We had a memorable and delicious dinner at La Perla. The Solomilo Iberic was 10/10 and went well with the bread selection. The Paella, Carrabineros was full of flavour with a crispy base and was 8/10.

Came here with my partner for our anniversary and he is Spanish so I let him choose what we would sample. We accidentally over ordered because the portions are very generous for tapas but everything was authentic and delicious. We are not local but will make an effort to visit again when in the area. It was also delightful to see him conversing in his mother tongue with our waiter and chef and another Spanish family visited after us. We should never take for granted being able to indulge in our own cultures, as we miss it when it's not there.

We have just had a wonderful lunch at La Perla. Can highly recommend the Solomillo iberico and the Al Ajillo Gambas. The service from front of house and the chefs was excellent. We will definitely be coming back and have already recommended this restaurant to friends that are visiting in November

Amazing food - I lived in Spain for a year in a remote part of Catalonia and the food here rivals, if not beats, that which you get in Spain. The chef is incredible energetic and passionate and the wine goes very well with the food. Highly recommend visiting this place

The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, with the paella and sangria being especially amazing. However, our experience was marred by the chef's unprofessional attitude. We had booked earlier and prepaid for a chicken paella, but upon arrival and after a 45-minute wait, we were told it wasn't available. While the rest of the staff was great and apologetic about the inconvenience—even offering us free drinks—the chef was rude and confrontational, never once acknowledging the mistake. Despite in the end waiting for the paella and kind efforts from the staff, the chef left us disappointed with his attitude not just towards us but also towards the rest of the staff therefore we’re unlikely to return.

This was one of the most delicious dinners we have had in our years of travel. Having been to Paris, Barcelona, London, New York, etc., we love finding amazing places to eat. And this place was a gem. Located in a beautiful basement that has amazing curved ceilings and beautiful decorations, we ordered and ordered again until we were indecently stuffed. A lovely chat with the chef helped us to choose our dishes, and his descriptions of his handmade ingredients contributed to the atmosphere. This is absolutely one of the best meals we have had and would go back to Bath just to eat there again!

Went to La Perla this evening. Extremely average. Service was hit and miss and the food was extremely average, part of our order didn’t even arrive. So bad I had to ask them to take the service charge off. I’ve never had to do that at any restaurant. Can’t recommend it unfortunately

Not sure if La Perla was short staffed when we dined there, but there was no-one around to greet us on our arrival and when we eventually wandered through into the restaurant, it transpired that it was the main chef who was doing the greeting, taking the orders, and bringing the food to the table (and doing some of the cooking as well!) Quite a multi-tasker! Well it meant that we got some great explanations of the various tapas and some recommendations, so with a group of us, we tried quite a lot of the menu, the highlights for me being the octopus and the pork cheeks. Very authentic Spanish food, and the cellar dining room was a novel venue, particularly for a special occasion.

Food was tasty, typical tapas! We went in as the sign outside offers £14.95 PP which was great for us as we didn't have a lot of money. When we got in there, we had the restaurant to ourselves which was strange, the one man who served us was very friendly. The only thing was that the deal was only available on 3 dishes only, so we didn't want to get 2 lots of those 3 sihes and another dish alone could be £16 (for a meat dish). We got the 3 dishes and shared them between the two of us which was enough but two of the dishes were a potatoe dish. We wish we had more money to expand our selection but still a nice meal.

A really great dining experience: awesome food and service! We loved our meals, and the kitchen was great about gluten and dairy allergies. Their menu also marks all allergies clearly.

EXCELLENT!!! We went through all their dishes, a medley of unforgettable tapas, much better than in the Iberian Peninsula itself. Really recommended, a beautiful delicate atmosphere with candles and good music. We drink wine and share dishes at good prices! In our case we recommend the grilled squid and the octopus, as well as the garlic prawns. Honestly, a place we would always return to, even more so because of Chef Momo's good service. We had a work do of 10 people, initially it was 8 and I was worried increasing it to 10 but the guy on phone was so lovely and said no problem. I arrived first and the staff are so sweet and warm and offering drinks etc. The venue is so lovely and I'll be back with my family to sit outside. The gluten free bread is insane and I'm not a coeliac but tried it over the years. I would go back just for the bread The food is so good and we laughed as we felt we were abroad, the music, the atmosphere, fun team. Go, you will not be disappointed and as a team, we know good food.

La Perla in Bath City is a delightful Spanish tapas restaurant. You start your visit by descending steep, treacherous narrow stairs, which adds a bit of adventure to the experience. The food was good, with a variety of tasty tapas to choose from.However, the service was a bit chaotic. There were too many staff members waiting on our table at first, and they seemed to get confused. The waiter had a short memory – we had to remind them to bring the check, and then we had to ask them to take it after it sat on our table while the staff passed by at least 20 times. If you want a place where you can camp out for three hours, La Perla is your spot!

The best paella we have had outside of Spain (and maybe in it). So so tasty, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. The wine pared great with the food and a great range of options (catering for different budgets). Will definitely be taking our foodie friends here when they visit.

Wonderful experience at this Spanish tapas bar in Bath. Very cozy and calm, the authentic decoration and Spanish music create a perfect atmosphere. The shrimp and ham croquettes, and the chorizo ​​omelette are simply exceptional, accompanied by a good Alhambra beer. Very friendly staff and Spanish owner. It's worth visiting.

It was nice. Food was excellent with the exception my partner had food poisoning that evening. Music was abit too upbeat, slower Spanish pop tunes would have fit better. Still would return regardless. Thank you for a lovely evening

Best Tapas I have ever had. I travel the world. I have had Tapas in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and even Italy. Now being able to compare that to what Moma prepares here in Bath England, I concede the trophy to Moma. It does not hurt that the service is first class. Damien, set us up to succeed with welcoming words and encouraging advice. Wrap your head around Shrimp Paella with the perfect "Socarrat" or Smoked Oxtail, delicate in flavor and texture. I cannot explain the homemade Cavier, for a chemistry degree is required, but delicious comes to mind. The devotion to cooking well is without comparison for me. Moma deserves many accolades, but I hope he is happy without Michelin recognizing his food....for I fear I may never get in again.

Commenced my day in Bath with an enjoyable three-hour hike, with this reservation serving as a motivating factor. While the ambiance was undeniably captivating, the culinary offerings proved to be rather misleading. Our initial interactions with one of the servers were characterized by a jovial and somewhat cheeky demeanor. However, his subsequent recommendations left us perplexed and ultimately disappointed. Despite his assurances that each dish was exceptionally flavorful and of the highest quality, our actual dining experience fell far short of these expectations. Upon receiving the bill, we were astounded by the extortionate prices charged for what can only be described as average and bland fare. The only redeeming aspects of the meal were the sangria and the croquettes. Regrettably, we departed from the restaurant feeling both dissatisfied and resentful.

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and visit La Perla! The Head-Chef ( Momo )'s life is food and it shows. The perfectly cooked squid and octopus were world class, innovative Croquetas and even the humble patatas bravas were the best we have ever had. But, the true star is the service and their passion for food! We loved every second and every plate! We will certainly come back every time we are at Bath! Dinner at la Perla was amazing. The wait staff were extreamly friendly. I dined alone and was extreamly comfortable. All of the dishes I had were amazing and I would absolutely recommend and go here again. I had a Spanish tortilla with Chorizo, Octopus, and the croquetas with shrimp and with cheese, and churros with chocolate.

Visting Bath for midweek break & looking for somewhere to eat to celebrate my birthday, fancing tapas came across this place. Popped in to book a table while in the city. The staff are welcoming & helpful, the food was excellent and the restaurant had a good vibe. Thank you to you all for a great evening & making my birthday memorable.

What a great place! Great food, great service, nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was awesome. A true taste of Spain, we will definitely return.

We had the seafood paella, which was outstanding. We got to look over the counter in to the kitchen and the chef walked us through how he made the paella, which was a wonderful and fun touch. The dish does take about 30 minutes to cook, but it was worth every minute of wait and more. Everything we had to eat and drink was top notch. Highly recommend!

We visited La Perla around a month ago and it did not disappoint. So much so we have arranged to bring my partners Spanish father and all the family there for his birthday at the end of August. First the food is exceptional. The chef is such a passionate guy. We went on a quiet Saturday lunch time and we were lucky enough to have the chef come and speak to us about his dishes and his inspiration behind them. We loved everything he bought out and especially his amazing aioli dip that was light almost like a mousse and so tasty. His croquettes are like nothing I’ve ever seen anywhere else too. We can’t wait to have those again next time! Just amazing food all round. Secondly, I have to praise the service from the wonderful fredrico. He was so pleasant and made the whole experience even better. He recommended I try the ox tail and it did not disappoint. We can’t wait to come back at the end of August and eat here again.

What a find, for authentic Tapas look no further than La Perla. The food was exceptional and in Momo (head chef), there is a real passion for what he does, using quality ingredients the food was exceptional. In Frederick the front of house service and knowledge of the new menu guided us in our choices. Well worth a visit

Lovely meal, we were sat on the right side initially but with a couple of hen parties in there it was a bit noisy! Asked the waitress if we could move and within 5 minutes they had us on the left side which was absolutely lovely! Shared 5 tapas, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine. Came to £95 with a tip inc and was plenty of food for us both. The food was outstanding, would highly recommend the Gambas. Staff were very friendly, the chef even had us trying out his ingredients and it was clear he only used the best and was very proud of them. Great value, great atmosphere and wonderful food.

Fabulous Meal! We enjoyed every dish we tried... Having limited experience with Tapas, we were hesitant, but the chef patiently explained the dishes, assuring us that we would Love them all. And we DID! Specialty beverages were awesome as well. Definitely Worth a stop in for a snack or meal.

I had the pleasure to pass by this place last week around lunch time and talk with the chef outside. I checked the menu and decided to try... BEST CHOICE EVER... the place is very cosy and welcoming, even more all the staff working there, smiley and friendly... food is sooo good... I got a choice of 4 different tapas and everything was full of flavours, still very light... don't miss the octopus, I could cut it with my fork as it was soft... I will definitely be back when I am back in Bath...

From the street you can't tell that it is such an attractive restaurant. It is really worth following the stairs down and be surprised by the attractive restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food.

Good place. Less formal than Cotto Cotto which is the same concept except next door and Italian. Mezze is tasty but it's easy to order/eat too much and the food all comes out at the same time making it feel a bit rushed. The sangria was excellent. At the end of the night our waiter did a runner and left us abandoned until we flagged down one of the remaining wait staff to get the check. Many items on the menu were not available on the night (mini burgers, sardines, tacos, tomato salad, squid ink risotto) which left some big gaps in the restaurant's offerings.

This place was amazing! Staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. Flavours were really fun and interesting, highly recommend the octopus and the bao buns, so much fun! The Creme Catalan pudding is marvellous too. Very romantic venue, very clean, loads of choice on the drinks and food menu. Defo come here for good food and fabulous service!

Was good food but I was not sure the tortilla should be as liquid as it was inside. Never had one like that, even on many trips to Spain. The calamari and octopus was fab, as was the sausage.

Friendly, very polite staff. Small dishes, tapas, as in Spain. Very tasteful. Liked all of them. The atmosphere is really nice, although when crowed is a bit noisy.

We have visited La Perla many times but our recent visit was a total disaster. We waited over an hour and a half for food. Food was poor and some of it wasn’t even hot. The restaurant was also cold and many people were sat in coats. We asked the manager why it was so cold and he just shrugged and said maybe the heating isn’t on. The whole experience was really poor and we were hugely disappointed. We will not be going back.

Sadly the meal was a bit of a nightmare. It took well over an hour for any food to arrive, the table next to us walked out. Some of the dishes never arrived, the service wasn’t great and the restaurant was freezing cold. We spent far too long cold and hungry - not exactly the celebratory meal we were hoping for. Should have followed my gut that paying a deposition was a bit off. Wouldn’t recommend.

There was an unpleasant smell as we entered which was off-putting but the place itself looks great with good atmos. Food was ok but v expensive. For the price we expected outstanding. There seemed to be an over emphasis on garlic sauce.

It didn’t taste nice and after only eating 2 bites it made me go to the toilet and be sick, the waiter was aware of this. I went back before they closed after paying and leaving because when I left I was sick again and realised I should not have paid for the meal. the lady told me to call up tomorrow to sort with the manager about a refund. I spoke to the manager on the phone and they refuse to refund me, he said he didn’t care. he said he wanted a photograph of my sick in the toilet but I didn’t think about this at the time as I was feeling poorly. I am extremely upset about this, I should have never paid.

Fantastic tapas restaurant. Visited last week as we had a couple of nights in Bath and saw how good the reviews were. It didn’t disappoint, friendly staff, authentic tapas and great wine. Give it a try.

Really nice restaurant located about 5 mins walk from the Abbey. It's in converted cellars which adds a nice atmosphere as well as the creative lighting scheme. The service was very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent although the menu was a little pork heavy for me. Well worth a visit

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical going to an underground restaurant. But the food was great, I'm a salmon fan and thought with avocado ice cream? But it was one of the best salmon dishes I've ever tasted. The rest of the tapas was really good as well. Service was great and my skepticism about going underground was unfounded as also very good atmosphere. This was on a Friday night. Only visiting Bath, wish they had restaurants like this where I live. Would highly recommend.

Really nice restaurant with nice ambience and good service. I would have liked a few more vegetarian options that weren't potato based on the menu. I marked down as in the ladies loos both toilet seats were loose and sliding off, not really what you expect in a relatively expensive restaurant and easily fixed. Despite that I do recommend a visit.

It doesn't look much from the outside.... Don't be fooled. The menu was really good, staff knowledgeable & friendly. Great little find. Tapas style dishes. We had 5 plus bread for 2 of us. Food was so good. Standout dishes were the raw salmon, the cave cheese & the prawns. But tbh everything was top notch. I'm just sad I didn't get to try the bao buns - they looked fab. The tacos were fab too. Prob £100 for two Inc drinks & well worth it. One of my top meals in 2023.

Simply the best Spanish restaurant we have been to in a long time. Owned by a family, Dmitry from Greece and his wife from Valencia, who, along with her son, is the chef. The food is brilliant with some amazing twists to the usual Spanish dishes. Staff are beautiful and attentive. Make it a must visit when in Bath.

We had a lovely time. Great location in town. The atmosphere is vibrant with a subtle hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant, yet it felt very intimate. The setting is amazing and the food was fantastic, lots of different flavours and the quality was very good. Also the best espresso martini I've had!! All in all a very enjoyable evening and when we return to Bath we look forward to visiting La Perla again. Thank you!

I went to La Perla for dinner with my mother and it was delightful. We were served by Dom, who was absolutely adorable and kind, she took care of us very well and made us feel welcome. It was a pleasure to meet her. The food was great and I look forward to coming again.

I love food. I love finding new places to eat and exploring cities for the best bars and restaurants, but every time I go to Bath, I only book a table at this gem. Sometimes alone. Sometimes with family. The location (once you're down those steps) is warm, welcoming and so cosy. The food is just incredible. Each time I find a different dish to rave over: last time it was the octopus, the time before it was the ox tail. Every mouthful screams 'this was created by people who love food!' The chef has a Michelin star to his name and his passion and skill is apparent on each of the plates served by La Perla's attentive staff. Even his gluten-free bread is one of most amazing things I've ever tasted (although that might be because of the oil from the garlic prawns or the freshly-made alioli I load onto it). I hope to return for my birthday and I hope I'll have room for the Catalan version for creme brulée. I usually do.

Lovely setting, great welcome and menu varied and different from other tapas restaurants I've been to. Food was amazing and fresh and drinks, cocktails were fab. Can't recommend highly enough

Il personale è stato incredibilmente cordiale sin dall'inizio, rendendo la nostra serata ancora più piacevole. La qualità del cibo era davvero eccellente, ogni piatto che abbiamo assaporato era un'autentica delizia spagnola. Prezzi assolutamente equi alla qualità del cibo. Consiglio vivamente questo ristorante.
