La Pizzica - Italian (Apulian) Restaurant & Pizzeria in Hammersmith and Fulham

I visited this Italian restaurant in Fulham last Wednesday, and the experience was truly memorable. As soon as we arrived, the owner greeted us with a big smile at the door, like a true host. From the first moment you feel at ease, as if you were a guest at an old friend's house rather than a customer in a restaurant. The place is simple, but very welcoming and clean. It is spread over two floors: the lower one is also available for private events, which makes it perfect for parties and dinners with friends. The cuisine is authentically Apulian, simple but of the highest quality. I ordered a pasta with tomato sauce - apparently a banal dish - which turned out to be a real treat, thanks to the homemade durum wheat semolina pasta. If you are lucky, you can watch the preparation: the pasta is made in plain sight. A special mention goes to the orecchiette with turnip tops with Apulian taralli crumble: a typical dish that expresses all the passion for Salento cuisine. The ingredients are genuine and well valued, and you can feel the owner's love for his land, Lecce and Puglia. We also tasted a platter of cold cuts - truly excellent - in addition to the potato croquettes and the arancini, both classic and with mushrooms. Divine! The breading is crunchy and perfect, not greasy. Along with the platter we also tasted the excellent focaccia! I didn't have time to taste the dessert: my son devoured the entire tiramisu served in a characteristic jar. Considering how quickly it disappeared, I can only imagine how good it was! In addition to the excellent cuisine, the restaurant is also a meeting point for the Salento community in London: it hosts the Club Lecce, where fans and enthusiasts gather to watch the football matches of their favorite team together. A true corner of home for Lecce residents abroad. In addition, every November 11th (San Martino) a big Salento festival is organized, with folk songs, music and a joyful atmosphere that transmits all the warmth of southern Italy. Finally, a note of merit also to all the staff, kind, helpful and always smiling. It is not only the owner who makes you feel at home: each person who works here contributes to creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. In conclusion, it was a warm and authentic experience, which made me forget I was in London. I will definitely return. Congratulations to the whole team!

I had the gnocchi and it wasn't anything special. They're supposed to be homemade but they tasted the same as what you get from the supermarket, they weren't light like homemade ones. The tiramisu was way too sweet and had no coffee flavour.

I would give 10 starts if I could! My fiancé and I visited for late lunch (a lot of places close at 3pm and reopen at 5/6pm in Fulham so we were very pleased you were open!) and had the whole place for ourselves and the very own owner serving us with the most amazing Italian food you can ever have! Do not hesitate for a second to come to this place, the vibe the music the staff the space and the FOOD were all so amazing that we felt very sad to be leaving. Honestly your pizza and tiramisu especially were unreal and we can’t wait to come back!!!! Grazie mille ♥️

Tiramisu was inedible, I had to throw it away. It was cooked with expired ingredients and smelled and tasted off. Pizza arrived cold but tasted okay.

We came on holiday to London to celebrate my birthday and we wanted to eat Italian!! We found this little place through Google and decided to stop!!! A nice and spacious place with background music. We were welcomed by Danilo, the manager, with kindness and professionalism, who made us sit at the table! The service was fast and the meatballs we ordered...sublime!! Really delicious!!! I recommend them!!! Even the pizzas must have been good seeing them on the plates next to them!!! We also had the opportunity to have a chat with Danilo and we were very pleased!!!! At the end of dinner he was so nice to give me a small gift for my birthday!! Much appreciated. Thank you so much!!! We will definitely return whenever we want to eat excellent quality Italian food and feel at home!!!

Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The food did take a while to arrive, but the staff were very attentive and it was nice not to feel rushed.

Pains me to say it, but sadly left this highly rated italian quite disappointed. I frequently have italian food all over London, including several places throughout the Fulham area, and unfortunately this was the first time in my life I have had to complain about the food. We started with the Arancini (£10). It was OK, although a slightly strange taste, not really what we expected and we ended up leaving over half of it. For mains we had the Seafood Pasta (£22) and the Grilled pork neck meat & potatoe puree (£20). The pasta was just OK, no problems necessarily but nothing particularly special, a slight disappointment as we came with high expectations. The grilled pork neck & potatoe puree was not up to scratch, in my opinion; it had a strange taste and was very salty. The pork was not up to temperature in the middle and was very pink, I ended up leaving over half of this. In addition to the above, the mains were brought to us completely out of sync, with the pork arriving quite some time before the pasta. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning. The staff were generally nice and accomodating, and they did offer to provide me with another main course, however, I declined this as everything I had eaten up to this point was disappointing. It's worth noting that I only made a comment in regards to the grilled pork main course, and didn't mention our dissatisfaction with the starter to our server. When the bill came, the staff had charged half price for the pork main, which was appreciated. That said, the bill still came to £83 (including a £25 bottle of wine) and we both left hungry and disappointed. I ended up picking a pizza up from another italian on the way home. From the sound of the other reviews, this sounds like a one-off and/or the dishes we selected they were having issues with. That said, our server said the grilled pork dish is one of their most popular dishes, so who knows. I'd consider returning and giving it another shot in the future to see if we just got unlucky.

Perfect Italian food, As a regular of the deli I wanted to see where the magic happens and oh boy does it happen. I went for Mother’s Day, I had a crab pasta with chunks of real crab so good you could taste the sea, my mum tried the special pizza and it was incredible. The tiramisu was devoured in about 2 minutes and had us fighting for it ! The service was lovely, the owners were present and super welcoming. A lovely experience for sure!

Such a warm welcome fabulous food charming staff we went next door first a wine bar but glad we didn’t stay owners were rude .the evening at this place was 10/10 good food quite busy a delight. Came again today best focaccia bread in Fulham and once again staff and owners were so charming and friendly this little Italian restaurant is such a oasis in Fulham road again 10/10

I can't recommend enough la Pizzica restaurant. The food's unbelievably good, and you can tell they use only premium grade ingredients. Everything was delicious and topped up with an impeccable service, the guys are so friendly and energetic!! Super thumbs up for la Pizzica !

Looking for a friendly local Italian then this is it. We stumbled in, on a very busy Saturday afternoon ahead of watching a football game at Craven Cottage. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us on a very busy Saturday. Pizzas came out very quickly and we made it in time for the game. Will definitely be back.

During our stay in Fulham, we had the pleasure of dining there on two evenings, recommended by our relatives. The experience was exceptional from every point of view. The place is welcoming and with attention to detail, with an atmosphere that transports you directly to Italy. The staff, friendly and attentive, immediately made us feel at home, a special greeting to Danilo. The menu offers a variety of typical Italian dishes, with particular attention to the quality of the ingredients. The pizza, cooked to perfection, with an authentic flavour. Even the first and second courses were a triumph of flavours, don't miss the meatballs in sauce! It is the best place in London It is one of the best places that but my life It has good prices, the pizza makes a very good dough then also One It is very good and for me I would go eat every day it has a great service a great atmosphere. The service is exceptional, the food is one of the best places I have ever been to in London and the quality is very noticeable, the price is reasonable. The cleanliness of the site, both the bathrooms and the restaurant itself, is also appreciated.

It is a very warm and welcoming restaurant close to Fulham Palace with a welcoming staff. The food was amazing and the staff was very helpful in choosing. The wine selection is versatile and of high standard. Everything was delicious.

This is Italy. Convivial Italian staff. Italian food to die for. OMG, so love this place. If I had to eat here for the rest of my life…. Life would be perfect. I booked for my birthday, for a big group (10), and all of the food was absolutely incredible! Some of best Italian food that we’ve tried in London. I definitely want to visit the Puglia region of Italy now. The pastas we had were particularly good - and freshly made- and they had so many specials/interesting wines. The staff were also so friendly and patient, even though quite a few of us arrived at different times, and we took a while to sort out our orders. I couldn’t recommended a better place if you’re trying to book for a lot of people, it had a great family feel too. (Plus all the food arrived warm and pretty much at the same time!). They also let me bring my own cake! (Always good to know!)

Excellent trattoria with delicious food and friendly staff. The food is simple but very tasty, with a wide range of Italian specialities. It’s always tempting to think you could make this at home yourself, but you can’t! Our first time, but sure to be many more.

Wonderful! A great place to host a teenage birthday party. Beautiful atmosphere. The room downstairs was perfect for a gathering for 20 but can hold more. Gianluca was so helpful and accommodating. Food and drink was excellent. Staff especially Giovanni were lovely and professional. Will definitely come again.

The best restaurant in London! We enjoyed very much the food and the atmosphere. Nice selection of gluten-free dishes for my partner. We loved the Funghi Trombetta starter (you must try it). My partner swears that the gluten- free pizza (Calabrese- 4cheeses - his favourites) is the best he ever had! I love all the deserts and the wine list has some very good labels at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and attentive. They recognise us and great us warmly. We truly enjoy that.

Food good, service friendly to very cordial. However, there were two things that detracted from the experience: The staff were talking very loudly during our visit, at times we couldn't hold a conversation. In addition, a pasta-cutting machine in the dining room was cutting the whole time, which certainly had a romantic cuisine effect at the beginning, but after a short time was just annoying.

I enjoyed my gluten free pizza. Food tastes good and staff were friendly. Nice atmosphere too. Will go back again.

Excellent in every way. Superb food - way beyond the staples of a standard Italian (the trumpet mushrooms were absolutely phenomenal). Friendly and prompt service. Dog and child friendly, but without that detracting from the atmosphere of just a great local restaurant. One to recommend to your friends, but only those you really like...!

Nice cozy restaurant. Food was not as tasty as expected, probably because of the local ingredients. The atmosphere was vibrant so overall it was ok.

Arrived for lunch just on opening, welcomed and offered water until they were officially opened. Had fettuccine with seafood which was delicious followed by a beautifully simple panna cotta. Good bottle of wine to accompany. Family restaurant serving very good and authentic food. Recommend highly. Not cheap but worth the price.

Toll! Der Gastgeber ( Besitzer ? ) unwahrscheinlich nett und hilfsbereit. Sind zum ersten mal in London und wir haben gefragt wo in der Nähe ein Supermarkt ist damit wir uns Wasser für den Abend kaufen können. Wir haben einfach zwei Flaschen Wasser zum Abschied geschenkt bekommen. Wir kommen wieder! Vielen lieben Dank.

Einfach nur mega mega lecker! Wie waren spontan hier am unserem ersten Abend in London, und tatsächlich war dies mit die beste Pizza, die wir je gegessen haben! Vor allem die Carbonara und die Quattro Formaggi (die besser Death by Cheese heißen sollte) waren der Hammer, aber auch die Parma und die Capricciosa waren absolut top! Die Bedienung war extrem freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sehr gerne jederzeit wieder! Ach ja: die Pizzen sind so groß, dass wir am nächsten Tag noch was davon hatten.

Finally a typical Apulian restaurant in London. I'm from the region and can confirm that the dishes I tried are very well representative of our cuisine at honest prices for London. It is a very nice and familiar place, service is informal and pleasant. Ps. I was told you can watch Serie A matches of Lecce football team there as well which is a great plus! Will be back soon!

Gianluca and his team are running the best Italian in Fulham. Been coming here for years- and £15 corkage if you want to pack a special bottle. Highly recommend the carbonara pizza- Love it here

Brilliant. Best Italian around.

We came to this place for dinner after an event at Fulham Palace - what a delight! Our waitress Alex was full of recommendations, and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in. The fragola was delicious, and so was the special (wild boar pasta). Desserts were exquisite (proper gelato ice cream and chocolate mousse to die for). At under £30 per person (exc. drinks) for amazing Italian dishes/desserts, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Every single dish was amazing. The chef creates beautiful flavors. I've eaten all over Italy and this kitchen is producing enchanting, flavorful, well executed dishes that compare to anything I've had in my travels.

What a lovely dinner! The roasted vegetables with goat cheese are amazingly good. Staff were gracious, and the chef was a delight!

One of the worst experiences I ever had in this restaurant- I went to dine in today around 9pm and the restaurant was totally empty. I went and sit down while I was waiting for someone to serve me or bring me the menu. After a minute I was approached by the manager and he tried to give me a lecture on how I should have waited for him to tell me where to seat(the restaurant was empty) and that he was giving me some educational advise and I was asked by the same person if I ever been to a restaurant to eat before . At time point I was so shocked, disappointed and disgusted by the comments the manager made that I stood up and left this restaurant and I have promise myself that I won’t go or pass again .Very bad customer service and no manner to speak to customers. Disgusting !

Excellent culinary experience. Great Italian restoration, with proper comfort food and genuine quality ingredients cooked like you'd get it cooked in Italy. The service was also very attentive to our needs and gave us millefogli on the house as a treat. Would recommend to a friend.

One of the best Apulian restaurant in London. Excellent food and impeccable service. We celebrated an event with set menu and Gianluca and Alex made sure everything went well from the beginning until the end. We had a vegan, a vegetarian, and not beef eaters- they made sure food wasn't contaminated and the right food arrived to the right people. Can't recommend enough!

This is our go to local Italian place. Authentic food from Puglia. Great specials in addition to an authentic standard menu. And the wine selection isn't too shabby either. Highly recommended.

Wow. We had just flown in from Australia to reunite with our daughter after a few months. The night could not have been more perfect. Apart from the food being authentic and sublime, the service was stunning. It will be a night to remember. Lucky we booked as the place was packed!! Clearly a favourite with the locals.
