La Vespa in Brighton and Hove

This place used to be five stars hands down. As you can see, their ratings are sky high on here and on Deliveroo for that reason. However, they have changed ownership and changed names slightly - however the new pizzas are your standard "chip shop pizza as a side gig" vibe with that cheapest possible frozen ingredients. Steer clear. They also disabled reviews on Deliveroo so you'll notice nobody can change their review or add new ones, and their rating stays high. Completely unethical. All you can do is delete your review, which I've done. The only recent 5 star reviews on Google maps are all the same person who is the owner. Avoid this place at all costs to avoid disappointment.

Heads up — this pizza place is under new management. It used to serve excellent Neapolitan-style pizza, but unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. Same name, but now it’s your standard generic takeaway pizza. If you’re coming back hoping for the old style, you might be disappointed.

Probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Too much sauce, undercooked dough, only seasoning comes from the pepperoni. The pizza I chose was called pepperoni sensation and I was supposed to have extra pepperoni….. it was a regular pepperoni pizza. I’m starving and broke but I still binned the both pizzas. Even the prepackaged dip sucks

The Tandoori Hot Pizza from La Vespa was absolutely delicious! The toppings were fresh, and the tandoori flavor had just the right amount of spice. The crust was perfectly crispy yet soft inside. Service was friendly and quick. I would definitely recommend it for pizza lovers seeking bold flavors!

I had the most wonderful experience ordering from La Vespa pizzeria. We were a group of 20 people and the service was seamless, the owners were so accommodating in preparing takeaway for a large group, food was served on time and all 20 pizzas were delicious. Compliments to the chef and his daughter. 10 out 10. Will be back again.

good pizza, delivery could be a bit more careful, the pizza had clearly been tipped and all the toppings had slid off to one edge, it was salvageable so don't wish to request a refund through just eat but nearly ruined a good pizza!

Great, reasonably priced pizza that’s perfect for a quick work lunch. You can tell the quality is top notch because even when you order the most basic pizza imaginable (vegan marinara) it’s still delicious. Everything made fresh and to order, would visit again.

I am a pizza connoisseur, I’ve tried them all. This is by far the best takeaway pizza I’ve ever had. I had the Napoli which was divine. Even for a takeaway, this was top Naples pizzeria territory. No one else in Brighton and Hove can do a Napoli well. I just hope they maintain this quality as others haven’t. The other pizzerias on Portland Road could certainly learn a thing or two from Vespa.

Amazing pizza! My favourite is the Napoli, which is have many, many times. Ignore the 2 bad reviews. One is clearly written by PizzaFace who are both alot more expensive and no where near as good. Highly recommended.

I saw on the internet that it has Nutella pizza witch made me want it so much! Me and my mum went there to get it and we got garlic bread and Nutella pizza and the staff were ( as lots of the reviews say) very friendly! It’s also very cheap, only £7 witch is amazing especially in the cost of living catastrophe! The pizza and garlic bread was AMAZING and I put some pictures up on the review look into thing. Arrived in Hove late one evening and needing dinner and was very lucky to stumble upon this place. The price is very good but the pizza was great quality and made fresh. You can eat at a table. The couple serving were super friendly. I went out looking for quick street food and found this little gem. For quick and reasonable priced pizza it still feels like some love went into the food.

Authentic Italian. I think it's the best in Hove. The pizzas are fantastic, as is the Tiramisu and also the small spinach/mozarella or ham/cheese rolls and fresh herb focaccias. Highly recommended.

Refreshing to have a slightly different pizzeria in Hove. So many are now so stodgy and thick. This is a tasty, HUGE pizza, piping hot on delivery. No option to customise on deliveroo, but that's probably for the best! Will definitely be back.

Best Italian pizza in Brighton!

The menu includes authentic Italian ingredients such as bresaola, provola cheese, friarielli broccoli and much more. This gives the opportunity of a nostalgic like me to get a taste of home and for other people to get a REAL taste of Italy. The menu offers a wide choice of delicacies (more than just pizza) however I had to order my all time fave, the fumosa. The combination of speck ham and provola cheese was delicious, the pizza was big and filled with ingredients in every piece. Overall a really good first impression, staff friendly and pizza absolutely worth it😍. Definitely will come again.

Best pizza in town, great ingredients and great service

Really wanted to like this as the branding is good and the staff smile when I walk past. Ordered a Margherita and a Fumosa. I like how thin they are with a good chew on the crust but sadly both didn’t have any flavour at all. The sauce is good quality but lacks flavour. The mozzarella is ok but not perfect. There’s nothing new and inspiring on the menu sadly. Of course in Italy this would get by but we have so many more exciting toppings here like Wild Boar, Caramelised Onions, Chorizo, Goats Cheese and the list goes on…Not a wood fired or stone baked pizza but on a conveyor belt that dries pizza’s out too much. Really want you to succeed being a new business but needs work to the pizzas and menu ❤️ Honest and constructive review.
