was looking forward to visiting La Roma Caffe but sadly it is closed and looks like its been some time now. Tried Paul - Boulangerie further up Bedford St instead.

Great little cafe very friendly. Food was simply amazing full English breakfast went down a treat not greasy or fatty.

Step off the busy, bustling and crowded streets of the Strand for a moment and visit this delightful little Italian Cafe. I found this place by pure chance walking through London last December, and would gladly return. Located on a small street just off the Strand, from the outside it looks like a picturesque Italian Coffee Shop - clean and welcoming, serving a variety of dishes for lunch. Upon entering we were greeted by the middle-aged Italian couple who ran it. The both of them were kind and patient as we chose what to order. I chose a Tomato Pasta dish and they bade us sit down. After a few minutes wait, the food was promptly delivered and it was quite simply delicious. For the affordable price, compared with the Sandwich-Bar-Style look of the place from the inside, one would expect it to be average, nothing special. I was gladly proved wrong. In fact, the lunch was so good that I straightaway returned to the counter and ordered another one - this time with a brie roll to go alongside. The lunch was definitely better than expected, with lovely staff in a lovely shop. Would definitely return, and recommend to anyone walking down the Strand over the big lunch chains also in the area.
