to focus on the customer service please 🙏 the customer service is horrible there. The order takes longer time to serve and the staff wasting a lot of time to get the customers. They talk too much in between themselves, unnecessary shouting, the lady in the till doesn’t bother about customer. Her attention is always in the kitchen not to the customers. The kitchen guys were talking very loud.

Bad experience waste.of money .... Halwa puri was so tasteless I don't know who have hire their chef who don't know about puri ata ... Halwa quantity was like Itnwas free although I have paid whole price . Chana were totally tasteless there was no curry tasteless instead oil . Aloo.paratha taste was some how good but not too much . Plz check the halwa puri.of.laziza and compare with yours I was highly disappointed although it was my first expense with you

Saw this on TikTok and looked good, so decided to travel down. Upon arrival the tables and chair were dirty, wasn't busy so can't see why it wasn't cleaned. Ordered the Matka Chicken Biryani, Matka Lamb and Platter for 2. Unfortunately even through the presentation of the dishes was nice, the food had zero taste to it. Everyone left unsatisfied. Very disappointed as travelled from far and spent a lot of money. Needs some serious improvement.

Top breakfast lovley homley, and I feel great decor

Enjoyed the food but not so impressed with atmosphere and service provided. Food prices were reasonable and had huge variety to select from. I recommend do takeaway as seating area is not so comfy to go with family.

Lahori breakfast was fantastic. Woke my palate up on a rainy Sunday morning with huge flavours. Chicken paratha was great too. I liked that the karak chai wasn’t sweetened already (they had sugar we could add at our own discretion). Great price and service, need to come back to try more!

Amazing food recommended like homemade fresh must try very friendly stuff very traditional tea and food was very tasty. I recommend anybody can take the family. WAQAR

The staff lady on till is super rude… charging you differently from the mention prices in menu.. upon mentioning her about prices she said we revised the prices, ok if you change the prices why have you not written anywhere?????she spilled the curry on my clothes and say no sorry at all. Matkas for tea were chipped, and she said they are hand made and they are like this, she thinks we are stupid and we don’t know what is chipped and what is design.?? I will request to the owner please change your’s staff or close this.. never ever recommend anyone to go here. Taste was ok.

I usually go here to have matka chae with my friends but this time I ordered food aswell which had hair in it which is horrendous i have made an complain about it to the staff did not even say sorry or anything.

After a long time found a hidden gem for authentic Lahore breakfast. Went with family and had the Desi breakfast and it all tasted amazing. Atmosphere was reasonable and shop is decorated with a Lahore theme. Looks like they will expanding next door and will do better with a bigger shop. The lady at the front was friendly and efficient. Enjoyed my Desi breakfast!

I bought 3 pans to take away come home its just wrapper nothing inside them Halwa purri was inedible no taste and their chai tasted like milk only only thing nice was the mango icecream

My friend lives in Manchester, I live in London, and one day, he took me to a fantastic place called Lahori chai shai. I was immediately impressed by everything it had to offer, from the delicious food to the excellent service and the overall welcoming atmosphere. It was such a great experience that I find myself constantly wanting to go back and enjoy it all over again.

Wow hidden little gem on Stockport Road, I’m a big foodie, I’ve tried most places but was shocked when I came to this place I tried the tawa chicken it was the tastiest dish I’ve tried in levenshulme the matka lamb had an authentic taste absolute beautiful taste unique, believe it or not the girl at the till serving was smiling to, highly recommend this place you won’t be disappointed 😊

Just had a VERY DISAPPOINTING meal at this cafe. We ordered the Desi breakfast which included karak chai- absolutely tasteless! The chicken biryani was overly spiced but revolting in taste. The service was atrocious. The young girl was far too busy chatting to her colleague and continued to make errors in our order. She kept bringing out our order one item at a time. We had to keep asking for items that were in the set breakfast- we asked three times for our drinks and then the karak chai was served in takeaway cups as opposed to the cute little pot vases that were displayed in the photos. Unfortunately / fortunately one of the cups of teas got knocked over and the tea spilled everywhere- including all over me. There was no sense of urgency to deal with the matter. I had burnt my leg. I asked for a towel. After a short while, they handed me a roll of kitchen roll. Not once did they ask if I was ok. Such a huge let down!

This is the first time I went their with 2 family members, the shop was empty so i thought brilliant food should be quick. Lady at the counter needs serious training the most uninterested person I have ever seen at a food shop. Tables were dirty and the floor was messy whilst I go over to the counter and order my food with in 5 mins she starts arguing with the staff in the back and we can clearly hear everything. Absolutely ridiculous food is average nothing special. Food places need to be clean it defo wasn't clean when we went and this was around midday so no excuse as to why nothing was clean.

What can I say this is the 3rd visit and I haven’t been dissapointed. The food was authentic traditional Pakistani food and tasted amazing. The warmth and friendly service provided by Asifa made our experience so welcoming. I will be visiting again soon.

I went at this place for having dinner and personally i really enjoyed the food It was so well cooked and delicious by taste And one thing more that I must mention that staff over there was kind and humble They are so good in their services specially the behavior of the girl who worked at this restaurant are so admirable.

My wife and I tried this place after driving past it a week ago. Something said I must try the matka dishes (semi cooked in clay pots). I was not disappointment after we ordered meat curry, chicken biryani and chana curry with 2 house Karai chai. The taste was 10/10, all of the dishes were on point. If you’re thinking of trying this place then don’t hesitate, defo go as soon as, you’ll be hooked as we am. On summary very good value for money, staff were fab, small abd quirky restaurant with authentic deco, good family ambiance and great food!

I visited this place with family for breakfast it was not busy time so we thought we will get good service and food but we were wrong like food service and customer service both were poor.The staff is busy in chatting and making fun at back of the kitchen customers who were waiting at reception their orders were not taking quickly we waited half hour just for parathas ana channa and when we asked this thing from girl she said nothing and threw food at table and went away she has no manners.I just want to say like please choose good people for customer service position. The only good thing is fresh food and atmosphere

Yesterday I went for breakfast with happy mood so I entered and first thing I noticed was the girl who’s duty is at reception was in kitchen talking and laughing loudly I waited few minutes then i call her she came up and omg the attitude was so rude looked sleepy and not interested in her duty then I tried their channa which has too much oil so first thing train her or give her long rest 2nd thing improve your channa quality No offence its a honest advice to you please

This place cooks up the closest experience to homemade Pakistani food! Loved the chicken and lamb karahi which were made fresh, and the parathas are the best around the area! Only improvement is the curry could be less oily hence not the 5 stars. very kind and welcoming staff , looking forward to going back to try the biryani!

The best Lahori chai I've tasted so far. I have been to many other Lahori restaurants in the UK but this place is absolutely amazing, the customer service is next to none, the food quality is great, and prices are affordable. Lahori chai shai very famous and very busy good atmosphere and delicious food. Breakfast was Very Tasty specially parathas.

I asked for normal size lamb curry, but they gave me large and charged me for large. The lamb curry meat was really bad, and it looked like as if it was frozen and then heated to be served, and all the meat pieces were scattered and broken everywhere. Byriani was just normal, nothing great about it. The cheese parotha hardly had any cheese in it and was very stingy. The samosa chat barely had any chana. Paying nearly £35 pounds was just waist of money and I will never go back there again. I could of gone to next door takeaway and got myself some shwarma and I would of been really happy. People it's a waste of money going to this place 😒

The lady at the counter has a strange attitude. She literally has no idea how to handle a customer. I was going to go there yesterday and order a couple of dishes, but because of the lady's behavior, I bought a single karak tea and left the shop immediately. Her behavior is like giving free food to the customer. If the owner reads this comment,tell her to at least say hi to the customer and sorry to say I won't be back

The best makta chai in Manchester. Must try!!

Right from the get go was quite obvious the staff member on the til wasn’t really engaged with the customer, and at times felt quite stand off ish. We requested just for some cheese to be added onto the masala chips and offered to pay extra (not realising they had loaded chips). She said no to this very easy request, rather than pointing out that they had loaded chips on the menu. We scanned the menu again and then noticed the loaded chips on. She said this would be with keema. We ordered this and 2 teas. The teas did not taste great, felt like they were over-brewed and you could see the ground tea bits in. Had a slight bitter aftertaste After a very long wait, loaded chips arrived in a plastic box. Instead of keema we got old burnt small chicken pieces that were blackened and also tasted very funny. Very few strings of cheese, 2 pieces of sliced jalapeno (which also tasted off), with just some drizzled sauce squirted on top. Potato’s were unevenly cooked, with some chips still being a bit raw. We could not possibly continue and had to leave after a few bites. On a positive note, we did finish the teas as we were waiting so long for the food, as desperate times calls for desperate measures. Also decor was nice, a shame the food and service doesn’t live up to it

Great food Really tasty and obviously very popular with locals as people come and go. Samosa chaat was massive and cheap. Really tasty and fresh Aloo parata comes out fresh of the tawa Really tasty food. And very cheap Menus are a little battered and need replacing Tables Could have done with a quick wipe down.

I have been excited about trying this place for ages, as I have passed, it has always looked so inviting. Finally made it tonight, and tried their street food. I was worried I had built too much expectations, but I was wrong! The chaat (served cold) was busting with flavour, and the chicken paratha was sweet and spicy, with plenty of coriander. Yes it is street food, so it is a good price for some serious tastes. I will 100% be back soon

From start to finish, this place as a massive disappointment. We ordered, and were overcharged hugely, even when questioned he denied it, then we asked for a detailed bill of our order…and he backtracked and paid us back the difference, even then we questioned the price of the parathas on the printed menu he showed us, he said they’re old prices.!.!! We asked for chicken and cheese parathas and got cheese only… no trace of chicken whatsoever..! I’ll never go back, complete waste of time and money…

Nice decor but does not meet up to the standards of other Lahori restaurants nearby. We ordered chicken nugget meal for the kids, £4.99 with Fruit Juice. The lady serving said there was no Fruit Juice, but you can pay an extra £1 for J20 which I think was out of order. The chefs and workers were very loud in the kitchen.

Went in for a simple single item samosa chaat, was decent but the food poisoning I got afterwards was very severe, 3 days later and I’m still in pain and have to always keep near a toilet. I don’t know how long the food was left out or what the quality of hygiene is like in the kitchen but the trauma from this single samosa I tried from here has made me never want to come back here ever again.

Extreme rude behaviour from the lady upfront. She was constantly swearing at her staff at the back and rudely threw out food on the table. Too much attitude from her otherwise the staff at the back seemed extremely pressured. Tea was good but chips just had a bit of chat masala and tasted old. Would never return again and make sure no family or friend of mine goes there. Feel bad for the staff honestly.

i wait 45 min for a paratha the girl was very rude disgusting

So this is the first time I went to this place. As it had some good reviews. I don't want to be hostile towards the business. I don't know whether they paid these people to write these reviews. My experience was nothing but poor. The seating arrangments are OK there isn't much seating It's a small shop. So now we sat down at our table. However the table hadn't been cleaned from the previous customers, which I brought to the attention of the lady behind the counter? she said she will come and clean it. So Instead she comes with our food I did say to the lady that you still not cleaned the table. So she decided to clean the table put the food down on a table opposite her. She wiped down our table with her bare hands and no use of any ppe (gloves) and then decides to pick our food and with the same hands that she used to clean our table picking other people's tissues from the previous customers. that was our first reaction. Now for the food itself this is a typical asian place where they sell partha chai etc. The partha where OK due to the fact that they where extremely greasy, the curry and omlete (very small portion)that came with it was awful. If you would like your arteries blocked then this is your place. overall I would not go there again.

This place destroys Chaiiwala! This place is a proper hidden jem! Let us start off by saying we have tried every single item on the menu and each item is absolutely amazing. The food is absolutely exceptional, traditional and made with highest standard possible. The only issues we have are No. 1, the seating is awful, they need a bigger space. No. 2, parking is atrocious. No. 3, They don't have a customer toilet. Apart from those issues this place is an absolute must try for anyone.

Ordered chess and plain pratha but can’t find any difference because there wasn’t chess in it. Also charged extra than was written when ordering,when asked why been charged extra simple reply ,out priced changed now. But food quality gone down. If the quality is better than don’t mind pay extra but food quality is really poor now .. very disappointed

I have ordered lahori breakfast (parata, omelette, chana and chai) FOOD:- As i start from the food the parata was fine big enough to full a person up but the omelette size very tinny what I expected to be and it was too oily, the chana was totally in a oil where I needed to pick the chana from the plate it was bit blend, only best thing i liked here is Chai it was proper kadak one thankgod!! Service:- (POOR MANAGEMENT) when I entered the place some tables where not clean for ages, when i sat there the plate where i needed to wait for 2mintz and took those dirty plates on till no surface cleaner were used to clean tables, (first impression is the best impression), I could say the girl was doing here job very well but i think if she get some training she can do wonders, (server with smile, do upselling, explain about the menu, be passionate) Atmosphere:- it was well decorated and designed shows some Lahore vibes, but only one thing is missing was music when you got a such a nice place and your kitchen is very close to front you need a music to avoid all disturbances from the kitchen i agree staff talk and have a chat but it should be not people know!!

This is a small restaurant/cafe takeaway in Levenshulme, Manchester. We ordered the Lamb Matkha which is lamb salan (curry) cooked in a clay pot. Delicious! The breakfast of Channa, halwa and puris was also very tasty and a real treat. Rotis were light as they should be. The chai in the matkha was delicious. For those of us who know how to cook Pakistani Punjabi food, it’s great to go somewhere where it’s done so well. The service was excellent. A note to the owners; this was a lovely experience for us, food quality, the ambiance is engaging with the Urdu quotes all over. A bigger restaurant would be brilliant somewhere in Manchester with all the facilities.

Good little spot breakfast. Had desi breakfast which came with Masala omelette, chana(chicpeas) served with Paratha and choice of tea. Everything of desi breakfast was really nice tasty 👍. The Matka(clay pot cup) was milkier, everyone has their own taste. Also had Matka Chicken Biryani. Was slightly more on the sweet side maybe due to more kewra. Went with wife and baby. There was just enough room for pram no highchairs were seen. Quite crammed

Ordered 2 breakfast with karak chaii.Karak chai received without suagr and the chickpea curry was tasteless without any spices and salt in it.Again with paratha,no salt and does not looks like fresh .The case with omlette is also the same,no salt no taste.Not at all worth for the money.I dont understand ,how people can serve food like this?
