Haven't been here since before Covid! The food was amazing especially the iberian pork and the service was amazing aswell and will definitely be back next time we visit Bath !

Some of the best tapas food in bath! High quality food and ingredients everything was delicious! I couldn’t recommend it enough the fried squid is to die for! And the Oxtail was unbelievable so tender!! Servers are very helpful and give great recommendations! I couldn’t agree it anymore

Food really excellent, we suggest that it would be better if the dishes were brought out not so quickly so as to not rush the clients and make the expérience more enjoyable. Service impeccable, we were well advised by very nice staff. We will definitely come back to eat the paella.

Excellent tapas, very good variety of authentic Spanish dishes with some original takes on the classics. The drinks were great too - we had beer, wine and cocktails - and the setting is delightful. Highly recommend, will return.

The food was incredible. We were recently in Spain and this might actually be better in our opinion. We really enjoyed the octopus plates and the pinchos. The staff were so nice and treated us so well, even to a lil birthday surprise. The aesthetic is amazing and felt really authentic. Definitely recommend to everyone to try. Also prices very good for what you get!

We had a fantastic evening meal of tapas here. We were sat at the high-top seats which overlook the kitchen - it was fun to watch the food being prepared.

Friendly service but a bit overwhelmed, food was lovely. We had to ask for a second round of drinks 3 times. We liked the decor and the atmosphere this attractive space encouraged, but if there’s a party of 5/6 women next to you care needs to be taken as to their situation because it can be noisy!

Rating: ⭐⭐ Visited La Perla in Bath for my wife’s birthday – a special occasion, so I mentioned it to the Greek manager beforehand. He hyped up their paella, calling it the “best in the country” with claims of awards and a £44-per-person price tag (came to nearly £50 per head with service charge). The paella was a let-down. The seafood tasted stale, the shrimp, squid, and octopus lacked freshness, and everything was swimming in oil, making the rice inedible. The manager’s “top chef” sales pitch was pure exaggeration – crunchy burnt rice scraps didn’t save the dish. Sides like peppers and smoked pork were decent, but the main attraction fell flat. Paid almost £200 for a disappointing experience. Two stars are being generous.

We had a delicious, cozy dinner here on a very rainy night. We tried lots of different tapas and they were all very tasty and good portion sizes for sharing. The wine - Rioja blanco - was also excellent. Highly recommend.

Went there for my wedding anniversary and couldn't have chosen any better place. The food was good and service excellent. Really nice atmosphere also.

Met up with friends for a get-together and had wanted to try La Perla. We really wish we had booked somewhere else; it was so bad. You could tell they were seriously short-staffed, but there are ways of doing things in this situation. Drinks arrived after the food started coming out, which was nearly an hour after our arrival. Some of our group had food, some didn't get any until after those dishes had long been eaten. Duplicate dishes came out, and some dishes didn't come at all. There was no offer of dessert; the kitchen just turned the lights off. There were no extra rounds of drinks and no offer of a discount or complimentary drinks for such a bad experience. Regarding the food that we ate, the bravas were too smoky with smoked paprika for my liking. The garlic prawns were not as punchy as we have in Spain, and they don't come with bread so you can't mop up the juice. The calamari needs some alioli served with it. The Iberico with chestnut and blue cheese was nice, but at £15 it's on the pricey side, especially since I wasn't expecting the pork to be served so rare (although I know this is how it can be served). We all wanted to try the paella but were informed it would be over an hour's wait. At least we may have all eaten together if we had ordered it. We will be back to sample the paella, but hopefully the service will be better on a midweek night.

Visited as a couple .. after we arrived a very large table arrived and you could not hear conversation across table . Staff were very harassed . Chef out directing staff as to what table was numbered what ! Then a hen party arrived and seemed to have a long wait . Us in and out in an hour .. and that was with ordering in 2 stages not one as pressured by young man to do so ! I would have left earlier if I could have . Food tasty but head pounding . Noise acknowledged by barman .. didn’t think any point in putting music on !!

Waited 30 mins to take drinks order then another 30mins to take food order and food came out sparoradiclly and finally 2 hrs later had last dish served . wasn’t offered desserts or coffee and then messed the bill up this was a special hen night very disappointing

I am Spanish. Without a doubt a highly recommended place. We have eaten some of the best rice and we have already tried many good places in Spain. This place also offers exquisite service from the chef who takes you through his experience in how the product is made. If you take your couple, friends, office colleagues... it is a place where you will be right.

Wow! We came to Bath as our trip to Porto had been cancelled. I have no doubt that the food here was better than whatever we would have found and a true taste of the Iberian Peninsula! We had a selection of beautiful starters including the Iberian ham which was some of the nicest I’ve ever tried! Then on to the two Paellas between 6 of us. Again, stunning. The delicious food was made even better by the owner/chef bringing it all to life! Excellent from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left! Will be back!

We had a memorable and delicious dinner at La Perla. The Solomilo Iberic was 10/10 and went well with the bread selection. The Paella, Carrabineros was full of flavour with a crispy base and was 8/10.

Came here with my partner for our anniversary and he is Spanish so I let him choose what we would sample. We accidentally over ordered because the portions are very generous for tapas but everything was authentic and delicious. We are not local but will make an effort to visit again when in the area. It was also delightful to see him conversing in his mother tongue with our waiter and chef and another Spanish family visited after us. We should never take for granted being able to indulge in our own cultures, as we miss it when it's not there.

We have just had a wonderful lunch at La Perla. Can highly recommend the Solomillo iberico and the Al Ajillo Gambas. The service from front of house and the chefs was excellent. We will definitely be coming back and have already recommended this restaurant to friends that are visiting in November

Amazing food - I lived in Spain for a year in a remote part of Catalonia and the food here rivals, if not beats, that which you get in Spain. The chef is incredible energetic and passionate and the wine goes very well with the food. Highly recommend visiting this place

Delicious tapas and excellent service!

The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, with the paella and sangria being especially amazing. However, our experience was marred by the chef's unprofessional attitude. We had booked earlier and prepaid for a chicken paella, but upon arrival and after a 45-minute wait, we were told it wasn't available. While the rest of the staff was great and apologetic about the inconvenience—even offering us free drinks—the chef was rude and confrontational, never once acknowledging the mistake. Despite in the end waiting for the paella and kind efforts from the staff, the chef left us disappointed with his attitude not just towards us but also towards the rest of the staff therefore we’re unlikely to return.

We had THE most amazing meal on 24/8/24, staff out of this world especially lovely Damian…food what can I say I have had TAPAS all over the world … never this good already looking forward to 24/8/25 to celebrate another anniversary there! This was one of the most delicious dinners we have had in our years of travel. Having been to Paris, Barcelona, London, New York, etc., we love finding amazing places to eat. And this place was a gem. Located in a beautiful basement that has amazing curved ceilings and beautiful decorations, we ordered and ordered again until we were indecently stuffed. A lovely chat with the chef helped us to choose our dishes, and his descriptions of his handmade ingredients contributed to the atmosphere. This is absolutely one of the best meals we have had and would go back to Bath just to eat there again!

Went to La Perla this evening. Extremely average. Service was hit and miss and the food was extremely average, part of our order didn’t even arrive. So bad I had to ask them to take the service charge off. I’ve never had to do that at any restaurant. Can’t recommend it unfortunately

Not sure if La Perla was short staffed when we dined there, but there was no-one around to greet us on our arrival and when we eventually wandered through into the restaurant, it transpired that it was the main chef who was doing the greeting, taking the orders, and bringing the food to the table (and doing some of the cooking as well!) Quite a multi-tasker! Well it meant that we got some great explanations of the various tapas and some recommendations, so with a group of us, we tried quite a lot of the menu, the highlights for me being the octopus and the pork cheeks. Very authentic Spanish food, and the cellar dining room was a novel venue, particularly for a special occasion.

Food was tasty, typical tapas! We went in as the sign outside offers £14.95 PP which was great for us as we didn't have a lot of money. When we got in there, we had the restaurant to ourselves which was strange, the one man who served us was very friendly. The only thing was that the deal was only available on 3 dishes only, so we didn't want to get 2 lots of those 3 sihes and another dish alone could be £16 (for a meat dish). We got the 3 dishes and shared them between the two of us which was enough but two of the dishes were a potatoe dish. We wish we had more money to expand our selection but still a nice meal.

EXCELLENT!!! We went through all their dishes, a medley of unforgettable tapas, much better than in the Iberian Peninsula itself. Really recommended, a beautiful delicate atmosphere with candles and good music. We drink wine and share dishes at good prices! In our case we recommend the grilled squid and the octopus, as well as the garlic prawns. Honestly, a place we would always return to, even more so because of Chef Momo's good service. We had a work do of 10 people, initially it was 8 and I was worried increasing it to 10 but the guy on phone was so lovely and said no problem. I arrived first and the staff are so sweet and warm and offering drinks etc. The venue is so lovely and I'll be back with my family to sit outside. The gluten free bread is insane and I'm not a coeliac but tried it over the years. I would go back just for the bread The food is so good and we laughed as we felt we were abroad, the music, the atmosphere, fun team. Go, you will not be disappointed and as a team, we know good food.

La Perla in Bath City is a delightful Spanish tapas restaurant. You start your visit by descending steep, treacherous narrow stairs, which adds a bit of adventure to the experience. The food was good, with a variety of tasty tapas to choose from.However, the service was a bit chaotic. There were too many staff members waiting on our table at first, and they seemed to get confused. The waiter had a short memory – we had to remind them to bring the check, and then we had to ask them to take it after it sat on our table while the staff passed by at least 20 times. If you want a place where you can camp out for three hours, La Perla is your spot!

The best paella we have had outside of Spain (and maybe in it). So so tasty, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. The wine pared great with the food and a great range of options (catering for different budgets). Will definitely be taking our foodie friends here when they visit.

Wonderful experience at this Spanish tapas bar in Bath. Very cozy and calm, the authentic decoration and Spanish music create a perfect atmosphere. The shrimp and ham croquettes, and the chorizo ​​omelette are simply exceptional, accompanied by a good Alhambra beer. Very friendly staff and Spanish owner. It's worth visiting.

It was nice. Food was excellent with the exception my partner had food poisoning that evening. Music was abit too upbeat, slower Spanish pop tunes would have fit better. Still would return regardless. Thank you for a lovely evening

Best Tapas I have ever had. I travel the world. I have had Tapas in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and even Italy. Now being able to compare that to what Moma prepares here in Bath England, I concede the trophy to Moma. It does not hurt that the service is first class. Damien, set us up to succeed with welcoming words and encouraging advice. Wrap your head around Shrimp Paella with the perfect "Socarrat" or Smoked Oxtail, delicate in flavor and texture. I cannot explain the homemade Cavier, for a chemistry degree is required, but delicious comes to mind. The devotion to cooking well is without comparison for me. Moma deserves many accolades, but I hope he is happy without Michelin recognizing his food....for I fear I may never get in again.

Commenced my day in Bath with an enjoyable three-hour hike, with this reservation serving as a motivating factor. While the ambiance was undeniably captivating, the culinary offerings proved to be rather misleading. Our initial interactions with one of the servers were characterized by a jovial and somewhat cheeky demeanor. However, his subsequent recommendations left us perplexed and ultimately disappointed. Despite his assurances that each dish was exceptionally flavorful and of the highest quality, our actual dining experience fell far short of these expectations. Upon receiving the bill, we were astounded by the extortionate prices charged for what can only be described as average and bland fare. The only redeeming aspects of the meal were the sangria and the croquettes. Regrettably, we departed from the restaurant feeling both dissatisfied and resentful.

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and visit La Perla! The Head-Chef ( Momo )'s life is food and it shows. The perfectly cooked squid and octopus were world class, innovative Croquetas and even the humble patatas bravas were the best we have ever had. But, the true star is the service and their passion for food! We loved every second and every plate! We will certainly come back every time we are at Bath! Dinner at la Perla was amazing. The wait staff were extreamly friendly. I dined alone and was extreamly comfortable. All of the dishes I had were amazing and I would absolutely recommend and go here again. I had a Spanish tortilla with Chorizo, Octopus, and the croquetas with shrimp and with cheese, and churros with chocolate.

Visting Bath for midweek break & looking for somewhere to eat to celebrate my birthday, fancing tapas came across this place. Popped in to book a table while in the city. What a great place! Great food, great service, nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was awesome. A true taste of Spain, we will definitely return.

We had the seafood paella, which was outstanding. We got to look over the counter in to the kitchen and the chef walked us through how he made the paella, which was a wonderful and fun touch. The dish does take about 30 minutes to cook, but it was worth every minute of wait and more. Everything we had to eat and drink was top notch. Highly recommend!

We visited La Perla around a month ago and it did not disappoint. So much so we have arranged to bring my partners Spanish father and all the family there for his birthday at the end of August. First the food is exceptional. The chef is such a passionate guy. We went on a quiet Saturday lunch time and we were lucky enough to have the chef come and speak to us about his dishes and his inspiration behind them. We loved everything he bought out and especially his amazing aioli dip that was light almost like a mousse and so tasty. His croquettes are like nothing I’ve ever seen anywhere else too. We can’t wait to have those again next time! Just amazing food all round. Secondly, I have to praise the service from the wonderful fredrico. He was so pleasant and made the whole experience even better. He recommended I try the ox tail and it did not disappoint. We can’t wait to come back at the end of August and eat here again.

What a find, for authentic Tapas look no further than La Perla. The food was exceptional and in Momo (head chef), there is a real passion for what he does, using quality ingredients the food was exceptional. In Frederick the front of house service and knowledge of the new menu guided us in our choices. Well worth a visit

Lovely meal, we were sat on the right side initially but with a couple of hen parties in there it was a bit noisy! Asked the waitress if we could move and within 5 minutes they had us on the left side which was absolutely lovely! Shared 5 tapas, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine. Came to £95 with a tip inc and was plenty of food for us both. The food was outstanding, would highly recommend the Gambas. Staff were very friendly, the chef even had us trying out his ingredients and it was clear he only used the best and was very proud of them. Great value, great atmosphere and wonderful food.

Fabulous Meal! We enjoyed every dish we tried... Having limited experience with Tapas, we were hesitant, but the chef patiently explained the dishes, assuring us that we would Love them all. And we DID! Specialty beverages were awesome as well. Definitely Worth a stop in for a snack or meal.

I had the pleasure to pass by this place last week around lunch time and talk with the chef outside. I checked the menu and decided to try... BEST CHOICE EVER... the place is very cosy and welcoming, even more all the staff working there, smiley and friendly... food is sooo good... I got a choice of 4 different tapas and everything was full of flavours, still very light... don't miss the octopus, I could cut it with my fork as it was soft... I will definitely be back when I am back in Bath...

From the street you can't tell that it is such an attractive restaurant. It is really worth following the stairs down and be surprised by the attractive restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food.

Absolutely loved the food. Not the cheapest but the tastiness makes it worth the money. Lovely staff who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do and a very nice secluded spot away from the crowds.

Good place. Less formal than Cotto Cotto which is the same concept except next door and Italian. Mezze is tasty but it's easy to order/eat too much and the food all comes out at the same time making it feel a bit rushed. The sangria was excellent. At the end of the night our waiter did a runner and left us abandoned until we flagged down one of the remaining wait staff to get the check. Many items on the menu were not available on the night (mini burgers, sardines, tacos, tomato salad, squid ink risotto) which left some big gaps in the restaurant's offerings.

Was good food but I was not sure the tortilla should be as liquid as it was inside. Never had one like that, even on many trips to Spain. The calamari and octopus was fab, as was the sausage.
