Visité muchas veces con amigos y familiares. Fácil reserva en línea, personal muy amable, porción decente y deliciosa comida, la calidad de la comida ha sido consistente. Después de elegir el brisket cocido de 8 horas, fue tan difícil no poder sacar un cuchillo a través de él. Lo envié de vuelta y esperé. . . tengo otro. . . exactamente el mismo! La camarera dijo, debe ser algo malo con la carne. Tuve que pedir otra cosa, mi marido ya casi había terminado su comida. Ordenó el pollo que se suponía que debía ser relleno, vino con un poco de espinacas y cobertura en la parte superior, lo más decepcionante. ¡Nunca volvería!

I love coming to this restaurant and have been a few times. I order the beef brisket and is usually beautifully tender. However, my last visit it seemed quite dry compared to last visits. My partners steak was delicious. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere feels very homely inside.

Reservé una mesa para nosotros para el período de almuerzo del domingo. Esto fue fácil y no tuve problemas en la reserva. Lo único a destacar es que solicité una trona y dijeron que no las hacen. Al llegar estábamos sentados enseguida. No estaba ocupado. Estéticamente era un restaurante encantador. El personal también fue muy agradable durante toda nuestra visita. El menú tiene una gran selección, así que nos mimaron para la elección. Los precios estaban en la gama alta, así que definitivamente un restaurante de golosinas en lugar de una excursión estándar de un día comer fuera del lugar. Entre nosotros teníamos la parrilla mixta, bourguignon de ternera, con lados de Mac y queso y verduras mixtas. Las porciones eran geniales y la comida deliciosa. Este lugar es ideal para una comida especial. Se adapta bien a esa situación. Una cosa que hizo que nuestra experiencia fuera un poco más incómoda es que no son adecuados para familias con niños pequeños. No hay menú para niños (el lado de macarrones y queso, aunque era una gran porción para nuestra hija) , y ninguna trona significa que tuvimos que sostener a nuestro bebé durante todo el tiempo. Esto significaba que teníamos que turnarnos para comer. Como restaurante para parejas, grupos de adultos o familias con niños mayores que pueden comer porciones adultas completas, este es un gran lugar para esa comida especial. Me encantaría volver con solo mi esposa como una visita de pareja.

Judging it for the 60gbp meal it was... It's a nice environment, friendly service if a bit under attentive... The let down is that the steak is mediocre. I can do far far better myself in my kitchen. Went there to experience steak excellence but the porterhouse disappointed. My friend's Cote de boeuf was better but still nothing you couldn't do yourself at home.

A very warm and homely environment, decorated with careful consideration. Beautifully chargrilled chicken on top of a Caesar salad. The coleslaw and gratin potatoes were divine. Highly recommend!

We came here as we’d both heard good things about the restaurant but unfortunately not impressed. Starters were the duck crème brûlée (duck paté) and the French onion soup. The brûlée was pretty good however the French onion soup wasn’t based on a beef stock so was pale and insipid. It also didn’t have the usual large piece of toasted bread with heaps of melted cheese. The main course was diabolical. The Boeuf Bourguignon lacked small onions and red wine, the medium sirloin steak was almost well done and incredibly tough. The sides of roasted seasonal vegetables contained brown overcooked broccoli and raw carrots, and appeared to have been sweated rather than roasted. The gratin potatoes were a single thickly sliced potato in what appeared to be a curdled cream sauce and the green pepper sauce turned out to be served cold and was mayonnaise- based, according to the server. The service was also terrible. The waitress appeared to have very little menu knowledge and I had to go downstairs to request a follow up to my complaint about the steak. In the end I asked for the bill and stated that I’d only be willing to pay for the starters and the drinks. We won’t be coming back.

Sep 24: Although it's not just steak, my strong recommendation is to go for a steak main course. That main course was excellent with good quality meat cooked to the specified amount whether rare, medium, or well done and all arrived on the table at the same time. Basically it's a bistro and, if you like that kind of thing, it's quite a good one. We would visit again.

We had a wonderful evening at La Maison du Steak. Our party of 16 people received excellent service, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked, reasonably priced, mature ribeye tomahawk. We will definitely be returning soon.

First, I think their portion is very generous with both starter and the main meal. For whoever reading this before going to the restaurant, I strongly recommend 3ish people order one starter. Otherwise, you will feel full before eating the big portion of steak. I personally think that the kitchen tends to overcook the meat. If you prefer the rare-medium kind of steak, this might be a bit more cooked than you think. However, the quality of the meat is not bad. And the sauces are my favourite, garlic butter is good but Green Pepper is something amazing that I would recommend people try. Chips and sweet potatoes are good as well. The general waiting time is long. Maybe because it is Saturday and the kitchen is busy but I do think my party waited a long time for the food to come. So bear that in mind when you come visit. My waiter is friendly and respond to my request fairly quickly, which I am quite satisfied with. I booked a seat about 2 hours before coming to the restaurant on the Saturday evening which I am quite happy with, as majority of the restaurant is so fully booked. I ended up in the back garden in a very good weather day. I do think the front garden gets more sun if that is something you are looking for. In general, I do think the price tag is bit higher than expected. However, not a bad place to dine. I personally would not come back as the food tasting is not that impressive (at this price range, I expect a lot more than this). However, if you want to take your date for a fancy but casual dinner, or want a high price tag to impress a friend or family, this might be a good choice without needing to book a month ahead.

Perfect steak. Perfect chops. Perfect charcuterie. Exceptional service. Love it.

Front of house staff let the restaurant down. The paper menus with “le” infront of everything, the dirty cutlery, and the one singular toilet can be forgiven. But check back with your tables! I had one bite of my main course, covered it with a paper napkin, and was charged £18 for the privilege. It was special night for my partner and I, so I wasn’t going to kick up a fuss, but if a guest doesn’t even touch their food, FOH staff should at least ask why. A check back would have given them the chance to fix the problem. Instead I was told I was wrong when I informed the supervisor on duty that I wasn’t happy with my food on the way out. My partner was very happy with her steak, full marks there! But I don’t expect a restaurant supervisor to tell me that I am wrong for not eating more than two bites of my meal, when instead of checking if the food was ok, all the staff were doing were playing on their phones behind the bar.

Promising but disappointing. When we entered we saw cabinets with large pieces of meat, so that boded well. We ordered medium-rare ribeye. The meat was quite sinewy and still a bit rawer than we would have liked. Fries were fine but gratin potatoes were very weird, more like watery tortilla. Service was good.

First time at Maison Steak, and it will not be the last. Great steaks, cooked to perfection. Blown away that French Onion soup was also on the menu, a personal favourite. Good service and friendly. The weather was such that we were able to sit outside and dine. Good selection on the menu. Located near to the Railway station. Booking is recommended.

the quality seemed very good. the meat is from a quality farm. If you like medium, I would ask for medium-well. sadly the new chinese owner is rude and the place does not feel authentic french anymore.

Fantastic picanha, lovely place, easy to arrive (5 min walk from the parking), and the people who work here are super nice :)

Very friendly staff we hadn’t booked but found us a table despite appearing full. Went straight to the mains great choice all looked appetizing. Had the mixed grill possibly too much food but all well cooked and delicious. Nice wine list and drinks menu reasonably priced in my opinion

First time visiting with friends and I was pleasantly surprised, the restaurant is quite small and has a lovely family feel to it. The waiting staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was amazing, portion sizes are big so make sure you’re hungry! I would recommend and hope to visit again soon.

Really nice place but just didn't deliver for me. A Porterhouse was more like a skinny T-Bone. Didn't deliver on taste either. Tried some of the others on different cuts and their's were much better, but not amazingly so. Unfortunately quite disappointing.

Indeed the best steakhouse in Cambridge. Lovely appetisers and definitely want to try some other new things next time. Steaks were cooked perfectly, not chewy at all, very tender and full of flavour, comes with choice of sauce, potatoes and salad too and considering the price it’s a great value. Quite small selections of wines but still got good ones. If you looking for a quality steakhouse, this is the one and definitely worth the money. I really can’t wait to try other menus next time

I visited this restaurant with family and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The staff were friendly and was a great atmosphere. I had a filet which was perfectly cooked as whole I enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely return.

Steaks were excellent, matched red wines perfect. Staff were very helpful. We ate at most of the best rated places in cambridge, this was the best. Everything they do, they do well. Would recommend but do book as they get busy even on a week day.... Thanks for a great evening.

As a regular, I’m now getting more disappointed with every visit. Although the steaks are still ok, but they are not as good as they were. Well within 15 minutes of ordering, we had 1 chicken dish and 3 steaks turn up at the table and the steaks were clearly not rested. In most restaurants when ordering steak, especially the below cut, I’d be happy to wait 25-30 minutes or more, knowing fully well it’s cooked properly. The 500g rib on the bone was not 500g in weight and they have been getting smaller every visit. I cooked a Cote de Boeuf myself a few weeks ago, that weighed in at 550g including bone. It was twice as thick and nearly the same area. They then forgot our onion rings, the Mac n Cheese was nuclear, so must have been microwaved. If it’s not at least half pre cooked, how on earth can you have chicken supreme done in 12 minutes. Come on La Maison, I’ve raved about you guys for years, but you are now letting me down. It’s probably why there were only 2 other couples eating. Prove me wrong if we decide to return.

We were six friends visiting Cambridge for a few days. Staying at the Centennial Hotel just down the road, we’d had a brilliant day at IWM Duxford. We booked for an early dinner at 6.30 & we’re not disappointed. Friendly efficient staff, we shared starters of charcuterie olives & bread - very good. Our mains were varied but steaks & chicken. - all excellent. Very good portions & delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant.

I would give 5 stars if they did not serve fries out of a bag. How hard is it to cut potatoes? LAZY

Excellent excellent. Why didn’t I come to here earlier? Originally, I was thinking about some prime cuts like filet or ribeye or sirloin, but I read from the review that bavette steak is great here. As a less fatty cut, it will also better showcase the skill of the chef. Indeed, it is surprisingly good, perfectly medium rare, pink, and tender. While beef is fresh and flavorful on its own with a little salt and pepper, I must say that the green pepper sauce is beautiful, aromatic a little spicy, very appetizing. It’s probably one of the best beef sauce I’ve ever had and the one of the rare occasions where I dip the steak into the sauce as a steak fundamentalist. Potato gratin is wonderful, also one of the best. Eggy and cheesy without being heavy or greasy at all. A bowl of happiness. For starter we had the beef brisket croquette. The lady taking order was kindly recommending numb, beef, dishes, but since it’s our first try at the steakhouse, we go with full beef. 🐂 it comes larger than expected, and it’s a bomb from heaven. It’s just slightly coated with breadcrumb, but it’s so crispy and crunchy. Inside, it was filled with delicious lean yet melting-in-mouth brisket. (I didn’t order the briskets in the main because I worry it might be too fatty. And the starter proves to be a wonderful option to enjoy both steak and brisket.) The salad is nice and crisp although I can do without the dressing. Thank you for saving the French food scene and steak industry in Cambridge.

There is very little on the menu for gluten intolerance. For some reason they were unable to put only salt on my steak - it’s the house seasoning or nothing. I won’t be going back because everything was over cooked. The black grill lines on the steak tasted of smoke and made me choke. Clearly they are not cleaning their grill. Likewise the sweet potato fries were over cooked- the oil needed changing. I don’t want to increase my chances of getting cancer by eating burned food.

Throughly enjoyed my experience at La Maison Du Steak on Saturday 3rd February. I attended with a party of 8 people and we all felt that the food was excellent. The staff were efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

Booked an early dinner, where only 4 customers in the whole restaurant and 3 waiters: 20 mins to take the first order. Big Tomahawk steak but undercooked, sent it back on grill. Food has been served to us, but there are no knives on the table. Panacotta and cheese cake on Menu " served with Mango" but actually was a watery disgusting sauce. I'm not rushing back too soon..

Personally I think it is overrated. Very expensive for what you get, when I say that I mean the whole experience The staff were not very friendly or helpful the layout meant two of us had our chairs bumped constantly all night with people and staff brushing past where the layout wasn’t great, two orders came up with one of the ingredients missing from the mixed grill they forgot to put the Lamb on both orders and when it was pointed out politely the reply was I will tell the chef, and that was the last we heard about it, no sorry or I will adjust the bill nothing? We were never asked if everything was ok with our food during the 3 courses, it was disappointing Especially when the bill arrived with a comment we need the table. 😳

Fantastic food but it is a little pricey. Nothing particularly special about the decor or environment but nothing to complain about either, just nice. Only issue was that the steak knives were blunt, all five of us had the same problem. Food was highly complemented by everyone. Definitely worth a try for special occasions. I will definitely be going back.

Good steak, but any sides are extra

Went for my husband’s birthday with friends. Nice friendly greeting and a chilled vibe inside. Steak was really good and I thought good value. Fillet steak, potato gratin, coleslaw and peppercorn sauce for £33. Nice glass of rose too. The steak was cooked to perfection. Lovely and blackened on the outside and med rare in the middle. Melt in the mouth.

Went out for a dinner here. The service was quite good. We both had had the Sirloin steak, which was quite nice. Took a star off for the sides and starters. They weren’t bad, but quality could be improved. Good value for money though.

Excellent birthday dinner at La Maison Du Steak on Hills Road. Some extra special French dishes, including a really delicious Boeuf Bourgignon (not photographed) an unforgettable Ribeye steak, very good wines, sublime crème brûlée!! and nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

I nipped in on my way back from doing a last bit of Xmas shopping, as usual it was pretty busy even for a lunchtime. I went for the French onion soup to warm me up and it certainly did that and it was tasty as well with a lovely bit of cheese on the croutons then came my lamb chops,chips and salad which didn't disappoint either. The service was quick and efficient and the cost of the starter and main were reasonable and I certainly didn't need to eat anything later as I was full for the rest of the day. This restaurant never disappoints and I will be back sooner rather than later.

The French onion soup was average and the beef bourguignon was pretty tasteless, certainly didn’t seem like it had been slow cooked in red wine. Pork belly was a rasher that tasted ok but skin was soft not crispy. The fridges of meat when you walk in look impressive but the fillet steak could have been better. Not really worth the cost or the best atmosphere.

Starters were amazing, beef brisket was fatty, and the steak was tough. The glass washer was leaking a lot of water all over the floor, and there was a problem with the till. Needs a lot of TLC to the place.

I cannot rate this restaurant at all! Pretty on the outside. Shabby on the inside. Food no better than pub grub. Wine box wine decantered into a pitcher. Over priced on every scale. Presentation poor. The staff albeit pleasant were not prepared to deal with a group of lads who ruined everyone’s evening. Nothing offered in compensation to their other guests who joined together to deal with the situation.

We finally got to visit this Cambridge institution last night after moving here from Australia 4 months ago, and we were not disappointed. In fact, we had the best meal we've had since arriving in the U.K. The steak was cooked to perfection. I had the mature rib eye on the bone, my partner the fillet steak. The freshness and flavour of both cuts was outstanding. The mixed green salad was well put together and dressed perfectly, a fantastic, fresh accompaniment to my steak, green pepper sauce and fries. I had to try some of my dining companion's coleslaw, and it was of the highest standard, made in house to a traditional Hungarian recipe, full of complex flavour and texture. The dessert offerings were of an equal quality, the Îles Flottantes was perfect, light and fluffy meringue floating in a crème anglaise, with freshly roasted almond slivers on top, and the Crème Brûlée rich, warm and satisfying on a cold late-November evening. The drinks list was well matched to the food offerings, we shared a lovely bottle of Nero d'Avola wine with our mains, and I highly recommend an Eau de vie (french fruit brandy) or two to finish your meal. We walked home from our meal re-capping every mouthful, and revelling in the wonderful dining experience we'd just had. Good food isn't cheap, but the value for money of everything we ate was outstanding. We look forward to returning again very soon, thanks to the team for a wonderful dining experience.

I've tried steaks all over the world but none compare to the Tomahawk Steak served here. The best steak I have ever eaten! Staff went above & beyond!

That was terrible experience. As we ordered a well done steak, but whole steak was burnt and tasted bitter. We've had well done steak many times and no one else restaurant have same taste like this.

Amazing steak, traditional & cozy interior

Went in and asked for a table and were greeted with very rude and impatient staff. Being fully booked doesn’t mean you should be rude to future patrons, which is a shame as I was looking forward to trying this place but will not be revisiting now. No idea about the food but the atmosphere and service was immediately apparent (poor) based on our very negative interaction with the staff.

An excellent steak restaurant in Cambridge. We had high expectations when we saw the dry aging cabinet, and we were not disappointed. I had a rib eye, which was a good portion and cooked perfectly. My fiancé had the burger, which was also perfect. For dessert, the staff gave my fiancé a tiramisu to celebrate. It was a very nice way to begin our trip to England.

Amazing, high quality steak that came with sides and sauce at no additional cost - we got a huge tomahawk (950g with bone) for 2, plus drinks and it came to less than £60. Never been to any steak house where food was this cheap AND delicious. Will definitely come back and introduce friends and family to this place. Nice, cosy atmosphere, too.

We order quite a lot from La maiskn du steak and go often for the wagyu. But today after a Deliveroo where we ordered 2 fillet steaks, and one of them were absolutely a sirloin steak. Very disappointing

Lovely meal and great service. Big menu with plenty of choice- dont be fooled by the restaurants name; they serve lamb, chicken, duck, pork and fish as well as steaks. Be warned - we found the starters to be very generously portioned. We enjoyed a really leisurely meal and the four of us each had different mains and we were all delighted with our choices. Do try their coleslaw - I dont particularly like it usually but it was delicious, Would have no hesitation in returning next time we visit Cambridge.

Very good food. I had baked camembert with pear chutney and a frise salad, very tasty. My husband had the brisket and it was very tender and a HUGE portion!! I highly recommend this restaurant!!

As always an amazing experience at this great restaurant. The owner has got a winning formula here with great dishes and quality meat, we were made to feel welcome and the staff were very attentive and thorough. The restaurant has got a very friendly atmosphere and I would love to go back to try a bigger steak next time!
