Wanted to go someplace for our last night of our Honeymoon - absolutely perfect. The food was superb, the service fantastic, and had such a good atmosphere, we didn't even realise we'd spent nearly two hours there. We got a cheese board to start, then my husband got the lasagne as his main with the affagato for dessert, and I got the ravioli with the limoncello tartufo dessert. Every last bite was delicious. Make reservations. You won't regret it.

Make sure to make a reservation!!! This place is BUSY because... the pasta is simply amazing. We tried the pistachio pasta (SUBLIME and they give sooo much guanciale it was amazing) and the lamb Ravioli which was sooo flavourful and just absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering as I do this review. The arancino was great but the pastas are all I remember tbh. Tiramisu was delicious as well!! During hotter months, sitting indoors is killer because it's just too warm in the restaurant. Be sure to get a seat outside during summer.

Best Tiramisu I have ever had!!!!! This place has perfect service, a great atmosphere and authentic Italian food! We were so impressed by La Piola for many reasons but the authenticity and the friendly service really made this meal special and a restaurant we will certainly return to! We had: Prosciutto pizza Sausage pasta (can’t remember the Italian name!) Zucchini Fritti Tiramisu 2x house red (175ml) £47 all together If you’re contemplating trying it, you won’t be disappointed.

My friend booked us a reservation on Thursday for a catch up and bite to eat here. I’ve been walking past here for a while on my way home from work. I must say, after been to Milan recently and sampling what I was thought to be authentic Italian food I was disappointed. This has excelled my expectations on what real Italian food should be. It was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to be back with my partner! It was affordable and blew me away! 10/10!

We celebrated our son’s graduation here earlier this week. It was fantastic. The whole experience felt very Italian with great food and friendly service. My wife is half Italian and she thought it was as good as any Italian food she has had, which from her is a huge compliment. We will definitely return.

We went to this fantastic restaurant to celebrate our son’s graduation last night. It had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and I can honestly say the food was as good as the best I have had in Italy. And this is really saying something. I am half Italian so my mum’s cooking is brilliant and I recently went to my cousin’s wedding in Milan where the food was the best I have ever had. Last night was right up there. Thank you very much.

Fabulous hearty Italian food with decadent flavours served in a warm and welcoming environment, they even had Vegan options available for members of the group with dietary requirements - what more could you ask for! Found this hidden gem whilst looking for Italian restaurants in Leeds, it certainly didn’t disappoint, small interior so booked in advance, glad I did it was busy at noon on a June Monday! Warm welcome and traditional Italian food! Loved it

I came here with my mum for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon around 12pm, there were many tables free so we decided to go sit down as there was no sign saying 'please wait here to be seated'. A young woman came to our table a few moments later and asked us if we had a booking to which we replied no. As soon as we said this her whole demeanor changed - she told us that they had many bookings coming up and that it would be quite busy later on, however we were told we could stay to eat. She then gave us menus and we ordered our food. A few moments later a couple came in who had a booking and they were seated by the same woman and she told them the special of the week which we weren't told about. Food came out 15 minutes after ordering, plates were cold so food was only lukewarm. I requested parmesan which arrived when I was half way through my meal. We got the bill after finishing and the woman server arrived with her iPad and read out what we had and gave us the total amount, we had to physically ask to see the receipt! Overall not a very pleasant experience - we felt rushed, out of place, and not particularly welcomed. Will not be coming here again.

Lovely homey atmosphere with friendly staff, amazing food at very reasonable prices! I loved the pappardelle guanciale pistaccio e stracciatella, you can smell the pistachio aroma. Their homemade tiramisu was absolutely decadent🤌🏻 It's my second time visiting ever since moving to Leeds a few months ago and I'm so glad I found this place! Will definitely come back for some nice casual dining with friends☺️ It does get packed after around 6PM so I'd recommend reserving a table.

This is an authentic Italian eating place in a lovely area of Leeds. It is small, which adds to its charm. No pretensions, just good quality food at a reasonable price. I'd only recommend it though for small parties of preferably two or four people at a pinch. It's a bit cramped otherwise. Service was quick but not rushed. A couple of mistakes were made because they were so busy but they were easily and happily corrected. A friendly place, with good choice that puts it above and beyond your average Italian eatery. They do a small range of Italian spritzers too. We had dinner there and were well satisfied with the choice, taste and portion sizes. We'd go again and that's the best recommendation!

I work very close by and have always been meaning to try here, and very glad I did! We had bruschetta and nduja croquettes to start, prosciutto crudo pizza and duck ragu for mains. Highlight was definitely the pizza- will be coming back for this.

One of my favourite places in Leeds! It’s a cozy restaurant with very friendly staff and amazing food. Serving delicious authentic italian food and they offer many vegan friendly options and not just the usual salad, their vegan ravioli just take me back home everytime! Not to mention you can find some lovely Italian products to buy like drinks, pasta and so much more! I am already looking at the menu thinking of the next time I’ll be there 😁

My girlfriend and I went for two special occasions and it was just lovely. I had written in the booking it was for her graduation and they bought a little graduation bottle candle to put on our dessert, plus free shots, it was so kind of them. You can tell the guy that runs it loves the place and the staff are sound. Food is incredible and the place is so cute. We chose La Piola due to how small and dainty it looked in pictures, and we were not disappointed. We have moved away from Leeds now and miss this place dearly.

I just stepped down from a dull street in Leeds and back into Italy. A cosy venue below ground where I was welcomed at the door with glee. The service was fantastic and the food was quite frankly incredible. For those that crave the authentic Italian vibes and flavours they experienced on holiday you must come here. 100% recommend.

Absolutely lovely experience. Excellent quality ingredients and the food is authentic Italian. I went here with my Italian partner who loved all of the food and the atmosphere. We had a great chat with the owner, Fabio, who was friendly, kind and happy to chat. We really recommend La Piola for anyone looking for real Italian food and a friendly welcome. You need to book as it gets so busy on weekends, but that's a testament to how good this is. We had antipasti, which was delightful, I loved it. We then had a pinsa each (a traditional style of pizza), I couldn't finish mine but Fabio left us take the rest home which was great. All in all, we will 100% come back! Thank you.

Really lovely, genuinely local run Italian restaurant in Leeds City centre. Food and service very good. Reasonably priced too. All of our party of 6 really enjoyed finding and eating at this fabulous independent small restaurant.

A hidden gem. My partner and I dined here, opting for the large ham and cheese board to share, followed by the Argentinian prawns and a sausage and mushroom ragu. The food was delicious and the service exceptional. We will certainly return. Advisable to book in advance to prevent any letdowns!

A very cosy and inviting place. The owner is very welcoming and the flavours of the food are so rich and fresh. Definitely tastes authentic to other places with Italian cuisine in Leeds. I went alone in the evening and managed to get a table but I would definitely recommend booking in advance because most tables are already pre-booked.

Woooow!!! What an amazing place in the hearth of Leeds. I had the aubergine tortelloni with butter Parmesan sauce and it was honestly the best pasta I ever had. Thanks to the lovely owner Fabio.

Very poor service. Baldy, who can't communicate very well with customers, has poor social skills, very rude. Kitchen is closed at certain times of the day. Long waiting times, food quality was mediocre, menu very limited. Dont bother, plenty of better authentic Italian places.

We went for lunch. We tried the arancini, panini & bruschetta. We would recommend them all. We will be back for dinner to try the pasta and wine 🕺

Amazing service and brilliant food. My friend had the lasagne and it was a large(!) portion. I had the gorgonzalo Stracchiatta. It was amazing and brilliant sauce, the pasta was cooked beautifully.

If there were more stars to give, I would give them. From booking to leaving the service was great. Such a welcoming place. It was my mums birthday and they made it extra special. The Hugo Spritz cocktail 🍸 was a winner and 1 I will be recreating at home. Starters of olives 🫒 and brushetta were really tasty. The beef ragu for main was so tasty and plenty of it. I will definitely be back and have already recommended it.

I am Italian but living in the UK, I can say hands down that La Piola is the BEST Italian restaurant in the area! You can definitely tell the food is fresh made, it reminds me of how my Granma used to cook, what a dream! Fabio the owner is lovely and the service is always great! La Piola has to be the best Italian restaurant in Leeds. As an Italian I can confirm the food tastes authentic and has a warm home cooked feel to it. The menu is varied, and tailored to please different tastes, showing off a big number of local delicacies. One of my friends is vegan and there is always a delicious warm option for her other than a salad. Fabio is a wonderful host, creating a lovely friendly atmosphere and you can tell he really cares about every single person that comes in. I hate the cliché but he oozes passion for his trade and you can feel it in every interaction he has. If I had to find a downside to la Piola would be the size of it, so when you'll want to try this little slice of Italy abroad, please book in advance as the word has spread of how good it is, and it's always quite busy. It's really worth it.

Lunch with my wife in this lovely little restaurant was so lovely. The olives to die for, my panini lovely & the meat & cheese board my wife chose was luckily so plentiful I got to taste it too! Coffee was top notch as were the calanoni. Lovely atmosphere made all the better by the chat we had with Fabio, the only who together with his staff enhanced our dining experience. If you crave a little slice of Italy in the centre of Leeds then make a reservation. We will definitely be returning. Grazie Mille!

Had an absolutely lovely night at La Piola. We came because of all the 5 star reviews and honestly it lived up to expectations. We’re both vegetarian and they made us a ravioli that wasn’t even on the menu. Truly went above and beyond for us. The atmosphere was so nice, really felt like you are stepping into Italy. I really felt the team take so much pride in their restaurant. I would definitely recommend this little gem and will be heading back soon!

Amazing place. Small (be sure to book) and full of atmosphere. Great service. Great value and the food is superb. We had a coquette each to start, both beautiful, I had the beetroot and Pea one...my husband the spinach and mozzarella...in my opinion mine was best..but both were fab. Mains ...I had king prawn tagliatelle.....oh my..beautiful...I could taste every ingredient. My husband the tagliatelle ragu.. also highly recommended....he loves authentic ragu, this was better than we had in Bologna... Is the place worth 5*?...100% yes. Absolutely loved it...a little quirky..totally charming.

I recently ate at this Italian restaurant that really felt like being in Italy. The moment I walked in, it was cozy and welcoming, making me excited to try the food. The person who welcomed us was super nice and really knew their stuff about the menu, which made the whole experience even better. Now, let's talk about the food - it was incredible! Everything from the pasta that was just right, to the sauces that were rich and full of flavor, felt like it was made with a lot of care and love. It was like a little piece of Italy on a plate. What really hit me was how fresh and high-quality everything tasted. It was as if the chefs really put their all into making sure every dish was perfect. The flavors were so authentic, it made me miss Italy and all its beautiful sights and delicious food. The warmth from the host and the amazing food made me want to come back as soon as possible. It's hard to find a place that not only makes your stomach happy but also leaves you feeling a bit special. This place did just that and made me want to hop on a plane to Italy all over again.

Food was full of flavour, felt authentic and fresh and prices were very reasonable. The menu had some great veggie options, a special and a good drink selection. The servers were friendly, welcoming and explained the menu so we felt as ease on arrival. Fabio was especially lovely and attentive. The location is rather small so would suggest it as a lunch or chill dinner, rather than a romantic meal. Would go again!

Fantastic all the way around. The owner was our waiter and did a great job of taking care of us. It was the best lasagna I’ve ever had, a wonderful atmosphere, we shared a few laughs with him about his trip to NYC, and it was a very affordable price as well. Would HIGHLY recommend!

I was in the area for a workshop with 2 friends and decided to dine at La Piola because it was near the workshop, and it has a 5 star rating on google. The first bite into pasta and ravioli blown our minds. It was so good! Given that we have recently come back from a trip to Naples, the food here tasted very authentic. We decided to come back for dessert after the workshop. The limoncello truffle was heavenly. Would really recommend La Piola!

Couldn't recommend this place more. From the beginning it was a great experience. The serving and staff were very friendly and helpful from when we arrived. The place looks great, and it has a very cozy home like vibe, yet very professional. I want to give props to Fabio for being great, but I don't want to take away from any of the rest of the staff as well. The food was amazing as well, starters and the pasta, including desert. The price is very reasonable, and given the quality of the food, I would say it is a bargain. For anyone interested in trying out the place, I would recommend making a booking. I will definitely return and I cannot wait.

Incredible authentic Italian food at very reasonable prices. Took my fiancée here for her birthday and we ate sooo much food! 😋 A cocktail and a couple of beers and it came to £60. Very fair given the outstanding food. 10/10. Will definitely be going back. Please note that it's not accessible for wheelchairs etc. It's down some steps from the main road and it's a very small cafe type restaurant that seats probably a maximum of 15 so be sure to book.

Went for an evening meal and it was divine. Fabio and the whole waiting staff were initially very welcoming, went with the Parma ham and bufala bruschetta. Seasoned perfectly with salt and such simple but amazing flavours. For main we both had salsiccia e funghi pappardelle pasta - maybe the best pasta sauce I’ve ever tasted. Portions were very substantial, al dente and great value for money. Finished with tiramisu which wasn’t shy on the coffee - a restaurant that is unapologetically Italian and a must visit.
