Fabulous space to meet and connect with friends. No blaring music, calm atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food.

Lived here for years and never knew this gem was here! A bit of a time warp in a good way and the food looked a bit dated but tasted exceptionally good.

Arranged a delivery for 3 adults. 2 orders of pasta, a cheese garlic bread and a pizza. On delivery the pasta was acceptable however the pizza had been placed on its side and all of the pizza had slid in a single heap. Contact with the business blamed it on the delivery personnel and there was no further interaction. I have been eating at this facility since 2014, however from this time forward that will cease. If you want good service and integrity don't patronize this business.

I have been eating in this excellent little restaurant for years, the food is always freshly cooked and authentic. They serve the best pizzas I have ever tasted. Its also very reasonable price for this day and age.

I want to tell everybody about this hidden gem of a restaurant. I took my partner our son, and his daughter and her boyfriend to Catford.

Great spot with authentic, good quality food at a very reasonable price. House wine good value too. Owner came from Bologna in 1989. Would recommend and return.

I've been coming to this "off the beaten track" eaterie for over 20 years & never fails to disappoint me. Whether it's a family birthday, date night or just with friends, I can't recommend highly.

Wonderful food and really attentive service. So pleased my favourite restaurant survived lockdown and Brexit. They had a few problems, like all restaurants at the beginning of the year, getting staff. but now are back to offering a relaxed atmosphere with excellent food. Families and children, sole diners, couples or big parties are welcome and made to feel at home. The Pizzas are fantastic but everything on the Specials Board is fabulous too. Sea bass fillets and Salmon and king prawn linguine are my favourites and all is good food , reasonably priced

We both work in central London and regularly go to fancy restaurants, but this place's food quality is exceptional for the price! from the outside it may look like a basic pizzeria, but inside is fantastic simple Italian cooking at its best! We booked this restaurant on recommendations from friends and visited on 30/10.On arrival we were greeted by the gentleman making the pizzas and it went downhill from there. The waitress ( one with short dark hair) had trouble finding our booking ,after looking I saw it was clearly written in the book although there was bit of confusion over how many i had booked for (2).We were shown to a table at the back , there was no offer of a drink or menus delivered. We sat at the table for around 10 minutes. There were quite a few people at the tables but no one had seemed to have been served any food. There were a lot of raised voices from the kitchen area and appeared to be confusion with orders. Eventually the same waitress bought us the menus, once again there was no offer of a drink or any explanation of the specials boards on the wall and away she went. There was a second waitress working .After being in the restaurant around 15 minutes we decided to leave. More customers had arrived and it was clear the service wasnt going to improve .We were very disappointed by the intial experience after making a special journey to eat here. A very strange visit

This is our local Italian and is one of the best places to eat in Catford. My wife’s parents thoroughly enjoyed it as we normally do. It will be good to continue supporting local businesses during this difficult time! They deserve it, food is excellent!

Didn't know this was in Catford, lovely hidden little spot making you feel like you are out of London. Pizza was lovely and my partner had the scallops and prawn which she loved. Wine was nice and the desert portions were big. Finished off with a nice limoncello (can't spell it). Will come with the kids next time.

Had a lovely takeaway pizza during the Covid 19 period. Staff were polite and friendly despite being busy. Social distancing was strictly adhered to which was appreciated. Will use again. Nice local restaurant that deserves the business !!

Decidimos comer en el último minuto y no habíamos estado aquí en mucho tiempo. Apareció un viernes por la noche y dijo que no habíamos reservado, muchas de las mesas habían reservado. Nos dieron una mesa encantadora. La comida era increíble, el pan de ajo para comenzar seguido de Risotto y linguine alle vongole, dos postres y una copa de vino, llegaron a 40 incluyendo la propina. Los servicios fueron excepcionales y la comida era absolutamente deliciosa. No dudaría en recomendar, como dijo un amigo, la mejor pizza de este lado de Italia.

The food at la Pizzeria Italiana is second to none, made with love to melt the heart as well as the tastebuds. The service is prompt and friendly, with the owner and his staff helping to create a convivial family atmosphere, welcoming customers like friends. I love this place, and if I had any reason not to recommend it, it would only be that I didn’t want too many people knowing the secret!

Tucked away in an unassuming corner of Catford, this little gem offers great pizzas and inspired meat and fish dishes.

Wonderful food and service at a great price. The fish stew cannot be beaten anywhere in South London and the pizzas and pasta are always top quality.

Add ever, the food was superb, especially the fish stew and the spaghetti vongole. But I should also mention that, despite it being Valentine's Day, despite the place being full, and despite us running late and having to move our reservation back 30 minutes, the service was superb! This place is exactly why you should never judge a book by its cover. From the outside it is unavoidably grim, but once you walk inside it's just lovely from start to finish.Very friendly staff, quick and attentive service, relaxing atmosphere and genuinely delicious food. My Mrs loved the wine so much she wanted to buy a bottle to take home and the owner fell over backwards to give us what he thought was a fair discount, which we had never asked for. Really sweet guy.We will be returning regularly for sure, thank you for a great dinner.

Booked a table for my wife’s birthday, everything started okay. Starters were lovely then the mains arrived. I ordered steak, medium rare, that’s how it came. Problem was, it was cold and flavourless so I decided not to eat it. The owner asked what was wrong as I had not complained, I told him and he removed the food without an apology. I said it was not an issue and I would still pay as I did not want to cause a problem. Next thing I knew, he’s back at my table with a temperature probe telling me it food should be cold as it’s medium rare, wtf. I told him I did not appreciate him doing that and I had agreed I would pay, that as a customer it my opinion that counts and I don’t like being made to look foolish in front of other customers, with that he told ME that he did not like me saying this to him and walked away. We asked for the bill and had to wait 20 minutes, when I questioned the wait I was told it was because I had complained about my food and I did not need to pay. I said that was crazy as the remainder of the food was not bad and asked to pay for this, I paid and we left. Such a shame that the owner took an approach like this, such poor customer service from a local restaurant. Needless to say we will never return and advise if you do go, don’t complain or the owners will embarrass you in front of the restaurant.

Todos estaban bastante hambrientos, así que no había dudas sobre los antipasti, sino directamente para ordenar el plato principal. La mayoría de los adolescentes más jóvenes estaban ansiosos por comer pizzas, aunque mi hija de 16 años fue por su spaghetti carbonara favorito. Mi propia elección fue linguine alla pescatora, de la cual tuve algunas buenas versiones durante mi última semana en Roma. Pedí lo que se describió como pan de ajo para acompañarlo, pero lo que vino fue una focaccia encantadora y ligera. Era grande, así que pude compartirlo.Era una noche de escuela, un martes, por lo que no se suponía que fuera una comida larga y borracha, pero los adultos lograron pasar un par de botellas de un buen vino tinto entre ellos. Los jóvenes eran muy buenos y estaban pegados al agua corriente del grifo.Los postres eran imprescindibles para casi todos. Había tenido algo muy similar en un restaurante sardo en Roma y había estado delicioso. Es una pena no haberlo notado en el menú aquí! Le siguieron los cafés, cuando llegó el momento de regresar a casa ya que la mayoría de las personas tenían que levantarse temprano para ir al trabajo o la escuela.El proyecto de ley, que dividimos entre las diversas familias, llegó a 214. 00 para los doce, sin incluir ningún cargo por servicio. Pensé que era muy razonable para lo que habíamos tenido y nos aseguramos de dejar una propina adecuada.Creo que no lo dejaré hasta el próximo cumpleaños antes de volver allí.

So pleased we finally made it to this restaurant. A true hidden gem in Catford, with a window full of glowing reviews covering the view to cosy inside. A delicious, authentic menu with so many good things to choose from. Service was warm, attentive, kind and helpful. We had a good chat! It was busy and everyone looked happy, what more can I say... Super comida a precios muy razonables. Tuve uno de los especiales: gambas y ravioles de vieira. Delicioso, bien hecho al chef. Está ocupado y supongo que para algunas personas se sentirá un poco básico. Pero si está interesado en una comida de buena calidad hecha con mucho cuidado, definitivamente vale la pena probar este lugar.

Había escuchado mucho sobre este modesto restaurante que se encuentra en la esquina inferior de un edificio estilo torre en Catford. Lo pasé a menudo y nunca lo pensé dos veces. Don’t be put off by the outside surroundings. This is a great local restaurant. The food is excellent - traditional Italian food. There is an excellent menu selection (fish, seafood, pasta, pizza) with a specials board full of choices. The service is prompt with charming, helpful staff and a warm welcome. The restaurant is always full so recommend booking but they will happily make room for you if they can.

Tuve el placer de visitar esta pequeña joya de restaurante con mi hija y mi pareja, que viven localmente y regularmente frecuentan este restaurante. Mi hija siempre elogia la comida aquí, así que estaba muy ansioso por visitarla. Recibimos una muy cálida bienvenida por parte del propietario, que también resultó ser nuestro servidor. Mi hija y mi compañero eligieron de la junta de especiales, pero como no quería una salsa de crema, pedí un plato del menú. El caballero fue muy servicial y pude pedir un increíble plato de langostinos en ajo y aceite de oliva servido en una salsa de tomate ligera con linguini. ¡Fue increíble! ! ¡Felizmente limpié mi plato y lo limpié con una Botella de Pinot Grigio! Nuestra comida se terminó con Affogato, un postre de helado y café espresso. Disfruté mucho de mi experiencia culinaria en La Pizzeria, un poco de sabor de Italia escondido en la esquina de Catford. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita!

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant. We fell in love with it instantly. It is so lovely and homely and the food is delicious. We are very lucky to have this reataurant virtually on our doorstep. The staff are very friendly even though they are rushed off their feet. If you want tradiational Italian food we recommend you visit this restaurant.

This pizzeria is a staple of South East London. The pizza is well cooked, with great toppings and fantastic wines to go along with it. Further to this, the people serving a very nice and will do anything to make you feel welcome.

I have eaten at this pizzeria routinely for thirty years since it first opened and although it has changed management from time to time, the quality of food and service has remained at a high level. The pizzas are varied and good portions, too.

Love this local restaurant. Careful attention to customers from the owner and all the waiting staff are excellent. Love the specials menu. Will return!

This is truly a local restaurant with a family vibe. They are always nice, attentive without being intrusive and helpful. The food is bellisimo! I hope that’s the right word. Great.
