La Turka Bistro Rawtenstall in Rossendale

I wanna give a shout out to all the staff working at this restaurant! The level of hospitality is unmatched compared to other restaurants. All the staff members are kind, polite and open people. The food is to die for and DEFINITELY recommend 👌🏼 😋

Lovely restaurant very cosy easy parking

Good points: Frendly and very attentive personnel, proud of their working place hence the resturant, incl the bar area and toilets are super clean and tidy. Also the guys in the kitchen are skillful as all dishes presented with care and finesse. Full marks there!!! Not so good points: WIth the first look the menu shouts out that this is another "touristy" restaurant, same as you would find in very popular destinations of the Med. It lacks imagination, uniqueness and it hardly represents the beautiful traditional dishes of Turkiye, Middle East, and rest of the Med. We ordered a selection of dips, meze, seafood, falafel, grilled meats, pizza etc and although there wasnt anything particularly wrong with them (apart from the baklava, lokum and stuffed vine leaves that werent moist, tasty and tender as they should be!) they were very average. As a mediterranean person myself what surprised me most was the lack of the fabulous aromatic spices of what east Med has brought to Europe hundreds of years ago! Where was the cumin, coriander, rose water (for the lokums) , paprika, chili, thyme, rosemary, lemon and so on... Overall i think the restaurant has great potential and it could be an ambassador of Med cuisine in our beautiful Rossendale valley but unfortunately the menu and ingredients let it down. Great food, atmosphere and staff..

Went for a friend's birthday. Food was very nice we had the set menu 3 courses. Portion size was very good. Was a nice atmosphere, staff friendly. Service was a bit slow between courses. I know there was a lot of us but we did prebook what we were eating.

It was pleasant in some ways. However it’s not cheap at all. I thought the food was severely lacking flavour and the price doesn’t match the quality. Service could be improved also. Probably far removed from authentic Turkish cuisine.

Very nice food, very nice decor, very friendly staff, food prices are expensive but decent for the current times, i enjoyed the mushrooms very tasty, very good place will be back more often. Keep up the good work, only improvement i could say is clean the glasses and cutlery a bit more :p, but otherwise fantastic, merry christmas everyone i be back in 2025

Rocked up here in Rawtenstall.... really enjoyed ourselves. Friendly and accommodating staff, top food and great atmosphere.... definitely going back.

Fortunately we live only a short walk away. Arrived to an empty restaurant and a warm welcome. The awful weather had caused diners to cancel and rebook. We ate wonderfully well and 4 other hardy souls braved the elements.

Bread stale, had gone hard as if it had been microwaved. Crispy potatoes were soggy but not as soggy as the filo parcels. Tzatziki inexplicably drowned in oil. Items meant to be hot items were at best tepid. Falafel was nice though.

Meat was fatty and disappointing chips (they didn’t taste homemade at all). Usually a lovely restaurant

Wow is all I can say 😄 That breakfast 🍳 was one of the best I've ever tasted. Presentation on point 👉 The decor was nice and really well seated with an upstairs area. I would go again, maybe for tea, I need to try some of them goodies!

Really friendly, clean, great food place in Rawtenstall. The beetroot dip with dukkah was amazing. The moussaka and veggie pizza were terrific too. Def recommended.

Food arrived cold. pizza went in the oven. chips went in the bin. The pollo pizza was extremely salty, and very unpleasant. won't be ordering again.

Good midweek...Haven't tried the weekend yet to sample the Turkish dancing night

I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Ahmed, who was in charge of the service, was attentive and made sure everything was perfect. The meal was absolutely delicious, and presented well. Incredible food served quickly and with care and attention. Busy on busy days as it's quite popular. Staff were great and helped us decide what to order. It's very easy to make a reservation on their website too.

Booked table for 8pm and on arrival was told we would have to be quick as they were closing at 9.30. Reminded through meal and rushed out at end which was disappointing and spoiled the evening. 8pm isn’t late to dine so wouldn’t go back. We weren’t informed when booking of the short time span to eat and get out.

Good quality and excellent service at this Turkish eatery. The mixed grill was very tasty indeed. The only thing I don't like is the television showcasing the weekly belly dancing, but I'm sure others wouldn't be too bothered. Will I return? Yes I will.

Unfortunately not up to scratch and not as good as attending the restaurant. Decided to try takeaway …. Not again. Garlic bread with cheese in restaurant ..full flat bread with cheese, defo worth £7.50… takeaway … 3 tiny bits of bread slice with a smattering of cheese, same price. Don’t bother with the takeaway, just get down to the restaurant!!!!

I went with my friend to have a drink at this place. We went to sit at the bar. There was a man sitting there. We sat next to him. He tried to chat my friend up by asking her about her trainers. We weren't interested so we replied but with no enthusiasm. He realised we weren't keen to talk so he stopped talking but he kept kicking my chair. I was patient thinking he did it accidentally. However, he continued kicking my chair. I turned around and asked him to stop kicking my chair. He was so rude. He said "you took this chair" probably meaning that he needed that chair to kick and I sat on it. I don't know. He looked at us so aggressively that we moved to sit away from him as it was scary to be near this man. He looked like he was the owner or someone who had some relevance to this cafe. We moved away, he moved the chair, I previously sat on, towards himself and put his legs on it. He kept playing some videos loudly on his phone disturbing all customers who were there. It was a very weird and unpleasant experience. I'll never go there again as I don't want my evening to be ruined by that rude and arrogant man. If you read another review, that man doesn't look like a customer. His musical preferences and the way he shares them with customers of the cafe was noticed by another customer who also complained about him on here. It actually was a member of staff because he went to the back a few times. Customers don't just get up and suddenly go to the kitchen. I would not be surprised that the person who replied was that man! 😄

Firstly just want to say La Turka is a lovely place, great staff & amazing food. The two of us attended with a 6 month old on Tuesday 30th Jan. We was quickly seen to & served by Christine. She was very accommodating with us all & very friendly. The service was super quick, we ordered off the 2 course lunch menu & got 3 drinks in total. The only thing I feel the need to mention is the ‘discretionary service charge’. We didn’t notice this until afterwards as it was never mentioned to us. It was on our bill, but as we chose to pay contactless, we didn’t actually notice it on the card machine screen as this is usually an option on those machines, nor on the bill as we was rushing to leave due to an unsettled baby. I rang this evening to query if this was a standard charge & Ibrahim informed me it is in the small print on the menu, which we must of missed, but also that it was optional & our server should of mentioned this to us & if we wasn’t comfortable in paying it, it would of been taken off our bill. Unfortunately this option wasn’t mentioned to us by Christine & on reflection, we wouldn’t have generally paid for it. Ibrahim was very understanding on the phone & has offered us some free drinks & money off our food on our next visit as a kind gesture which I think is a great reflection on the place/staff. Will definitely return now this has been rectified as it was our only issue. Everything else from deco, staff & food all great. One of the nicest places for both food & drinks in Rawtenstall.

Three stars isn’t a true reflection of La Turka as a whole, however we visited on a Saturday night and our table for two wasn’t great. Our table was in the window which would have been ok but for the ashtray on the wall outside were people stood and smoked. It made us uncomfortable. The noise in the restaurant was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak, everyone seemed to be shouting over one another! It was manic. I believe this place has a better atmosphere in the afternoons or nights when it isn’t crazy busy. All that being said the staff were fantastic, friendly and very attentive. We had a starter each, both were lovely. The main courses were ok. It’s not the cheapest place to eat in the town but it’s a nice alternative.

Delicious, we had the vegetarian sharing platter with extra whipped feta and extra falafel and left with very happy bellies. The aubergine dip was my favourite.

La turka is a very cheerful and uplifting place. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the staff were incredibly friendly. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each one bursting with flavor and were well prepared. I highly recommend La turka to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

Me and my friends always love coming here. The staff are always nice and the food is amazing. I think the wild mushroom gnocchi is the best, but my friends say the pizza is also really good.

Well. where do i start, ordered the pizza and it seems asif it was a make your own. didn’t know i had to cook it myself aswell, dough was raw and tasted rotten. i noticed their spin on sour dough, a touch of mould…i am completely repulsed and to charge that much money for a plate of mint cream is backwards, that also applies to their bipolar music taste. There seemed to be a member of staff blasting inappropriate music out of their phone, completely not appropriate. overall wouldn’t recommend. absolutely vile to say the least. stay clear of this place if you don’t want to spend the next 24 hours glued to the toilet. i have piles and need to be attached to a tube now.

They added a 10% service charge. I understand that people don't carry cash for tips, but give us a choice. Plus, more seriously, they stopped doing Ottoman Chicken - the reason I went back. Day ruiner.

Delicious, we got 2 sharing boards but we had way more dip than things to dip in it 😂

The overall experience was very good however the mixed chargrill was under seasoned, the chicken fillet was quite tough and there was too much donner meat which was quite bland. The Meatballs were delicious and so was the Sticky Toffee pudding. The service was faultless.

This wonderful restaurant has literally kept me alive. I am largely bedridden now because of my poor health and sometimes I just haven’t got the energy to try to get to the kitchen to get something to eat the food you sent me is absolutely wonderful and I bless you all.

We have just been to La Turka, and have been many times before. The food, service and atmosphere is always spot on.

My band were performing in Rossendale and on a strict schedule timing wise. We told the restaurant this and the food arrived quickly. Fantastic food and service. Hope to return again.

Great food served by friendly staff.

Portions are stupidly small for the price. The sizzlers are just a packet of those frozen carrots and peas reheated in sauce with 3 slices of meat/halloumi which for £17.95 is ridiculous, same is said for all other disses and everything tasted old and reheated.

Amazing portion sizes and a great selection of different dishes and great prices. The host that sat us and our waitress were lovely and friendly. We felt very welcomed and comfortable.

First time we have been for a while and really enjoyed the evening. Prawn Sizzler and Iskender mains followed by Baclava and coffees. Very tasty mains and superb desserts. Prompt attentive service - very polite and considerate staff. Will be back again soon.

Delicious food. Sharing platter with very tasty dips and small bites. Followed by excellent mixed skewers and a veggie moussaka. Great service and atmosphere. Even a bit of belly dancing entertainment. If it's cold, I'd suggest you don't sit near the draughty door.

I tried it here for the first time, excellent service and good food, 30% off offer was a nice bonus as I was unaware it was on but would still have eaten here, worth a visit if you haven't yet tried it, I will be returning.

Was very disappointed with the Xmas day food. The turkey dinner the plate was cold the carrots were cold the gravy was very watery and there was no stuffing. The chicken skewer starter was OK but a very small portion. The sticky toffee pudding wasn't actually a pudding but cake with caramel sauce. I expect to be full after a 3 course meal but was hungry soon after.

We often eat here for lunch and usually have the sharing platter or tapas, both of which are delicious. This time we went for dinner making the booking only 40 minutes before on line, quick and easy to do. We both had a different pasta dish and both were excellent. We had garlic bread to start and that was lovely too. Staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was great. Our favourite place to eat in Rawtenstall.

Food containers are too small. Wasn't closed properly. Lamb bursting out. Gravy burst out of the container and leaked into the silver wrapping. Portions are pathetic compared to when you go and sit inside the restaurant.

Absolutely love it here. First time we've been since change of management. Cannot fault the food/atmosphere or service. Only 1 negative comment. The bill added a surcharge of 10%, nowhere did I read this would be added to the bill.

Food was 10/10 very good amount for the price we had a group of 10+ people and they arranged it all for us.

Just been to La Turka and had a selection of meze and a pesto and chilli garlic bread which was ammmmazing! The meze were all piping hot and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Our waiter, Connor was particularly marvellous. Thanks for an excellent meal, we will be back soon!

Called in for an early evening meal, greeted nicely, service good, food was just OK. Lacked flavours and depth. Was hoping for a little more! Atmosphere would probably pick up in the evenings. Not bad for a quick bite.

I had a meal with my family Saturday just gone. I had a mixed sizzler and my mum had prawn linguine … my sister had spinach chicken. I have to say I had never had a mixed sizzler like this before it was amazing the flavours were out of this world Highly recommended for anyone visiting you will not find a sizzler like this anywhere else! The pasta dish my mum had was creamy and delicious also highly recommended the sauce for the spinach chicken the cream was so tasty and it complimented the chicken so well really brought the dish to life . I will be back this Saturday to try another dish similar to the ones we had last Saturday and to compliment the chef as his food was amazing!
