La Rokka Mediterranean Kitchen in Wakefield

We had a party of 28 part of the meals were last one meal turned up when we all had finished and a garlic bread was served when we all had finished.

The staff seemed more interested in a larger group of people. So much so, that they never asked if we wanted a dessert.

Beautiful food, lovely staff, very reasonable prices. Loved it.

Oh my gosh where do I start. The main man, I’m guessing manager, treats the girl so poorly and unprofessional when paying and managing finance. The food was ok, however the older staff were rude. They pulled a face when we didn’t book a table when it was an empty restaurant…. We gave the younger girls a tip as they were lovely and provided a good service, however we got the impression they wouldn’t get them. Yeah, all I have to say. Wouldn’t come back

We have been here before and the food was OK but this time the food was the best we've had anywhere. We had the calzone la rokka and the Kiev calzone, soo tasty. Compliments to the chef.

I came here on Saturday and the food was amazing and the service was ever so good the girls have been so friendly and helpful. I will defiantly be back here again soon :)

I really wanted Mediterranean vegetables with chicken.....got chicken stroganoff with what looked like ratatouille... more Italian than Mediterranean .....

Food we ordered was nice, would be nice to be told what you didn’t have when seated as most of the group picked steak or lamb then told you didn’t have any when ordering. Beer was totally flat, when told the guy behind bar he said it was because it was running out. Ordered desserts then another guy came to table and said ‘we’re shutting in 20 minutes’ so felt like we had to rush.

Visited La Rokka for the first time tonight. A warm greeting, cosy atmosphere, and delicious food (the steak was excellent!). Thank you for a lovely time! (The pictures show the garlic mushrooms, garlic bread with mozzarella, mix fish, and steak.)

Honestly I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this, the food is amazing beyond expectations, the service is lovely, will definitely be back ! It’s amazing 10/10 recommendation

The food was very good but we went on a Saturday afternoon which was very quiet and therefore lacked atmosphere. I expect it would be worth a visit in a group for a celebration or on an evening, as it looks Mediterranean with the decor, and they played music to match.

Visited here recently, absolutely lovely food, atmosphere brilliant would highly recommend.

Lovely food and restaurant. Staff are helpful and friendly. We went on a Thursday evening. Please don’t park in Morrisons car park even if advised as it really is only 2 hours. Take it from someone who’s just got a fine almost two weeks after the meal. £100 / £60 if paid within 14 days. I was going to park in Tesco as that’s 4 hours free but the parking meters said not in use. I don’t really know Pontefract so was unsure where to park but now I do and just take caution.

Very dry pizzas with a lot of crust for the size of the pizza and not much topping. Definitely overcooked as the crust was very hard.

Lovely meal, a very pleasant atmosphere, staff generally friendly and attentive.

very disapponting chicken stroganoff. chicken was processed and undercooked. couldn't eat.it . seasonal veg was 2 pieces of broccoli and 2 cauliflower with a few strips of carrot. all undercooked. the rice was nice but only a few tablespoons with main course. a disaster

No website to complain so have to do it here.prices have increased and meals smaller.served by an immature loud girl.dancing about singing leaving us stranded at door.then on her phone.then shouting "she might be autistic".to end I said keep change from bill.it was 60p.this wasn't a tip.the manager told her to send it back.if he thought that was an insult to his staff that's maybe for him to retrain them or maybe hire older staff rather than cheap labour.not proffesional passing her her wage cash in hand over bar

Clean, environment. Bit soulless. Overcooked calamari, couldn't cut with knife. Lamb was undercooked, dressing on salad tasted of salad cream. Only got 1 drink as couldn't grab a waitress. I won't send food back as I think that's rude. You asked for feedback so I'm being honest but I won't be back. I paid in full for what I ordered. Work went into creating the food so I paid for it.

Highly recommend! We had our Christmas works do here & the food was stunning, the staff were amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. My time here & I will definitely be visiting again soon.

The staff at La Rokka are absolutely exceptional! The food is piping hot, delicious and was delivered very quickly. I called to make an enquiry about a certain dish and and they made accommodations for me in no time. They are courteous, kind and extremely helpful. Will be returning!

Food was inedible, ordered Penne with Chicken and Ham, The chicken was vile, my first bite was enough to confirm it was not edible and had enough in the bowl to fill a child. I was asked if I would like anything else, but judging by my partner’s stale under cooked veg and burnt salmon and the state of the dish presented to me originally, I passed on the opportunity. Would never eat here again or recommend it. 27 minutes after seating we waited to order a drink, having been seated to the right of the bar. Terrible experience.

Foods always good just a little slow on service. But in saying that the staff are always polite and friendly Had a starter and main course at around £30 per head.

Went for Christmas dinner it was absolutely appalling. We got 2 roast potatoes,2 pcs of veg which was rock hard. 1.5 pcs of Turkey, 1 yorks pud. Spoonful of gravy. £55 never again

Took 2 hours to be delivered! Was told it wasn’t the restaurants fault it was down to just eat! Food was cold and soggy when it arrived and the calzone was missing garlic, rocket and spinach! Avoid!

I ordered the salmon Thermidol .. this was £16, it came a very small piece of salmon and very small portion of veg, literally 2 floret’s of broccoli and cauliflower, that’s it!!, no where near worth £15.95!!!

My wife and I visited la rokka today, 8th oct 23 at lunchtime for the early bird menu. The restaurant is as charming as you would expect for a Mediterranean eatery. The decor is well thought out and the seating is very comfortable. Our host, Sabri, was quietly spoken , attentive and charming. My wife chose from the early bird menu and I from the full one. The restaurant was quiet so we were served very quickly and our fare was exceedingly good. It was well seasoned but not overpowering. I would definitely recommend a visit and I can't wait to return. A quick mention for our waitress Phoebe, who, although our encounter was brief she made a good impression on us. Thank you.

Really lovely place great location near town centre food tasty but a bit pricey for what it is service great.

Just went for a bottomless last Sunday. A shame that not many other people there, but the food was amazing and so much of it. The bar manager was great and kept the drinks flowing, but we had to keep beckoning the waitress who was a little inattentive and not the cheeriest, but she did what she needed. I was so impressed by the food and atmosphere (background mediterranean music) that we are going back soon with other friends.

Food was ordered at 1544, after calling and restaurant saying the driver hasn't arrived, I had to order from somewhere else as my children where hungry

Delivery is on time and the food is still hot. Garlic bread, meatball and the lamb are great!

My wife and I visited la Roca for the first time on Sunday evening My wife had garlic mushrooms and pepperoni pizza from the early bird menu I had prawns and a calzone pizza Everything we had was cooked to perfection and was delicious.The service was very good We will definitely go again soon

Lovely clean surroundings, nicely decorated. Friendly staff who act in a professional manner. There is a good selection of food and drink. The tables are well spaced and really well cleaned. The starters were fresh and tasty although a little small. The pizza was excellent according to my husband and he is fussy. My mushroom risotto was amazing, perhaps the best I've had. It was tasty and beautifully seasoned. The rice was perfectly al dente and it was neither wet nor stodgy. I was a little disappointed that there was no offer of parmesan but it wasn't really needed anyway. The white house wine was good, not challenging and was uncomplicated. Dessert was simple but absolutely fine and well presented. I will look forward to another visit.

Small portions, lasagna could do with more flavour for me, I.e. garlic. Basil, oregano. Pasta cooked very well, also a bit of Parmesan on top would be good or an option.

Absolutely beautiful food. Fresh and quality ingredients. We have eaten at the restaurant and ordered for delivery, every time it has been lovely, would absolutely recommend.

I ordered rib-eye steak, well done. The steak that came was less than 1/4" thick, which was fine for me since I don't have a large appetite and it ensured it was well done, but my husband had toyed with ordering a steak and would have bern seriously disappointed with the steak that I received.

Steaks were nice, have had better but no complaints will certainly visit again. Warm day it was too warm for us so we sat outside which was also much quieter as the restaurant was busy. Staff were friendly especially the barman. No complaints what so ever.

All in all a lovely experience. The food is great, authentic and made quickly. The menu isn't the biggest but what is on there is perfect, great selection and quality. Staff are friendly, helpful. There is a small outside eating area at the front, but it is by the side of a main road, but under cover. No parking as such but the local supermarket store is directly behind so not a problem. Can get really busy at weekends so suggest booking ahead. Disabled access not a problem, also have toilet facilities on site. Well recommended, we have been a few times now and always consistent quality food, which to be honest is also reasonably prices too. Thank you and enjoy!

We went for the first time for the early bird 2 course menu during the week, £13. food was excellent. This is a relatively small restaurant but it's nicely decorated and has a small covered outside area that's probably nice when weather warms up. We'll be back.

Went here with my family for my sons birthday. The food was lovely, didn't have to wait long for food to arrive. The staff were amazing especially with the younger ones in our party who were 4,5 and 7 years of age. Definitely recommend!

Food was cold when it was delivered. Shame really as it’s very tasty food!

We arrived for dinner. I ordered Pollo a la creme, when it arrived it was cold, so sent it back, when it came back it was so salty that it was inedible. I told the waitress, and she just took it away. There were management there, however, they did not seem interested & did not bother to come over to apologise. All staff could clearly see that none of my meal had been eaten. My daughter ordered King prawn linguine in a red chilli tomato sauce, but all she could taste was paprika. My husband’s meal which was Mix Fish, did not look appealing. The fish just looked as if it had been heated up in the microwave,& stated was served with roast veg, but instead he got steamed veg. I asked for the bill, and there was no mention of how our meal was,& they were not busy & there were at least 5 waiting staff. Will not be returning, as service & food was extremely poor! The staff just did not seem bothered!

This was the first time ordering and the quality of the food was really poor; £9.50 for a salad and I received 2 pieces of halloumi plus the same amount of lettuce/salad you’d expect as a garnish. The bruschetta was also disappointing. Won’t be ordering again.

The lasagne was very tasty, but had to go straight in the microwave as it was stone cold on arrival, even though it was delivered in a tin foil tray

Wonderful early evening ‘party’ 7 children and 12 adults celebrating ruby wedding- great food, great service, will definitely recommend to friends and family for future events.
