Antonio runs a fantastic restaurant. Quality, authentic Italian food. I visited with a guest from Milan and Antonio went the extra mile to prepare food 'off menu' for us. The antipasto was the best ever tasted. Always fresh food and cooked with passion.

El restaurante está en la planta baja del hotel woolmerchants.Este es un atractivo restaurante pero tiene una restricción de cortos períodos de apertura noche.Es muy razonable, con un variado menú italiano. El chef salió a discutir el menú. Nuestro filete con la comida dijo que tenía la mejor carne aquí, y él ha comido unos pocos en su tiempo. Todos disfrutamos de sus comidas.El bar está abierto sólo para el mismo período, ya que el bar, así que asegúrate de que puedes conseguir una bebida con la comida. Comimos allí la última noche. Una familia de 7. La comida era fantástica. Todos nosotros en nuestra platos. Mi sobrino de 5 años que es el mayor crítico de su pizza era increíble y me puede responder por que como yo sabía. La mayoría de nosotros tenía platos de pasta y tuve el salmón que era el mejor salmón que he probado un restaurante. Las patatas fritas eran caseros. Todo fue excelente. La comida y las bebidas eran muy razonables, nos quedamos impresionados. Puedes ver al chef mientras cocina, ya que es una cocina abierta que siempre es una buena señal. Servicio siempre con una sonrisa. Estamos alojados en el hotel y comer allí cada noche si podíamos, pero, desafortunadamente, el restaurante está cerrado 2 noches mientras estamos aquí. Altamente recomendado.

Nos alojamos en el Hotel Merchant lana para ir a un concierto en Halifax. Donde una carrera un poco tarde, así que decidimos comer en La Taverna, excelentes opciones de un menú, y precios muy razonables, se sirvió comida caliente y recién hecha y era abundante. El servicio era fantástico, así como muy amable, realmente disfrutamos nuestros platos de pasta y clasificado el Chef sardo como sus conocimientos de cocina donde evidente en su comida, visitará de nuevo en nuestra próxima estancia.

Great value for money, nice selection on the menu, food was piping hot and delicious. Decor could do with an upgrade though.

He comido aquí regularmente para los últimos 12 meses, cuando se alojen en el hotel por negocios de comerciante de lana. Antonio, el chef es genial y siempre hará todo lo posible para garantizar la comida que usted elija es genial. Si compramos algo especial, entonces él lo hará personalmente lo recomiendo, muy bueno. Las camareras son muy amables y agradables, una gran bienvenida a Yorkshire!

Excellent food, highly recommend Mushrooms in Garlic, Cream and Wine Sauce, Homemade meat balls in tomato sauce and the Sirloin steaks were fab.

The Sardinian chef was clearly wedded to his craft. Delicious thin crispy pizzas were on offer and were much enjoyed.

I stayed at the wool merchant and the meal that I have just had in this restaurant was disgraceful! The pasta looked like it had been pre cooked, the prawns were not fresh, the sauce was I do not know what and basically had so such salt in there there was enough to melt snow! Also the taste had an awful after taste which I did not quite work out. I also asked for some bread with olive to dip I might as well have been served rocks. The bread was toasted to within an inch of its life and was rock hard and black and no olive oil accompanied it either and the bead was not even garlic bread! I guess you do not expect much though for the price but will not be eating here again and am staying at the hotel for work in the future too...possibly the worst Italian food I have had and the waiter needs to smile occasionally and be there to serve people too rather than sat down doing not much at all! A let down.

We had booked a table well in advance and a week before our visit, my wife who is a veggie (and coeliac to boot) phoned up to advise them that she was coming and could they help. This has always been welcomed in the past as it helps them with pre-planning. Not here! We were blasted by the manager who wasn't even prepared to do a decent salad at a week's notice. So we didn't go and the food/service etc might very well be fine but don't expect politeness!

I stay at the hotel and eat here regularly. The chef never fails to exceed my expectations. The quality and value of the meals is hard to beat. The staff are friendly and efficient. I will miss this when I leave Halifax.

Lovely food, good menu choice, only downside is the lack of vinegar, chips and chicken can be very dry without it, would eat here again

The chefs at la taverna have great attention to detail and the starters were really good size and the main meals were so hard to choose because the choice was huge
