A really nice restaurant with quite a bit of vegan options. I recommend the avocado hummus and the olives. The costumer service was really good-helpful. Only thing, it’s way too loud as people were really screaming and talking out loud and with music on too (good music).

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch to celebrate our anniversary at Victors. The roast beef sirloin was excellent. The whole experience made even better by our server , Milla, who was so attentive and a real credit to the restaurant.

Had a lovely meal here with my mum for her birthday treat. It's was perfect 👌🏾 our server for the evening was Milla and what a delight she was. Complementary, attentive, funny, knowledgeable. Food was delicious cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was beautiful. Definitely coming back. 😊

The place looks cute with all flourish decoration, we went for brunch, I liked it as you could taste everything is fresh. The only small issue I had was my eggs royal was a bit cold though this is a personal choose. I like my food warm. I’d go back for dinner for sure.

Victors is such a gorgeous restaurant, the interior is enchanting with lots of faux wisteria. The food is faultless, we had the Cobb salad, Caesar salad and our little one had the Mac and cheese. If anything the children’s Mac and cheese was tiny, even for a children’s portion although it was tasty. We found that we waited quite a while for food, meaning that we had to rush to move the car on the front before we got a car parking fine. The desert took nearly 40 minutes to arrive to us, which was for my little one and to them that’s a lifetime. It was also his birthday which we did mention on multiple occasions but they did nothing for this, which you would usually get something even in basic restaurants. It wasn’t busy at all, maybe three or four other tables taken, I’m not sure what the hold up was on the service and I could see other guests seemed frustrated. We would however love to come back on an evening and try more things on the menu as it all looks delicious.

Nice decor and ambience but the food was not to the standard we would have expected for the price we paid. portion sizes very small. The Hot chicken burger size was abysmal. A chicken nugget in a bun! for £17 one would expect a decent size chicken fillet in a bun. no salad no sauces on or with it. To have a plate with a child size bun and nothing else should not have been sent out of the kitchen. The ice cream was sent out in a hot bowl and was put on our table half melted not edible without a straw and not worth the price. The 10% service charge is acceptable as the waitress was pleasant and working hard. £120 for 2 of us and we came home and had pizza! Nice place but probably won't go back again.

I advise not to book through open table. We were told upon arrival that our booking was not valid, and that they were fully booked. We were also told, this had happened before and they had no access to the system to turn bookings off? So you’re happy for people to make wasted journeys for special occasions and turn up to be told that their reservation isn’t valid? Very strange. It was Father’s Day and we travelled one hour with a 10 month old baby. The manager was happy to politely apologise and have us on our way, no offer of a voucher or much effort to ‘fit us in’. We politely pushed for any alternative table at all as we were desperate. We were then offered to sit outside (not really the special meal we came for nor particularly appropriate with a baby) but after sitting at the bar and scouring the internet to find a table anywhere else we accepted sitting outside as a last resort. We were then given our diet cokes free as courtesy. We like to think we are very polite, so we accepted the mix up and didn’t say anything despite there being 8 tables free inside the restaurant. We kept quiet thinking perhaps they were expecting an influx of bookings soon. We were however quite shocked that 1 hour went by and still there were 8 empty tables available inside whilst we remained outside? We could have sat inside for however long was available and then moved outside which would have been better than nothing? Again. It just seemed a very odd decision on our part, maybe an explanation would help if this were to happen again. From a customers point of view it was baffling. Further to the point above, not at any point during our stay was there ever full covers on the tables. There was always empty tables available inside. We would have even been happy with a maximum table time if that would have been offered to us. Moving on to the food, Our bread starter was nice, no complaints Our roast dinner again was nice. Everything came pretty quickly. However, it went downhill from here. We got forgotten about for a very long time after our mains, we waited an exceptionally long time to be asked if we wanted dessert. We actually finished our main and starter within 1 hour. However we spent approximately 2.5 hours at the restaurant, waiting for a waiter to come over to take our plates away and ask us if we wanted dessert. Dessert finally came, which was quite possibly the worst desserts we’ve ever experienced. I ordered a cookie and ice cream which ended up being goo and ice cream, the ‘cookie’ was non existent and was infact just goo that would drip in a soup consistency from my spoon. My husband ordered a sticky toffee pudding which wasn’t cooked. We had been polite the entire time, despite our frustrations. We were quite honestly just baffled, and although staff were very polite. We just couldn’t understand our experience. We politely asked a member of staff if the desserts were supposed to be like this and we were told, absolutely not and that they would be taken off our bill. We received 20% off, and our desserts and initial drinks were taken off which was appreciated. It’s difficult to get out with a baby, so it was disappointing that this was our experience on my husbands first Father’s Day, which was supposed to be a special day for us.

Second visit to Victor's and probably wouldn't return. **Service very slow** Mixed up orders and food VERY average - on par to a very average pub that I'd expect to pay less that 80% of what the bill will be at Victor's. Our previous visits have been worth returning, but we left this time NOT wanting to go back anytime in the future. No one ever asked us if we wanted drinks where our glasses stood empty for hrs. Shocking service and very dismissive staff. We even got asked if we wanted our bill whilst still eating our main - erm no! I did this review whilst sitting for over an 1hr and 45 mins (and counting) for a dessert and still waiting for someone to ask if we want anymore drinks (see photo). Update our pudding finally arrived but the sticky toffee was like a brick

Low score given due to: 1) very uncomfortable seating, I don't know who designed the chairs for two people but they definitely never sat at them. For such an expensive meal you would expect to be at least comfortable 2) Portions are such a poor size. Why does expensive food have to be such small portions? I had to eat again when I got home, which is a joke after spending £150 For that reason I'd recommending eating at a better value restaurant

I have been to Victor's in Newcastle twice, including my undergrad graduation meal, before my visit to Victor's Hale, so I was really excited to visit the one in Hale as it was a different location but the Newcastle one had impressed me so much food and service wise, however, I can't say the same for the Hale location. I booked the Hale location for mine and my boyfriend's anniversary, therefore, we were both looking forward to it. We're both students still so we knew to save a decent amount aside as Victor's is more on the higher price point but from my past experience it was definitely worth it, however, this time it was not. Completely understand that this was no one's fault in terms of FOH staff, as I work in a restaurant and hospitality for a few years I know things like this can happen, but their beef tataki had ran out but we weren't made aware of this until the server came over and took our order so had to rethink, would have been nice to know so we could have chosen something else instead of deciding last minute. We were also asked twice in the space of 10 minutes after we sat down if we were ready to order yet which felt a bit rushed. We ordered our food and then ordered some more drinks, I'd asked to get a glass of ice to come with my wine at the time of order but maybe the server didn't hear me which is completely fine it happens but I then asked another member of staff for a glass of ice when he brought the drinks over (think he was a manager or supervisor as he wasn't in the Victor's uniform) but it never came after waiting for 10/15 mins. I asked for a third time from another server who put it through and it eventually came. Our food wasn't that great to be honest, I was quite disappointed, as I have eaten twice before at Victor's e.g. the chips (for nearly £6) were quite inconsistent, the top ones were cooked nicely at the top but as you got to the bottom they became quite greasy and a bit harder and the burger was just a bit mediocre the patty was a bit overdone and lacked flavour and no salad. I think the most important part and why I am even writing this review is because of the way the server was with us at the end when paying the bill. Like I have mentioned I work in a restaurant alongside studying, so I know how much tips do make a difference but at the end of the day you get paid an hourly wage. Where I work also puts a 10% service charge on automatically so a lot of people do just pay it which is nice, however, I'm not going to pay a 10% service charge when I waited about 20-30 minutes for a glass of ice and like I said the whole experience was just not what I was hoping for, so I asked for it off (I have paid it both times before). The reaction we got from the server was really rude, he looked at me like I'd said something horrible to him and said yes very bitter, honestly I was shocked, I would never be like that with a customer if they didn't want to leave a tip. After we paid he just walked off didn't say thank you or have a nice evening nothing. Also I put that it was a special occasion (Anniversary) and it felt like that was completely overlooked, a big part of Victor's vibe is the experience you get from walking in and out the door and just felt left down to be honest, something got brought out for me at my graduation meal but not this time so a it confused why they ask on the booking? I was so buzzing after my visits in newcastle, but this has put me off visiting again soon and put a little dampener on our anniversary. Just can't believe the difference in the way things were this time round:/

I’ve frequented Victors a few times and I’ve never left a review previously. But visiting last night. 2 Tables in the whole restaurant , and the service from the kitchen was shockingly slow. To the point we discussed that we wouldn’t be visiting again. If it was this slow with only 2 tables what would it be like on a Friday or Saturday night. Also, as mentioned in the booking, it was a celebratory Birthday meal. This was acknowledged on arrival, and normally a plate with Happy Birthday is presented at the end. I’m guessing this got overlooked with due to how busy the restaurant was !

The stock control is poor! To be honest I’m really disappointed and very upset. Firstly… I went to the restaurant to get 2 things from the menu, one was the tofu and second was the baked Alaska. After being told the list of things that weren’t available on our early dinner, I ordered my food, then I was told after a while that they don’t have the tofu and I told them I was disappointed as I came here for that. I then asked in that moment if they had any baked Alaska and they said there is plenty. I re-instated whether they can save one as that’s the reason why we’re here. The waitress said sure no problem. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes for the food to come. (I’m sure the bread could’ve come out before but it came last after all the small plates). Then as we go on to desserts suddenly they don’t have the baked Alaska and they can’t do anything about it! So we’ve wasted money and time and mainly hope. I’ve had one great experience followed by 7 bad ones, this time just took the ultimate reign on bad experiences. Poor stock control and poor untrained customer service.

If this is the response from the Management Team then our initial assumptions were correct in terms of your level of customer service. We in fact pointed out the glass was chipped otherwise it would not have been changed. Also, we were assured that you could cater for 'gluten free', at no point were were warned that all you would be able to offer was eggs and/or bacon. We will not be back and would never recommend. Really unhappy. Despite 2 phone calls to advise it was our son’s 21 birthday no champagne on table as arranged, no acknowledgement that it was a special occasion. Also mentioned son was coeliac in both calls and assured that wasn’t an issue, yet on the day all he could eat was eggs and bacon! One of the champagne glasses chipped when brought to table. Expected so much better.

I Reserved a table for a Birthday meal. My elderly disabled parents arrived first to be pointed to high stools on a bar bank. They were only moved to a table once they explained they couldn’t get up on the high chairs. The restaurant wasn’t full and we’d booked ahead and reserved a table Once we were all seated we tried several times to get the attention of staff to ask for a drinks menu. After 30 minutes a waitress asked what we wanted to drink, we explained we didn’t have a drinks menu, she was very disinterested but after another 10 minutes we finally got the drinks and food menus. It took another 20 minutes to order. The manager was sat talking about events on the next table, ignoring what was going on and that customers were waiting long lengths of time. Once we had ordered 1 hr 40 minutes after arriving we finally got food. Having chosen a 2pm late lunch by 3.40 we were ravenous! Seating is uncomfortable so by this point we were far from happy and regretting our choice. The food was nice but nothing out of the ordinary and certainly not something that should take so long to cook, with only 4 tables occupied by this point we felt totally ignored and the attitude of staff was disinterested and really not the service I’d expect from this type of restaurant. Communication was poor between staff with mistakes in our order and staff asking other customers if food was for them or not. To be honest in all the years eating out I’ve never experienced such poor service ( used loosely) , the bill included 10% service charge for the worst service I’ve experienced. So basically it doesn’t matter how you’re treated as service charge is automatic. After paying the bill we left, I would have expected a thank you for visiting or a smile or some kind of kindness but nothing what so ever, I don’t expect staff to be false but some kind of warmth would go a long way especially when celebrating a special occasion. I would not visit again and I would not recommend the restaurant. I’ve given the 1 star as the food was hot and edible. The restaurant is more expensive than many good calibre restaurants and to be honest apart from being in Hale I’m unsure why this would be.

I made booking for 24 hours away at Alderley Edge in error. Girl on phone readily changed to correct one in Hale. Parking in local Brown St car park free on Sunday which is 2 mins away. Mon- Sat chargeable but cheap. Food is hot and good but some may say pricey- appears to be about right for Hale. £84 inc service fee for two people, 3 drinks, 7 little plates,no deserts. Plenty of space so not cramped. I passed this place enroute to Dairy in Ashley, when I spotted it. Also my daughter's friend recommended. We were on the way to One Love Bob Marley film(also 5☆ if you like him!) at Vue Altrincham so handy- 5 mins). So great night. 5☆

The interior decor of this restaurant is very unique. As soon as I arrived, I found myself continuously admiring my surroundings, taking in the ambiance. My friends were busily studying the menu. I ordered a medium-rare ribeye steak which was incredibly tender and juicy. I really appreciated the experience and my friends have already booked a table for our next visit!

Took us 1 hour to get any food .We saw others served before us .I did this as a treat for my daughter and friend.I guess the biggest misunderstanding was the server thought because my daughter could not eat it we did not want it . Meanwhile we waited for bread .We seemed to have any wait staff going by for things we needed .There was no basics like water on table .We had to cancel the previous day and we were so disappointed by today .I live in Canada so we are not used to this kind of service .THe previous restaurant at the other end of hale had normal service .

Dined last night on their 50% January offer. Table was 20 minutes late which isn't the end of the world as it was rammed due to the 50% off offer. One of the dining party was GF and although it clearly states on their website and menu they can adapt many dishes to be GF the server didn't have an understanding of this. It's also very unusual for such a high end restaurant in the middle of Hale to pass you a 20 page allergy matrix to look through instead of having a dedicated GF menu printed out. We ordered our food which was fine but then it all came out separately in HUGE gaps. One of our party got all of her food at once then some of us got the sides for our main dishes and then the main dishes came 25 minutes later. One of us ordered cod and waited 50 minutes for this to come out following the first dishes arriving. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. By the time the main dishes came out the sides we had ordered with them had gone cold. Half of our dining party had finished eating by the time some of the other main dishes had arrived. If the food was served tapas style this would of been fine. And it would of also have been fine if it all came out in a short time frame but to wait almost an hour between 2 dishes is ridiculous. We eventually cancelled the rest of the order and paid and left. I've heard mixed reviews from Victors and wanted to try them again but none of us will be returning. Someone needs to take a look at this and sort it out.

Wow. Delicious food let down by abismal service. I attended 2 weeks ago and the food was lovely but we were seated for around 3 hours due to the lack of service. Again coming recently and the food was great again but severely let down by the shoddy attention from the staff, took a waitress 25 minutes no exaggeration to come over after we had finished our meal. Husband enjoyed his steak, my popcorn chicken main was very small chunks so could hardly taste any chicken. Truffle fries and truffle mac and cheese were both nice. Desserts were really small. Slightly slow service at the start but it was NYE. Good service team. Server said tips added on card terminal doesn't go to them.

Food was not good, the salmon is described as coming with a salad which turned out to be just garnish & then when a salad was ordered they brought an overpriced bowl of spinach leaves- not a salad. Desserts & drinks were fine however I don’t think I’ll be returning based of the underwhelming mains.

Absolutely appalling experience on New Years Eve. We feel shocked, disgusted and let down as loyal customers to Victors. As we live local in Bowdon, we have been here before and had great experiences. Due to this, i booked a table for the set dinner for myself and my mum at 9.15pm for New Years Eve and paid the deposit. I notified staff via email of our order days in advance (bear in mind £95 per person not including the drinks or deposit paid, for the New Years set menu). Excited to enjoy the night and nice food, we spent hours getting ready for the night, wearing our nicest dresses and outfits. Arriving to the restaurant, it seemed busy as you would expect for New Years, with most tables consisting of groups of people with drinks. It seemed very rushed and chaotic, we had an umbrella as it was raining heavily upon arrival and I had a Balmain blazer on, which was soaked. We were not even offered for our things to be taken, and kept hung up, like you’d expect for a restaurant of this status. This is usually a typical considerate gesture done at other establishments I often attend, such as the Ivy and Gaucho as being standard. This had already set a bad tone for the night immediately and demonstrated poor customer service. We were then told that there were not yet any tables free and we had to wait at the bar. Unfortunately the bar was completely full and over packed. There was absolutely no where for us to sit and we were left having to stand and hold a soaking wet jacket and umbrella, not an experience you’d expect to be paying hundreds for. There was a chair free, which was rudely taken by a man who appeared very scruffy in appearance and wore sports clothes to a seemingly high end restaurant. He rudely grabbed my waist and moved me out the way to sit down himself next to his girlfriend, who was also rude, but may have also been frustrated waiting for a free table. This left us feeling humiliated despite looking stunning in gorgeous outfits, and classy in appearance to fit the high end class of restaurant this is. There appeared to be no class or manners from anyone, something I have never experienced before in any establishment like this. Becoming more frustrated as we were still waiting for a table and standing with wet clothes at the bar with no seats it became very embarrassing . We had booked a table for 9.15 and was now around 9.45, and we were not offered any kind of apology whatsoever or complimentary drink whilst waiting as bare minimum, we requested to speak to the manager. The manager Indicated that there was no sign of tables clearing anytime soon and the kitchen was “chaos”, definitely not something you want to hear whilst waiting for a meal you’re going to spend hundreds on. It seemed as though they had made a huge error in over booking the restaurant for the night so tables couldn’t be cleared when they needed to be for more customers that had bookings later and people seemed sat at their tables having drinks and not moving to accommodate the later bookings . As we did not want to stand at the bar, for however many hours we’d have to wait for a table, ( if we even ever got one), we had no option but to leave with the refunded deposit, which was little to compensate for wasted time, wasted money and a completely wasted and ruined New Year’s Eve, leaving us feel upset and hugely let down as it was Victors error for overbooking the restaurant for the night, not ours. They have now lost loyal customers. As a business management student, I’d recommend taking a serious review into management for the conduct of the night, basic customer service standards and the over booking of table slots. We feel absolutely appalled and sadly wouldn’t be able to recommend this restaurant to anyone when it is a busy evening time, as you may not even get a table.

The food is always great at Victors, but our visit on a Saturday night was very disappointing. The music was ridiculously loud, which made it very difficult to hear what our dinner companions were saying. People go out for a meal to socialise, not experience a club environment. We asked for the music to be turned down to a sensible level, but other than a temporary token reduction, the music was soon uncomfortably loud again. (The young staff obviously just think I’m a boring old git, but surely a decent portion of your clientele are middle-aged people who want to eat and chat to their fellow guests. The staff should perhaps be concerned about whether they are being exposed to safe environmental noise levels?). I note that I’m not the first reviewer to point out the music issue. If you want to meet up with friends for a meal and catch-up, don’t go to Victors on a Saturday night!

The service and food were fine. I went there with 6 people and 3 of us got the set menu while my friend ordered from main menu and we also got a big platter of sushi. They offer you a 20£ fake voucher as they didn’t accept it as we used the set menu 3 times so the manager said its enough?! Then the bill was wrong and we still paid as we didn’t want to have another “discussion” and having the waiter to go back to the manager for the bill so we just paid and left. DONT offer people fake vouchers (and overcharged bills) please as they might need to use it in this economic crisis!

We went out for my birthday and there was lots of empty tables. But the service was still terrible. The food took over half an hour to arrive and the quality did not reflect the price. We weren’t asked if we needed anymore drinks or if we enjoyed our food. We were just ignored. We couldn’t even get a waitress's attention for the bill. When we asked someone she looked at us dismissively and asked someone else to do it, I was so shocked. And it was my birthday but no member of staff wished me happy birthday

Went for our anniversary (18th September), was very quite, only 5 tables when we arrived and the service was still awful. No check back on the food and took ages to get a waitresses attention, the quality of the food didn’t match the price. It didn’t feel like we were celebrating anything the only good thing was the dessert. Quite disappointed

I ate at La Torre with a friend about 6 months ago (I originally posted this review then against the wrong tapas & have only just realised when looking uo the restaurant to visit again) and we both really enjoyed our dishes. I had the squid, pork belly and garlic prawns and they were all very tasty. It was a Monday night so the restaurant was incredibly quiet, the service was perfect - the right level of attention so we had everything we needed whilst leaving us free to get on with catching up. I definitely want to eat here again.
