Absolutely first class food, atmosphere and anything you want to add. Staff are amazing and do everything possible to accomadate you. Cannot rate highly enough

Myself and my Wife have been here several times now for anniversaries etc and the recent visit we bought our daughter along for my wife's 40th! The food has and continues to be top quality and perfect portion sizes! The atmosphere is great, low lighting, Italian music playing and although usually always packed, still spaced out enough to hold a conversation without hearing everyone else around. Staff have always been great, and very little wait times for food. Highly recommend booking as it's always busy.... For a very good reason!

The best thing Here is the staff and the service, They seem Genuinely Friendly rather than Forced to be. 2nd Is the Atmosphere, Very Nice, chill, Calm, Rustic but Morden at the Same Time. 3rd Id say is food. Nothing Wrong, but the other Two are just better. Food is good, you won't make a Wrong Decision going there. BUT, I'd say the Prices are a Bit way too much personally. £18 for a pizza! I know it's next To Cheddar Gorge but Location and Taste Don't Justify it. But if you're there definitely Go there, Waaaayyyyy better Option than the Kebab shop!

I popped in on the off chance, no table booked. But, was seated straight away and my order taken in good time. I very much enjoyed my Linguine Pescatore along with a lively pilot blush. My waitress was lovely and you could tell she enjoyed her job. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again when in the area.

I had the Saltimbocca Alla Romana. It was one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten. The service was impeccable

It was the 2nd time we came back La Rocca Bar & Restaurant and had our lunch here as we celebrated with my husband’s birthday. The starters Gamberoni and Capesante - both superb, presentable and amazingly delicious!!! Then we decided to have our main lunch there - my birthday husband had Fillet Steak and myself had Linguine La Rocca - again both smashing and amazingly delicious!!! The service crew are friendly and we never had a chance to know her name this female staff who is always very accommodating with her vibrant beautiful smile. The positivity atmosphere, friendliness of the staff and the location of the restaurant are all two thumbs up 👍👍 . Next year we will definitely come back to Cheddar Gorge and we will come back here. Overall the food was lovely but we had a slightly longer wait for our mains than we would liked but in general a nice experience

Great decor but felt the food didn’t match. Some pieces of calamari were so chewy it was impossible to eat them, our bruschetta hadn’t been toasted so bread was soggy, and pizzas quite doughy almost like the oven wasn’t hot enough. Good quality toppings though. Good cocktails and wine list.

Booked a table on the website, saying we have a dog,looked on reviews it said dog friendly, on arrival only to see that dogs are not allowed inside, was told we could seat outside, this was not a option, it would be better to say no Dogs on your website. We didn't eat here found another place which allowed dogs.

We use this restaurant whenever we go to cheddar, the atmosphere is lovely and this time was our anniversary which they made a little special so a big thank you .

This is a wonderful authentic restaurant. The food portions are large and the food is amazing. Freshly cooked by some great chefs and served by fabulous waitresses. Lovely atmosphere with friendly locals.

I love this place - good quality pizza and a decent range other food at reasonable prices. The staff are great too. Would recommend booking, especially on a Friday or Saturday

Nice place in a lovely setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and extremely hot. Slight criticism....... addition of a small side salad or a slice of garlic bread with the lasagne would have been nice

We visit cheddar about 6 or 8 times a year, this place is always at the top of our must do list, trouble is it .becomes regular

Visited on a very busy Sunday and had a tasty and filling lunch. I enjoyed the gnocchi, and my husband liked the lasagne and the garlic bread. My tomato salad was plentiful and the cheesecake was good, too. Would definitely return when next in the area.

The food was delicious. We had delicious mushrooms on toasted bread followed by spaghetti carbonara & Linguine pescatore mains. The waiting team work incredibly well together. Reflecting on our evening .. we were seamlessly looked after by 3 different (all lovely) waitresses, and our drinks were delivered by the bar tender.

We stayed in Cheddar as a stop-over on the way down south. Dinner at La Rocca was very enjoyable, the restaurant has a great setting, comfortable and busy. Food was of a high standard and we were all very pleased with our meals.

Turned away for being too busy even though half the tables are empty and other people are waiting to order who have just arrived... Update, I walked past an hour later after I had ate elsewhere and there was still tables available... By your reply you are just an arrogant twàãt and all I got shown was a finger crossing left to right saying no! Also what type of restaurant does not take in walk in customers, on a note reading your other reviews we had a lucky escape

We were staying in a hotel in the area and booked here after a search on the internet. We went as a family and were very pleased. Nice and clean, lovely setting, staff and service to a good level. Food was very good, so much so we went the following day for dinner also! Very much recommend. I recommend to book as it does get busy.

If I can give 0 stars I work but obviously I need to give them one because if I don't then I can't make my comment the member of staff that served us was very rude we stay in cheddar most of the time when we got a holiday we won't be eating in there ever again not worth the money and not worth the aggro I know that you got a book in advance and that's great the on the several occasions that we've been going there we've been turned away several occasions just the way they speak to you I want occasion we went there and we were told to wait for a table and clearly the tables were vacant but there wasn't anybody sit in there there was no reserved on the table 2 hours

Lovely italian restaurant in the middle of Cheddar. Great food and lovely service. Only two bug bears, the restaurant was a little on the pricey side and the boy racers driving up and down the gorge were a pain in the ears. Admittedly we were sitting outside...

Visited Cheddar gorge. Didn't fancy any of the little teashops so we went to this restaurant. We were met by two of the friendliest young girls. I am vegan and they went over and above to ensure that my food didn't lack any taste ,substituting ingredients before the order was handed to the chef. My husband and I ordered the calzone. When they came they were the size of a folded tray with an accompanying side salad with a delicious dressing. Both were packed with fresh ,tasty ingredients. Mine vegan,my husband's meat. The ambience, service and food could not be faulted. It's only a shame it is over 4 1/2 hours drive from where we live.

This spot is amazing for family’s! We had a calzone and the spaghetti carbonara and it was phenomenal. We also had garlic bread and parmesan and the garlic mushrooms and they were outstanding! The employees went above and beyond to give us the best experience as possible. They are extremely welcoming. I would definitely recommend!

Food was faultless. Service was faultless. Our waitress couldn't do enough for us, even went over the road to get ketchup for our 5yr old daughter as they had run out. The waitress was also very polite and always smiling. Genuinely a really good experience.

We had a recent meal for two when at Cheddar for the evening. The soup was tasty with fresh tomatoe flavours and it seemed well balanced. A burnt garlic pizza bread was sent to the table and promptly sent back to the kitchen for a replacement. Why let it leave the kitchen like that in the first place ? My main of chicken and potatoes was very average as the sauce tasted like it lacked seasoning. My partner had a risotto and suggested she could make it better at home. Soft drink prices are very expensive but the view outside and indoors are rather pretty. Unlikely to return for the future or to recommend.

Well another year another meal at La Rocca Cheddar. Staff and the food was again fantastic only problem it’s another weeks gym work to work off the food. Highly recommend this restaurant and its staff. We come to Cheddar every year and this is our go to restaurant, thanks again to the team at La Rocca see you soon.

Lovely resturant right near the caves. Absolutely beautiful mussels. The tomato sauce that the mussels were in was so tasty. Sat outside by the lovely babbling brook Professional friendly staff Reasonably priced too.

Outstandingly good food. Every dish we tried was excellent. We have been twice and will be going back many more times. I thought Cheddar would be all chips and low quality takeaways: I was so wrong. Sure there is standard chips etc around but the food here was superb and portions large.

We had an outstanding meal at La Rocca, the food was amazing, the staff were so friendly and helpful, all round wonderful experience and well recommended. We will definitely be making a reservation when we return on holiday.

We have been here in October last year and had no complaints, it was lovely. However we came back today and the food was not satisfactory. Steak was dry, risotto was bland and the muscles were so fishy and rubbery that my partner was sick twice whilst here. When we raised the concern to the manager, he told us muscles aren’t in season, which is fair enough but they still shouldn’t make a person sick. He didn’t have the best attitude towards our complaint, basically just took the service charge off of our bill. The waitress however were very lovely.

Food was lovely, big portions at a great price. We got lucky getting a table walking in around 5pm on a Friday so I'd definitely recommend booking in advance

Really lovely restaurant and excellent food. They were fully booked on the night we went and there was 13 of us. Service was excellent, very professional and friendly. Wonderful choice of food on the menu. All the food was fresh, well cooked and presented on hot plates. Sadly, had no room left for deserts, but hopefully, next time. The premises were well decorated, clean and had a lovely friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning next time I visit my relatives.

Quick flexible service with a smile. We turned up early and they accommodated us, served great food fast.

An absolute treat! Had chicken with mushrooms etc in a lovely tomato sauce and SeaBass with Mediterranean veg - perfectly cooked and presented. For dessert - Panna Cotta and Tiramisu - really nice. Had a bottle of Montepulciano D'Abruzza - excellent. Finished with double espressos and Limoncellos. A real treat! Service excellent. Food perfect. Ambience busy and vibrant. What a way to finish our holiday in Cheddar - just wish we lived nearer to this wonderful place wirh hard working staff.

No staff, poor service, and people were being turned in a very rude manor for not having a booking but clearly the pace was half empty.

We liked the dessert better (tiramisu thumbs up), risotto were average, would not recommend the linguine and sirloin steak.. some food options may not be worth the price. Anasta arrosto was good would recommend. Service was good, polite and very helpful. Ambience is good, cosy.

We ate outside, and it was fabulous. Bathrooms were in need of both an update and service. Pizza was solid. We, four of us, would return for sure

We went to La Rocca yesterday for lunch whilst visiting Cheddar, had a Pizza and some salad, Pizza was fine, salad was VERY salty! Worse was the aggresive nature of one of the staff. We had paid when we ordered the food, had the food then left to walk through Cheddar. On our way back past La Rocca we were accosted by one of the staff demanding payment for the meal. I explained we had paid when we ordered it, only to be told, "No we hadn't!" When I told her which member of staff we had paid, she initally claimed she had left for the day, then she rang her up and was told by her colleague we HAD paid! She offered a weak apology and some free coffee which we declined. I told her, that before accusing anyone of stealing, she needed to check her facts ( i.e. speak to the person who took our order and we paid!), then there would be no need for this poor review

Yet again a fantastic meal at La Rocca . Service and staff are absolutely brilliant. Food was amazing , atmosphere and surroundings are superb . The really nice thing is that all ages are welcomed here, we had the youngest at 2 and eldest at 92 . So it makes for a great family experience. Large table of us and we all enjoyed our meals . First class as always

Have nothing bad to say at all! All I can say is amazing!! Food was perfect so delish the lasagna was the best I have ever tasted so much to choose from and very quick service! and our waitress (gina)was so lovely and helpful we live an hour away and it was definitely worth the travel will 100% be back! Me and my partner spent our 1st valentines night here and it will certainly take some beating to become it in the future. The staff were brilliant and friendly and the food was absolutely amazing from starter to dessert. We are not from the area and all the local people recommended this restaurant and it certainly didn't disappoint us. We will definitely be going again when we are next in the area.

We went on a Saturday night. Really busy, but very well organised so the staff were able to cope. Very friendly. A real buzz about the place. Food was excellent. Price was okay. And the spectacular tumbling stream just outside the front door was the icing on the cake! Highly recommended.

Honestly the best restaurant we have been to in years. So lucky to have it on our doortstep. Not a fault in the food, service or setting. Perfect for a family meal, friends get together or a date night. It ticks ALL the boxes!

I had an enjoyable experience, it was very busy but the food was good!

I have been by this place dozens of times and always thought it looked good. A night off so thought I would take the wife. Friend said "Best to book"..damn glad I did it was heaving!! The food was excellent service excellent staff brilliant. I did look at less favourable reviews before I booked...with a venue as popular as this you might be wiser to book. The portions are not huge but the flavours presentation were excellent and you won't starve! My only gripe and it is very minor...cheese board too much cheese and biscuits some butter grapes and celery would make a big difference. Is certainly one I will recommend on and use again
